Has my attention also but the MK1 is so bright and doubles as a power bank. I also carry the warrior 3 so I don't see the reason for me to get the mini ya feel me
Love the metallic blue color. Wish they kept the USB-C charging of the Marauder 2 and not the magnetic charging. Magnetic charging is cool with EDC lights because if it's not too heavy, it could be stuck on metal surfaces to use the lights hand-free. This light is too heavy to hold itself on metallic surfaces. Also wish they didn't install the RGB emitters because how many people need or want RGB in their flashlights? Those emitter slots could've been used to make the flood light even more powerful and brighter. Still a good flashlight though.
Sometimes adding more emitters really doesn’t increase output until the light moves to multiple battery cells. Case in point, a D4SV2 with 26800 on FET is about 4000lm, and the DM1.12 with the same is about the same.
I actually like the RGB because I'll use it for hunting. I didn't buy the freyer because the output of the regular white light wasn't any better than some of my other lights and I wasn't going to just buy it for the RGB. Now this Marauder mini checks all the boxes for a hunting light for me.
0:08 i did purchase both, lol. I've bought a Wurkkos TS21 (i believe) which is pretty much flood with the capability of emergency phone charging as a powerbank and the TS11 which is a thrower with the added candle mode and moonlight mode with a diffuser - an all versatility tool. Both are incredibly compact, tiny even and fit inside a 1l nike swing bag on your chest. By no means are these work devices. I'm just someone casual that doesn't even need a flashlight to begin with, thus these two are just perfect for their capabilities. No long duration batteries are required other than occasionally towards the garden for a minute or two. Olight makes me uncomfortable. My first choice was a Olight too (the Baton 3 Pro) but I've had cancelled my purchase. They're nothing but all marketing and are the very first sellers that bothered asking me questions about their products on ebay. They kept bombarding me with discount price request (not by much) and were the first ones to ask me questions for a refund this far. Usually no one asks but processes your request. They're like the government. Super invasive.
Remember it comes with the cable, and it’s extremely small. Also, light is so efficient that I never have to charge it. Take the Warrior 3S for example, I EDC’d it for two months, using it at medium for about 30 min a day before I had to charge it.
i know right. i know people say it's just one extra cable i need to lug around, but compared to a usb c, I have those everywhere. i have like 3 usb cables in my backpack alone. i literally don't need to remember to bring one. but it is an interesting light.
I'm a flashlight freak and probably have around 120, I have from the early 1900s to today and that is one of my favorite ( my only problem is I got all the colors) I really like the materials and looks and the different modes.
The only thing I'm concerned are all these "SPECIAL" batteries you cannot find anywhere . Where I live in Toronto we had a store called "Batteries Plus" they had every type of battery imaginable . Now their gone and I have to stay with flashlight 🔦 that use Batteries you can find anywhere ,AA AAA ,C cell D cell
I just want to let you know that your videos convinced me to buy an Olight Warrior 3S and I swapped out the stock LED with your favourite XHP50.3 4500K LED. As always, keep up the good work!!
Excellent review. I was once an Olight enthusiast. Back in the day of the early Baton series. S1, S10, S15, S35. But their emitter choices bothered me as I became more tint aware. And programmable interfaces lured me away as well. I just didn't see anything compelling, aside from mini EDC (i1r2 EOS, EOS 3 AAA). Years later, Olight has really changed its game. The Marauder seriously impressed me, but not in my price range. The new Mini Marauder, totally changes the game. The proprietary battery is a bit painful, but if it holds up as well as past Olight batteries, it should last a good 5~10 years of regular use. I just hope Olight is still making those cells, or offers an adapter to utilize a standard cell like a 26800.
I think I'm at a similar place, yea. Tint is more important to me now and even tho there are lights that are brighter and lights that throw further, some products just excel at more than paper specs. I think the marauder mini is going to age really well, having usable Flood, nice throw with the round emitter, all colours and amazing usability with the battery and mode indicators and all that. We need more lights like this.
Love the build. Love the beam patterns. Not a fan of the UI. Hate the 10 second lock out. Although easy enough to turn on it's like the start stop feature on the new autos. It's just a button press but seriously who likes it! Not me. Love the color. Great review of the light!!! Thanks 🙂
I love this review. I became interested in this light the moment I saw it and have just seen your amazing review comparing the two lights with so much detail. Great Work
Great review mate, and i sincerely mean that. I had exactly zero questions about the light after watching the video. A like and a subscribe coming your way. I looked and saw 5.8k subscribers and thought to myself "shit, im gettin in on the ground action here" You have a calming voice, are very clear and concise in your monologue, shit you dont even make errors. I wish your channel all the best!
