      I have heard Daryl Hall described as incredibly rude, mean,& vindictive; particularly towards anyone in service industries having to deal with him. For instance, wanting to force waitresses/casino employees to perform degrading acts for tips.( Here, let me throw this much-handled $100 chip on the filthy casino floor - you can have it if you get on your hands and knees, bark like a dog,& pick it up in your mouth...say 'Thank you!', now.)

    I was at the Oasis unplugged performance in the summer of 96 and the night was fantastic. Liam was not missed and Noel and the band carried the whole thing in a fabulous way. Still for me their best concert was the one done without Liam the Gobshite.

    At one point during a Clash concert Mick Jones refused to go back onstage and do an encore, so Joe Strummer punched him in the face. There was a lot of blood and Jones did go back onstage for awhile with a bandana wrapped around his face. Jones did leave the stage prematurely to prove his point.

    Interesting video. Most rock creative pairs are still teenagers when they get together. When they become adults, they may not have emotionally mature enough to resolve adult issues. Rock tends to enable prolonged adolescence.

    Having been in bands....admittedly just playing charity gigs....there are always tensions. Egos, power struggles, it's a miracle when any bands stay together for more than a few weeks. If that.

    Strummer and Jones did get back together, but not as the Clash. They wrote most of Big Audio Dynamite's second album No. 10 Upping St., and Strummer also produced it. BAD was Jones' attempt at something different and their first two records were excellent.

      They also just recently reunited again in 2023 and put out a new album, The Tipping Point, which is a great album. They've been steadily touring, and are releasing a concert film/live album at the end of October. :)

    So moral of the story, band members either die young or live long enough to hate each other. Not on this list, but John and Tom Fogerty didn't speak for the final 30 years of Tom's life. What I've always found interesting is how long musicians can hold grudges. Some of them can apparently stay mad till the end of time.

      @@jamescaron6465 they were, although as this list points out, the Gallagher bros and Wilson sisters have had bad blood in the past. I believe the Everly bros went 15 years without speaking at one point. Some of these bands tour and play together so long that they’re like brothers, but sometimes fall out.

      I won't delve into the other siblings mentioned, but CCR's issues had to do with John being the supreme talent of the band. We all know, first and foremost, the raw, raspy vocals are iconic. Was he a jerk about how he handled it? Were Tom and the others jealous? Who knows. But this is a case were "creative differences" just doesn't hold water.

    If you're including short-term break-ups, like with Heart, then what about when Simon Gallup left The Cure? The band almost disappeared. Robert and Simon were so tense around each other that the band actually broke up. Eventually, Robert got to making more "Cure" music, which was quite different than what came before. Eventually Simon came back after walking up to Robert at a party and pouring a pint of beer over his head. I guess it was his way of showing his frustration, but that he wanted back in.

    It sounds as if the problem was the type of person that Orzabal is, he's just very different to Curt and while Smith just wanted to keep it simple Roland wanted to try tons of different ideas and obviously Curt couldn't really understand why he wanted to do all the extra work.

      I bloody love Warren Zevon. I think he might have been more famous here in the UK than in his home country, though. I get so upset when I hear the amazing opening of 'Werewolves of London' and it turns into that ghastly song about Alabama.

      @@angelamaryquitecontrary4609 Zevon was immensely popular in America, virtually had a residency with David Letterman's TV show. But he never was a huge pop sensation. I don't think Werewolves would come in the top 10 for most Zevon fans. One of the best (and ironically, worst) things about UK music appreciation is that a lot of great music gets exposed to people.... but an awful lot of junk, too!

A while back, BBC Radio 2 (biggest music channel here) asked listeners to suggest the best intro to a song, and Werewolves of London won the poll handsomely. WZ's son spoke on the programme, and said that his father would have loved it, and he also said that HE THOUGHT HIS FATHER WAS MORE POPULAR IN THE UK THAN THE USA! (Capital letter choice, mine.)
      I'm still in the corner, crying, so I hope you're bloody well sorry, and that you have a better sense of humour than many of your compatriots.

    Cory Wells and Danny Hutton, 2 of the 3 dogs night. The only thing they could agree on is how much they blamed Chuck Negron for the disintegration of the band, to the point they wouldn't fly on the same aircraft or even stay in the same hotels when possible. The quote about flying was "If I'm gonna die in a plane crash, it's not gonna be with sonofabitch." Bad money management and trusting the wrong people in the first 15 years of Three Dog left all the band members broke and they continued to play out of necessity.

      I've read many unflattering stories about Simon. Especially the one about Los Lobos during the recording of "Graceland" and how he ripped off a song from them during the sessions and then afterwards they never even got paid for the sessions.

      i have always felt rather sorry for the Simon & Garfunkel dynamic - I think Paul Simon had a little of the short-statured man thing happening(I call it 'bantam rooster syndrome', where they are constantly aggressive and ready to fly at anyone because they are so small in size; seen it frequently among jockeys) as well as a very reasonable amount of jealousy that the beautiful music he wrote sounded better with Art's voice than just his own. 😢

      @@seansullivan7131 They sold more records with Hagar because they morphed into a Top 40 band with a great guitar player that wrote, with a few very notable exceptions, far more generic and less clever songs that brought more girls and more middle-of-the-road fans into the music. Also, the original band came out pre-MTV. By the time Hagar joined Van Halen was far more accessible to a generation that had been too young to appreciate the band in its early years. I've loved Sammy since Montros, and I own all the VH albums with him in the band. But I'd have much preferred Van Halen continue with Roth and Sammy continue with his solo albums.

    Fleetwood Mac should have gotten a little more attention. The bitter songs born out of that relationship are some greatest. Still it's an interesting video. I didn't realize there was so much animosity between Mick and Keith. I'm glad it didn't stop them from making music.

    the Everley Brothers performed together at the Sydney Entertainment Center in about 1992 so your year of their final performance was WAY OFF. On that bill was Chuck Berry, Lesley Gore, the Everley Brothers, intermission, Bo Diddley, Mary Wilson and finally Jerry Lee Lewis. I was there so I should know what I'm talking about, pity others can't get their stories completely straight

      Agreed. Just seemed as if she was so incredibly possessive that she wanted to be attached to John at the hip. I've heard that when she started coming to their rehearsals, etc., the others didn't like it at ALL, but were too uncomfortable about saying something, due to John's extreme infatuation with Yoko. Funny how one's own feelings can make for blindness towards faults easily seen by everyone else.
