Probably an unpopular opinion, but if you must be so careful with a flashlight you can't even scratch it, how are you going to use it "every day"? They are tools, not relics.
I’ve had the i3T EOS OLIGHT for about 2.5 years now. And I love it. If it’s not in my pocket it’s on my night stand by my bed. I love how you have to double click it to get to the high setting. If I click it once and use the low then I turn it off the next time I click it on it’s on the low setting. Best feature on a light ever made. The pocket clip / hat brim attachment is the second best feature. I can’t tell you how many time I’ve put it on my hat brim and was able to use both hands. If you ever need a EDC flashlight get the OLIGHT i3T or other OLIGHT you won’t be disappointed one bit.
Arkfeld Pro is my favorite so far. Love the flat design. 1300 Lumens, great laser pointer and UV light all in one. Plus the reverse clip
I love olight flashlights. I used to prefer the i3t and arkfeld but now my absolutely favorite olight flashlight is the seeker 4 mini. Amazing beam, nice runtime, and perfect tint at 5000k with no green tint in it.
I3t and i5t are simple, sturdy and bright. They also both have seriously long battery life on low setting and high.. which most others do not. I like how they take regular AA/AAA batteries because putting an extra 4 in my pack is wayyyy lighter than a power bank. 4 batteries essentially gets you 80 hours of useable light with either. They are $20 and $30 respectively.
I do kinda want a mini marauder I believe they are called. Looks kinda like an old school flashlight but stubbier. They have a broader beam for open areas. You can’t go wrong with any Olight though. They can be run over with a car and still work fine. They are built to last. The two-way pocket clip is best in class also.
I can vouch for the Marauder Mini. Both spot and flood as well as RGB and unlike the Marauder 2 with its sealed battery, you can buy spare batteries for the Marauder Mini. Catch one of the Flash Sales and you can save 30-50 bucks on it depending on the sale. Zip~

I love my AAA flashlights but have trouble using one as an EDC. The cost of batteries just makes them wasteful, but that's because I'm using mine a lot. For a little use flashlight for the car, the I3T may be my go-to👍
You can always use the i5t the one with the AA battery, brighter also
@Ryan Kanters Thanks for the tip. I am generally charging mine daily due to work (plus my headlamp), so a rechargeable on hand better fits my situation. I just love the slim profiles and wish they'd make a rechargeable version. Are you listening Olight? 😁
Throw a 10440 in there and now you don't have to worry about the battery problem. You also get superior outputs.

i3T and a knife are my 2 most basic EDC items that i carry in my pocket ALL THE TIME & EVERYWHERE.. even my phone doesn’t get that much carry time since i need to charge it regularly.. i chose the i3T because it is almost the same width as the knife i carry along with it so it makes nice even and almost flat bulge that doesn’t draw too much attention (apart from the tail of the i3t sticking out) and honestly 200lm with the light pattern the i3T has, it’s perfectly enough for everything i would need from an EDC (if i need anything more then it’s already a specific situation i can prepare for and take bigger light with me) and i can just buy cheap bulk of AAAs and swap them without waiting for the battery to recharge what makes me bring out the emitter which is optimized for a small head diameter, low power, high efficacy flashlight powered by just one 1.5V AAA battery.. other flashlights that are optimized for higher lumen outputs and 3.6V batteries can only reach 120lm at best with AAA battery because the flashlight is not as efficient at lower voltages.. as someone who doesn’t have an external battery charger, nor any spare 10440 batteries to interchange and don’t like the idea of waiting for something i don’t want to be without to get charged.. AAA’s are just simplest to run in a flashlight with the head diameter of just 15mm and i can’t think of any aaa sized flashlight that would give out 200lm from an actual standard 1.5V aaa battery

My favorite by far is the Arkfeld. Form factor alone.
I wear the imini on a paracord neclace. SOOO convinient to just pull on it when I need lights at random situation... Have worn it for two weeks and I use it often to find keyholes, bathroom trips at night or random situations looking into dark corners and holes... just wish it was wireless rechargable!

