Got a question, if I change my settings in the file almost all of my games (The Blu, Space Pirates Trainer, The Lab, ...) start to stutter and they are unplayable. Even when I set it to 1.5 this happens. Can you please explain me what I am doing wrong? I have a GeForce Titan X on board.
The answer to resolution problems is eye tracking. We only need that super high detail on very small portion of screens, everything else can be safely blurred without any visual problems.This is something that works uniquely with VR, as it is both single-person use and placing a camera on said person's face won't be a problem, since they are already wearing something on their face.
it's more like a way to enhance the perceived quality, we need 2x2K or 2x4K screens really and more than that...the videocard to make it run (or that win10 decides to do what it was supposed to and make multi-gpu work instead of destroying it)
Can't believe ive had my vive for 3 months and only just discovered this. I have the same card so games like Elite Dangerous do end up struggling, but the other stuff i play like Paddle Up, Rec Room and Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades get the same massive increase in clarity but don't take as big a hit on fps. Massive thanks!
Hello @VRexperience I was wondering what is the max supersampling possible? Could we go to for example 4x with, I don't know two 1080 gtx? Just to know. Thanks :)
Great video :) i did it with mine and it looks better ! Would you mind sharing what software you use to record The mirror ? and what codec/options. I tried to upload some stuffs for friends but it doesnt look good... thanks :)
I just bought an HTC Vive today. I use an octacore i7 5960X @ 4.4Ghz with a 980Ti with 300 on the core and 400 on the memory on a custom water loop. What game and SS settings do you use for ED with your 980ti?
How do you manage to output your VR as a full widescreen display. I want this option so family can watch in the same room like the Steam Vive Trailer. Is it special software/hack/Dev code? It annoys me they have to watch a tiny cut down image of one eye. Thanks.
This is intersting.. this makes me think getting better display isn’t the answer for increased resolution just better gpu? What happens to screen door effect supersampled?
Cool video bro, my vive comes in the morning, tried an oculus demo today, was well blurry, took a chance on the vive and can't wait now since watch ur vid 👍👍👍
Vice blurry also,to be honest I got sick of the poor resolution and bought a 4K tv to game one and sold my vive, to me it was like playing a ps2 the graphics are so poor in the vive , I'm glad I made the switch as true 4K on a screen is what I bought a pc and expensive graphics card for,not a blurry vive, I feel wait till next generation of vr
Thanks.. I am thinking of getting a vive in next few weeks. HTC president says next version won't be out until 2018 end or 2019.. And, their aim is to basically make more accessories.
Thanks for this video - I play ED and the issue of supersampling has cropped up. You've helped me understand how it works. I have a 1080 so will crank it up to 1.5 to start with. Thanks again!
Be sure to grab ED profiler also, consensus seems to be dropping the in game SS to 0.65 then using the Steam VR SS is the way to go, frontier forums have more info :)
Will do - I will check that out. I cranked it up to 2.0 and the results were good but a little jittery inside the stations. Worth it, though. 0.65 and then 2.0 might be the sweet spot.
Amazing video. Not boring at all. Feel free to contact me if you ever want to overlay one video on top of another. That can be easily done in any video editing software. Cheers!
I don't know if I missed it but you didn't seem to cover the difference in scale considering the Vive defaults to 1.4x SS. If I change the setting to 1.2 in the text file, will I be in fact downgrading my experience or will it be 1.2x the original 1.4 setting? I wonder if it's the same for games like Raw Data or Solus, which have an in-game SS slider as well.
Sorry should have explained it better, even with the setting at 1.0 - the 1.4x setting still applies and is done internally with no user control. So the situation is with games like Elite Dangerous, you end up with 3 different lots of SS. There is the built in setting in Steam VR, the configurable setting in the text file and the in game SS settings also LOL. You only have control over 2 of them though.
Just bought a Vive, I was going to try this config but as I'm new to this I wondered how often people get errors in SteamVR/VR Games? I keep finding that when I 'Exit' games in steamvr, they never seem to fully exit and it all ends up freezing :-/ Keep getting a window pop up too saying 'Windows firewall blocked this application'. My spec is I7-6700K at 4.5GHZ, MSI GTX1080.
