Making a Bowie part 2 : The Handle

- THIS KNIFE IS SOLD NOW. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
In this video I focus on the handle portion of the build, completing the knife. Handle materials are 303 stainless steel and arizona desert iron wood.
This video is a little longer because it is so hard to include all the details. Even now it feels rushed, but I elected to leave as much of the interesting techniques as I could. Many don't understand how long it takes to make a knife. What is represented here represents 2 - 3 days of labour, cursing and rage quits.
If you wish to support me or the channel, please consider purchasing this knife. You can contact me on any of my social media platforms .

Here we go!
Wow such beautiful work
WONDERFUL, I have no words, always super perfect and unique precise product, wonderful work and video, well done and good luck, respect from old BG.
Dude! What a masterpiece. I’m 75 years young and have been retired for awhile. I’d love to have the patience to achieve such a skill. That Bowie is magnificent. Thanks for sharing the process. 👌
That knife took WAY LONGER then 2-3 days to make. More like a couple decades.
Absolutely outstanding craftsmanship
Hi Stuart. I hope you had a great Christmas and new year, and I hope you are well.
Kind regards.
Thank you for sharing techniques. I will definitely be using them in the future.
I didn't know Smurf came in a spray can! I need to look that up.
Looking good stu. Love the wood and the shiney balls. Lol
That came out beautifully. Nice job!
Amazing job!!! Thanks for share
Awesome work Stu.
Bravo, what a beautiful piece.
Gorgeous, lines really flow nice to look at.
Muito top! Parabéns pelo trabalho
Brilliant...............................
This is such a beautiful knife. I do have one unrelated question, if you happen to have the time. In the dogbone Bowie you show on your YT cover picture, how did you fix the engraved plate to the handle? I do not see any nails or screws, so maybe epoxy? Cheers!
Brazed pins on the back and mounted in corresponding holes with epoxy
@Smith Hand Forged Knives Wow that's brilliant, hadn't thought of it! I assumed you had to nail or screw it onto the handle the traditional way, since that's how most exemplars I've seen are constructed. I wonder if back in the day any makers used a similar method... Thanks!
Beautiful Knife 🔪 Well done!
Beautiful work mate.....
Thanks for buffing your ball's off camera 👍
🤣
Absolutely stunning
Gorgeous knife.
🔥⚒🔪👍✌
Just came upon your video. What happened to making videos? Did something happen? I hope you are ok?
Thanks for watching. I am ok. Just a pain to make and edit videos. I want to do more. Just need to make time.
@StuartSmithHandForgedKNives I totally understand. I was just worried with Covid and no vids. I enjoyed the videos I did watch
Beautiful job Stu!
Liquid smurf is funny 😜
what a quiet grinder)
Exceptional video showing how you make each piece of the handle. Nice thought by showing enough of each part during production and finish so that it makes sense, and I have a clear idea how to replicate. Thank YOU !!
Beautiful piece! And, as always, the real beauty is in your sharing of knowledge, technique, and craftsmanship!
Brilliant work!
wow....baie mooi.....
Master at work !
OOOOO that dremel cutter trick on the drill press for your file work is a great idea! I have a bowie build I'm working on now. I'm totally going to try that!
