    Love how ya said standard 30rd magazines! You sir are correct I hate how gun enthusiasts call it high capacity mags! It's standard capacity mags!!!

    • @4MRRanch
      @4MRRanch  6 років тому +12

      josh Jones to be honest it wasn’t intentional, just natural habit

    • @PaulMauser
      @PaulMauser 6 років тому

      Josh Jones Actually they ARE hi cap mags and it IS an assault rifle, but the right to own them SHOULD be constitutionally guaranteed.

    • @PaulMauser
      @PaulMauser 6 років тому +1

      For all practical purposes it is an assault rifle. Full auto is hardly used on select fire rifles. There is no truly legal definition for assault rifle. It's the tactics employed that determine that. Just because we're all tired of the leftists calling them that to push their agenda doesn't mean they're totally wrong.

    • @PaulMauser
      @PaulMauser 6 років тому +1

      The U.S. Army didn't invent the assault rifle and they didn't invent the term. The term was propaganda and was referring to it's tactics. Any rifle becomes an assault rifle when it's pushed into that role. Even a flintlock. They also used to classify the CAR15 as a submachinegun. And it's not just cosmetic appearance. Literally every single part is the same as a military rifle. All it lacks is the fire control. It's not like these are bolt action versions. In a practical sense most select fire rifles are basically only used in semi auto anyway. That's dependent on each military's doctrine though.

      Josh Jones You are technically correct,but they(like he said)come into the United States only able to accept 10-round magazines,and the have to be milled out to accept 20-30mags.So actually physical work has to be done.So in reality it is able(from the factory)to only accept 5 or 10- round magazines.

    These are great rifles now. I have a 2015 production i bought then and it goes bang every time. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. I installed the ALG AKT trigger and the 3x scope from Primary Arms and its honestly my favorite rifle to shoot, over my BCM AR15 and Vepr haha

      I have a 2015 model as well,....its a great gun and plenty accurate/shooting clay pigeons at 100 yards with a bushnel TRS 25 red dot on her is easy,I really like the RAK 1 trigger century is putting in these guns.

    • @MinhVu-in9iz
      @MinhVu-in9iz 6 років тому +2

      Vepr 47 is a better ak since it is a rpk. You like shooting this wasr 10 more??! Why? The barrel is pencil thin so when it heats up, your accuracy goes out the window!

    Nice job. Sold my SL106 Arsenal and bought a wasr 10 later. 3rd ak variant and my favorite. Added RD m4 adapter and surplus handguard. Fantastic! Oh, and sight or optic is recommended if using the m4 adapter as cheek weld is slightly higher by design. It's a tank. Some would say it's an entry level ak...not so my friends.

      kev lar most of my info I get is from sifting through lots and lots of forums and reviews. I try to look more for negative feedback on different platforms, and then avoid those platforms altogether. Most people suggested the wasr and I gave it a shot and have yet to be disappointed.

    • @kevlar8340
      @kevlar8340 6 років тому +3

      4MR Ranch I'm not buying it, but that's ok man...until Rob ski from AKOU came out and said they aren't garbage...all you would read and hear about from anyone was that they are in fact, garbage. Century can thank him alone, and the impact he's made with his UA-cam channel, for "saving" the WASR. I also call BS because I saw your other video, when you "torture tested" it....it was straight off of AKOU's channel. It's ok that you like the rifle, just give respect where it's due, is all. You've already mentioned it was your first AK "style" rifle, so you don't have to lie to kick it! Carry on

    They do appear to have improved dramatically. Back in the early 2000s the negative reviews were common. As far as I can see it, there are 2 reasons for that:
    1. Truth. In the early 2000s there were quite a few issues with canted sights, out-of-spec mag wells, subpar fit and finish, etc.
    2. Perception. Back in the early 2000s there were still a LOT of high quality parts kits around, SAR-1s (the WASR's dimpled sibling) were still being imported, used MAK-90s were still just a few bucks more than a WASR. Simply put, there were a lot more quality choices out there and folks turned their noses up at the WASR.

    I bought 2 wasr's back around 2011 and paid $300 for each, only a few years after that the price more than doubled and has never recovered.
    Both of mine are milpart rifles and have never malfunctioned for me after thousands of rounds. They improved the wood a lot though, mine came with unfinished wood stocks with no finish whatsoever.

    Slight wobble of the mag is what you want because tight fit can be damaging...look at the ak firing in slow motion 👍(example, and i know its a different platform) i used 30 round steel mags in my sks they all had very slight wobble and ran flawless but when using magpull polymer it was a tight fit and NONE of them ran at ALL, wasted 100 dollars lol

    That is a nice WASR 10, It would benefit you a lot if you change that front furniture for a good heat shielded set because those get hot really fast even for AKMs in my experience, I once had to switch to the mag grip HALFWAY through a 40 rounder but slow shooting out to a 12" plate at 100 yards and can the same handgaurds on this one. Believe me if you get some nice front furniture(maybe with a foregrip) you should be able to plink with that rifle for hours, I love how AK ammo is not nearly as much as AR stuff( the reason so many of us AR people get a .22lr upper LOL) so happy shooting with it.