Great video about SS in VR. I've also been wondering about which video cards are going to be best for SS in VR. - 1x GTX-1080 or the new Titan or - 2x RX-480's using liquidVR (I'm looking for info on how effective this option is.) or - Should I just wait for the high end AMD card to release.
How can I tell if something is too demanding? With playing on a monitor I just have a FPS counter in the corner and I can tell if settings are giving me a hit. In my Vive headset I cant tell my FPS. Can't tell if my settings are putting me under 90 FPS. Can someone help?
Yup, it is a completely different game I think. Quite possibly the best large title for VR I think if you like space sims. What is more impressive is it never started life as a VR game.
so I tried this a few weeks ago and it broke my steam vr install... bad. it couldn't detect the headset anymore. I tried everything to get it working. reinstalled everything and even purged the registry. I had to format PC to get steam vr working again.
about to get my vive. I have a normal 980 SC edition. I know you are saying a 980ti for 2.0 or 2.5, but do you think I could run at 1.5 with my card? I mean of course I will try it and see. Just wanted to get some thoughts on it first.
Absolutely no reason why you can't run a lower setting, you just won't see as much visual impact as the higher ones :) there are a couple of titles where you can only get away with 1.5 currently.
how were you able to get this to display your FPS like that? Did you have that information projecting into the headset? If anyone could tell me how to do that I'd appreciate it!!
+Misanthrop39 Nidia VR drivers recommend for best result and frames to dedicate the second GPU to physx for supported games in VR( Nidia Funhouse as an example). thanks for the info. All is good.
Depends what sort of reprojection you are referring to, SteamVR already has interleaved reprojection enabled on all apps by default. This is why you will see some games cap at 45fps if performance drops below 90fps as frames are moved slightly.
new to this, but just got a vive and building my comp. do you think I could render at 2.0 without significant drop in framerate with a EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 Superclocked 6GB GDDR5, and i5-6600K 3.50GHz CPU? Any advice is appreciated
i advice that you get a 1070 even without super sampling, the games or rather said "experiences" are not very demanding and will probably run fairly decent on a 1060 with some supersampling (but not 2.0) but dont forget that the bigger games coming out in the future will be alot tougher to run similar to elite dangerous and project cars, i have a GTX1080 and 1.5 supersampling is the highest i can get in projects cars without having to give in on the fps, and you REALLY need to get the stable 90fps else its very annoying in VR better to have extra fps then a little bit better graphics, honestly i advice you to buy the 1080 if possible, for the future
order was already placed before i read this, no going back now really. comp should be here in a couple days. bummer. i think i was pretty much at my max anyway for what i could spend. hopefully my rig will be sufficient for a while. thanks for the reply man, maybe ill run into you in the rift. cheers man
Will I be able to run 1.5 SS? I have an i7 6850K, GTX 1070 SLI and 16GB DDR4 @ 3000mhz. For some reason project cars in VR does not produce stable frame rates. I can assure you that the frame rates are not 90fps. What gives? Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thanks
I had tried it briefly a few weeks ago but found it didn't work with some of my games. Will try it again with my gtx 1070 but i need a new cpu, mobo and ram. I5 2500k is a bottleneck even at 4.8ghz.
Are you using a 1080 card? I have a 980 Ti and I got a lot of stuttering when trying to supersample. I tried 2.0 and it was having issues. I should try dropping it to see if I can find the sweet spot.
Purchased The Blue last night. Very impressive work. Amazing animation. Only disappointment was the whale scene. It was so brief it looked like they rushed it to get it on steam.
Brilliant Video mate .. I built a new rig running a 1080 G1 on the new Intel i7 chip, air cooled and 16 gb of ddr4 ... on a new asus gaming board ... I am a complete noob when it comes to PC gaming, I have not overclocked my rig yet but as she stands she should be able to run 2.0 ... do you think ?
yes i have a gtx1080 and running elite dangerous in x2.0 supersampling and my frame rate is decent, except in huge space stations it can drop a little bit but its not too bad, for preject cars everything on mid settings and lowered the super sampling to x1.5 and it runs very good and very beautifull :)
Hey Neon thanks ... I just tried this .. running at 1.5 ... I did not change any of my settings which I think are pretty maxed out and WOW !!!! its just amazing .. thanks .... do you know how I can pull up the FPS withing Pcars ... as i did not notice any performance issues .. I am running a pretty beastly PC though .. thanks for the tips once again
MrNiceHk as in seeing how much fps you get? or actually getting a higher fps ingame? with that rig normally you should get a stable 90fps, you cant go any higher then 90 on vive
where is the link to download chaperone switcher????? Or can you just put the text somewhere so we can copy and paste it over our current steam vr settings text?
