- OBD-2 code P2004 Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open. Working on a 2005 Ford Focus with check engine light on.105,000 miles on the car.
2.0 liter engine SE ZX4 engine group 5FMXV02.10GB
Jabo the Mechanic does a good video on troubleshooting this code.
use 5/32 vacuum hose. also 4.0MM in size.
I was surprised how well this worked. One of my lines was disintegrating so I got a foot of vacuum line for like $2 and put it on and the car has never been so quiet. Great video, would recommend.

it worked it also fixed my cat i/m readiness sensor along side my intake manifold runner valve problem thank you. this saved me buying a CAT or possibly getting rid of the car. My car is a 2004 ford focus 2.3L pzev zx3, odometer is at 334,000 miles and thanks to you it's getting a new set of 2025 California tags.

Thank you so much! Was able to find the cracked hose in less than 5 minutes. Took another 15 minutes to get the second end of the hose on the nipple.

I replaced the Intake manifold runner control on my 08 Jeep Compass because the check engine light came on. After replacing the part with a new one my car doesn't start. Any thoughts? Going crazy trying to figure what I did wrong!!!

104k on my 2006. Same code on mine. Im also smelling gas in the cab but i think thats a different issue, possible fuel leak.
2008 focus 2004 error cracked vacuum hose at the plastic manifold just under the plastic. Had to pull off to see the crack.
Definitely vacuum I just learned my lesson
