D6732 & J94 No.22 depart Weybourne Yard to the station before heading to Sheringham together.
But the driver of No.22 forgot to take the brakes off. Which then ended up being dragged, the crew didn't notice until some of the shed come out of the sheds waving to stop them.
with no.22 doing the emergency whistle to get the 37 to stop.
After a short period they moved into the station, and then No.22 went back to the Yard.
and D6732 carried on to Sheringham solo.
No.22 did come back out into the gala. - Авто та транспорт
Shows how much low speed tractive effort a 37 has - hardly trying & not enough to notice something was amiss.
Back in 1970 I was fireman on the 8F 8233 at Bridgnorth. Some sort of diesel shunter was being unloaded from a low loader and ran away down the ramp. The guy in the cab screwed the handbrake down hard and locked the wheels, but the end of the brake screw hit the ballast and bent, so it couldn't be wound off again. Several attempts to disconnect the rigging failed so we buffered the 8F up to it, the driver wound her to about 55% back gear, gave her a hint of steam and off we went with the shunter in tow to clear the points. When these were reversed, he repeated to process in fore gear and propelled the shunter into the (then) goods shed. Again, no effort needed from the 8F. It takes less effort than you think.
Yikes! flat spots
Amateur night...........a real rookie mistake. Some people really shouldn't try and play trains. LIkely to have small flats that will run out but I have seen some horrendous ones in 42 years on the railway. Mostly due to brake faults.
It did re-enter service a few hours later.
Who's going to pay for the trip to the wheel lathe?
😂 so true
The 37 wasn’t even trying!
Working harder than it should have been
If sometimes UK from School Day because young teenagers to have a big massive lying needs stay up pretty late even more worse time cations
🕰️ 🤥
You didnt think of shouting an alert?
Having been on the footplate of a steam loco making noise like that and the 37 revving up. The likely hood of being heard is minimal.
@@dansmodelrailways7886rubbish, arm or light movements waved in a violent direction. noise doesnt come into it.
Bet that did the wheels a power of good
I'm getting quite concerned about the levels of competence on some of these preserved railways. It will not end well if they don't get a grip soon.
I wonder how long it took before the crew went to apply the handbrake and thought..........?
Insert Thomas The Tank Engine classic brake screeching sound effect
I won't go! I won't go! _I won't go!_ Grumbled J94
Don't be silly. Don't be silly. Said 37.
By coincidence, only a short time ago, I was watching a video (posted yesterday by Joe the uk train Fan) of brand new Merseyrail 777035 being dragged with brakes on and smoke pouring out. Seems to be a bit of a problem developing with this sort of thing.
its called an oops! moment
Oh dear
How many times have the ORR watched this?
Happens all the time on the big railway. Just listen next time a freight go's past you .
Was it the brakes though as the wheels are turning to begin with, looks like hydraulic lock to me, maybe cylinder drains weren’t open, sat for a while, water in cylinders, wheels lock up after a couple of rotations.
😂
wolbert and d261
Whoops!
Its brakes, not it's! 😉
Wouldn’t be sursprised if No22 hasn’t got some nice flat spots on her wheels… can just imagine… bdumph … roll….bdumph….. rol… hope the wheels and brakes were ok 😂
Everything is working fine on No22 it wasn’t even a few hours later for it to re-enter service and didn’t need a trip to the wheel lathe
Brakes locked on? Or someone cocked up?
A bit of both
@@CuckooAboutTRAINS hope she didn't get flats
That isn’t good!
@@DobbinHorse Both statements are correct by the look of it: the brakes were fully on and it was a mistake for it to be dragged with locked up wheels.
Crew on the steam loco should off checked them before moving off
Pulled it on tick over....
1. Why put it on UA-cam for everybody to see and 2 why didn't you shout to alert them.
Well done for carrying on filming, rather than shouting or trying to raise attention. I hope it was worth the UA-cam views. Some people do make me wonder at times...
Weekend warriors strike again.
Ban j94 driver how much neglected damage disgusting
It's not a j94