It normally boosts to 1350mhz however I can run it at 1470mhz on the core generally without issues. I have had it up to 1500mhz but not for long periods :)
yes, i also have a GTX1080 and the worsed in elite dangerous at 2.0 is a lower framerate in big stations but still playable, project cars i could get away with most settings on med and shadows on low and on 1.5 supersampling
Roger Trejos Monge no idea just know that he has a 980ti and you have a gtx 1080 and that has a 30-40% increase not including your CPU is also better so you will still get 90+ fps
I am gonna try ss at some point. I dont want to mess around with it jet because i jump from game to game and i am to lazy restarting steam everytime. I hope Xortex, Bowshoting, Hover Junkers, Audioshild and space pirate trainer become less addictive. So that i finally have time for Elite and the Solus Projekt.
+Neon i have over 150 vr games. Incl. raw data. but after unlocking everything there, there is not much sense in going back to it for now. Space pirate gives me that special kick. but i prefer Elves assasins and QuieVR right now. Bowhooting is so much fun in VR. And of course the Audioshild elite mode... 2 hours each day.... than i am done! love VR
in the steamvr section, under "mirrorViewGeometry" you can insert the line of text. Put a comma after the mirrorViewGeometry value, and then under that add "renderTargetMultiplier" and after that insert whichever value you want, then click save.
1.0 is the default in SteamVR however it applies a 1.4x supersample internally which you can't see. Essentially if you wanted to use 2x SS you would be Game Resolution x 1.4 x 2.0
Idk but i don't find 1070 increase dramatically with Supersampling, it actually started to drop frame rates, maybe 1070 itself is clear enough. It is a noticeable improvement over 970 in terms of clarity and text.
Lol why would you think that it will be anything close to 4K in a Vive 1? The resolution is 2160x1200 and 110° field of view. Compared to standart flat monitors providing something like 35° field of view, the Vive and Rift CV1 are something between 640x480 and 800x600.
***** Even though current VR graphic is not photorealistic, at least i can see real life size 6 feet enemy opponent in front of me compare to looking at the same opponent on my 65 inch tv. Huge difference. 1080p is still going strong since 2006, so if you want to see 4k or 8k resolution to be MAINSTREAM, you have to wait long long time and you going to miss out all the fun experience in a meantime.
nop I agree with him, I still have mine and i use it but no more than one hour a day, because you do have this wreird feeling , sort of hang over, slitly depressing. shit loads of people experience it.
It's just an AA. Is it really worth it? Might check it some day myself, but I am not convinced too much. You can't go beyond the tech, it is what it is. edit: PS- Unreal archaic? No. It is not. By far the superior engine on the market. It's easiest to use, so don't blame the tool, just the authors...
I'm running a strix 970 and i5-2450p. Not even going to try to SS my vive lol. Maybe once nvidia gets their shit together on SLI on a next gen gpu, it will handle it.
Tried this.....would not recommend it to the average vr gamer... like you said you need a SUPER PC.... i feel dizzy after 1 hour at these new settings..(fps=to low) I have a GTX1080 and intell I7 5930K
I have a 1080 and it's a complete monster in normal games but in VR it's hit and miss on whether you'll see a massive increase because not everything is currently optimised for the new nVidia technology inside the 10 series cards. When everything takes advantage of it, you'll be happy you went for the 1080.
