Use a car mat or rubber bottom carpet mat for burnout, barely lift the rear no need to sway it side to side. Good 10-15 second burnout on carpet to heat tires up good. Also tire warmers help as well. Reactions love a lot of heat!
A few things I noticed that might help you a little bit, during the daylight you were launching with the wheelie bar having to cross the crack in the concrete. When you launch the wheels go into that crack, it can upset the load on the tire and additionally it can also act like dragging an anchor across a rock. I think i saw you do the burnout then move the car to the left and a couple of times i think you placed the right slick in the left burnout mark. If I'm correct and you did what I think you did, depending on the surface it can lead to an unpredictable launch. Also record the the difference in the surfaces you test on. That can make a difference in your future setups. I mention these things now in the beginning so you don't start with bad habits and you transfer the consistency from your club racing to no prep. I want to see you do really well at this, you are an ambassador to this sport and I also want to point out that 1320 video just covered a $25.000 race a few months ago. I think they had 500 cars enter. Hopefully you do really well with this no prep.
I watched that. Seemed like one class was going 1.7s. Or 1.6s crazy
Love seeing comments like this. Love the encouragement and words of advice!
Love some drag racing!
Do a longer burn out on the C-ment
It's funny, when I read Traxxas coming out with a "drag pack", I was like don't think I'll be interested in this. Now seeing all options and cool stuff, I am interested lol! Great video!
Drag slash is a beaaast. I wanted the purple one soooo bad! Got the white one still nice 👍 Best updates on street. Anaconda rear wheels, metal spur, higher gear pinion, and aluminum wheelie bar. 🙌 I hit 68mph in that baby! Obviously it was on 3s but either way you will get great times on 2s too. those rear tires are Mickey Thompson tires meant for heat (burnouts) so you have burnout everytime or no traction and meant for track. You need street tires and traxxas anaconda wheels delivered. Thats my experience and have videos on it. Great video like always!! 🙌 I love my drag slash, throw stock pinion back on and you can bash it too. I ended getting rid of losi 22s and keeping the drag slash along with the infraction v2. that infraction v2 is in whole new league. But Traxxas did a great job with drag slash and I’m end up buying that purple one too soon. c10 body is beautiful and I’m not even Chevy person. 🔥
You need to warm up the tires for a couple seconds, when their warm it grips way more better, and that will give you more of a accurate run time!?
Can’t wait to see where this leads 👏👍
Cool Video Mark! LEDs for the Traxxas Drag Slash night runs.👍🏻
Great Video man. You need to continue to expand on the drag content. It will be great for the channel. Here are some ideas
*pro line reactions
*proline c7 body or the bitty ZL1
*tire prep
*go in depth on the throttle curves you mentioned
Your channel will get more views for sure
You swapped pinion gears, now you might try swapping the spur gear as well and see if you can find that sweet spot. I haven’t found it yet myself, but I haven’t had much time to test.
Do your burnouts on a small square of carpet, you’ll warm the tyres better and I promise you’ll see an improvement in times. Great video once again Mark 💪👊🏼💯
I enjoyed the comparison. You probably mentioned this, but you could put a smaller spur in the Proline car. All you need to buy now is the Losi and Associated drag cars and compare them.
Start looking at the shocks specifically the oil I tend to run 60 in the rear and 30 in the front
Great looking truck
Awesome video bro, I'm hooked...lol
Great video
Great looking cars have fun
I would use the narrowest tire I could. Too much drag on that big tire, you will always go quicker with only as much tire as you need. Compound makes a tire stick not width. Even if you have to adjust driving technique. Narrow slick is less drag, and less rotating weight and mass = quicker acceleration. The point has been proven many times, so there is no debating. Big tire looks good but there is no trophy or cash for that, unless you're at a car show. Just my two cents.
Sounds good dude! You might want to adjust a LITTLE more, just BARELY have it top out near the very end of the run, should be the theoretical best "tune" you can do with the gear in the car. The only thing is sometimes you want to compare the curves, because sometimes it's working too hard to get up to max and isn't really reaching it.
I was getting 2.9s and 3.00s also with it. Just the stock 29 tooth pinion gear installed
Good evening brother great channel cool cars
Go smaller on you spur to get your bigger pinion to fit. Like the Stock Traxxas Drag Slash , I think you can get more out of it and it goes amazingly straight with no assist, good job driving !
Just have fun man. Thank you
Have a good weekend brother
Mark use the tekin drag electronics those are grear and reliable also you can put a sway bar in it
Good luck 😊
Love that tool kit mark.were u get it
Should maybe only preload the front when u push down helps me gotta have that sag in rear too launch good
I grindedthe holes on plate back running A 28
Love your content. The link for the Proline build takes you to a wish list at Amain but the list is empty.
My mother keeps squeal Traxxas I got three motors how to replace what do I need to do I running how 2s lipo battery going on back wheel drive / everytime I run it on my dirt track open field it sounds horrible it goes but it squeals when it comes back to the pits
Losi 22s...do a review on vs these two plz sir!!
Have you seen some of the big money drag races in rc no prep?
Are you still planning on getting the losi? Would like to see a comparison between those two, the losi, and the dr10.
What was that tool bag in video?