I love that they changed the battery from built-in to removable I love that they made a mini version of the marauder series I love that they improved the square thrower into a circle But man, I really wished that they kept the usb-c charging or maybe make another mini version with just the thrower and flood lights (without the colored leds). Their proprietary nature also kills me even though their ecosystem is great. They were this close to being such a perfect flashlight. This. Close.
what nobody seems to realize about their reasoning for propriety is that the design of their batteries is the ONLY way to achieve the performance they did in such a small light (see how long it held 6k?). It's the same reasoning as nitecore's i series. Yes there are brighter, yes there are longer lasting. But standard battery design was not efficient enough to produce these results. Rather than making the battery housing big for more or using a ginormous battery or sacrificing run time and allowing a rapid drop down, they instead engineered a battery that could do what you want. The propriety is due to them being the ones who developed it, it is just good business to go for a patent if YOU spent development dollars doing something better than the status quo. Now that doesn't mean it will always be this way. Patents end and then the other manufacturers can decide to either copy the design (and then you have more brands and a new standard) or use something that might have come out in the interim since. So really, your question of practicality and your subjective idea of a perfect light are actually switched. You are looking at what's closer to the perfect light, WISHING it instead were more practical.
@@FuffcatCouldn't have put it better myself. Personally, I think Olight deserve the highest praise for the Marauder Mini 2. It really is the closest thing I've seen to an all-purpose flashlight. In a perfect world it would be small enough to fit in your pocket of course, but that is just wishful thinking - at least for now. But the rate at which LEDs, drivers, batteries and reflectors are improving at the moment mean such a device may be possible in a decade or so. Who knows?
Personally I like the streamlight “dualie” concept with the flood at 90 degrees and throw straight ahead. Works great when walking with the flood lighting where you step and the throw available for spotting. Also works better as a Work light with the magnetic base. Wish more companies would make something based on that form factor.
Yeah but these guys want to fund the CCP to destroy the 2nd Amendment! They wouldn't dare take a stand when it inconvenienced them! Plus look at the pretty colors Olight offers! "Made in the USA"? Why, when we can sell out our country to communists for pretty colors!?
Hi there just curious as the why your tester for linens came up with 6000 lumens and not 7 thousand is your tester faulty something seems to be wrong olight offer a 5 year warranty on their torches so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't allow for a 1000 lumen fault
There are two possible reasons. 1) my tube was calibrated against a know test light. It is possible that it isn't in spec as much as it would be if it was a commercially purchased integrating sphere. So take the reading with a grain of salt, or use it comparatively against my other reviewed lights. But, 2) is the fact that most manufacturers overrate their lumens. We call them "Factory lumens" vs "OTF" or out the front lumens. OTF is always less because of loss due to optics, glass, and driver inefficiency. I have a couple flashlights from Prometheus that have lumens rated on their COA, and my tube is within 95% of what those say, so I feel confident I'm in the ballpark.
thank you for this wonderful review I was already going to buy this as an upgrade from my old Nebo 2100 after 8 years it's starting to show its age and for the price of the $160 during christmas($200 MSRP). This is going to last me for a long while.
Is m2 the recalled one? If it's the one I think, there was some issue, but the offer was less than what I valued the light, so it is still in the collection.
I bought marauder last year, I like it. I saw they just released a mini, I bought 2. My brother and I love flashlights. He gonna be surprised. Great Review. cheers Jon
As shown by Hank’s DM1.12 light, simply adding more LED emitters actually doesn’t produce more light unless the driver and battery also change. In this case, we would need an additional battery to make a large lumen increase (for amperage increase).
I don't have my marauder with me, but if i remember correctly it uses USB C with a cool aperture style cover. Why can't Olight just use USB C I love their flashlights but I can't stand their proprietary connector.
@@cheule I do see it's benefit, but every device I EDC or use while on a trip has usb c. So i don't want to remember to pack a different cable that only one device uses. I wish Olight would have used their aperture cover and USB C on the marauder mini like on the full size one.
