BROTHER ... I don't know who's complaining about you and your delivery, but you are one of the most authentic, substantive, and relevant music Tubers on UA-cam ... musicians are FORTUNATE to have you and your channel ... ALWAYS thankful for all you do ... non better 👊
Thank you so much, DC. And that you for participating and contributing on the chat the other day. That was a great help. Cheers!
Well structured and well paced so everyone can follow. 😊
Thank you, Peter!
This channel saved my life. Im finally able to edit drums in ez drummer 3 without feeling like a complete novice.
What a great comment to read!
Especially liked the Tap2Find example :) and the music box analogy.
Thank you for saying, Pat!
Three things I love about this one, Shawn: the music box analog (bonus ❤ for the music it makes!), the little circle to clear a filter (I never thought to try that), and selecting time signature first (also never thought of that).
I consider myself intermediate on all of this and since I’m somewhat self-taught (with lots of guidance from ), I like to watch the beginner level stuff to catch the gaps in my journey. Rock on!
Thank you for the feedback, Scott. I appreciate you time!
I understood midi before but the music box comparison is brilliant! Your clear and slow speaking makes it so easy to follow and learn from you.
Thanks for your all your help!
Thank you for saying, Michael!
I agree - the music box analogy is very helpful. Thanks, and I'm sure I'll be back and will contribute!
Selecting the time signature was something I never done, This is really helpful, Thanks Sean, all this info is much appreciated
Great to hear. Thanks for saying!
I’ve been having trouble with my electronic drum kits who can get up to EZ drummer 3 . I haven’t had easy drummer that long I was looking for some ideas from people and your web UA-cam page popped up and I said heck yeah and so far yours is one of the best the best.
Thanks for saying! If you're still having issues do reply. May be able to help.
Amazing tutorials man they're one of the main reasons i got ezdrummer, knowing i wouldn't be lost.
This comment makes my day! Come back when you're ready for more :)
Amazing tutorials! It got me started in no time with EZD. Great concise explanations, love it! Thanks 🎉
Thank you for saying!
Groovy grooves tab lesson. Groove on! 😊
Shining!
A very pedagogical approach in all your videos, thank you so much!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👋🏼
Thank you for saying! I had to look up "pedagogical". Great word, I will take it!
Excellent content and, as in all the others, so well presented. I picked up my EZ Drummer 3, listened to many of your videos and within 15 minutes of opening the program for the first time last night, had put together a track! This weekend I begin adding these grooves to my original tunes. All thanks to you. Probably the best page I follow in terms of usefulness and ease of comprehension. I will certainly be supporting this channel.
Your comment makes my day. Thanks for taking the time to say!
another very good video - well organized and produced
Thank you for saying, Thomas!
Shawn it’s astonishing. What I thought I knew was expanded by this video quite a lot. Thx. Againthis is a great tutorial.
Great to hear, Tom. Thanks for saying!
Your simply the best. I will contribute soon. It's always on my mind when I am learning from you. Thank you man. 🙂
I appreciate you saying, Joe!
I don't know if I'm a "beginner" or not. If I was to use the frequency spectrum as a reference I'd probably say I'm in the low mids. But these beginner tutorials are great for me when I load up EZD3 and work along with you. A twelve minute video takes me 20 minutes to get through because I pause the video and play around with what you're showing, and I learn things I hadn't noticed before and definitely improve my work flow. Keep it up Shawn, I love your content.
LOL... heading towards upper-mids soon!
Thank you, Rocky!
Your tutorials and teaching “style” are the best on the untranets! And a great voiceover..voice. thanks for all you do!
Thanks so much for saying, Odditee.
NB : side note : just realized the "muted" snare articulation in Superior Drummer (available on some kits, like : Avatar, Allaire (not available on Hit Factory sadly), etc), sounded like a moongel-ed snare and sounded absolutely badass for strong hits, instead of the normal "center" articulation
EDIT : you can also control the ring of the snare with the envelope section of the snare, but it's not the same ! The envelope will shorten the ring but it's still there if you're using the "center" articulation, whereas the "muted" articulation (without touching the envelope) keeps the snare length but tames the ring
Excellent presentation on core information using EZ 3.
