- I ordered 2 wasrs from Atlantic Firearms just want to show them off and talk about current wasr 10s there’s also wasr 3s comming into the country right now in 5.56 Atlantic has them as well. These wasrs are all currently on sale at Atlantic as of 10/16/23
Kickass video man, Thanks for showcasing and updating us all on how the current WASR imports are looking. Still a shame for US to be getting canted sights in 2023... WTF!
I've bought 5 Zastava ZPAPM70's from Atlantic Firearms. Great company to deal with. For a $150 more you could get a ZPAP. They are GREAT rifles. ZPAP's are built like tanks, accurate, and just a pleasure to shoot. Anyway, nice looking WASR's. Enjoy!
Remember when the WASR was a budget AK for $200? And they had a questionable reputation. Then AK imports dropped off and American AK have issues. So now we appreciate the WASR.
I have one of the 10/63 WASR's and a newer one. Both are solid rifles, never miss a beat.
Agree Atlantic is The Shit ...Love The WASR Have had Several might need to grab one for the Fuck of it
Thanks for this video. I just bought a WASR 10 for 650 shipped. Its the "black widow" model with crappy black furniture (which will be replaced). Your shellaced furniture looks good.
Yeah the furniture is crappy. But the Romanian rifle will shoot and shoot and shoot. I have the V2. and glad I did because of its toughness. Kinda ugly as shit without something like Russian red furniture (which would have been nice, but more pricey obviously) but I so dig this firearm.
@@christopherrobin361 I put a set of East German furniture on it.
The Wasr 10, and basically all stamped akm and AK-74 variants have basically always had cast gas blocks, just different styles, some traditional slant look, some rounded. The newer wasr just has a different looking rounded type of gas block. If you look up the East German akm and Russian AKM models from 1960s, 70s, you'll often see the similar rounded looking cast gas block. Most all AK variants you see today, even if they have the traditional slanted looking gas block, they're actually cast. It's nothing new and has been part of the spec for a long time.
the mighty wasr!
I love my wasr so far i fully upgarded it new ALg trigger a TWS railrd cover TDI mlok lower bcm vert grip us palm pistol grip cheese grade upper and BoneSteel/CNC gali para folding stock toped off with a surefire light and Holoson Red dot. Shes a fun gun and only got her for 666 bucks (lols) things even lighter then my Dimond back AR when unloaded of course lol
I've had several wasrs and i love my RH10
Thanks for the review and information
The wood on the Paratrooper is Romanian Surplus. It's actually decent quality
I have the same 22 ROA model that you have, construction is tight and good to go. Mine had the crappy thread protector welded on, I had to dremel that sucker off and put a good muzzle brake on her.
I bought mine 16 or so years ago for about $300. Still runs magnificently
My Wasr 10 is from 2019 it has the older akm gas block. I swapped the crap wood for Russian palmswell furniture and a Polish fat grip. I’ve shot many rounds and it keeps going.
cant sneeze at a wasr 10. my cousin got me one and im waiting to see if my shop can get the midwest industries rail system.
I don't for the life of my understand why the US Palms and the Bulgarian mags don't ALL come with the steel reinforcements? We all would be okay with the price going up a buck or buck fifty, and both manufacture's absolutely doing away with everything without the reinforcements.
I 100% agree makes no sense
Just get Romanian mags easy
They are solid rifles..like anything else, if you take care of it it will last. Have a few, made after 2015. The ones prior were questionable.
My wasr came w a reinforced metal us palm...after sitting around changing mags out to get them kind of fitted to the gun i noticed the plastic was worn off and metal was showing thru...at first i thought it was just shtty us palm version
That Wasr-10 Paratrooper is a good looking rifle actually. Almost looks Galil like, and that has been my favorite AK type rifle.
Might have to pick one up.
Overgassed wasr, if you fo get one chop barrel and pin/weld muzzle device. Or add a kns adjustable piston
I have the ZPAP m70 rifle and I'll never part with it, Zastava makes good firearms. But with the Romanian ones I have the WASR10 Black Widow and yeah the "furniture" is lame. But as I have said about it, it would shoot like there's no tomorrow.