OLIGHT Makes the best lights every type of light flash lights little lanterns for camping Play mega light for everything but I use the MR two pro warrior for my every day Carrie 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It really does look like a good jacket pocket light, except for the proprietary battery. I'd snatch one up in a second if it were not for that. Might still do it when on sale + an extra battery.
That “reputation” is actually just more of an urban legend. It has it’s roots in a real lawsuit, but the cause was not the flashlight itself, but cheap Chinese CR123 cells that the man involved was using. It was also reported that it was a 2S config, and he was using 1 fresh and 1 depleted cell. I’m just going to make a guess and say even though none of this was Olight’s direct fault, it probably really accelerated their use of proprietary battery configurations.
Honestly.... I'd much rather have the Emisar D4Sv2. Look at that wonderfully compact size. Sure it's not the most efficient. But that size, no proprietary battery and charging method; that just looks like a better option.
Great review. That blue finish is really clean looking. Thanks for the info. I bought a couple Hank lights based on your reviews. I still really think they are great in a nerdy, have to explain it to people kinda way. My wife isn't going to be as pleased.... The Maruder Mini / Array 2S combo looks like belated birthday present to myself if I ever saw one. Be well Clint
cool light for sure but 90k cd in a light of this size and price is a little weak. Same reason why i sold my marauder 2. The throw was just lacking a bit. But the flood on this and the usability is top notch. I will have to admit that the size of these lights doesnt come across well on video and its probably a lot smaller than a lot of people think, especially because it has the same design as the normal marauder. Another reason why i sold the marauder was that the x50 was so much better at flood, while being smaller. Probably doesnt apply to this one. On a sale this could be very attractive for sure
You make solid points. I will never argue against more candela in throw, but I will say that in actual use I find this light works well. You are also correct that this light is probably much smaller than people think. It’s one of the reasons I shoot against the green mat which has centimeter markings.
@@cheule yeah I guess lights like this that prioritize usability over raw performance in numbers are going to age well but we are at a point where the tech is moving so fast that most lights are already obsolete after 2 years. I usually end up selling most once that's the case, except for my very favorites that stick around for longer. For non enthusiasts that just look for one flashlight to keep forever it probably won't be important whether the performance is competitive.
Hi from Germany, very nice review years ago I already had to find out that USA Links don’t work for buying from Germany. That said, I just ordered Marauder Mini in Orange and will receive it Tomorrow. It will fit great in my Olight collection (about 15 lights so far) on the top end the X9R and the Marauder 2 collecting LED Lights for the last 15 Years I can agree with 99,9% of what You stated. Thanks for a great review.
Awesome review sir. You got me into lights now. 😎 Just subscribed. I've used flashlights before but never owned one. I would like to purchase one. I've recently started working for food delivery apps as a side hustle; usually at nights. My biggest obstacle is sometimes reading home adresses at night. Flashlight would resolve this. I've been researching for a few days for quality flashlight. I'm looking for EDC/compact flashlight that has a adjustable/zoomable/throw beam to ulliminate home address as opposed to flashing their whole home with a flood beam. Preferably something I can charge with a univesal cable like Type C instead of a proprietary. Any suggestions?
My favorite economical “pocket thrower” is the ThruNite TN12 Pro: ua-cam.com/video/0vHPQpQevlA/v-deo.html but if you wanted zero spill, just a hotspot, check out the Lumintop AntMan or Thor 2, which you can see both in action here: ua-cam.com/video/f5NYrVs0cuU/v-deo.html
Wow what a great light. The closest attempt yet to being the perfect flashlight imo. I agree with you it seems that running 2 channels with one button just seems like overstepping the boundaries of what can be achieved with one button. I think it would be neat to see two buttons, both running their own anduril on the flood and the throw independently.
I have the warrior x3....warrior x3 tactical....warrior x3 turbo....the archer...javalot mini and a bunch of the smaller flashlights....waiting for my marauder mini to arrive on tuesday....i must say i am very much impressed with all my flashlights....wouldn't buy anything else....i even have 4 obulbs i leave on at night for nightlights for my kids
“Better” can be highly subjective. Is the matching and features better? I think so. Is it as cost effective? As you said, no. But I will pay extra for the haptics, styling, and efficient driver.
