I Put My Battery in the Trunk

  • Today I decided to relocate my battery to the truck to prepare for my Civic’s new Vtec motor. This has been one of the last steps I’ve needed to complete to be able to install the motor. It wasn’t too difficult of a job, but I decided not to share the link to the kit that I used because the kit did not arrive as advertised. In all of the pictures on the eBay listing, the wires are assembled. It was frustrating for me that they arrived the way they did. I paid $80 for this kit so that it would be easy. Unfortunately I played myself. With that said, I am happy with the finished product and I think this is going to be a great mod to clean up the engine bay. Now I just need to clean up my nasty interior haha.

much prefer the old vlog style bro, this style of video feels more cold and not as engaging. Either way keep up the good work on the car.

@parkerbethke Keep in mind guys a channel has to have two types of content. Videos that perform well short term to keep subs interested and evergreen videos that keep getting views over time so the channel can sustain itself. Not saying you aren't being supportive, just that we gotta do what we can to stay afloat. :)

Pick-n-Pull near me charges $4.69 for a battery cable. Find a BMW with a rear mount battery and pull that long, thick battery cable. Bargain!!!

Nice work! I liked the hammer to the crimping tool, hah. Going to give you the best grip. Really gotta make sure those copper lugs are crimped hard. My one critique is that you should definitely clean the paint off of the spare tire mount where the ring terminal makes contact. you want bare metal to bare metal, even if the bolt is bare metal and is touching threads. Solid grounding is super important!

That positive cable looks a little small for going that distance. Remember distance comes into play when sizing wire/cable. As for that ground, not good, but I am sure that is temporary.

I know this may be a stupid question but why did you mount the remote battery cables negative on positive? I asked this because I see some kits with plate with 2 screws one for negative and one for positive. Wouldn't it be an issue if you had to jump the battery?

Yup gotta get the fattest fing wire available or that you can fit every foot of cable cost’s you 15 amps 10 ft *15 is 150 amps you lose just from a simple location swap UNLESS YOU put your starter closer to the battery

I have a few constructive criticisms for you never ground on paint that battery should be twice that size being that far from the starter bet it dont start if it does its just barely maybe with a jump die electric in the heat shrink will waterproof it soldiering make a much more permanent connection sealed 100% you can do both dieelectric then shrink it 💴 that’s money dude