I need to get another Zpap myself
The first one is the copy of the hungarian FÉG AKM AK63F assault rifle
Why get a Russian or Bulgarian AK when you can have a Latin Chopper? FIRE!!! 💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥
I agree. The wood is definitely no good. Any other recommendations on good furniture without spending an arm and leg?
I like the Arsenal polymer furniture. You can order it new from kvar I believe.
I think the Arms of America polish wood is about as good as it gets for wood these days. You can find surplus still but not real cheap. I also put the magpul stuff on the paratrooper and I really like that. Or like was mentioned the arsenal poly furniture or the PSA stuff looks like it’s the same as the arsenal US made stuff but I have no experience with it
I cracked the buttstock on my 2022 production Wasr 10 the first day I had it. Pure Chinese balsa wood junk. I got the Atlantic firearms plum stock set which required pretty minimal fitting with a file.
What Happened to your Psa Ak?!? I have one. It kicks ass!! Thanks.
Both are gone won’t buy PSA AKs again
@@THEPAGUNGUYactually I saw this comment is there a reason you won't be buying anymore psa aks cause I been thinking about one
@@selfdaringmike4169well that statement is maybe alittle harsh. There decent AKs if you get one that was assembled correctly. I ordered 2 last year and neither worked out of the box. One had to go back and the other one I worked with a guy from PSA to get it working. I do know they do not dimple the receiver to the trunnion which means they will flex independently and over time (like 10k rounds) it could cause rivets to fail. I may try one again sometime but idk there’s just as many bad reviews on the PSA AKs as there is good. I really like PSA and I just got a few PSA guns after taking a year brake from buying from them. I was pissed about the hole AK mess. I mean look they have a lifetime warranty if u get one and there’s issues they will fix it. If u shoot 10k rounds and u have a failure they will fix it. I just got kinda burned and it’s pissed me off lol I prefer combloc anyways there maybe a point in time where we can only get US made but for now you can still get combloc so that’s what I’ll buy.
PSA = Please Stay Away!!! Utter garbage guns.
no shooting?
you now how hard is to make the wapons i now because i make them
I have a question. In the 80s I bought a Romanian AK which has rattle in the magazine. Is that normal for an AK style rifle? Good video
Do you mean it has side to side play? Yea they all do even factory Russian AKs if you take your AR insert a mag and move it around you will find your AR even has mag wobble It’s just not as noticeable
yeah the mag seems loose even when ram it home. I guess then normal.@@THEPAGUNGUY
You probably didn't buy a Romanian AK in the 1980s since they didn't start exporting AKs to the US until 1997.
Why do you like the us palm mags over the magpul? I thought the us palm mags were garbage?
The magpul mags are fine as along as you get the steel reinforced mags. I just don’t like the way they look in AKs. I use Pmags like everyone else in my ARs. Also like magpul mags US palm mags are only good if you get the steel reinforced ones. There are some crappy US palm mags like the clear ones I’ve seen those strait up brake from people dropping them.
Is this WASR model RI1826-N?
It’s the RI1805-N
@@THEPAGUNGUY ahh I see. I did see that one online as well. By any chance you know the difference between both? They look similar. Thanks!
@@ltzmartinez5927 no I don’t I’m sorry my geuss is one has a bayonet lug and one doest
Do they have forged front trunnions?
Yes there comblock Milspec AKs
@@THEPAGUNGUY thanks I couldn’t find clear info if they did on century’s website I’m contemplating wither to buy a wasr or bft47
@@mikec14these are imported by century there made in Romania. The BFT47 is made in America by century I’m not sure how they are but I now century has had issues with there US made stuff. I prefer imports but that’s just me.
Wish they’d sell one in 5.45x x39
Yea they make them in Romania but century hasn’t ordered any since like 05 or so
@@THEPAGUNGUY I wonder why they won’t import them. Only 5.45 I can find are 2-3k for arsenals and Russians. PSA seems to be hit or miss. I even bought 5.45 mags 😆
@@__Ryan_I just don’t think 5.45 sells that well. I like it too but in the grand scheme people don’t want them. Yea I’d pass on a PSA unless it was your only option which is maybe in that case get one and see what happens if it doest work send it back.
WBP Jack >>> WASR
@5:32 Whats going on with the ammunition?
It was banned from importation a year or so ago. At least the Russian stuff
