More expensive and its not even a PHEV? Not seeing how this is at all comparable to the Sealion 6. This is more of a RAV4 competitor only. Maybe if the price were $10k cheaper but the BYD is definitely still offering the better package at this stage.
There have been nearly ten safety recalls because of various engine issues since 2015 alone. In the newer models, it appears that the issues have been resolved, but you have to be careful with used Hyundai vehicles.
61k is too much for this, considering at the drive away price point it's not got to compete with so many better cars, even sub 60k top spec cars out do the Tuscon.
Much prefer the new exterior front design, and much better interior with dials, buttons and touch screen. Nicely done. I really would prefer a diesel tho.
European version (in Poland) has steering wheel on the proper side 😊 N line version has 3 - zone climat control, premium Michelin tires, rear seats divided in 40/20/40 system.
Price gouging by Hyundai, Kia, Toyota so go with BYD. Corolla is now a 45k car, 60k for most mid sized SUVs. Kluger, pathfinder, Santa Fe, Sorrento all over 80K in Australia but less than 50K in USA. Due to weak government legacy brands are ripping consumers off and it’s only consumers who can stop this by avoiding these brands completely. 15 years ago Korean cars had same concerns but today they are in top 5 brands. Chinese cars are 100% better than those early Korean cars with features that that wont be offered in a 100k Toyota so why not consider them. BYD Sealion is amazing and it’s only the reason Tesla reduced prices. Show the power of what consumers can do.
Perhaps, though BYD is not a proven brand like Toyota, KIA or Hyundai, especially for warranty and support, let alone the used car market. However if you look into it, BYD’s leasing options are pretty attractive, especially with their EVs, as who knows how much “battery replacement” will be. I see all future EVs being on lease for this reason.
45k for a corolla! In the 2012...they were like from 22k from base....that's double. So sad that the price gouging is still present. They really upped it over Covid.
4:33 And try to replace these bulbs with proper LED ones to see the real challenge here... In short, I think you have to remove the whole bumper in order to get access to remove the bulb, at least I was not able to even get closer of getting it out and I tried two times, two different days on both sides... even if I was able to unscrew the cap, I can't imagine how I will remove and replace with the LED one and then screw it back again... it's hard to even put your flat palm in there, let alone to use your thumb to catch on to anything...
Not very comparable to the BYD, no short-trip zero-emissions EV mode and doesn't even have plug-in charging. Still creating non plug-in Hybrids in 2024 is sad, and charging a fortune for it! Legacy automakers are going to get a big wake up call at this rate.
Hey Matt all the close ups highlight the garbage orange peel paint. Compared to say a Mazda it’s unacceptable in today’s market. Surely you can’t compare a conventional hybrid to a plug in hybrid like the BYD Sealion 6. That dual screen still looks like a high school project gone wrong, don’t think I could justify the expense of Toyota or Hyundai
I test drove the previous model - unfortunately the N-line seat badge and surrounds dug into my upper back/shoulders…. Quite noticeable and uncomfortable!!!
What the hell were they thinking with that rear blinker? Why? I think how the did the blinkers in the front is great. Very noticable and you could never miss it. But the rear is this glass bulb light low on the bumper? WTF? Some of these designers try to get too cute and just wind up doing something stupid. Granted you should be using your breaks while making a turn and the person behind you should realize your slowing down, but that stupid placement of the rear blinker completely breaks the line of sight to drivers behind you. If i was behind this car, I would fully expect the blinker being with the tail/brake lights somewhere. Then the fact they didnt use LED for that poor design placement just adds to the stupidity. Not very intuitive.
It's a no-brainer to go with Sealion6 when buying with novated lease (due to the EV/PHEV FBT exemption). Top spec at $9k more driveaway, and with Hyundai not bringing in the Tucson PHEV to AU market (only made in LHD), it was an easy decision to go BYD way.
For BYD service interval is 5k which seems very annoying…More over major services @20/40/60/80/100k..so a total of 20 services including 5 major in a 100k run..is it really worth where you can get petrol cheap…gcc countries#
Event though turbo petrol engine and electric motor combination is good in this car, I am thinking there will be a reason why mainstream hybrids from Toyota and Honda still using a naturally aspirated engine. And Hyundai is relatively new into Hybrid cars
I drove the BYD sea lion 6 today…. Seriously the graphics on the display were so cheap looking and washed out I think an 80s arcade game would have higher resolution and quality… not impressed!!!
not long ago i would have seriously considered a Hyu /Kia but have been scatched off my due to too many horror reports of eng in i30 Tuscon, and various Kia's shiting in its pants post 100km Mow im looking at the H6 hyb and BYD sealoion
Top spec drive away 67k. Hyundai must be dreaming
No one is paying that with dealers offering $5k discounts .
Just like a Toyota chr like 63k for top spec, what the hell
Hyundai is luxury. Hope someone buy BAD 😂
What can surpass BYD sealion now at their current price point? They made it very difficult for the japanese, koreans and americans.
If you purchase a Chinese car, your information and that of your family will be transferred to China. I don't want to put my family in danger.
tiggo 8 pro phev
@@kindness-villain yeah but a big bump in price.
Manipulating your currency and subsidising your manufacturers will do that
@@mahcooharper9577 Yes. We do that in America but still can't compete against the Chinese.
Nice car but the deal breaker is the price and those indicators below not on the tail lights!!
I solely choose my cars based on indicator locations too 😂
Thank you for showing the gear selector function. The first review of this car that has shown it. Well done Car Sauce.
In 2025, DMi 6 is coming which are able drive 2000 km
Did someone break the microphone..?