@@maxlvledc yeah, it turns on when you yank it from the magnetic base... 3 small button cells, so far they are lasting pretty good... there were 3 extra in the package... thinking about finding some rechargable reolacement....
I necklace carry the I1R2 pro, its bigger than the imini but still very compact, the ithx is a good choice too

I have the Olight i5T EOS. I have a ton of flashlights but I use this one probably 5 days a week in the mancave. It has a high and low beam option. Ideal for pocket carry and short throw use.
Aurora is also a fantastic flashlight. I was always an olight guy but tried a different brand and it’s so bright, had it for month and haven’t charged it yet, fits in the 3rd pocket in a pair of jeans and it’s half the price of olight. Aurora A3.
Olight is my number one light pick!
I daily use the arkfield UV combo light from them, I'm a fleet automotive technician, and the flashlight is brighter than anyone else's in the shop, even much larger and heavier units. Also, the UV light comes in handy when I'm looking for AC leaks (which normally have UV dye in them to easily detect leaks for safety reasons), or any other kind of fluid really. It shows me the little particles in old brake fluid, so I can easily see the transition between old to new fluid when I'm flushing/bleeding brakes, it'll highlight most coolant types, it just comes in handy really often. They offer the same light with a laser/flashlight combo instead, if you're not Intered in the UV. Some of the color has worn but the light still works as if it were new. I've owned dozens of their products and the customer service, ungodly brightness, and precision qaulity, of these lights is hands down the best on the market.
Edit: it's about a year old I think. Probably 300 charges on it.
I’d have to agree 100% with your choices. As long as you have those 5, you have it covered. Except maybe a Warrior X Turbo, for throw.

The baton 3 , if you double tap the power quickly you get the ultra bright mode (caution don't use for prolonged time as it can get too hot)
Arkfeld? 300 lumens on high with a 1000 lumen turbo and a decent green laser pointer. Has memory, moonlight and shows battery level. Laser pointers are not for everyone, but I do maintenance on industrial machinery and being able to point stuff out to coworkers is nice.
It made it on my list at 10th

I got 4 out of 5 and yeah they are so good. Everyone hates on olight but they are so good for what they are.
I have to admit, I kind of wish I'd gone with the i3T instead of the i5T as my first Olight. I don't want to get another pack of Eneloops... I still have a couple left sitting around from the i5T!
I do think the i5T WAS the better option for me at the time though... but Olight is killing it at the AAA lights lately!

I like the Arkfeld with the UV
I'm really not an Olight fan. Most of their stuff is derivative and seemingly relies on fandom... And yet, their i1R style is found on many of my keyrings and pouch zippers, while their Perun Mini is actually the one that lives in my pocket 24/7.
I just got the i3T Eos for Christmas and it’s phenomenal. Best EDC light I’ve ever had

I love my i3t honestly it's a great flashlight has never let me down been through a lot definitely right up there with the Streamlight or Surefire in my opinion those are usually my go-to's o light is quickly becoming one of my new favorites for carry flashlights

Do any of these come with a lock out switch?? I like to carry it in my pocket but don't like a pocket clip. The first one you mentioned looks like it is a twist on. More secure than a push button in the pocket. Thanks for the review.

Balder pro as a quick removable rail mounted light *useful for rails you glued everywhere for gopro and camera mounts*

Swear they are cheap, reliable, and work very well for the "budget conscious," and with more quality control, it could be a really reliable caving and / or combat light too!
Sadly, no olight has survived a caving expidition with me or my team yet.
And as for combat cant trust it in a cave cannot trust it in the field, then either.
But as for a EDC gift and idk if i loose it or it gets stolen while out estate selling or such makes for a very very very good flashlight

@@Jackdman25 olight is expensive for what you get. surefire and streamlight are top tier quality, and they're American companies. plus olights have been known to blow up, I'm not sure if they do anymore, but they used to, it happened to one of mine. surefire is a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for, streamlight is a little cheaper, but it's still great quality
If we're talking weapons lights Olight is a chinesium company who has very little real-world experience with Firearms. Their products look good on paper but are just that. Designed on paper by people who are not even allowed to own guns. Some stream lights are made overseas but many are made here by actual firearm users
@@Logan12345 they’ve only been known to blow up when you mix batteries and put the wrong battery in the flashlight so that is one major downside you can only use Olight branded batteries but this is only for certain models I believe
@@rmblwgn OK so they look good on paper what exactly isn’t good in actuality the durability? The reliability? Because both of those seem fine to me I’ve seen many torture tests my friend has multiple I have one they’ve all been 100% reliable

Great list. I returned a Surefire EDCL-2T for an OLight Odin after comparing and being really impressed with the value and build quality.
Looking to replace/upgrade my EDC pocket light (Streamlight Micro USB), and your #1 is exactly what I was considering.
The Perun 2 mini is my fav it's sold as a headlamp but the light itself is extremely small for EDC and still 1100 lumans
I'm a big fan if streamlight flashlights since I'm a mechanic, but I'll definitely check these out cus I love flashlights
I’ve been looking for an EDC light for a while, and I can’t find one that fits a specific need I have. I’d like one with a strobe setting that is activated by a separate button from the main switch, and is rechargeable. The only option I’ve found so far is the Surefire Stiletto. Got any other recommendations?

