Thank you my friend! I was looking for a the sensor on the radiator as well. I changed out the east on on the driver’s side at the engine with no change then did as you did and put the used one in the radiator sensor port. All is fine now. Thank you again for sharing!
No problem let me know if you have any other random issues with the car if I can help I will post other videos and try to make it super simple if I have had the issue what I did to trouble shoot it just a regular guy not mechanic and not trying to spend a fortune on a depreciating vehicle
FYI, the two sensors have different part #'s. The lower one is AcDelco 5591002. Upper one is 5591401. You need 3/8 id hose, about 2/5 ft, to drain the radiator.
The Radiator Coolant temp sensor and the engine coolant temp sensors are not the same part for the Cruze. If you have issues again you may want to get the proper part for the radiator, that being said it could just be a different part number to get more of our money. Bought this car for my daughter and have basically had to replace the entire cooling system...
Sometimes it's just a fluke. Use a scantool to erase and see if it comes back on before going through this process. Codes or no codes, a scantool will erase this.
I tried replacing the sensor by the passenger side next to the radiator and I couldn't. It leaks now and when I try to put the clip on it doesn't stop leaking. I got 2 thermostat sensors. Is the one by the radiator a radiator sensor?. I put the old sensor to see if it still leaks through and apparently it is now. Drained all my coolant. Any help would really appreciate it.
Did the oring come out with sensor I had similar issue my oring stayed in radiator and I did not notice when I tried putting new sensor in it leaked and could not clip it
@@juanc1104 I just figured out that I had the wrong sensor. I needed a radiator sensor. Then rebooted my car and it worked. Works fine now. No leaks or fan going crazy fast.
Sorry I forgot to mention I had a thermostat sensor in the radiator. I didn't know how it all worked until I kept watching videos and realized I had the wrong sensor in. Car wasn't reading it either.
all my stuff was cheaper on Rock Auto parts.com sensor on the side of engine 12.99 plus shipping was 15.00 the other one was cheaper on the side of the radiator don't remember the price but auto zone wanted 42 .00 dollars for the one on the engine block and one on the radiator was 11.99 That's why use rock auto parts or 1 A auto parts alot cheaper quality Auto parts AC Delco Bosch you name it they got it
Erase the p217 code before changing sensors and problem may be solved. If the engine threw that code due to over heating the temp gage will stay on cold and the AC off due to over heating will pop up until it is erased!
No problem inhave other things that have gone wrong I guess common stuff on it if you have any questions on the curze I might have a awnser of what I have done to trouble shoot things

I'v put the radiator sensor in the engine, and a new sensor in the radiator. Been working fine.

These cars are all junk from the get go. GM we all want our money back and u can have your price of junk back. What a waste of money.

@@marisolg838 ohbokay so did you happen to get the right one
@@juanc1104 yes I did.
Put a new radiator sensor, rebooted my car (cuz it wouldn't read it) and worked.
I’ve done all of this and still it doesn’t work how to I go about checking the wires with the volt meter
I dont know what the resistance or oms readings would have to be
