The Fast Lane Truck where's the Jeep and the Durango
Bring out the Durango to show that ford whats up
jkbro2012 The Durango isn't a full-size SUV.
When will y’all test a Cummins G56?
The 3.5L Ecoboost is such an incredible motor. I drove an Explorer Platinum which had a weaker 365hp version and that still pulls like nothing else in its class.
Jeep (Hennessey) Trackhawk vs BMW i8
@@jonlosito2004 Id rather have the ford over any of that junk.
I see this is old , but figured I’d comment . I have a 2022 expedition limited , 2wd with the H.O 3.5 . Stock is 440 hp 510 tq . It has a livernois upgraded intercooler , cai , and 3 custom tunes from zfgracing -
Now I’ve driven the Denali , and the armada . The armada felt cheap , the Denali makes decent power at 4000+ rpm’s , but the expedition annihilates them both . That being said , the new qx80 is getting a watered down gtr driveline , and will be a monster !
Hmm. Could there be a replacement for displacement? Fords faster, tows more and gets better fuel economy while doing all that.
There isnt.
@Nissan370Z Glass love mustang's just always blowing up. Expensive to fix, and difficult to work on
But the ford engine does not last for 200,000 plus miles.
The 3.5 has been around a long while no and many have hundreds of thousands of miles on them.
Everything you just said, was wrong
Been subbed for 2 years and still love this channel👍🏻
I don't know why, but it is uniquely entertaining to watch Nathan gloat in victory. Great job, TFL Team!
Excellent comparison. I really enjoyed watching.
I take ti you're a Furd guy.
They need to switch drivers and cars.
That’s the first time I see Nathan win any drag race and look how he behaves:)
love the videos, you guys are awesome! such a fun video!
I know the Infinity is the slowest of all of these but I like it the most.
Yeah well, it' latest the longest. Those other two cars can't even make 100K miles without having problems. About 10 years ago, they file bankruptcy 'cause they sucked.
@@khmerbraveheart Ford never did tf
@@Limited-uq2yk yes they did. Do your research.
@@khmerbraveheart maybe you do some research. Ford and Tesla are the only American auto manufacturers who haven't been bankrupt. You're ignorant
@@Limited-uq2yk Yeah uh huh. Even their history has bankruptcy in it. But they don't tell you the whole detail in the Moto industry. They don't sell well for a reason.
Ford For The Win!!!! 👍🏻
yeet the yeast
FORD FOR LIFE
FORD POWER!
Ecoboost engines are awesome.
The haters have just never driven one.
I dislike Ecoboost engines for the same reason I dislike CVT transmissions. They're designed to fail and cost a fortune to fix. Nothing to do with how they drive.
I have the 2017 expedition and it rocks even cars sorry u feel salty but ford did good with this engine and duel turbos
It’s still ugly tho
Owned 2 of them their alright but got a 2018 f150 with 5.0 love it and can't wait to mod it
Just to let you know that my 96 Ford F150 will outlast you're overpriced plastic EcoBoost truck.
I can attest to the quickness of the expedition. I was able to rent the all new 18 for 2 weeks we absolutely loved it, so much so we are looking to buy one.
Ford is not playing around anymore. Lol 😜
now it's time to see the expedition vs the new 2023 sequoia turbo so it's apple to apple on turbo v6 motors
@@antonioprado8068 But still Ford made the new Expedition it’s even more better than a Tahoe/Yukon and the Sequoia
@@fcdyoboi3592 in what way is it better. And what year cause I still think it's a non hybrid
@@antonioprado8068More storage, more mpg, more comfortable etc.
That ford ecoboost junk is 🗑
YEA FORD EXPEDITION I LOVE
U better try the fx4 it’s more beast off-road
V6
Doge Doge v8 is better
enjoyed :) That Ford turbo is incredible gotta say.
Cool video guys!!
Great video. I was chuckling the entire time...so much my boss came over and gave me a warning! OOOoooo! Im a BAD MANN!!!
Roman is the worst at launching. Get someone who knows how to launch to drive that thing.
MTB4L why don’t you try it since it’s so easy for you bitch
Alex u alright bro?
David16Martinez i am now :)
Roman is Tommy's dad and it shows... Surprised they are even into cars, let alone run a YT channel/website about them.
