Wow, that's gonna be a really nice setup. Would have been nice if they could have machined "T-Dog" into the battery tray, maybe something to think about down the road. I relocated my battery to sit in my lap so it will feel safe and cared for the way my forefathers cared for their batteries. Personally I think all vehicles should have a way to jump a battery from both ends. I don't know how many times I've needed to jump a car that was in a parking spot with people on all sides so you've got to push the car out to jump it. You'd think manufactures would catch on by now.
DOYLECLEVERLOBE1 thank you haha that seems like a safe spot for it. And ya I think more manufacturers should do that as well. It just makes sense
i have same cables .. always use wire loom/ sleeving to protect the cables its a must like u said
thank you for the itemized list! I appreciate you taking the time to put it together!
No problem. Glad you enjoyed
Great video and was very helpful! Learned a lot and be safe out there.
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed. Stay safe 👍
thank you for taking the time to make this for us
No problem at all 👍
VERY WELL DONE...so many times I've gone on to UA-cam and I know guys are trying but some of the shit they did in their videos; I would have had common sense not to do that when I was 7; but you're video made sense and you offered up a lot of good points!!
Thank you I greatly appreciate that and I'm always open to suggestions and improvements as well. I'm really glad you enjoyed 👍
Love the shirt!
💪💯
Thank you 👍👍👍
Great video. Thanks a lot
Thank you
Neat video Tony.
David Young thank you 👍🏻
This is the best video on this subject.
Thank you I appreciate it 👍
Smart thinking with the terminals for under the hood.
Have a great day!
Bruce L. Thank you. You do the same 👍🏻
10 seconds in and I subscribe because of the shirt lol
Haha thanks 👍👍👍
I haven't even watched the video yet and I immediately Subbed when I saw your "Thin Blue Line" wedding band!! Thank You for your service or whatever your affiliation to LE may be! My wife and I are both retired LEO"s. I'm currently relocating my battery in my '69 Stang to the trunk!
Thank you I greatly appreciate that for both subbing and your kindness. I did 6 years as military police and 2 years as a military police investigator. Also thank you to both you and your wife for your service. Hope you enjoy the video and best of luck on the 69 stang. I bet it's an amazing car.
@@TonyTheTechnician I really enjoyed the video, I just got through watching it in its entirety. The parts list and tool lists are awesome, I actually ordered a few of the parts per your recommendation!! THANK YOU for taking the time to complete all of what you did to make the video. I retired aftr 28yrs. and my wife retired aftr 31yrs. The Stang is coming along slow, but I love working on it! Have a Great Day!!
@@millerso8 thank you I'm glad you found it helpful. Oh wow that's awesome thank you both so much. Ya mine is coming along slowly as well haha but ya it's just fun to work on. I'll hopefully have it on the road this summer. I've been working on it for almost 6 years now. So it's about time to get it on the road
All law enforcement, past or present, are evil people. How may people's lives did you ruin for your corrupt blue line gang?
Where did you install the circuit breaker in the line? Great video-thanks!
About a foot or so from the battery
Tony Hey Brother tell me what kind of fuel line was that and where you got it at and how much it was and also what is your recommendation on affordable AN fittings? Also I would be really interested if you would do a in-depth video for dummies how to build AN lines gas and trans and also if you have a line on nice looking vacuum line as well
michael penna I actually already have a video on how to do the fuel lines and everything if you want to check it out. Also I ordered my line and connectors as a kit so it all comes together. Here is a link to one kit. Or you can search AN fuel line kit.

@@TonyTheTechnician do you have a lead on nice looking Vac lines too? And hmmmm i thought i watched all your vids already i never saw a AN line video ill have to look again
michael penna for vacuum line I usually just use normal vacuum hose and put the nylon sleeping over top. Here is one of the links to the AN install.

what will happen if you decide to just ground the battery in the new location, will it cause the battery to drain? Or whats the deal?
I got 0 gauge ofc power n ground n a 300 watt inline fuse n a power distribution block is that everything i need to relocate a battery???
@8:47 you discussed the use of cable coating protection... I'm just curious...how this product would protect the original coating of the cable(s) against a "pinch-point" location where the cable is resting on?
I know we try not to expose the cable(s) to such a location but having to use a thicker AWG wire (00, 000) sometimes this might not be avoidable.
People have to really do their homework on this "battery relocation" task. You made quite a few great points about the type of copper wire one needs to consider before poping open the hood of the car.👍
In those tight areas where you can't avoid the bend I try to either double up this coating or at minimum run the hard plastic shrouded over that portion of the cable. Thank you I appreciate the input 👍👍👍
@@TonyTheTechnician Sure, that makes sense... I'm planning on relocating my Battery in the 2010 Dodge Avenger to the trunk of my car. Currently it's located in the bottom portion of the front wheel well.. (why dodge ever decided to locate it there is rediculous especially when there's ample room within the engine bay compartment!)
Because of the battery is located in the wheel well, Dodge had created two battery contact (- +) access points under the hood of the car, I was thinking about just running the new cables from this location back to the trunk where the new battery location would be.
I'm not sure of what AWG Wire I'd have to use but I'm thinking 00 would be a better choice than 0.
I also realize that the spare tire compartment consumes a significant amount of space in the trunk as well.
This might pose a problem in relocating the battery.
Would you suggest that I include a (plastic) battery box as well? I'm sure i could use a Walmart quality plastic tote that fits the battery & tie down hardware. (Specialized items like that of the battery box is rather expensive here where I live)
If it's fastened down, and fits, is there any issue with mounting an agm battery between the front seats of a vehicle?
if you had an accident would you want to take the risk of 15kg plus dead weight coming loose?
Great video! Since you are running your positive and negative cables up towards the engine bay, did you run them up together or opposite sides of the car?
Thank you. They are together on one side but separated
@@TonyTheTechnician Wow, I appreciate the timely response. Just a further clarification. When you ran them up from the trunk together but separately, did it matter if the positive and negatives wires were touching? Or, did you plan on keeping the positive and negative cable separate, for example, an inch or two? Thanks
@@joeduarte6246 yes indeed. They both run up the passenger side but both are in separate cable looms and about two inches apart 👍
I think you meant the Optima Red Top was a glass mat vice a gel mat. Right?
Yes if I said gel I apologize it is an agm "glass mat" battery. Thank you for catching that.
Please do not use those battery terminals (the brass ones with the two bolts) - those are "temporary" type design (you see these in your local auto parts stores and the "cheap" battery terminal replacements use in an "emergency").
They cannot be securely tightened, especially threaded into soft brass base.
Since you already own a TEMCO tool, why not use battery terminals that use a crimp compression end?
I try and find those hex compression fittings (insert bare wire and tighten compression hex to secure - i.e. old-school Esoteric Streetwires 1/0 ring terminal compression Interlok) that are reusable but cost more - you looks like you're spending good money on this project, so might as well go for the best?
I know the wire for car audio is overpriced, but for terminal hardware, check through the car audio options for better, nicer options.
Oh Kay thanks for that info and I’m doing my best to try and find something with a crimp style but all the same stuff keeps popping up.
@@TonyTheTechnician Check out Terminal Supply Co. or Del City Wire
Oh Kay thank you 👍🏻
Hope you are going to follow up with an actual installation video.
Tony R that’s the plan
So what if your not using a jegs product
You don't have to use any jegs products. Most all of these products are from Amazon