Indeed i have another PC with a AMD R9 390X 8G also a very good gaming card when i do benchmarks of course the gtx1080 wins...but when i put on my HTC vive i cannot see any difference... weird thing is that during vr gaming i selden see the gpu hit maximum power..lets say only in about 20% of the time.....hmm
Awesome. You've got a new sub from me now. I just made a supersampling video too. I won't spam it here, but check out my SS experiment with Robo Recall on my channel.
totally redicilous, VR looks nothing like your monitor captured footage.The resolution is much worse, you literally can count pixels.Everybody that tell you the opposite is just detached from reality in an insane way.The day people stop to upload their 1920x1080 monitor screen capture footage and slap "VR footage" on it, but instead upload a 1280x960 resolution footage clip and slap "ACTUAL VR EXPERIENCE" on it we are much closer to the truth. And yes, i own a vive myself P.S. my point is: rendering inside the VR-Headset has nothing to do what your monitor renders, it has its own.
Supersampling reminds me of watching a 4k UA-cam video at 4k resolution in the youtube settings, but over a 1080p monitor.

This is now with the Vive Eye, about two years later :)
We have arrived.
Can't believe ive had my vive for 3 months and only just discovered this.

Thanks for the info, thought it was well spoken and easy to understand. The comparisons were good too thanks.
You should put your computer specs in the description...
Awesome stuff! Thanks for the video. Great work.
Good video...I had my vive for 3 hrs before it wouldn’t work...can’t wait to get it back.
Subscribed, favorited, liked.. everything... awesome mate. Thank you
totally agree, i was amazed how much better the games looked. And the screen hardware is great but graphics cards not quite there yet
Thank you very much! Very good video!!
Hello @VRexperience I was wondering what is the max supersampling possible? Could we go to for example 4x with, I don't know two 1080 gtx? Just to know. Thanks :)
superb vid,using a 980ti & after trying all your settings i found that 1.5 works well as an allrounder,any improvement is a plus.thanks.
Thank's for sharing. Elite Dangerous run very smooth and clear with an Oculus Rift at default settings such a difference ?
Great video :) i did it with mine and it looks better ! Would you mind sharing what software you use to record The mirror ? and what codec/options. I tried to upload some stuffs for friends but it doesnt look good... thanks :)
Great video. Does NVidia DSR have any affect on VR? Thanks.
I just bought an HTC Vive today. I use an octacore i7 5960X @ 4.4Ghz with a 980Ti with 300 on the core and 400 on the memory on a custom water loop. What game and SS settings do you use for ED with your 980ti?

What happens to screen door effect supersampled?
Cool video bro, my vive comes in the morning, tried an oculus demo today, was well blurry, took a chance on the vive and can't wait now since watch ur vid 👍👍👍
Aidan yeah love it, can get a stable 1.5 super sample on all games too, glad I chose the vive over the oculus
How much difference between oculus vs vive without super sample vs vive at 1.5 super sample? I also experienced oculus to be blurry at a demo..

Great video about SS in VR.
I've also been wondering about which video cards are going to be best for SS in VR.
- 1x GTX-1080 or the new Titan
or - 2x RX-480's using liquidVR (I'm looking for info on how effective this option is.)
or - Should I just wait for the high end AMD card to release.
1080 or the new titan
What is the download website for the Steam VR Chaperone Switcher.
Need Help!
How can I tell if something is too demanding? With playing on a monitor I just have a FPS counter in the corner and I can tell if settings are giving me a hit. In my Vive headset I cant tell my FPS. Can't tell if my settings are putting me under 90 FPS. Can someone help?
Does this solves the problem of seeing pixels in the device?
how can i follow the steps of a tutorial when the download for the Chaperone Switcher dosent even work ?
i wonder how this applies to current gpus like 7900xt pairing it with the OG vive and supersample it to 2.5
SO FAR, on the new EVGA 1080 SC I bought, I can render at 2.0 at 90fps and it makes a HUGE difference to my experience in VR.
Yup, it is a completely different game I think. Quite possibly the best large title for VR I think if you like space sims. What is more impressive is it never started life as a VR game.
Think you replied to the wrong comment.
What cpu are you using?
...what is that deep sea ocean SteamVr home environment??
so I tried this a few weeks ago and it broke my steam vr install... bad. it couldn't detect the headset anymore. I tried everything to get it working. reinstalled everything and even purged the registry. I had to format PC to get steam vr working again.
thank you.