With a stock 2019 Expedition Max XLT I managed 6.0 seconds 0-60 on 87 octane fuel. The SWB Expedition platinum could easily manage 5.5 seconds or better on 93 octane. Very quick SUVs!
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!
You guys are great. Enjoy all of your.videos
Even at sea level I think the results would’ve been the same. That eco boost engine has gigantic torque. I love V8s but those twin turbos are fast in a straight line
Gonna buy one of these for my wife. Glad to know she can beat her friends in a race if they do 😂
0:14 sometimes you see the moon during the day. LMAO great video as always 🌔 LOL
My mom bought a 2019 Infiniti while I purchased a 2016 Expedition. My vehicle is a steel 4x4 with the long wheel base (like an Excursion/Suburban) and still smokes hers, my buddies 2018 RAM 1500, and most V8s out there. I love it
The main factor: A mile above sea level
TJ Sisk
Otherwise also thr Ford will win, I love V8s but to br frank, turbos do rock in a straight line,
3.23 rear end vs 3.73 rear end...helps da Ford too!
3.5 would win either way.m
C&D numbers show even the longer YukonXL being quicker than a ford expedition in the quarter mile (at a more typical elevation). Expedition 0-60 time was a tenth quick though, but again that is compared to the extra long YukonXL. On the other hand, If the race was long enough, the Infiniti would beat both of them. It's governor doesn't kick-in until a very respectable 133mph, about 20mph faster than the other two.
TJ Sisk what's your point the same result would happen at sea level
All I know is while our last Expedition (2013 Eddie Bauer) took us to 220,000 miles (and was still going strong), friends with suburban replaced them at 100,000 miles cause they weren’t dependable and were costing a bundle in repairs. Not so for our Expedition. We reluctantly replaced her with a 2016 Limited (eco-boost) and couldn’t be happier. The eco-boost engine is amazing, pulls our boat with ease and the pick up is amazing. Having had vehicles from all 3 American automakers, in my experience, Ford quality far surpasses and outlasts the others. Look, Ford is not perfect, but they are far and above GM and Chrysler.
Driven in rear-wheel-drive mode on our 75-mph highway test, which we implemented in mid-2016, the 2018 version scored 20 mpg. At the test track, the zero-to-60-mph figure took a 0.3-second hit versus the 2015 model, slowing to 5.8 seconds, but that's still impressive for a 5815-pound behemoth.
Thanks for the cool stuff
The twin turbo from the Ford is working in low RPM only which keep the turbos off in mid and high RPM
Ford is packing duel turbos and good gas milage. I have the 2017 ford expedition and love hearing the spool wind up on both lol ya ford. Step it up chevy lol
Ford really has done their due diligence with the new Expedition. It really is something to look at. Just wish it wasn't the price of an average home around my place....
How does the non Platinum expedition perform?
Do they all have strobe blinking headlights? Or something blinking in front of them???
Vehicles have used turbos for decades.. why is it that as soon as they're on the engine that easily defeats all other engines in the lineup they're suddenly unreliable?
Trevor C Preach brotha!
Infiniti and GMC need to race again. Roman’s lauch was terrible. Nathan built the revs up in the GMC. Roman just floored the Infiniti.
The best dynamic your channel has is the ability to have fun! That’s why your channel grows everyday. Awesome video. #sexybeast.
What is the expedition's 0 to 60 time?
Not gonna lie the Ecoboost fords are quick ass hell at work we have an expedition the long wheel base 4x4 and when we launch it with 4wd it launches, they’re no joke
Roman did you even try and power brake the Yukon?
youngblood23rb power braking wont do much in a naturally aspirated v8. Power braking is for turbo cars to get the turbos spooling up
Sam Jacobs NA V8's make more power and torque at higher RPMs so yes it would help, maybe not much but it would help, especially with a Tank such as this
Sam Jacobs you don't know what your talking about. Forget about UA-cam and never comment again.
youngblood23rb Yeah it would make the smallest difference
Toolguy03 you’re*
I love this show you guys are just good together
Mpg loop unloaded? Would be interesting to see the ecoboost real world vs the denali
Love the Ford😊
Great video. 2018 Ford Expedition has better acceleration, because it has bigger torque, better final gear and lighter body. Is there drag race between 2018 Lincoln Navigator and 2018 Cadilac Escalade?
Martin Gunawan lmao now its lighter no shit talking on the aluminum
Martin Gunawan the lincoln navigator is the same as ford expedition
Martin Gunawan The Navigator will blow the Derpcalade away. It's more powerful than the Expedition.
