We're rolling the 454ss OBS Chevy back into the shop this week! Last time you saw this truck, we finished rebuilding our iconic 454 motor and got this truck only to forget to fill up the fluid in the rear diff. Then once we got that sorted, we got it tuned on the dyno just to blow up the driveshaft. And even though the truck hadn't really made an appearance since then, we did get it back driving on the road. In fact, this big block OBS has been Mike's daily driver since the new drive shaft got delivered.
Unfortunately though, this truck wasn't particularly happy to be living in the south Florida ecosystem with all of the rain, and the leaky window seals caused parts of our interior to get completely ruined. So we're yanking out the old carpet and laying down some fresh material. While we have the seats out, we're also installing a new sound system with two 6" kickers!
Once our interior is back up to par, we're switching our focus to keeping the engine bay nice and clean. And the way we're going to do that is with a custom set of inner fenders. Since this truck is slammed on some QA1 coil overs, we had to pull out the stock inner fenders a while back. But with all the wetness on the roads down in Florida, it creates an absolute mess in the engine bay. So our friend Orlando is stopping by to help us bend, cut, and weld a custom set of inner fenders for our wheel wells that not only look slick, but help keep the engine bay looking fresh and shiny!
Make sure you subscribe to the channel so you don't miss us finishing up this build, or miss out on any of our other crazy projects!
Check out all the new S2S merch we have up on our site!

Orlando is ace man
He's got some killer skills!
Daaaaam thats not a shop truck! That’s a show truck now! Everything needs to be on point 👌if u guys ever change the seats for some racing ones please sell me the oem ones hehe 😅
Thank you! We'll let you know, but I don't think these seats are coming out any time soon!
Niiiice. Orlando is great. Would be a great addition to the already amazing team
I think so too!
Consider finessing the bottom inside edges of the inner fenders
Will do!
Nice work Mikey and crew!
Appreciate it!
Fucking love this truck, I would have loved to have just cleared over the last sand of the inner fenders rather than final coat of gloss black, I thought it tied into the patina on the exterior nicely 👌
We were thinking about giving the inner fenders a bit of patina but liked the look of opening the hood and seeing it all nice and shiny!
those inner fenders look bad ass.
Thank you!
Bad ass truck I always wanted one of those back in the day now I just want one more!
They're hard to come by now with the original 454!
Just a heads up on the wet carpet. Check you cowl, there is a screw that holds the cowl in place and that screw is directly above the fresh air vent. Mine was leaking everytime it rained and that was my issue, a little screw(just dabbed some sealant on it and zero issues the last two years)
Thanks for the heads up! We had a truck roll in one time that had a bad water leak. It turned out someone used self tapping screws through the cowl and it was letting a whole ton of water in!
I think those red accents to match the air cleaner are freaking perfect. Leave them like that. It really ties it all together.
The red is a perfect color match to that aircleaner too!
The inner fenders came out way better than I expected! Excellent work from Orlando, I agree I think the red access panels need to be gloss or semi gloss black if you want some contrast
Orlando made it happen this week! And a flat black would be a good idea to create some contrast but keep everything a uniform color!
oh Lord, these wheels.. mmm
If your carpet is wet in front your evap under the dash is probably leaking. Firewall gasket to housing. Comes through the cowl vent.
That rig is lookin good! I just visited Level 7 and they have an obs they're about to finish, and it is lookin similar to this one. Love your work! Have a great Christmas!
Thank you! We'll have to check out their OBS. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
Audio Pro Tip: Power cabling and RCA cabling should not be run next to each other. This can cause the high-pitched 'airplane whir' when you step on the gas pedal. Next time, RCA gets run on passenger side floorboard while power runs on driver side. And as far as subs go- the larger the diameter, the lower the frequency response. A 12" or even a 10" fits behind those seats and they will get down to 20hz where 6" can only get down to probably 35hz. I love these OBS builds, and that patina look is something I've never seen done before. Unique
Thanks so much for the tips! We're definitely not audio experts here so we'll take all the advice we can get! Thank you for the compliment too!
I think the red cover access panels look bad ass on there!! It brought a smile to my face once I saw it. Nice man.
It gives those panels a bit of a pop!
oh Baby was let out of the corner.... sweet.
Hope you liked the episode!
Thanks for all the vids S 2 S. Have a nice X-Mas.
Marry xmas to you and yours as well!
Progress look great boys
Thank you!
I’ve been looking for one of these SS trucks for many Many years. In my area they are just so hard to find.
The Big Block is the hardest to find. We use to be able to just walk into a wrecking yard and buy just about any motor that we wanted. Today if it’s not one form or another it’s an LS motor.
Just the presence of that big block motor has when you open the hood…
want this one, id be happy to sell her off to build a race truck
They guzzle gas and they don't make that much horsepower stock, but you're 100% right. There's just something iconic about having that 454 in that engine bay that feels so right!
@@michaelrolleri2085 all depends on what you would want for it.
I’m old and I’m not sure if I want to build. Is the motor all stock.
I live in California. If it’s been modified I’ll never get it smogged here.
Love the truck, keep the stock gauges huge part of the identity of these OBS beauties.
We just need to get em all working correctly!
Yeah, is there an aftermarket kit that works with stock gauges?