I've got another itch now lol. Do you know if the throw emitter is the same as the javelot mini one? Looks similar. I also notice the palm trees are moving! Sometimes they're 110m sometimes 120m and maybe even sometimes 150m. Lol just a little raz. Love your reviews.
Ordered one tonight. I have rapidly developed an Olight addiction. Purchased 6 different models in the last month…. Any lights out there that blow olights away?
If you have the money, and are crazy enough to own one: Lumintop GT94x! There is simply nothing like it. Usually $600, but I got it for $400 during Black Friday sales at Neal’s Gadgets (not a sponsor). Alternatively, for edc: Oveready BOSS Future 35. The finest edc in the world IMO. ($500) My favorite sub $100 light is the Reylight LAN-Apple. A very class AA/14500 sized titanium EDC. Looks classic, like it was made by McGizmo.
@@cheule And mine just arrived today. It really is smaller than I thought and compared to my 12,000 lumen light which is huge, this thing is a great size and combo of throw, flood, and color.
God dam it I litrally bought the jav pro 2 and nitcore tm20k a few weeks ago now I feel this would replace them both as the jav is a little too extream long range and the tm20k dosnt have enough throw, last year I bought the warrior 3 a few weeks before the warrior 3 plus came out too, every time I buy the upgraded version comes out the next day
The throw channel for the Marauder Mini is the same emitter used in the Javelot mini. So it’s probably a bit more of a compromise than carrying two lights. But then again, it’s one light :)
Hello I have $150 for a flashlight. I want the best brightest flood/thrower I can get. Not sure if this is it or not, but just give me your top recommendation. What light do I want? Thank you
@@cheule actually bad recommendation my guy. Wurkkos ts32 is twice as bright and cheaper $129.99 on Amazon right now. It also has separate throw and flood modes but they can be used at same time, which the maurader cannot do. Maurader mini might hold at 5000 lumens longer idk but I'm sure you get much more bang for your buck from wurkkos ts32. Thank you for the response. No harm cuz you weren't aware but as a flashlight enthusiast I'd expect you to have the best recommendations for any price ballpark.. I'm not into flashlights at all, have no knowledge of the brands or anything, and I found a better light than your top recommendation within 20 minutes of searching. 👍 .. but all love. Set your mind on Christ, not on things on earth. I'm only temporarily setting mind on this stuff cuz helping my mom pick out a Christmas gift for me haha . If you have any recommendations what I could get her shoot them to me. No shame when I show you up on that recommendation too cuz you're not claiming to be an expert there. God bless you But go ahead and send me that maurader mini as a Christmas gift. Thank you. What's your Instagram? I'll message you my mailing address
I haven’t tried to disassemble yet. But the throw emitter is the same 5050 emitter used in the Javelot Mini (perhaps Yinding? Not sure). The flood emitters I’m even less sure of, but based on what Olight normally uses, I’m guessing are OSRAM P9.
Are you a flashlight scientist bro?! This is my first time seeing your channel and it was very impressive. I just recently got into lights and have been extremely impressed with how far the tech has come compared to my 5 year old streamlight. I now have a significant collection within the last two weeks.
This might be a stupid question. I have quite a few custom modded lights but none have the magnetic charging, my olights included. Is there any chance of shorting the battery from the tail end?
Have you tested the Lupine Betty flashlight? I just ordered the marauder mini. I am a fan of Lupine and will order the Betty flashlight next. I have the Betty headlamp and love it. Terrific channel. Way to technical for me, but I will subscribe and learn.
I’m not about proprietary batteries, but this light actually looks interesting enough for me to tolerate it once. This looks like an amazing, general purpose light for somebody to toss in a backpack, jacket pocket, etc, to serve a variety of needs. EDIT: this, and the arkfeld, are the two most interesting lights from Olight to me.
What watt charger or Power source can you use to charge the Marauder mini, nobody is talking about this. I understand you get a Magnetic USB cable for charging this light, but what safety works to plug cable into? Thanks
The MCC magnetic charging cable plugs into any USB-A port. Think computer USB port or phone charging brick. The rate it charges at, from 0.5A to 2A depends on the quality of the USB port. At 2A, expect the light to charge in a couple hours. At 0.5A expect it to take over night.