Martin Gunawan
The Expedition despite its Aluminum body is the heaviest of this group, its got more tech, an IRS, and heavier seats, so there is no point in saying Ford is lighter, its not and yet its faster., all thanks to those 2 turbos
GMC 4 ever No, the Navigator has the Raptor spec engine. It'll whip the 'lade.
How are you making lights flash like that?
Is the frames from the camera led lights make them do that per frame jump
Love these guys! I wish they were 1 mile below sea level lmao so we could see the true speed ;)
Forgot to driver swap for each race
After 20 years of terrible engines, Ford seems to really have this v6 turbo thing down. Nice video.
Brad Conklin had '99 Ford. Never again. I know they have changed but I drove the latest Ford products and still no.
The 5.0 is the only ford I would own , the eco boost is fast but they don't last
Brad Conklin pfft whatever dude.
Cole Dunn the 3.5 EB does last, better torque and smoother than the V8.
they're fast and that's it. My cousins boyfriend and I had to switch trailers after his 3.5 ecoboost f150 started overheating. My 6.2 pulled it much cooler. When the turbos are spooled up it puts a lot of stress on those littler engines
Great work, Guy's! I'm very surprised about Ford, very nice SUV. Here in Russia we have only Explorer with this fantastic engine.
When Roman said "There must be a way I can win something today," did anyone else think he was gonna bust out the Hellcat?
But in my qx80 I have never lost against a Yukon or a Tahoe. What the hell you doing Roman? Lol
YUP, that torque, those gears, that MPG . . . yup, a sure winner, nay sayers be damned.
This is so entertaining 😂
Omg man I’ve been watching you for years. Quit eating
GMC sounds the best, but the Expedition is by far the fastest
Nathan is quicker off the line than Roman in each test!
is this the quiet before the storm
Might I suggest also listing the transmission gear ratios in addition to the axle ratios? While the GMC and Ford I think would be the same in this case given the co-development, Nissan/Infiniti often uses numerically higher ratios in the transmissions. This sometimes makes up for the numerically low axle ratio (of course in this case it didn't help any given the slower acceleration of the 3). Mentioning just the axle ratio between manufacturers doesn't mean a whole lot unless you also mention the transmission gear ratios along with them. The GMC 10-spd 1st gear is 4.7:1 and 10th is 0.64:1 (multiplying by the 3.23:1 axle results in 1st being 15.181 and 10th being 2.067). The Infiniti has a 1st of 4.89:1 and a 7th of 0.7:1 (resulting in a 1st being 14.328 and 7th 2.051 using the 2.93 rear axle ratio). The Ford, if using the same gear ratios as GM (not 100% certain about this though), would have a 1st gear of 17.531 and a 10th of 2.387 using the 3.73 axle ratio. Just using these results...I would expect the Ford to jump off the line quicker, and given the twin-turbos at altitude...should be no surprise at all here.
Expedition best SUV ever!
For the first 1000 km
And in a drag race only
Proof positive displacement HAS been replaced! 😂😂😂
👍Awesome video!!
So we just got our new expedition and my friend is calling me out with his v8 dodge durango RT do u think i could kick his ass ?
Yea
could you please do a drag race between denali and armada
GMC 4 ever

The armada is the same as the Infiniti
James Wuertele are sure?
GMC 4 ever he’s right. They look damn near the same and they are both based in the foreign market Nissan Patrol...a fantastic, robust vehicle equivalent to a Land Cruiser.
The Ford is the best full size SUV on the road by a mile. I absolutely love mine.
How did you launch that Denali so slowly I don't know if I should be offended or impressed
Man! Racing these big SUVs don't have a point and yet it is so damn entertaining at the same time :)
Expedition is the best
Nathan lunch the GMC VS the Infinity a way better than what Roman did Vs The Ford , That Denali is Faster than that
salh abdullah
No its not, especially in that elevation, at sea level it will be a more competitive race, still the Ford will win
I agree, seems like the GMC could have done better against the Expedition. Nathan seems to know how to launch properly, Roman doesn't. In a light weight vehicle it might be negligible, but in a 3 ton SUV, brake stalling is crucial to build up as much torque as possible to move all that weight from a stand still. Nathan brake stalled, Roman didn't, thus why the Yukon was quicker when Nathan drove it. There is a reason racers brake stall their car at the drag strip: harder launch: quicker E.T.
jandj Godwin Look at Car and Drivers times for both. The 2017 XL Denali 6.2 with the 8 speed and 3.23 gears does a 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. The 2018 Expedition platinum regular length with the 3.73 gears does a 5.7 0-60. They didn't have any tests done on the new 2017 Denali with the 10 speed, or the shorter model like the Expedition. All things being equal, I'd feel like with the Yukon would at least match the 5.7 at the very worst with the new 10 speed and the lighter shorter length.