Thank you, Rick!
Fantastic video.
Great explanation!
Thanks!
Very helpful, thanks for the lesson.😁
Than you, D!
Thanks. Didn't realise that the grooves change to the tempo I have set.
Colleen. Thank you so much for becoming a Member!!!
Thank you!
You got it!
Brilliant
Thank you, James!
great vids
Thanks!
Gold, as usual Shawn. Keep up the great work. Dropped you an email a while back don’t know if you got it ?
I missed it if I didn't reply. I'll reply tonight. Otherwise, reach back out.
Thanks 🙏 ❤
Thank you!
Thanks
You got it!
Such a great comparison between the music box drum and midi!
A stupid question, but will Superior Drummer packs work in EZD3? I’m guessing the answer is no, but couldn’t help noticing the Hitmaker pack in your sidebar, which I would love to have.
Thank you for saying, Jim!
They will not. It only works the other way around.
@@ShootieSchool the midi from a SD pack will work with EZD3 though, correct?
@@TheEndOfThings Correct. Midi works both ways, not sounds.
You've saved me some premature baldness
Lol! Awesome. Come back when you're ready for more.
07:18 i wish these squares were also available in Superior Drummer 3... Wtf Toontrack
Excellent video. Wondering if there is any way to accent a beat in EZ3?
Describe accent in this case.
@@ShootieSchool Emphazing the 2 and 4 beat in 4 bars, for example, or 1 and 3. I ain't no drummer. 😄
@@colleenvarlowmusic1463 You have to do it manually in the Velocity Lane at the bottom of the Grid Editor. I haven't covered it in detail yet on my channel. I do have a whole Member-Only series on it if you're interested.
Thanks so much for another great video. This might be a difficult question to answer here but how well does ezdrummer handle changes in time signature in the middle of a song. garage band keeps wanting to put fills in the wrong place and it’s driving me crazy. 🍻
To my knowledge, Garageband doesn't handle Time Sig changes. EZdrummer 3 follows the Time Signature of your DAW. So the easy answer is that it's not possible.
EZdrummer will handle Time Signature Changes. You can access the feature by Right-Clicking on the Ruler portion of the Song Track. SO you can figure it out. Hearing Garageband's metronome as EZD3 is doing Time Sig changes might not sound so great. Just about any other DAW could natively do this with EZ.
@@ShootieSchool sorry. I should have been more clear. I’m actually trying to work with Logic and Garage band together for the garage band drummer. Clearly ezdrummer is the better choice. Thanks again!🤘😎
@@ivorytelecaster Learn to program your tempo changes in Logic. EZdrummer will follow Logic's Timeline.
If you want EZD3's Song Track to look more accurate, Also make the Tempo change in EZdrummer, but that is not necessary.
Is Garageband's Drummer not in Logic. The Logic Drummer is fantastic.
@@ShootieSchool thanks. Yes. Im using the drummer in logic but I really can’t find sounds that work for me. Im hoping the indie folk or singer songwriter packs suit my music better
@@ivorytelecaster I like the Singer/Songwriter EZX myself, especially if you like Brushes. You should be able to get Logic's drummer to provide midi to EZ, if you haven't figures that out yet. Jordan over on my Facebook group has a lot of experience in this area. You might want to stop down.
i played drums for 12 year s i just want to write my own drum
parts - you have a video on that? i write it in the groove recorder but then all it gives me is search options to find grooves " like" it. i want tk construct my own drum
parts ?
The recorder I assume is Tap2Find. If so you can use those beats you make, just drag them from the Tap2Find drop zone to your EZD Song Track.
If you're looking to make beats from scratch in the Grid Editor, the only videos I have are UA-cam Members videos. Nothing Public yet.
@@ShootieSchool thanks i figured it out. you use the grid editor to edit the bests and add cymbals etc to the existing dragged and dropped groove.
Thank you!
You got it!
