I'm going to have to get some of those Briggs bowl gaskets myself. I have been using bowls off of carbs I had laying around before, but my stock is running low on extras. You're right, the ethanol takes a toll on them. I have 2 of the straight pall recoil assemblies that I saved because I run across them from time to time.

Have you ever done any Bondo work on a rusted out deck?? I've done a couple. Not too much work and it makes the mower a bit more useable. Too bad about that Craftsman. I had a guy drop by with a dead Toro self propelled yesterday. a complete unit with a bag. He was moving and wanted to sell it. Gave him $50 even tho it wouldn't fire with happy juice. I'll give it the once over when the weather warms up this weekend.

The screw on the carb is supposed to be seated all the way in.

Try engaging. The edger part to see if it smooths out under load. Also some older tecumesh don’t run right if there is not air filter. But 39:46 sound a lot better

Carb is 632615 or 632208 The emulsion tube is likely plastic and held in with 2 o rings, one on either end

Front wheel needs to be tight, it wobbels.

What i do on adjustment is put full throttle do high speed on bottom then slow to low speed and an do side adjustment. Fine tune after that

I keep all of those tecumseh carburetor parts for snowblowers you might have to replace seat and run a qtip on a drill in the hole with compound to shine it up. So needle works correctly. If you notice the wire on needle most always faces choke.

Tommy, the emulsion tube up the center of carb is made of plastic and is color coded for the specific engine. On that plastic tube there are 2 small rings that go bad. Go online with model and serial numbers and get a new tube and orings or the complete carb kit. There is another jet on the side of carb that is usually covered with a black plastic cap. This jet needs cleaned. If engine is hunting this is the area you need to address. The jet is non adjustable. Just remove and clean and screw it back in but don't get crazy tightening it.

That carburetor is still not clean. Ultrasonic for an hour. Bowl gasket needs addressed. It will still be junk when you get it running. 😂

how do you fix a Tecumseh engine, well you replace it with a B&S. take care eh!

From what I can figure out thru cross referencing: the 4digit code means before 2004. First number , 6, would be year, (you have to guess the decade) for example 1996, 1986 etc...the other 3 would be day of the year, so 129th day of the year. That's what I deciphered anyway. Old Tecumseh engine made for Sears. I used the Craftsman/Tecumseh cross reference from some small engine nerds cross reference forum.????

yep, I drill a small hole in every flywheel cup just because. I know, I'm weird. I'll probably never get one back to benefit from it, but still. My TommyTime self-narrating skills took over once again. Good job, another winner Quantum.

This is a good mower I had once I ended up selling it after I hadn’t used it in 18 months. I had got it so my son could cut grass for $$ Back in highschool. I got it cheep from a moving sale. It was hydro locked. Too much oil.

Thanks Tommy. I just use dishwashing liquid and an old 4" paint brush and a high pressure nozzle on my garden hose; then, of course, liberal application of ATF!! Good video, got some good money makers there.

Had a guy come out yesterday and buy a craftsman snowblower at advertised price. What he said was you have a bunch for sale you must fix them. I mentioned that most people are probably selling because they need work. we only had 6" of snow so far this season. Only 1 snowblower to finish up back to lawnmowers. Have a dozen snowblowers listed.

Well the shop is closed tomorrow, high will be 25 , stay home and rest up 😮😊 Hopefully you will not get hit with this storm 😢

Will wait patiently for Part II of the Quantum rectification!! I had 2 mowers show up yesterday for repair. One needs the beauty cover reattached with some Redneck Engineering. All the screw holes are stripped. The other is a mower I sold to a lady last summer. No spark and she abused the crap out of the little Yard Machine. I don't think I'll have time to get much done on either before the Big Freeze gets here to Central Texas.

another Quantum. These things are like cockroaches. Nuke-proof. April 2011 build ? Mine is April 2000. (last owner left it at curb. Fouled plug, blocked air filter. Clunk noise? = Loose blade) I swapped it on to my deck, torqued MY blade & adapter down, new plug, new filter. They just go & go. The Best Flatheads Ever . Tecumseh sux, Briggs sub-190cc sux. Most OHVs suck .

Hi Tommy , Great Deal on the Toro ! Not a fan of that plastic briggs carb but it a easy repair and makes me Money !!! Some people dont take care of their Mowers and get rid of great Machines but i dont mind fixing and flipping for $$$$$. ....Its Cold up here in Massachusetts and just bought a used Toro woth bag for 25.. It runs rough but too cold to look at it and ill wait till SPRING .. Take Care and keep these great videos coming and i learned alot !!!