love u guys and your silly acts!❤❤
Hey, can you make a comparison video between the Rav4, Tuscon, and Sportage? I'm curious to see which one is the best.
Hyundai means no headache to the consumer they can live peacefully ❤❤

Toyota has chosen BYD running gear in Future RAV 4
61k is too much for this, considering at the drive away price point it's not got to compete with so many better cars, even sub 60k top spec cars out do the Tuscon.
That indicator issue is a common one across hyundai, its very frustrating

Just drove off the lot with mine!
The hybrid Hyundai system use a rubber belt driven starter/generator as opposed to Honda and Toyota who have no belt driven pulley system at all.
Hyundai have to stop putting N Line badge on stuff that's just aesthetics. It waters down the idea of the label. BMW do it with the M too.
HELLO carsauce Mahindra 5 door ROXX launched 5 hours ago please review the 5 door ROXX.
BOSE= buy other stereo equipment?

@@chasewel8877starts at 54k but then you get not much. GT is around 75k plus on road.

You can get Ssangyong rexton or isuzu mux in same price range
The motto of this video ... beep, beep, beep ... as the background sound.
Hi is the BOSE sound system in the new Kona hybrid NLINE same ? As in not very good ?

Indicators not being in the rear light cluster are one of my biggest bug bears.
Is that some ADR nonsense that results in some cars getting those?
You can see the indicator on the out side mirrors to . But a dump ass idea why you would put the indicators that low ....really unsafe.
recommend noise test: 50km/h, 60km/h, 70km/h, 80km/h, and 100km/h

What’s with the 10k service intervals for the Tucson 😮. Bah humbug 😊
Can you do a review of the Cupra Ateca V which now on sale?

Better than the previous model interior wise but still a boring SUV.
Yet it has its audiences here in Oz

Yeah nah, I'll stick to the diesel thanks. It'll probably last longer than the newer hybrid 😂
The front grille is but of a mess..not as simple and defined.
Who would insanely choose this over Tesla which is cheaper.
How long until the engine dies.

I’m not a fan of the interior and how would you clean those seats if you spill a drink or god forbid chocolate milk !!😫
The blacked out front looks unfinished and poorly defined.
The BYD looks a lot better than both the Hyundai and Toyota.

Is this the best Hyundai can do no wonder it's almost wiped out in the Chinese market 😅
Sorry the BYD Sealion 6 is for me, why would I throw away the extra money for a Hyundai Tucson and get Jack S..T ? ?
That front is so fkn ugly! Would take the Sealion any day even if the price is the same...
Good car, terrible soundtrack.

Another unaffordable Hyundai. The Chinese are going to destroy the incumbents
