  • This video was meant to be a single take but as I was editing I found that there was too much interesting footage. So I decided to split it into two parts, The blade and the Handle.
This knife will be available for sale to my youtube followers. Price is US$1000 and includes the Knife, usb drive with uncut footage, forged youtube play button and a custom display box.
Thank you for watching and stay tuned for part 2 The Handle next weekend

You seem to be one of the last few makers who do a really great forging tutorial. It seems most want to be music producers.

I wish I was that good with polish grinding. I have ruined so many stinkin builds trying to get A45 perfect... I quit at 220 now and torture myself with hand sanding lol.

There are a number of Knifemaker grinders available for suppliers all over the world. Mine is from a South African company herbst.co.za

Stuart, you are an inspiration! I hope to own one of your Bowie's in future. Question: At about 8:21 in the video you grind in the clips - Do you have any tips on that process? You knocked it out so quickly!!! I attempted it for the first time recently and I had a heck of time keeping things flat and symmetrical/even. I ended up with a grind going farther down the blade and farther back than what I planned. Obviously, I need more practice, but any tips appreciated. Thank you for all the helpful videos!

Thanks for watching. Yeah clips are tricky. I grind and keep symmetry by eye. Just a lot of practice

Awesome video, what thickness do you take the edge to on your final grind?