I gotta a question for you. I have a civivi elementium, love it. I want the next step, something under 150 or close to it. No bigger than the elementium, light non metal grips, and most importantly fidgety.
That's a big budget with a lot of good options..steel? Lock mechanism preference?
@@maxlvledc steel isn’t to important, I hope everything around that price is decent steel. Lock mechanism just has to be able to be used with one hand. I would like something that is like a Button lock.
@ShrillyY hmm, I think a good target is $60-100. The Kizer tower K button lock is amazing, as is most of their button locks, the civivi Conspiritor, Altus. Vosteed Racoon is amazing.

Nah, I’m recommending the Arkfeld to everyone. Way bright enough light for whatever you’ve gotta do, and you can choose between a UV/Red laser for your other selection. Or both for slightly more.
Great build quality, easy to use, and they always release new colorways.
Plus, it’s rechargeable. I don’t like replaceable parts in stuff. If it’s taken care of, battery’s will last a long time.
I like the S shape clip, so you can point it in either direction, and clip on things like the brim of a cap.
I’ve had 2 i3Ts fail on me, not a flashlight I recommend to anyone. Very satisfied with all my other Olight products, i3T is a no go on my end.
I like my baton 3 pro. For as much as I use it I hardly ever charge it. It is easy to carry and has plenty of power when I need it.
I would want one with a simple slide on/off switch and a regular plain light bulb (like a PR2 for example).
No worries about EMP ruining a flashlight.
NON RECHARGEABLE too.
Warrior mini v1. Best ever. Bright, can start fire if needed, light, easy front pocket comfort

I love the i3t. Something a lot of people don’t know is you can run a 10450 lithium cell and it is a lot brighter. I tried running a 14450 in the i5t but it don’t work too much voltage which is why the i5r comes with a special 2.5 volt lithium cell. I also prefer to run the i3t either copper, brass or titanium as those metals make for better heat dissipation but it works in the regular aluminum ones as well.
Actually that's not accurate...best heat management is copper, aluminum, then steel, then trailed waaaay behind with brass and Ti.
@@maxlvledc well idk all I do know is I have that light in copper brass titanium and aluminum and the aluminum gets the hottest when running the lithium cell.

I’d like to get the job running those aluminum outer shells with all the superfluous, decorative milling work. Good money.
I like Olight, Ive owned 7 of them.
But the only rechargeable thats been relatively reliable has been the Seeker.
The only really reliable olights are the non rechargeable models, the S1 baton that accepts cr123's is a champ, and worked flawlesly until I lost it.
I ended up going over to Streamlight because the S1 was discontinued.
Streamlights that take CR123s have also proven to be awesome in my case, I carry one every day.
I love these but the Arkfeld should definitely be a contender too :)

I've tried them, and ipx4 sucks, 40lm is terrible (aaa version), and the USB version can only use 10440.
@@maxlvledc I've never had the non rechargeable one. I have the brown one it goes up to 250 and the battery last alot longer than the i3t in my experience. I carry the i5r though I just got one and I love that thing

That's hilarious because I actually carry a cheapo of number 1 and it's an amazing flashlight even as a crappie version.... Works good, it's really small and disappears beside an appendix carry. 👍

I'm eyeing the carbon I3T. Recently I came across two nice utility knives: Milwaukee 4932478561, Stanley 0-10-812 Quick Slide 2. They both have the pocket clip in a normal position, so you can pull it by the lanyard out of the pocket.
Get one on sale..it's way nicer in person.

i3t is great edc'd mine for 2 years i like that i can take it camping and can just bring some spare aaa batteries. also its really cheap to make a diy diffuser cap for it.
I love my baton 3 it's very surprising how much you actually will use a flashlight when you have one on hand. I have found so many lost things with that flashlight.
Nobody ever mentions on these olight ads that the lumens only last any where from mere secs to brief couple of mins then the lumens are usually cut in half or more.
It varies from light to light..but none of these have it shorter than 3 min (wm2).
That’s basically every flashlight that’s high lumen.

What's the difference in the I5R an the I5T ? I have a"T" I found it in a junk car ,I love it carry it all the time did realize it was so fancy till I just see this video.
The T only uses standard AA, also has slightly shorter top end before dropping and less overall runtime

My favorite lights. I have four i3ts, three i5ts, an i15, two Baton 3s, two Minis, and a Warrior 2. Just wish Olight would put usb-c charging on all their lights, I'd buy some other models if they did. Not a fan of proprietary features from any company.
