Billy Joel was trying to protect the audience. There were laws against public dancing in the Soviet Union. He also wanted people in the front row to be able to dance. Billy Joel always saves the front row for real fans with nose bleed seats, he moves them up front so he can see and feed off of the energy of people who actually love his music. He didn't want the regular people, who were big fans, that he had moved up front, arrested or fined for public dancing. That's why he was SO pissed that the lighting guys were lighting them up. True story, look it up.

I went to a poison and Ratt concert in the mid 80s cc passed out sitting in front of the amps for about three songs then got up and started playing again love the 80s!
Poison had minimal basic talent and were overshadowed by more successful and talented bands.

If you remember when Alice and chains was set to open for Metallica in 1994 but their lead singer Layne Staley was going thru rehab and had to postpone touring with Metallica and James Hetfield made a “shooting up heroin” jester along with other band mates making the same jester? Now for the second time James has to go to rehab this time his wife had enough and divorced him. No matter what addiction is addiction and it breaks you down and brings you to your knees. theyre a glorified cover band anyway... never have understood their draw. Ive seen them in "group" concerts and they've NEVER sounded good.

Sure, we're supposed to keep it professional onstage, but for someone who practically lives onstage, there is so little time for self-reflection. You said it best by saying that his family was more upset about the fact of him sharing the details of the abuse than they were about the abuse itself and a *lot* of people need to hear that it's not okay for adults to hurt their children (in so many ways)

Some of these bands, some of these singers, do not deserve the fame and the fans that they have. The meltdowns, attacking fans, calling a black man a N and then screaming you aren’t racist! When you become famous, you have a responsibility firstly to the fans that made you famous in the first place!

On some of the other meltdowns and rants... I think where inebriation and drugs aren't heavily involved, most could just be due to overdoing it for too long. Mental and emotional exhaustion, or what they call burnout. It can happen on any job.
This so why rock bands should only last ten years.

I assume it was because their album(s) were a huge bomb. He may have been exhausted...that I would buy, but he was absolutely not drunk, we knew what was going to happen.
