    I just had the same code along with P0171. It turns out that the 2 short vacuum hoses that connect the solenoids to the intake manifold were cracked. I bought a foot of hose @ Autozone, cut it in half, and replaced the bad ones. The fix was $1.90, and also fixed the P0171 code, so look for leaks!

    On my 2008 Fusion the sensor on the right side was bad. So for all other people looking for help. Buy one sensor to switch back and forth. FYI you wont be able to tell if it’s fixed till you clear the code and the make sure it stays cleared with a test drive.

    This helped me alot and the install was very easy but I'm still getting the P2004 code after replacing and removing the battery... • @CringeComedyTV
      @CringeComedyTV  Рік тому +2

      If you replaced the solenoids and the code is coming back then the flappers themselves are stuck and it's not a solenoid issue. I don't have a video for that because my flappers weren't stuck.

      Probably a “Hard” code. You’ll need to disconnect the battery for about 5-15 minutes to let the modules sleep. If that does not clear it, Autozone I believe will loan scan tools to clear it.

    Hi thanks for the vid. I've been pulling my hairs out trying to get an idle problem solved (idle drops and surges when the car is moving and idling, really gets on your nerves when approaching a traffic light) , replaced a bunch of parts, hoses and sensors, but nothing really worked. Now i am convinced it has to do with the IMRC (intake manifold runner control)/IMTV (intake manifold tuning valve) solenoids. I checked the resistances and both are fine, i checked the position of the levers on the manifold while idling and it seems both solenoids are open. I read somewhere that the IMTV solenoid is typically closed when idling and opens at 3000 rpm. Do you know if that is correct? (i already ordered the part, so ill test this anyway, i'm just curious if the info is valid)

      Yes. Check for leaks on the vacuum hoses before buying parts. You can often hear the leak. If not, run your hand all around the full length to find any leak, or better yet, pull the hoses and carefully inspect them. as they get brittle from heat and age and develop cracks.
