    I liked the beginning where you were straight to the point and then details to follow. No one ever does that and it drives me crazy to watch a 10 min video to find out 30 seconds of information haha. Needless to say, I still stayed to watch the entire thing.

    To answer your question: Yes, I do enjoy these little updates. They're not necessarily helpful to me but that's because I have a rift and not a Vive. I do find your content about Vive accessories fun, because any development in VR is fucking awesome.

    Your updates on the Vive are great. I've committed myself to wait for the Version 2, for when it comes out. What a great, soon to be, self Christmas present, if they would just announce a date before I wet my pants.

    THIS IS THE EXACT VIDEO I HAVE WANTED FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS!!! Seriously, the followup on the Vive and Chill and even the deluxe strap was what I needed to pull the trigger on the indigogo. I already got the strap, but I did wish there was a more concrete review after the ordeal.

    I just covered the back of the Deluxe Headstrap with black electrical tape. Sweatproof and prevents the original "black stuff" issues without having much of a comfort impact.

    Alright dude... sold... My headstrap will be in whenever amazon decides to send it- on backorder right now. Like the vid with Jerry about your green screen setup... making me get some screens to section off my room and do the same!

    I've got one of their newer versions of the Deluxe. It now has black sponge. The old version had grey looking sponge. It doesn't seem like anything is crumbling off from it.

    Really thinking of backing the ViveNChill but it seem like so many indiegogo miss there ship date and I would hate for that to happen here with my money. Do you feel like when you talk to devs that they really believe they will ship by 9/17?

    I got a replacement foam for my vive (& rift) shouldn't have been necessary but there you go.. I REALLY want the deluxe strap but can't bring myself to buy it for 100 green queens! Gotta say though, when you hold up the thing at the beginning of the vid, I thought MONSTROSITY! Good vid guy.

    Great video as always! Another problem with the DAS is that the headphones won't pop in enough for people with narrow heads. I don't even use the earphones because they don't sit close enough to my head. The room noise is just too much. If I gently apply a little bit of pressure with my fingers they sound great but that is obviously not a feasable solution.

    Hey man, if you are still having trouble staying cool looking into the Tillman sheepskin headband, I am a welder in southern california and this thing is a night and day difference in staying cool in the hottest of temps. It would take some modding to get it to fit but nothing a sharp pair of scissors couldnt fix. They normally run under $10, last many years and just has button snaps. In all honesty i dont know why they just dont implement standard welding headgear to hold vr to your face there is no need to reinvent the wheel here.

    @TribalInstincts I believe that issue you have with the Vive n Chill being pulled up is only caused by two things, you are using the 3n1 cable, which has way more play in the movement of that clip on the side of the Deluxe Audio Headstrap. Also, I would recommend you reroute the 3n1 cable to the other side of the Vive n Chill.
    That block on the cable with the 3n1 breakout is supposed to sit against the clip on the side of the Deluxe Audio Headstrap. That is how mine is and it keeps it snug even considering the expansion of the headstrap. This probably could obscure the Vive n Chill fans...but have you tried it? I noticed the Vive n Chill launch video does not have the Deluxe Audio Headstrap.

      Like the eyes of a potato, it is also important not to cover up any of the IR sensors throughout the surface of the Vive when you secure your cooler. My guess is that you already know that. Good luck with the gluin' :-) 🦊

    I have just purchased both the deluxe audio strap and the vivenchill. So this was a great video to see some of the issues ahead of time. However, maybe I couldnt quite see how the cables are plugged in and routed in relation to the fans... but is it really not possible to just route the cables behind the fan? As opposed to being in front of the fan? Is that issue still happening no matter where/how you route the cables?

    Now if they can just bring out a VR headset that is wireless. I still remember when the first wireless headsets came out it was so much better. The first headsets they only lasted like a couple hours before recharging but batteries are so much better than they use to be even if they could make a HMD that lasted 2-3 hours would be good but have a way to plug in a power source and use it the old fashion way.

    God video man! Can always rely on you for useful information.
    One thing you kind of missed was how the vive n chill is performing a month on. Is it still making as big a difference to the length of time you are able to spend in the headset?
    Any noise problems from the fans? Vibration?
    Thanks for the vid. :)

      Ah sorry, I probably should have called it out explicitly. No. All is well :D Due to work though, my VR time is limited more by external forces than my own heat/comfort so I can't weigh in on how much it impacts me there

    No Thanks. I got the Oculus Rift and they got it right from the start BUT you mentioned that you can scrub the heck out of the new deluxe HMD strap and its fine . Then your thinking it wont last 6 months? THAT THING COST A HUNDRED BUCKS.
    If i were you i would be having buyers remorse right about now. :O) Loyalty only goes so far with a product that was made in china. But what do i know...... I'm just an enthusiast .

    $800 Vive + $100 Delux audio strap = $400 Oculus Rift
    As much as I like the vive, the math doesn't make sense.
    Prediction: Vive 2.0 releases with audio strap included for $500-600 in 6-12 months (with hand tracking knuckle controllers in development), as Oculus sales catch up and surpass both Vive and PSVR sales since their July price drop.

    • @TheLonelyViper
      @TheLonelyViper 7 років тому

      I dont see HTC subsidizing Vive the way FB does for Oculus, so probably not!

    • @iamdmc
      @iamdmc 7 років тому

      You're right about that
      but they need to survive in a market that's started the race to the bottom
      With the 3 VR/AR headsets to release this year from Microsoft partners between $300-500, and many cheaper independent-brand headsets being released, discounting is imperative. Even at $600 HTC will be making money. If they were truly smart they would get into game development - and make up the shortfall that way. That's what sells consoles / expensive accessories.