  • @red9man2130
    @red9man2130 6 років тому +1

    hi good video. Some points: first that cap for your tube (cleaning kit) goes over the muzzle end to act as a bore guide. secondly, you can BUY Romanian buttstocks with the trap door, frankly I,d opt for a boresnake. you covered all the criticisms nicely and let me say Arsenal might be "high end" except for the fact they use 5.45x39 barrel shanks for their 7.62x39 caliber rifles making the barrels very thin. furthermore Arsenal uses a terrible finish on their metal. all in all that Romanian akm you have will easily give the same level of service it should shoot 2 MOA. You might want to add techsites rear sight but I,d just get a colored front sight post and leave it at that for utility. I have a wasr-10/63 and LOVE it! I suspect you will have no issues with metal ak mags either.

    You sold me bro, been wanting an AK style variant for a while but here in the Peoples Republic of Californiastan, guns are grossly overpriced. I bought a new 2015 WASR-10 for $578 and it hasn't given me any problems thus far. I took the cheap century crap wood and black plastic pistol grip off before I even shot it for the first time and installed true Romanian military surplus wood furniture and bakelite pistol grip on it.
    These are made by Cugir which is the small arms division of Romarm the Romanian state owned military arms manufacturer romarm.ro/en/product_category/infantry-weapons/
    They simply convert their military version by not installing the fun switch for the civilian market romarm.ro/en/services/
    What you're really getting is a military grade AKM without the fun switch, built by a military arms manufacturer who has been building AKM's for decades (since 1963 to be exact) it may not be as pretty as lets say an Arsenal, but weapons of war issued to soldiers aren't purposely all dolled-up, they are made to be functional, reliable and hardy...
    I have several higher end AKM's but I'd grab my Romanian AK over any of them if the SHTF tomorrow because it's all I would ever need, my safe queens would stay in the safe where they can remain shiny and pretty...
    If you want a safe queen for strictly investment purposes then buy an Arsenal etc, it functions exactly the same, the only difference is the paint job and they aren't even built in Bulgaria, they are built at Arsenal in LV NV from imported parts made in Bulgaria, the parts are military grade but the rifle themselves are not built by a military weapons manufacturer...

      Oscar Delta this is why I got the wasr. People were sayong Oh it's bad finish wood ect but to me that does not matter because I was gonna take off the stock and wood and replace it with folding stock rail forend new grip ect it to me seems like the perfect ak to modify to your liking you really don't want to do that to arsenals. And the reliability is there couldn't be more happier. I actually created mine to be a shtf fuck you fallout type gun

    If you don't like the wood on it, you should look into either surplus furniture or a set from Atlantic Firearms that does have the hole for the cleaning kit. Also, maybe get a magpul grip for it so you can store some lube in it. I'm not sure exactly which grip it is, but it's great.

  • @ussling
    @ussling 5 років тому

    I got mine almost two years ago at a gun and pawn shop. Cost $700. Others of unknown origin, with rougher cut, darker furniture were $750.
    I learned a long time ago to pay just enough to get what I want, and not a penny more.
    Mine came with a sling. I don't recall if it includes a magazine. No matter, it has five 30-round Magpul magazines. The manual I had to download and print.
    I installed an AR A2 flash suppressor.
    I replaced the petite pistol grip with a Hogue contoured pistol grip. What an improvement that made.
    After going through many magazines, the rifle performed well.
    Nothing sounds quite like racking the slide of an AK.

    I have had my wasr 10-63 for 4 or 5 years solid as a rock.!!!! .If you have some where I can send pictures. I can send a couple photo's I modified a Chineese AK chest Rig and it works great anyone could do this mod with the chest rig and an surplus russian sling as well as a Harbor freight AWL

  • @ICGorillaP

    These are solid rifles. Best bang for buck. Just swap out that cheap crappy 922r wood for a Romanian surplus set from Apex for $40 and swap out the paperclip for a steel retaining plate for $5 and that will fix the only weak points. And grab a cheap Romanian bayonet while you're at it :)

  • @gregbrizendine
    @gregbrizendine 6 років тому +1

    You are fine. The newer ones have better build quality - even with some of the minor things - it is an AK - it will work - might be canted a little but you did not pay $1000 plus for an AK - I have several types of AKs - even the Serbian NPAP - both it and the WASR 10 are a great value.

      With Arsenal (SLR's at least) you're really paying for the side-folder, 90 degree gas block, and 24mm FSB and break. You're paying for the AK-100 series features, which would not be cost effective to put on a WASR.
      Durability between the two is a wash.

    • @Wrestling4404
      @Wrestling4404 6 років тому +12

      Deimos the thing is, these aren't manufactured by Century. The WASR-10 and RH10 are imported from the Cugir factory in Romania as 922r compliant firearms, all that century really does is slap surplus wood on it, a 922r compliant fire control group and muzzle device, pistol grip etc. and they also machine the magwells to spec to accept standard capacity double stack AK magazines. Not to mention Cugir and ROMARM have refurbished their manufacturing and QC considerably, while these may not be on par finish and feature wise compared to Bulgarian and Russian offerings, they are by no means subpar

      Danny Di the WASR seen in this video has a threaded barrel and bayonet lug. These features make it more desirable and costly than an almost identical version with no threaded muzzle or lug. The Wasrs you see for sub $600 are the latter discontinued version. They sometimes have mottled laminated furniture, which looks rough and ugly, but is stronger than newer blonde stuff. The newer "military" versions online are a good price at about $600. Guts of both guns identical. If you don't need muzzle device or bayonet, cheap version just as good, especially if with mottled laminated furniture, which is better than new light stuff.
