@@ViceGripGarageDerek along with his lovely wife Jessica along with their three sons accomplish these many entertaining, enjoyable, delightful videos along with their participation in many automotive events. Am certainly looking forward to seeing Derek and Jessica participating within Wick Week 2024 with this Motion Raceworks ZZ632 "Work Truck"' Doug, Andy and the MR Team have certainly selected, chosen a wonderful team, VGG to represent them during the SW event along with the others from MR. Have been thinking about which of the VGG vehicles would be involved, used, participating in SW 2024. Derek had shown the "MonteBaro" recently in a video which was clearly under "re-construction", "re-development" especially the drive train. Thus, was thinking that vehicle might be ready for SW or for other Drag& Drive events as RMRW, HRDW, etc. As always, there are others within the VGG "Fleet" which certainly can be prepared for use within SW 2024 too. I love that, "We got to test it out" My mom had an old 64 Galaxy 4 door. I would check the oil for her, and add some if it needed, but then told her. I should run it around for a bit to mix it together. She, bless her heart, let me. This was suburban Portland Or, early 70's. I finally got a ticket, and that ended that...
can't believe that officer didn't understand that the ol' galaxy needed to breathe a bit, get some fresh air, can't keep a lady like that cooped up, she needs to run free..
Seeing that radio/HVAC portion of the dash brought back memories. I got my license at 16 in 1992, my stepfather had an obs Chevy extended cab short box. He changed the engine to a 350 and did the transmission. The first time I drove it, my stepfather asked me to back it out of the driveway, I didn't realize the tailgate was down and backed into a neighbor's car. The tailgate completely pierced the driver's side door of his Chevy Lumina. I don't think I ever drove that truck again. Ahhh times.
Don't care to be a "hater" or "Karen", but my opinion is that the blue candy/tint should have been sprayed a bit lighter to showcase the hand lettering and the original delaminated gray paint.
Awesome work done by the crew at Volunteer Muffler, they've done some more really high quality work on this truck. The lettering work looks great too, really adds that little extra flair! That truck is going to be an absolute monster on the street and drag strip!
"Did I ruin it?" My bleep bloop is NO. You found a way to embody what that truck is - an old rig with a story to tell that was given a new beginning. Your care to maintain the history and tale of each vehicle you feature is admirable. It has inspired my son and I in our plans for my father in law's old truck that we are rehabbing and getting back on the road.
Always the perfect way to end the week. Having a cold snack and watching some VGG. Thanks for all that you and your family do for us subscribers Derek. I know it means a lot to me and I’m sure many other as well
Derek, I LOVE the candy blue over the lettering and the gray areas. I really liked the lettering beforehand but really like how it looks once it was "weathered" and coated in candy. It looks GREAT!
I spent a lot of those years in the drinkers side of a 93 (couldn't keep a license more than a few weeks myself) and man, being in one now is an instant trip back.
I LOVE this gen Chevy. I had one too, just the regular 5.7, which I gotta say- we couldn't blow that sucker up and we tried tried tried! A couple decades later, I can't wait to get another one. That truck is badass. Dude, the blue candy clear turned out amazing. That exhaust setup is wildly cool total mind blown, man.👍
AMAZING JOB Derek and crew!! I know Doug will be super impressed with the turnout!
I think the paint came out much better than I expected, the Candy really made it interesting.Keep doing what you do, see you at Sick Week.
You are driving a 1000 horse truck. I'm so jealous. Your first burnout... I shead a tear... I need a truck like that. Thanks for sharing this
Truck looks awesome Derek. Love how you aged the lettering and the blue/clear looks great.
That truck is a perfect balance of street head turner, race truck, and old school farm truck. What a sick build.
I've always been a Ford guy, but that tri/choice exhaust is awesomesauce 👍👍👍
That blue candy made the grey absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
The clear coat tinted the letter and primer….it looks amazing!
That looks absolutely FANTASTIC!! You never cease to amaze!!
I'd be really interested to see how much difference the different exhaust settings make when she gets to the dyno...
That exhaust is sick! Love the sounds.