I got mine today and charging it for tonight. Wow it's smaller than I thought at first and has good weight that makes it feel better. I got the blue one which looks so nice to my amazing white seeker 4 pro which I'm testing both tonight. Can you do a comprising between seeker 4 pro v Marauder mini which is best? Very 8mpressed with marauder mini and box was so nice. You'll have years of great fun and use from this mini as I think build quality is top notch. I'm using it mostly a load 7000 lumens and red light will be useful to me. Thanks for video and have fun!
Good review. I think it has a lot of good points about the design of the marauder mini, but those ice cold emitters are a no go. I have the marauder 2 and I never grab it over a hank light because the emitters matter. I hate throw the term tint snob around because it is a bit negative, however I think tint matters more than lumens. I have some ice cold emitters and I cant even stand to look at them after using some nice hi CRI emitters in my hank lights.
I hear you. And around the house, and even on a dog walk I agree. But if I’m on a night hike, all I care about it performance, lumens, and efficiency. So I think this light has a place in my arsenal.
@Becky Trudel in my case, I work in a power plant where seeing color clearly is really important and a lot of cool temp lights do not show colors well.
There are more than enough cheaper flashlights, that can do both modes as well :D You have to shift the front piece on them instead of toggling a switch. I like the detailed review, tho
I would hate to be your neighbors at the end of the block where you keep shining these lights. I would get a really powerful one and blast you back lol. I first heard of this mini tonight on olights site and I might have to order one or 2. I would order the X9R or whatever that 25k lumen one is but the turbo and or high settings are crap for run time. I love powerful and throwy searchlights and love the looks/design and colors of the Olights. Would be nice if they could work on the run times on this 25k light or design a new more powerful light.
Awesome review sir! I’ve been looking for a good flashlight for my boat. I do lots of boating at night, and need something to spot buoys and Channel markers. I was thinking about the mini because it seems robust, and I like the easy charging. I also like the spot feature because using a flood at night, on white fiberglass tends to shoot back at you and is blinding. Curious if you had any other suggestions, or the mini would be a great pick or not. Thank you
I think this pre the AceBeam Terminator M1 (look for my review). The M1 is smaller, but less runtime and total lumens. I also think the marauder mini has more functionality with the secondary colors.
I bought this flash light specifically after watching this review. I had a question for anybody that may know, when you’re on the spot light mode has anybody else noticed a bluish tint to the center of the hotspot. Mine is ever so slightly there when shined on white wall etc. Now that I noticed it I can’t unsee it. I was just curious if this is normal, some stuff I’ve read stated it could be but other state that it could be a bad thing as well?
That is called “tint shift” and very common with many emitters. The solution is to stop “white wall hunting.” :) Nichia 219c are notorious for tint shift, as well as XHP70. I don’t mind it much!
Again I must say as great as it is lights that are dedicated to one thing be it flood or throw perform better. I have a baton pro max with great flood and one that is not much bigger that throws a half mile. Both are pocket friendly where that one is not. I live in central Florida and do not wear a jacket much. One is sans clip in my pocket and the max is clipped in.
If you look at lights like the DM1.12, it’s marginally brighter than 8 emitter lights, there is a point of diminishing returns when running so many emitters off a single battery.
The different colored light can be used for think like: green doesn’t spook wildlife, blue can be used for revealing blood while hunting (water remains “clear” while blood turns black under blue light).
Its still too big for me. I rather go with Olight Baton 3 or 4 non-premium as a flooder and a Lumintop GTA as thrower, to keep it very lightweight and portable! But in fact i go with Seeker4Pro as flooder and JavelotMini as thrower. Still very portable on my belt. What ill try very soon, im waiting to arrive: Warrior3S. It might be the best compromise between flood and throw. I already tried Baton3ProMax as a compromise but it sucks, its getting hot very fast even on High, not only Turbo. Thats a failed light, Olight! And you can see im a fan, not a hater.
Thank Cheule for this DETAILED review of the Marauder Mini. I have one question please. So far, you have had it for more than 18 months, does its battery still hold a lot of charge after being charged? From my experience, all the non industrial standard rechargeable batteries will hold very Little Charge after one year. That's why I have hold off buying this light for so long. I wish it used standard 1850 batteries instead. Thanks again.