I love how those inner fenders turned out, I like the red accent on the mesh screens, it kinda matches the interior too.
That was a really cool merch plug too, that's the best looking Christmas tree I've seen in a while!
Thanks you! The red really sets those inner fender off. And it's not too late to get yourself another Christmas ornament! lol
Y’all changin the game with the fenders and engine covers, looks sweet!
Thank you! Orlando came through with the heat!! He knocked em out of the park
Wish I had half your skills!
We appreciate the support! Thank you!
Nice work as usual. I love the red accents!
Glad you like them! They match pretty dang well with the air cleaner!
Damn, Orlando is a great fabricator! I really don't mind seeing him more often. Keep up the great work!
Thank you!
Love how the access panels match the air filter, strangely enough. Especially with the interior
It's a perfect match to that filter color too!
@@SalvagetoSavage I don't know why I haven't seen it before it's actually pretty dope. 🤘
Great video Mikey , Orlando did an " AWSOME " job on the inner fender , they turned out great 👍
He really did! Stepped into the shop not knowing where we kept any of the tools and was still super efficient in creating some awesome work too!
Ahhh my savages still grinding 🔥💪🏽💯
Luis!! Hope your week is kicking some ass! Thanks for all the support my friend!
Great fab work there and Orlando is one skilled man. Are you going have gaskets to prevent rattling, where metal meets metal?
That's not a bad idea, but so far we haven't heard any rattling. Everything fits together pretty snug. In the future, if stuff starts to shake a little that's definitely what we'll do!
LOVE the red accent!! Leave it alone
Black Beauty! Love the SS interior is so nice! Great job on the panels under the hood Orlando! The black paint with red accent is very cool , nice job Mike!!
Thanks! Orlando did an amazing job!
nice ad placement, respect
Thanks!
Inner fender look so sick!! Orlando did a great job, and you kicked ass on the paint and body portion.... grills would look sick high gloss red
We need to get Orlando back here to keep on fabricating. He did an amazing job
I like the red grills
They give the inner fenders a bit more of a pop!
You make everything look 2 easy..
It's cause the Timelapse doesn't record audio, so you can't hear all the swearing! lol Thanks for the support!
Yep... Orando oughtta be part of y'all s team!
Great vid as always! Really admired how you engine compartment retained American bad ass with some high end classy krout looks to it...
Cool af imo ✌️
Thank you so much!
Where did you get that thick foam sound deadening for the floor?
We use either dynomat or sound deadner from restomod air!
454 looking really good, by any chance you know what the fabric code is for the seats I've been trying to restore mine but need the code
No clue unfortunately. The seats were the one thing in here we haven't had to replace
@SalvagetoSavage lol thanks for the reply appreciate it
What name brand stereo head unit are you using? I've been looking for after market unit to fit in my stock location.
I second that.
I’ve been building cars for most of my 72 years. I don’t think I’ve ever glued down a carpet.
Did you use the Jute under the carpet??
Because every single custom interior professional we have brought in to work on our builds has always glued down the carpets. In our eyes, if it's the way the guys who are doing custom interiors in Ferraris and Rolls Royces prefer to lay the carpet down, it's the direction we're going to take when doing it ourselves!
Well my interior guy, who does very high end interiors glues them down so I just do what he does.
Looks amazing how much y’all charge to make another set
Shoot us a message on IG for a quote, or send us an email!
Where did you find the carpet?
I believe we grabbed it from LMC truck or just another online retailer. It was just a carpet kit for a single cab obs chevy
Which dynamat is that? I’m trying to get something that’ll help with heat in the cabin
Where did you get the red carpet kit from?
You can get these kits from a bunch of places, but I think we got this one from LMC
Got it. Thank you. I'll check out LMC.
PAINT it so it goes back to its glory. It looks half done.
Nope!
we’re did y’all get the carpet and other panels from??
👍🤙
Your channel is always providing something that others fail on.. I've been working on my channel with an effort to try and be more focused on the actual work. It's kind of sad some of the top performing creators get the most views by just destroying high value objects...
It creates drama and controversy. And when it comes to media, that's what sells! But we make the content the way we do because we're passionate about the work we do and want to spark that in other people as well. Keep doing what you're doing man! If you're passionate and what you're creating has value to you, then you can never fail!
@@SalvagetoSavage Thanks man, merry Christmas.
Where did you get the carpet from anybody got a link ??
LMC
What headunit is that?
The work looks great, but why not spend five more minutes and dollars to mix up quality primer and paint that won’t rust from underneath?
What size wheels
Sitting too low?? I don’t think so!
Notch it and let it scrape.
If we weren't on static suspension then we would be right there with ya!
💪👊👏
Personally, I have to disagree with everyone else. I think it came out to blockie. The red accent is cool. I also think I would have gone with a black carpet kit, and you definitely need to have those seats reupholstered in black leather. With all that dark maroon on the dash and center console, adding some black would make it really pop. I do love the work you all do. Let's concentrate on the Lincoln. That is the car that got me to subscribe!
Drop ep 6
Let me know if you want some Sniper help. I do tech support for a dealer up in Palm Bay just a little north of you, Holley sends people to us when they can't get a Sniper working right.
