Lovely sight. There's nothing so panoramic on the big railway today.

Used to ride one of these every Sunday from Barking to Leytonstone then back. My overriding memory is the five minute gear change. It always felt as though the train was going to slow to a halt before the driver got it into the next gear...

Lovely restoration, abit of a hybrid going on here with the metro-cammell class 101 , it wasn't unusual to find van in tow either 😀.

My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🚇🚃🚋🚞🚝🚊🚉🚄🚅🛤🚂🚈 especially diesel railcars like the class 104 & 101 seen in this video he thinks they are highly underrated rail transportation vehicles and all should be preserved, restored, and put back into service carrying both passengers and mail on lines that are not used anymore or at least don't get passenger service. He also thinks that Siemens, Progress Rail, or any other company that builds railroad equipment should build full size working replicas of historic diesel railcars and the departments of transportation should restore and rebuild railroad lines that were abandoned and removed and run these on them. But not just in Britain 🇬🇧 but in North America 🇺🇸🇨🇦 as well.
