Last fall my DH brought me a branch off his sister's fig tree. It was leafless, & I was busy, so at the time I just put it in water under our Olive tree. . . . This spring I went to get them & found them with a few figs growing among some leaves! I went ahead & removed the figs, & clipped it into 8 cuttings . . . removing much of the cambium layer from the bottom up to the lowest growth node I would bury . . . & planted them in silt that washed down from nearby hills. . . . I used Coconut water & Coconut milk containers (that I put drainage holes in) as planters. . . . They have more leaves now, & I've been watering them 2x daily, keeping them shaded during most of the hottest times of the day (because I'm in S. Calif. desert, & they wilt if I don't). I didn't use rooting hormone . . . but, if I used anything, it was just Cinnamon powder.

Howdy! How long can I store cuttings in my fridge ? I figure on leaving about 6 weeks to root, but I don't have the room to provide lights and heat for more than a couple starts after rooting, I'll timing my hardening-out for March if at all possible. Also, am I missing part 2?