What's the monitoring tool you are overlaying? Sorry for the noob question. Just haven't started monitoring usage until now.
That's EVGA Precision X - can be tricky to have it working with VR though :)
VRexperience And how did you get it working? I have RivaTuner, would be nice to have it working in VR, as well.
thanks so much
about to get my vive. I have a normal 980 SC edition. I know you are saying a 980ti for 2.0 or 2.5, but do you think I could run at 1.5 with my card? I mean of course I will try it and see. Just wanted to get some thoughts on it first.

how were you able to get this to display your FPS like that? Did you have that information projecting into the headset? If anyone could tell me how to do that I'd appreciate it!!
EVGA precision X gets the job done, you only see it on the monitor though :)
what card are you running to render the frames? I have 2 980ti one for graphics and the other for physx. any info is great. thanks.
Don't do it!
Let the auto select do it's job.
Physx i'snt that hard to handle so it's a wast of resources dedicate such powerful card for it.
+Misanthrop39 Nidia VR drivers recommend for best result and frames to dedicate the second GPU to physx for supported games in VR( Nidia Funhouse as an example). thanks for the info. All is good.
Is super sampling affected by having reprojection on/off? Do you use reprojection with super sampling?
Depends what sort of reprojection you are referring to, SteamVR already has interleaved reprojection enabled on all apps by default. This is why you will see some games cap at 45fps if performance drops below 90fps as frames are moved slightly.
cool dog!
why does my steam vr config file does not have any of the code in it?
One thing I noticed is the space between the quotation mark and the colon in the other lines of code. Guessing it's not critical?
Doesn't seem to, however I leave a space each side, matching the original code, this was just a sample for the video.
Brookhaven has a super sampling slider in the options menu that makes it look WAY better.
new to this, but just got a vive and building my comp. do you think I could render at 2.0 without significant drop in framerate with a EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 Superclocked 6GB GDDR5, and i5-6600K 3.50GHz CPU? Any advice is appreciated

Will I be able to run 1.5 SS? I have an i7 6850K, GTX 1070 SLI and 16GB DDR4 @ 3000mhz. For some reason project cars in VR does not produce stable frame rates. I can assure you that the frame rates are not 90fps. What gives? Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thanks
i downloaded the app whats a good render target mulitplayer number i have a vive with 2 1080 graphic cards
Tim Barbosa 2-3 should be about 50-70% faster than his results
Any chance on giving an update?
what would u suggest with the settings for 970 graphics card?
Martykoi bet it works at 5 fps
New Retro Arcade has in-game settings to change SS. That's why the SteamVR settings have little to no effect with it.
I usually just keep the super sampling thing open in the background and adjust it to what game I'm playing ;P
Ha, you JUST said what your GPU is the minute I commented.
did you find a sweet spot mate?
It looks like around 1.4 or 1.5 works well for me.
Nath Ras on 980ti?
What was the underwater thing in your vid? You mentioned the blue... Is that it?
Yup its TheBlu :)
+VRexperience it looks quite nice. I didn't buy it because i recall it was criticized for being very short.
Grammaton Feather It is short which is why I haven't done a video on it, it is beautiful though and still worth a go if its decently priced :)
+VRexperience you've made me determined to apply supersampling for my vive. My i5 2500k is gonna be history when i get home. New 4 or 6 core.
Purchased The Blue last night. Very impressive work. Amazing animation. Only disappointment was the whale scene. It was so brief it looked like they rushed it to get it on steam.
will supersampling work well with a pc with intel core i7 and Nvidia GTX 1070 graphics?
Aron James that's what I want to know too. ...
I fear that FPS drop :/
Should i use 2.0 multiplayer, if I have GTX 1060?
Jiří Valtr I'd say a 1.5 would be good enough for you I have mine set to 1.5 with 1070
Would a GTX1060 (6gb version) be enough for about 1.5x oversampling?
MaxArceus No
@@Bbbhfhcs Rly? :( I though it would be enough.

where is the link to download chaperone switcher????? Or can you just put the text somewhere so we can copy and paste it over our current steam vr settings text?