I like this light, think the RGB feature is kinda silly though. Kinda like the laser or uv light on the arkfeld. Just extra filler that doesn't fit the indented purpose of the lights. Now a red light on the warrior series lights would make more sense to me or even on a baton.
does warranty cover the light.. they started to do lifetime warranties starting 2024 and Samsung updates for 8 years on their phones.. pretty humanitarians
To anyone that doesn’t know, red light is perfect for walking at night and not attracting every bug within a mile radius. I’m a late night fisherman and the red light is extremely clutch.
Great point!
Spot on. I wish more people would use red LED. Those people who say “ I love night camping”. Then blast a 7000 lumen every step of the way!
Red is also a frequency that doesn't jack up eyesight like a frequency near blue would.
@@r1w3d correct! This is why I have red L.E.D’s on at night. If I get up, I can move about but still get right back to sleep.

I agree on the charging, but I really like the RGB emitters, especially the red.
Watching this again in light of the green version coming out. The blue color looks really good.
0:08 i did purchase both, lol. Dammit man I just got into knives recently I can't afford to get into both!😂
As the owner of 5 different handheld o light models and 3 weapon mounted on light models, I'm really getting a semi over this marauder mini.
Dang... It's got proprietary charging. I will take a flappy-doo USB C port over a cable that I've got to remember to bring with me on trips.
Yup, literally the only reason I won't buy one lol
Remember it comes with the cable, and it’s extremely small. Also, light is so efficient that I never have to charge it.

Terrible reason to not own an Olight. Once you buy one or two then you have extra charging cables to throw in a bag with your others 🤷🏻♀️

Does this make the light brighter and what color temperature is this
Excellent review.
Thanks 🙂
Thanks for watching!
I love this review. I became interested in this light the moment I saw it and have just seen your amazing review comparing the two lights with so much detail. Great Work
Thank you for watching and your support!
I tried to get one, I couldn't figure out how to checkout. I went with the DM 1.12
It is released on the 22nd, as it says in my description.
Thanks for the amazing praise!
I love that they changed the battery from built-in to removable
I love that they made a mini version of the marauder series
I love that they improved the square thrower into a circle
But man, I really wished that they kept the usb-c charging or maybe make another mini version with just the thrower and flood lights (without the colored leds). Their proprietary nature also kills me even though their ecosystem is great. They were this close to being such a perfect flashlight. This. Close.
I would prefer if they ditched the RGB for more flood LEDs
what nobody seems to realize about their reasoning for propriety is that the design of their batteries is the ONLY way to achieve the performance they did in such a small light (see how long it held 6k?).
Rimettetela in promo, no?
Great review, very thorough, answered all my questions even astronomy, thanks I’m buying one!
I love your channel , are there any Facebook groups you would recommend for collectors to buy sell and trade these awesome torches?
Look for Flashlight Fanatics. Also Jackson Lee Flashlights and Knives.
Dont feed into proprietary batteries and chargers. This is the apple of flashlight
And I use an iPhone and a MacBook. I’ve made my peace with proprietary batteries a long time ago, as long as the equipment is worth it.
thank you for this wonderful review I was already going to buy this as an upgrade from my old Nebo 2100 after 8 years it's starting to show its age and for the price of the $160 during christmas($200 MSRP). This is going to last me for a long while.
It’s a phenomenal light. I haven’t heard of anyone who’s bought one that wasn’t impressed.
Great review! I think Olight may have hit it out of the park with this one..... M2 is an all-time favorite
Is m2 the recalled one? If it's the one I think, there was some issue, but the offer was less than what I valued the light, so it is still in the collection.
I bought marauder last year, I like it. I saw they just released a mini, I bought 2. My brother and I love flashlights. He gonna be surprised. Great Review. cheers Jon
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
I bought a marauder mini because of this video and I do wish they had taken out them red green blue leds to make the flood brighter…… anyone else????
As shown by Hank’s DM1.12 light, simply adding more LED emitters actually doesn’t produce more light unless the driver and battery also change. In this case, we would need an additional battery to make a large lumen increase (for amperage increase).
Bright enough for me when I'm camping in pitch black locations. 🏕️🤷
I don't have my marauder with me, but if i remember correctly it uses USB C with a cool aperture style cover. Why can't Olight just use USB C I love their flashlights but I can't stand their proprietary connector.
Increased water resistance is one positive of inductive charging.
@@cheule I do see it's benefit, but every device I EDC or use while on a trip has usb c. So i don't want to remember to pack a different cable that only one device uses. I wish Olight would have used their aperture cover and USB C on the marauder mini like on the full size one.
