Hey man, done my axles 4 times at this point. Used your video as a refresher every time. Curious to know how the double sided red boots are doing. Thanks man!
so far its working good. but that all depends on your axle angles and the usage. I just run on the sand and light dirt. once in a while ill spray the boots with silicone spray and clean them. do not use petroleum base products like WD40.
CVJ axle company outta Denver makes heavier red silicone boots for the inner... they are price-ee but they claim if you don't thrash them on rocks & sticks they'll last upwards of 10 yrs. The CVJ ones are heavier and tougher
Yes, I did add more grease, and yes, it probably wouldn’t have been easier just to remove the castle nut. I did, however, mark the upper portion. In theory, it all went back together, but just to be safe I’ll get it realigned.
@@infiniteprojects808 Mine is Amazon compliments of my wife. I just discovered my inside boots need replacement when I was changing my oil today. I might go with the silicone since I have a slight lift.
Just watched the whole video__ excellent, especially the detail about the big red o ring for anti collapse
Hope it helped in any way. 🤙🤙

I just did this. It is a nightmare. Aloha from Kauai.
aloha brother. gotta love it right. Mahalos
I’m your crazy neighbor
.? Where are you ?
What happened for those boots to fall apart in such a short amount of time?
Possibly due to stretching angles
Did you put more grease in the cv cup and would it be better to remove the castle nut from the upper ball joint so you don’t mess with your alignment?

Rust-oleum. Oil base. Its self leveling and turns to a hard shell

So far it good. I only do light off roading and mostly driving in the sand. Everything is fine so far, no problems with the boots at all.
Aloha, braddah how are these CV boots holding up after 7 months?🤙
So far no problems, no rips or holes. Only take it on the sand and holding up to the salt air

Do you have a part number on those inner boots? Or where are you purchased them from?
I got them from a local shop. but its the same thing at Trail Gear website. I just used it on both inner and outer.
I looked on the site but didn’t see them.
Do you have a description that you used or a part number?
Can you give me the part # or link to this product
I actually got it from D's Automotive, I listed the number in the description. he can also answer any questions.
how much did the boots cost?
A little on the expensive side at $170 for both, they also came with grease and the clamps
I stand corrected, the price is only for two pieces
It's cool but to much work!
Totally, its a lot of work with little rewards. Hehehehe. It keeps me out of trouble.
Damn, wasted a good piece of garage cardboard
not to worry, I have a cardboard sponsor. hahahahaha