Easier to just edit the text file :)
Yeah, but I don't know what the hell I'm doing :) Can someone help me with this so it's simple as possible?
Awesome video. What speed is your 980ti overclocked to?
It normally boosts to 1350mhz however I can run it at 1470mhz on the core generally without issues. I have had it up to 1500mhz but not for long periods :)
I've got my 1080 core boosting to 2050 MHz without issue. Does this sound right to you?
Yeah that sounds great for a 1080 I think most struggle for 2000mhz. Depends how long it can hold boost speeds though as they get hot quick.
it seems fine after hours of gaming. Max temp I've seen is 79 C. I cant wait to try it with the SS on my Vive when I get it
You will love it :)
why do I only have this in my vr settings?
{
"keyboard" : {
"TutorialCompletions" : 1
},
"steamvr" : {
"CycleBackgroundImageTimeSec" : 3600,
"background" : "#0D0D0DFF",
"backgroundUseDomeProjection" : true,
"directModeEdidPid" : 43521,
"directModeEdidVid" : 53794,
"mirrorViewGeometry" : "0 0 1080 600"
}
}
whats that first game your playing?
the blu
Have you tried any other value ? 2.0 ? Is it good too ?
I have tried 1.5 also but I can generally get away with 2.0 :)
VRexperience yes I tried 2.0 with a 1080 but despite some judder in some stations in ED it's playable.
is this method in this video still works? thanks
Yup it works fine, if something changes, I will do a new video for everyone. Keep in mind Unreal Engine games have no effect.
yes, i also have a GTX1080 and the worsed in elite dangerous at 2.0 is a lower framerate in big stations but still playable, project cars i could get away with most settings on med and shadows on low and on 1.5 supersampling
Do you think I would be able to run games at 2.0 supersampling? I have a GTX1080 and i7 7700k
Roger Trejos Monge yes
everything should be 30-40% faster than him
QuietSpaceGaming Thank you! How about 2.5? Is there a big difference?
Roger Trejos Monge no idea just know that he has a 980ti and you have a gtx 1080 and that has a 30-40% increase not including your CPU is also better so you will still get 90+ fps
so if you wanted to push it try 3 might work but 2-2.5 would be little-no problem
I am gonna try ss at some point. I dont want to mess around with it jet because i jump from game to game and i am to lazy restarting steam everytime. I hope Xortex, Bowshoting, Hover Junkers, Audioshild and space pirate trainer become less addictive. So that i finally have time for Elite and the Solus Projekt.
i have exactly the same problem, also! test out raw data!! space pirate trainer becomes dull after that
+Neon i have over 150 vr games. Incl. raw data. but after unlocking everything there, there is not much sense in going back to it for now. Space pirate gives me that special kick. but i prefer Elves assasins and QuieVR right now. Bowhooting is so much fun in VR. And of course the Audioshild elite mode... 2 hours each day.... than i am done! love VR
Chris Braeuer ok gonna try that elves assasins and quieVR :p
What would I get with a 1050 ti?
jiaming yao not much.
I have the rx 480 and can barely push 1.3....
Can I put it up to like, 1.5 instead of 2.0?
you most certainly can. It'll be a bit less of an improvement, but still an improvement.
Would an RX 480 be able to even remotely use this setting?
***** That I don't know, I myself have a 1060, and I think about 1.5 may be achievable, but I honestly just don't know.
Doing 1.8 in elite dangerous on 970 but still fine tuning the settings
super samplings been around for a while for monitors, its going to make you wish you had money for 3 titan xP... lol
steam vr now has this setting in developer u can change with a slider bar to change super sampling
Bush Bavaria how do you do this?
How do you Enable?
Where is this located?
David Villa hotel trivago ?
what about a 1070? what is the max ss value?
Considering the slider is different now you could probably get away with 2.0 and turn off the image sharpening filter.
What could I pull off
with i7 7700k and vega 64?
i have i7 7700k and asus 1080 8gb and 16gb ram 3600mhz is it going to work or it will damage my shit plz answer guys
my steam vr config file only has this text {
"camera" : {
"enableCamera" : true,
"enableCameraInDashboard" : true
},
"keyboard" : {
"TutorialCompletions" : 1
},
"steamvr" : {
"directModeEdidPid" : 43521,
"directModeEdidVid" : 53794,
"mirrorViewGeometry" : "0 0 1080 600"
}
}
and it wont let me download chaperone switcher
in the steamvr section, under "mirrorViewGeometry" you can insert the line of text.
