Honestly, GMC needs to update this truck to make it stand out from the regular suburban and regular Yukon. For this amount of money, you can get a pretty well-loaded Navigator that will for sure stand out on the road.

Good video. I recently purchased a 2017 GMC Sierra. EXTREMELY disappointed that I am not able to see immediately what gear the truck is in. Very aggravating for the money spent.
In addition, I wonder if a regular sized 2018 Yukon Denali would be slightly faster than the XL version (both versions with 6.2 and 10 speed using premium fuel)?
I am so happy they are putting big engines in the half ton yukon xls again... I wonder if that will apply to Suburbans, too. However, I don't like that in recent years, the windows have gotten a lot smaller. My old 1992 has huge windows. A lot of viewing area. Now it's kinda like a chop top.
How crazy is it, it is 2018 $80,000 car and they still put DVD system into it when every movies now coming out on Blu-ray.

Aaron Pritchard review clearly stated DVD system. I hope they are wrong in what they said. It had no mention of the Blu-ray.
why do they come with a dvd system at all ? why not a bluetooth media system that is independent of the front system that allows occupants in the rear to play anything you can get on your phone/ipad/tablet/laptop. with all the accounts we have today from netflix,youtube,amazon tv, hulu ext ext and the ability to pre download movies and shows by the season isn't a dvd system basically useless. are people really still buying dvds?

That's a damn good looking truck. I love that interior, although the seats don't look that comfortable, they look pretty flat. The old GMT400 trucks had some comfy looking seats.
The seats are extremely comfortable. I test drove and also had a chance to sit in the rear bucket seats. I was impresses

Adding 2 more gears didn't make a difference from the 8 speed in MPG. Have a 17 High Country 6.2L and it's averaging 22 MPG all day long. Paying for 2 extra gears don't see the point just another money grab and before I get any comments NO have no issues with the 8 speed it works flawlessly.

The 2018 GMC Yukon Denali has a combination DVD and Blu-Ray player.
it doesn't make sense to have such a tall gear ratio in a truck that has a transmission with a final transmission gear ratio of .64 that weighs 6000# ..... you have to go 80mph with a 3.3 rear gear , a .64 overdrive , 31 inch tall tire , in order to be at a cruising rpm of 1831 rpm . so if you have any kind of load or even a couple passengers and you are doing 75mph you won't even be able to stay in the final drive ratio due to the lack of torque , it will drop you into 9th gear at 75 mph, 31inch tire, 3.3 gear , .69 9th gear ratio youll be at 1851.... so unless your completely empty and doing 80 mph you will never be able to use 10th gear let alone 4 cylinder mode in tenth gear. Basically it should come with a 3.73 instead . 3.73 final , 31 inch tire , 75 mph , .64 tenth gear puts you at 1900 rpm that should be enough rpm to hold tenth gear and use 4 cylinder mode on flat surfaces. IMO
If you really want to test it you should have put 4 Yamahas on the trailer

So on the 0-60 run, you select auto 4wd to get better traction but then turn off traction control. Interesting logic. I’d just run it in 2wd to get best 0-60.

I don’t want to hear it’s geared towards fuel economy more than performance...the 10 speed is able to give you both , that’s why it has 10 gears,first gear with a 3.23 is as low as the 8 speed with 3.42 .The truck is too heavy to be any quicker that’s the bottom line .
Also, I cant believe they bring you to test things out. Your questions are so specific and cut right through the sales BS.

What other automatic transmission vehicles tell you exactly which gear you're in? Is that a normal feature? I've honestly never seen it.

My thoughts exactly, Gavin. Andre et al, unless you are testing a turbocharged vehicle your best standing start performance will be taking off with the engine just above idle speed, say 1000 RPM. This allows the torque converter to flash to a higher stall speed and thus higher available torque to the rear wheels. Torque is what counts during acceleration runs!
b3877896 typically stall speeds aren't adjustable so yes break boosting is beneficial tomorrow what motor driving! Just helps get your heart higher up in the torque band unless the cams super lumpy at low-rpm but even then still get more power=higher rpm above idle. Silly keyboard warriors! LoL

2wd is way faster with this tank of an SUV and it shouldn't break traction on dry pavement that easily!
from what i can tell from news articles, GMC will be all american made but the Terrain will be hecho in mexico just like all the silverados (400,000) so its like going back to the 1970's when GMC was different and better than Chevy by using only 4 bolt mains and never using any parts from the first year of production like the 1984 GMC's didnt come with the 700r4. if you wanted the 4 speed you had to buy a chevy...i know also that chevy used to make v8's in Mexico, US and Canada and the best blocks were Canadian and second best was American and Mexican blocks were useless for anything but a boat anchor

Seats look very cheap, might be the video. Second row seats don't move. No sunshades for windows in second row and third row. Its SUV and who really cares about 0-60. Most of the people that buy them don't race them 0-60, except for youtube entertainment.