Guys they both brake stalled and let off the break at EXACTLY the same time. I thought this was true too but I went back and watched it in slo mo and the cars both started at the same time and the brake lights went off in the same split second. The expedition just has better pickup. And even if the gmc was Not brake stalled, the expedition still clearly wiped its butt.
I've always been a GM guy but there's no disputing anything here. The Ford makes more torque, it's geared lower and thanks to aluminum , is lighter. It's pointless to try and make excuses over why the Ford is faster....that is if you buy a $60,000 SUV to drag race!
If you guys are ever down here with the new expedition I would like to drag race you with my 07 expedition tuned
NICE FORD EXPEDITION
Ford is always in the lead in terms of safety, power, technology and development. All do respect!
You forgot to mention reliability there. Just imagine a few years from now. How does that little V6 look after the compressor wheel breaks and goes through the engine?
And no, Ford is not leading, if we look at the modern era.
Ram did the Diesel 1500 first and the V6.
Ram has had the highest towing capacity for years with the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. The Furd 4500 is a different class.
Ram has had the stiffest truck frame for years.
GM has had great success with the Duramax, not to mention the massive success of the LS and now LT engines.
Furd has the worst history in terms of safety of of the big three.
Sure, now Furd comes with the Ecofreak engines thanks to European development, but that does not take away from the fact that most things has been sub par for years and the reliability has been abysmal. The Eco engines are still prone to issues, so there's that. Also, they still rust worse than the GM and Rams, and have milk bottle tops for brakes.
Joseph O'conour you are so right. Ford is way head in safety. That damn Chevy pinto explosions and Chevy knew of the potential issues. Yes Ford is way ahead.
ABOlsen69X It's Ford* fool.
@@matadorman78 you must have forgot when ford was burning peoples house down and putting the wrong tires on suv's and they tried to blame it on firestone for them blowing out and flipping. ford always has built a junk engine they just suck they are not safe either
@@chasesierra2162 lol, glad you're pissed, you deserve it. Little V6 abominated the 6.2 lmao
Well that just broke the whole “no replacement for displacement” theory 😂 apparently all it takes is a TT v6 🤔
In a way it still stands, lol. Because if you twin turbo'd the 6.2 it would destroy the 3.5
Don't know if it would have made a difference anyway but there seemed to be one hell of a delay on the GM take off of the line.
This just in...there is a replacement for displacement... and it’s called ECOBOOST
Nah it's called 2JZ
Nah because at the end of the day I can take that 6.2 way farther in the after market than a 3.5l ecoboost
Ironsaber2
Net exactly. I'm not a Furd guy, but there's a few issues with your idea. If you want to use a Yukon as it was intended to be used, you can't just throw a pair of hairdryers or a Whipple on that LT engine. Sure it will make all the power in the world, but it will also boil the fluids in your driveline when towing and break your all your gearsets and clutches when you're on it.
Best bet is the simple solution. A set of rocker arms with a 1.85 ratio, a lighter valvetrain with properly made pushrods, a pair of well ported heads and a 3.73 final drive. Then swap out the shitty stock fluids in the trans and diffs, and get a good TCU tune. That will easily put you ahead of the Furd Ecofreak both in terms of acceleration, towing and milage.
Pyrosity Onimuto 10 grand later lol
I hope ford will make a 5.0 option for the expedition, while the ecoboost is nice and powerful, I still love a good ole v8 rumble
Should have done a Roman in the Expedition vs. Nathan in the Yukon and QX80 races to eliminate "driver error". It would appear that Nathan knows how to launch better.
Regardless, still think the Expedition would win with its lower gear ratio (higher numerically), 3.73 vs 3.23 vs 2.93, but might have been closer races.
Why are you not using the Armada
Nice. Not surprised that expedition is fast. Good video
👌
I wish auto reviews would touch on things like reliability of powertrain.