Put a comma after the mirrorViewGeometry value, and then under that add "renderTargetMultiplier" and after that insert whichever value you want, then click save.
Caleb Trapp Even after I super sample my games don't look any different
Nice video. But you have the default base value shown as 1.0 ... when in fact the default supersampling is 1.4 . apart from that, awesome vid.
1.0 is the default in SteamVR however it applies a 1.4x supersample internally which you can't see. Essentially if you wanted to use 2x SS you would be Game Resolution x 1.4 x 2.0
thanks, i didnt know that
my problem not the resolution at all .. my problem that im always seeing black dots (pixels).
and im spending avg 1 hr every day to find a solution ..
dead pixels?
Hildebert nah. Like i can see the edges of every single pixel.
And also the sharpness is not good or clarity.
I have gtx980
Are you talking about the SDE (Screen door effect) maybe? If so there is nothing you can do about that now, it's a limitation of the hardware and VR.
Compared to standart flat monitors providing something like 35° field of view, the Vive and Rift CV1 are something between 640x480 and 800x600.
vr is all about immersion and not just a pretty graphic. Graphic in VR is way plenty good HD quality to give immersive experience.
***** you must be one of the very rare picky person. I've heard tons of Vive owners love VR experience.
nop I agree with him, I still have mine and i use it but no more than one hour a day, because you do have this wreird feeling , sort of hang over, slitly depressing. shit loads of people experience it.
you bought ti yet?
jamie campbell i already have a Titan XP which is still faster watercooled
It's just an AA. Is it really worth it? Might check it some day myself, but I am not convinced too much. You can't go beyond the tech, it is what it is.
edit: PS- Unreal archaic? No. It is not. By far the superior engine on the market. It's easiest to use, so don't blame the tool, just the authors...
TheCrusaderBin in elite dangerous the improved text fidelity means it goes from unplayable to enjoyable
got it 980ti.
add the asus 1080 is strix
He's using an overclocked GTX 980 ti
i have a 1070 rip
If only elite supported nvidia SMP.
I'm running a strix 970 and i5-2450p.
Not even going to try to SS my vive lol.
Maybe once nvidia gets their shit together on SLI on a next gen gpu, it will handle it.
SLI works fine, its the developers that are holding up progress as they don't add support into titles.
VRexperience The fault in support lies on both ends.
Tried this.....would not recommend it to the average vr gamer... like you said you need a SUPER PC.... i feel dizzy after 1 hour at these new settings..(fps=to low) I have a GTX1080 and intell I7 5930K
dont bother buying a GTX1080 you will be disappointed!! we need SLI in VR.....then go for 2x new TITAN X (first sell your car....hmm)
Titan X is on my list :)
IF YOU ARE HAVING POOR PERFORMANCE TRY SETTING NVIDIAS PHYX TO CPU ONLY VIA NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL!!!
Awesome. You've got a new sub from me now. I just made a supersampling video too. I won't spam it here, but check out my SS experiment with Robo Recall on my channel.
I cant figure this out. I typed in what you did, saved and shortcut... now for some reason almost everything is gone and no SS.
sad face.
Vive, why are you so expensive????
Mason I know.....They wonder why uptake is so low.
because it's an impressive piece of tech that costs to produce.
HybridEnergy indeed. I got a rift due to pricing. It's amazing. No doubt the vive is the same.. (but with better tracking)
totally redicilous, VR looks nothing like your monitor captured footage.The resolution is much worse, you literally can count pixels.Everybody that tell you the opposite is just detached from reality in an insane way.The day people stop to upload their 1920x1080 monitor screen capture footage and slap "VR footage" on it, but instead upload a 1280x960 resolution footage clip and slap "ACTUAL VR EXPERIENCE" on it we are much closer to the truth.
And yes, i own a vive myself
P.S. my point is: rendering inside the VR-Headset has nothing to do what your monitor renders, it has its own.