@@cheule i just discovered this channel and the information you give in your videos is great. Really love the content.
These lights are getting way too fun😂…. Is it safe to start calling them smart lights?
Great review. This will be joining my marauder , dm1.12 and 2 d4sv2 dual channels as night hiking lights .
I agree with you I might sell some of my flashlights and stick with the mini the mini does it all it's a great light thank you for sharing this 💕
Here we go. I knew I'd find you here shilling do olight
OLIGHT Makes the best lights every type of light flash lights little lanterns for camping Play mega light for everything but I use the MR two pro warrior for my every day Carrie 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
I really like olight and fenix, my brightest light is the fenix lr35r. I wish I could just buy every single one 😂
I do too!
It really does look like a good jacket pocket light, except for the proprietary battery. I'd snatch one up in a second if it were not for that. Might still do it when on sale + an extra battery.
Awesome review. I already have one on the way. Had I seen this review first I would have ordered sooner lol. Thumbs up video ~John
Dang wabbit.. jumping all around like that..
Totally lost interest at the proprietary 32650 cell. WHY WHY WHY???
Assholes, but I bought one anyway.
Standard fair for Olight. Doesn’t bother me much, but I know it bothers some people a lot.
What about the olight reputation for blowing up? Or is that relegated to only weapon mounted lights?
Be well
Clint
Thanks for watching!
What a great multifaceted light, and so stylish and attractive color scheme.Olight js a great company!
cool light for sure but 90k cd in a light of this size and price is a little weak.
Thanks for watching!
@@cheule you're awesome. I'll check them out. Thank you.
Anyone knows what the thrower with the Lumintop logo at the very beginning of the video is? Thanks!
Lumintop GT Mini, a really good 18650 thrower.
@@cheule Thank you! I was considering jacket-pocket throwers and that one looked pretty cool, I will check it out :D
Thank you very much for your review. It was really great and answered all my questions. Greetings from Verona-Italy.
Ciao Bella! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for using metric!
They’re great flashlights.
How's the switch? Looks like it's hollow and could be a place for dirt to get stuck. Also, does the switch slide or flip?
You mean the throw and flood toggle? It’s a very clicky switch that moves up and down about a mm.
Is it better than the Sofirn Q8 Pro?, which is half the cost.
My favorite sub $100 light is the Reylight LAN-Apple. A very class AA/14500 sized titanium EDC. Looks classic, like it was made by McGizmo.
@@cheule will check them out. The light addiction is a cruel mistress 😎
At $140 I'll buy this when it drops down again.
Olight does have regular sales.
@@cheule And mine just arrived today. It really is smaller than I thought and compared to my 12,000 lumen light which is huge, this thing is a great size and combo of throw, flood, and color.
Made for children with sensory issues. Tm20k FTW 🙏
Thank you
I absolutely recommend the marauder mini. Get it without reservation.
God bless you
But go ahead and send me that maurader mini as a Christmas gift. Thank you. What's your Instagram? I'll message you my mailing address
@@cheule 😂 just busting your chops there. Except the Jesus stuff legit and sending me the mini
Your neighbours must hate you hahaha. Excellent review thank you very much I want one
Nah, they love me.
what emitters? I'm only interested if I can swap them to something good; the website has no details
Thanks for stopping by! I’m just very enthusiastic about flashlights.
Amazing light. Really hits the spot, even in the literal sense
Wow! Good flashlight 🔦🎉
Gorgeous looking thing!
Great video by the way 👏
Thanks for watching!
This might be a stupid question. I have quite a few custom modded lights but none have the magnetic charging, my olights included. Is there any chance of shorting the battery from the tail end?
No chance of a battery short by touching the outside of the tube. Totally safe.
Hi all, does the marauder mini overheat? does it have cooling fans, Thank you
No cooling fans. Turbo on any light should be used for short periods of time. Used on middle output levels it does fine for extended periods.
Have you tested the Lupine Betty flashlight?
I just ordered the marauder mini. I am a fan of Lupine and will order the Betty flashlight next. I have the Betty headlamp and love it.
Terrific channel. Way to technical for me, but I will subscribe and learn.
I haven’t heard of that one yet, I’ll look out for it.
You were so right about this light it is one special little light I love it thanks for the great review.
It really is!