What kind of diffs do they run in drag race. Is it locked? Another question, do they limit the steering so you can make small adjustments with the entirety of the steering wheel? I haven't seen anyone get these things to go straight lol. Is it possible? My slash could wreck these from a launch. What am I missing here?
I will say one thing with the proline drag slash, don't set the suspension after the burnout, especially with your suspension that soft. Let it have travel
What an amazing channel .fun and informative.a balance of both.
enjoyed to video. I just got a drag slash for myself. No test hits yet, but soon! My goal is to become --- " The Fastest Blind NPRC driver in Texas" We're close and should do sometesting together sometime.
Need help please. I am just starting in the 2s No Prep scene. I purchased a traxxas drag slash recently but am trying to upgrade it. On 3s, the motor is amazing, 2s, it seems really slow compared to what I've seen. I bought a Spektrum Firma 100A Brushless Smart ESC / 6500Kv Sensorless Motor Combo: No-Prep, SPMXSEMC13 to replace the stock motor but I think I made a mistake and might return it. what is the best affordable motor (not more than $200) you would recommend?
Higher c battery, use rug, or Matt to heat up tires, try double tap if wheels still spin. I have 1 drag car, I don't race just run for times. And I'm at 49 2.4 ish.
What is the toolkit you're using?
Do the stock Traxxas drag slash tires balloon since they aren’t belted tires
Wat gear was Dat on the slash???
Shock spring pre-load spacer, does the same as when you adjust the threaded collar on threaded shocks.
So the stock is using the TRAXXAS transmitter and receiver and the Pro-Line is on Spektrum so which receiver do you have in it does it have the AVC in it.
I think that you are not allowed to use the traction system at all in the UK at least.
Now you need to get the LOSI and Associated drag cars for a true comparison along with at least one of chassis kits on top of the Pro-Line kit.
I want to start a 1/7th class with the ARRMA, ZD and the Koyosho offering's.
I have found the Sky-RC GNSS GPS unit to be the most accurate.
You need to go and race others now.
He’s a racer. I’d be willing to bet it has no AVC
@@jasong712 Maybe but he was using the TRAXXAS dragster orientated TSM for the slow down after the run.
Need some 3 way adjustable shock!
I definitely wanna get me a drag slash. I just sold my maxx so maybe I’ll get one with that money I haven’t figured out what I want yet.
Did u say 15t pinion??
Oh yea!!!!
You should do a full traxxas UDR build
Get the Maclan drags esc
Gotta get the losi into the mix, see how that stacks up. Maybe the team associated
Try using a smaller spur gear For taller top end
What app are you using?
Hello brother can you put the parts list back up on amain hobbies please thanks
Why doesn't anyone seem to run smaller spur gears along with the larger pinion gears? It would multiply the speed that the transmission spins per motor revolution.
Traxxas sells a light kit for the drag slash
You're doing everything right the carpet does nothing
Let's goooo
Ask Jazmine at Traxxas she runs RC Divas and she’s really good at drag racing that would be a good collaboration I think. She could definitely help you with the drag racing aspect.
Can’t you take the bigger gear of the trans and put that on the motor and the little gear on the trans your gear ratio would be crazy
Are you saying test hits???
I have a R.R. 47T.
You have to do a longer burnout on the mat
You will have more traction on asphalt but it needs to be the right asphalt not a parking lot that's been sealed whith coal tar
I watch street outlaws good show
🔥💕👍
Go Texas
They make great sand drag trucks tho, fast as f..k! Your welcome
if youre trapping 50mph at the that time, youre losing traction big time, im not even trapping 50mph at 2.5. put some more heat into those tires, swap out to a set of belted tires while youre at it!
Smaller Spur gear on the proline.
Don't compress the suspension you want the wait transfer for traction!
Make a scale looking dragster. Either use a naturally wide bodied car like a LeMans style prototype or highly modified road racing car with fat fender flares or narrow the track width of the chassis and use scale bodies like on a 4-Tec.
Oh im late oh i see the coachd is here..
You will get better results on black asphalt not on cement the tires will grip better on asphalt
New motor and esc for both lol
Gnss is definitely slower around a tenth
If you need some help get with coach D he know a lot about drag racing.
Hook up with Jack Cecil. He's into drag.
Your transmission gear needs to be smaller that way you can put a bigger gear on your motor
But you will go faster
It's weird that a touring car like a 4-Tec (which makes left and right turns) is narrower than a one dimensional dragster that most people use the car as a digital on/of switch for the throttle.
You're definitely from Texas. Seement lol
So basically why you should pay more for the pro line parts you cna just buy the rtr version and some gears and will be better...
Traxxas fan boy
don't push down the car before launch, the car needs to rotate on the rear wheel axis to prevent too much tire spin on the intial hit. Play with the slipper clutch in small increments, sauce the rear tires, warm them up until you feel to car want to pull away or hear the tires "chirp" on your old car mat. The first 6' is important for a good launch and et.
Though you were the pro ! I question your know how ..keep practicing
These off-road buggy based dragsters are cartoonishly wide, aka not scale, aka FUGLY!
Just watch others videos witch I think you did. Otherwise if you don’t go through this Exercise you will never find out your own sweet spot of your build…again one guy Mentioned about the cement direction that place extremely big role in your line yes wrong Asheville to play on my opinion you need tar.