Wish they offered Reptor engine spec in Expedition like they do in Navigator (450hp, 510tq, 3.5TT)
Platinum edition does,.
Why didn't yall use the MAX?
And gets better mileage and can tow more
i have 35's on my 6.2 silverado and get better mileage than my girlfriends dads ecoboost... If you drivean ecoboost hard at all they get no gas mileage
Luke right eco or boost lol you can’t have both. But testing shows eco boost has better mileage overall
ripfletching my Eco boost gets 15mpg and my Tundra gets 16-17
TimmyTeaBag that’s crazy I am in the towing business my 2015 5.0 V8 coyote gets 19.6 on the highway or better and gets around 16 to 17 in town I would say there’s a problem
ripfletching got it checked out by Ford and... nothin they say the truck is perfect
Y’all need to test the new Timberline!
I can't get over how expensive these vehicles are. $81K for an Expedition?! To be honest, I was expecting the Tahoe to come in low $80s and the Expedition to come in low $70s
Ford always setting the bar!!
Never trust a tall guy that don't drink coffee.
coffee is for little people...i too drink tea
I drink both.
😂😂 great video! Love seeing Ford gap the competition. And y’all were hilarious.
Oh no I don't but here's what I can do.. and that's whooooppeee youurrr aaaayyyysssss. Hahaha love these guys
Lmfaooo I love that FORD expedition
Khari Manzini lol really ? Son go get your eyes check.
Cris Adame I'm very proud of the look. They blended the looks of the F150 and the explorer, 2 of Ford's best looking and vest selling vehicles. It's a fantastic and capable truck. Next year, they're adding a hybrid. I'm sure GM will have a compelling answer soon but for Now, ford reigns supreme
That EcoBoost is quick but it's trash as well. You need catch cane to keep that running.
Benjamin Mathew I like something that looks a bit more stately
Did that expedition get the steering wheel fixed yet lol I heard 1.4million ford trucks are recalled for the steering wheels
Ford FTW!
Brandon im sorry about getting your first name mixed up ....i met two new people in the past few weeks and 2 were named brian so its been stuck in my head. any how mister you rock !!!!! Im 54 think like but i dont express myself as good as you do GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS
First I'd like to say you need a longer drag strip. And second they are all really nice now if they could just lower the price about $45,000. To 1998 levels that would be great, then all the regular people could afford one. These manufacturers are freaking crazy.
Fords the dominant one here
Ill give it to the ford. That thing shifts very quickly
Sam Jacobs I have a new f150 with same engine and tranny. It’s a damn rocket ship! Nice thing about the 10 speed is it skips gears for better fuel economy if you’re normal or easy on the pedal.
Sam Jacobs yet it’s unreliable as hell
bob smith Oh yeah totally agreed. Theyve gotten a little better over the years but still junkers
bob smith Ford builds reliable v8s. Now that they don't make there big trucks with v8s I wouldn't buy them I have a navigator and it's a tank other then the air suspension. And I love it. But a TT v6 after 100k miles. Yea I do think so.
bob smith based on what stats?
Roman's face at 4:21 ...fugettaboutit... 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I wonder which of the 3 will require the first repairs ?
The GM, Lifters needed in all new LS engnes.
Did Roman actually think he had a chance?By the way,the 6.2L sounded the best!
Dan Hambrick naww. The QX sounded the most badass
What about the srt Durango
Darius Hope that’s not a full size suv
Actually it is. It has just as much interior room as the Yukon and is classified as such by NHTSA. Even Motor Trend did a full size SUV comparison in the last issue and included the Durango R/T.
Try he Durango competes with the Explorer and Traverse.
And the Durango SRT out tows the Yukon, Tahoe, and Suburban. It's FCAs largest SUV. It has to compete with them. It tries to cover both and all. FCA believes the Grand Cherokee competes against the Explorer. Sales numbers of the two have always made them direct competitors since they were introduced.
John Fleck The durango is not the same competition as the youkon or expedition. Just because it's what dodge thinks, doesn't mean it's true. Dodge also thinks the Charger is a muscle car when it's actually a family sedan.
What where the times for:
0 to 60
1/4 mile
The Real Joey B Ford 0-60 was 2.7 seconds. 1/4 mile was 11.8@113mph
J Bouchard bs, my 2017 Raptor won't even do that...try again...