EDIT
I think you’ll enjoy this light. Get it at the special price with the links in the video description!
Video well done. Looking forward to giving this a go.
What watt charger or Power source can you use to charge the Marauder mini, nobody is talking about this.
I understand you get a Magnetic USB cable for charging this light, but what safety works to plug cable into?
Thanks
So long as the power source pumps out enough amps, the O-light SHOULD only draw what it needs and not more.
@@cheule
Thanks Bud👍🏻
I got mine today and charging it for tonight. Wow it's smaller than I thought at first and has good weight that makes it feel better.
I got the blue one which looks so nice to my amazing white seeker 4 pro which I'm testing both tonight.
Can you do a comprising between seeker 4 pro v Marauder mini which is best? Very 8mpressed with marauder mini and box was so nice.
You'll have years of great fun and use from this mini as I think build quality is top notch. I'm using it mostly a load 7000 lumens and red light will be useful to me.
Thanks for video and have fun!
I have the marauder 2 and it's amazing but I will always pick my Warrior 3 bc it has a good throw and wide hot spot
I actually chuckled during the beam comparisons when you turned turbo on that sucker 😂
It’s a really bright light. Very solid performer.
Not the same case if your eyes have red/green color deficiency. :D
@@ayokay123 Colorbling gang rise up!
I’ll never understand why people like warmer lights. I’ll pick a cool white light every time.
@Becky Trudel in my case, I work in a power plant where seeing color clearly is really important and a lot of cool temp lights do not show colors well.
There are more than enough cheaper flashlights, that can do both modes as well :D
You have to shift the front piece on them instead of toggling a switch.
I like the detailed review, tho
Thanks for watching!
Any recommendations?
Ya all those with projector lenses kinda suck tho
Only ships to USA? Unfortunate
I had no idea… that’s not good
I would hate to be your neighbors at the end of the block where you keep shining these lights.
No neighbors there! Hence why I use it.
Sorry but those colours are Efing useless they ruined a good light
I just ignore the colors for the most part, the flood and throw are very good on this light.
I'd definitely get this light if they'd ship to the EU. The black friday discount is pretty damn amazing. EU never gets these kinds of deals lol.
marauder vs warrior 3s
They’re so different! I can’t pick!
The solution is to stop “white wall hunting.” :)
Nichia 219c are notorious for tint shift, as well as XHP70.
I totally get it! I have way more lights than any one person should have, so my view is skewed.
The rgb just kills the light for me. Feels like a useless gimmick, and takes away 3 spots for white LEDs. Maybe the V2 will be more serious.
If you look at lights like the DM1.12, it’s marginally brighter than 8 emitter lights, there is a point of diminishing returns when running so many emitters off a single battery.
Di marauder mini esistono diversi tipi?
A cosa servono colori blu e verde? Per gioco?
Is there à temperature sensor just like pro seeker 3 ? To adjust brightness when there is an obstacle
Thanks for the review man !
There is a temperature sensor. The documentation mentions it.
Thank you for this detailed review. It is a truly amazing light. Does it come with a carrying case? It is a little bulky for a pocket.
It doesn’t come with a carrying case. I suppose a Lowepro 85mm lens case might work.
Buying this along with a baton 3 pro nw in the uk olight sale.
I just appended the new links to the description. Check them out!
The only downfall is their crappy propriety battery which is a greedy move on their part.
But to their credit..
Its Removable
I like this light, think the RGB feature is kinda silly though. Kinda like the laser or uv light on the arkfeld. Just extra filler that doesn't fit the indented purpose of the lights. Now a red light on the warrior series lights would make more sense to me or even on a baton.
Your neighbours must love you.
No kidding! What a chode
Looks great but I have the big Marauder. Happy with it.
I'd love an even smaller version (26650?), without the RGB.
26650 wouldn’t be any “smaller” but the handle would have about 10mm less diameter.
@@cheule yes, that's what I meant. Smaller in diameter.
does warranty cover the light.. they started to do lifetime warranties starting 2024 and Samsung updates for 8 years on their phones.. pretty humanitarians
Do your neighbors ever get irritated with you, lol? Great review.
They are actually really friendly, and have asked me for recommendations.
Forget the video, I’m here to compliment the watch band! Very cool
Haha! Thanks!
I can use the Red, Green and Blue in our annual Haunted House 😮
