Hey guys! Thank you to each and every one of you who has fairly commented about nutritional claims made in this vid. We're so sorry for confusing you all and really do thank you for your diligence. We strive to be the leading authority on food education and so have got the best advice from our top nutritionists to clear it all up:
*As bananas ripen the starch turns to sugar, so the sugar content increases. Therefore when eating bananas, the riper they are the sweeter they will taste. Eating bananas before they become over-ripe means you will be consuming less sugar than if they were slightly more ripe, however it’s important to remember it is still all natural sugar. Freezing fruits and vegetables before they become over-ripe is a good tip to helping them last longer.
**Blueberries are high in Vitamin C for immune health and cell protection which helps to prevent the onset of life threatening diseases.

Bananas are best when ripe, better for you in general too, fuck the calories, nutrition over calorie counting
theres nothing wrong with fruit sugar, its fuel, the world's scared of fruit but eats dead animal's and thinks its healhy lol
+MatthewMUFC20 YES thank you!!
+Ruth Kavanagh Yep, calorie counting is such bullshit. E.g, if you can only have a certain amount of calories per day, then that means you could just eat as many chocolate bars/junk food as it takes to hit that calorie goal, right? But your body wouldn't be internally healthy. Nutrition and calories should always be seen as two very different things, that don't necessarily go hand in hand.
Hell yeah! 😝
+Areiniah MLS I think you are being a bit inconsiderate and dismissive. Not everyone knows as much about nutrition as you do. Calorie counting is reasonably effective, and it is simple to use for everyone who need to lose some weight.
I need 3 minutes to find my kitchen in the morning.
+timmy yong It sounds like no time at all but in the morning, 3 minutes can make all the difference in the world.
HAHAHA
HAHAHAHAH
Why?
Dam ha ha that’s funny
Looks good, except buying all that in the shops.. your looking at $12-15 just for 1 breakfast in Australia..
$12-15 for a handful of oats, a tablespoon of yogurt, half a mango and a handful of blueberries? I don’t believe it
Yummy breakfast, but will definitely take more than 3 mins. Especially with cleaning up :)
P.S.: Despite ripe bananas having more sugar, I would still prefer them over the greener variety, since they are easier to digest and the sugar is natural, thus easy to digest.
Looks so perfect. I love the attention to details in this simple recipe!
Cracking little breakfast. Loving these videos!
I thought i was the only one who watched every single video 😂 i see your comments on every single video. I subscribed right away after I watched your channel trailer.
I've been loving these daily videos! Keep them coming!
Thank you for this breakfast idea, I tried it with different fruit variations and absolutly love it!
I just LOVE the daily Jamie series!
I am already in love with this recipe just watching it! Amazing.. U have such an amazing way of presenting ur stuff, including ur videos and style.
because I totaly have time for that in the morning!!!
Wonderful and colorful and healthy! Thank you for sharing with us your daily Jamie!
God bless this man. I just made it and just the smell alone is awesome
I love this idea! I love the taste of oatmeal, but never liked the texture of it...but I never thought to toast it instead! So trying this! Yum!
I think I'm only person that actually prefers unripe bananas. Everyone else likes them normal.
No! Ripe bananas are too soft and sweet for me :)
I only buy the green ones and eat them when they are green-yellowish. Everybody else here auround me only eats the ripe ones :)
+Nali Singh you just things much harder than softer. understandable
I like them firmer
I like unripe bananas more than ripe. But as a natural sweetener I use ripe ones. I think, people are making too big problem of it. Both types of banana are good if you eat them within reasonable limits.
I tried this recipe today and i liked it very much, with one exception the Fennel
Eating this right now while watching the video again. So incredibly delicious and quickly made. Thanks for the idea!
Jamie, another great video. Would steel cut oats work here? Would I have to toast them longer or do anything else to them? Thanks!
don't eat unripe bananas. Jamie's wrong on this one!
I would argue the point about bananas.. More sugar when ripened further, indeed, but also studies have shown there to be considerably more antioxidants as well. So, that makes the decision a little more complicated.. This is similar to my everyday breakfast, which includes a half pint of blueberries (usually organic but WILD! now because of summer and Ontario!), raw almonds crushed in a pestle and mortar, an organic mixed nut and honey granola cluster cereal and topped with organic cinnamon. Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for this!
Gosh, this healthy breakfast take is a masterpiece
Love this! Thank you! Have you done or plan to do any quick and healthy work lunch videos?
This was a beautiful video. 😊
This looks great Jamie! I can't wait to try it out tomorrow morning
+Jamie Oliver better than good. It was AMAZING
I wish you can do more healthy recipe like this one! love it!
jamie. your recipe is really really good. But, I think i can replace mango with peach or other fruit.
I love adding coconut sugar to the blueberries it is like a syrup also a great natural food colouring I add the syrup to blueberry muffins, pancakes, waffles
The flavours of this breakfast pop out of the screen as I watch this. Great colour correction
Thanks for the link to the book. Can't wait to use those recipes.
***** Haven't gotten the book yet - it's on preorder. : ) But I have done other recipe's here - chocolate mousse... yum. That's not a superfood though, but it is super delicious.
Love this breakfast! Just tried it out with strawberries.
loved it, thanks jamie ^^
This takes three minutes, if you have a filming team setting everything up first
You are so creative! Thank you.
Oats are my favorite breakfast food. You really dressed them up! I need to check out the fennel in my oats.
the only problem with heating fruits and veggie (roasting, boiling etc) is that atually heat destroys vitamins very quick :/
i like to eat my fruits raw, it will feels weird for me to cook my fruits, maybe just grill peach during summer as dessert
It's too fancy for breakfast OMG must try!!
The production values of these videos has really stepped up. But please, less of the blurry stuff.
This looks so good! trying it!
Amazing nice looking breakfast thanks Jamie you are the best 😬👍
Perfect breakfast :) Love Jamie
wow...that looks so nice! I hope can find that shreds of dried coconut somewhere in the Netherlands!
Gosh - this looks sooo good!
Love this am going to try tomorrow, thanks
I prepare them your way daily 🙏 thanks !
Looks good, Jamie!!
you are the best jamie oliver
This looks like a breakfast I would like to eat every morning!
Wonderful recipe!! So healthy!
Loved this!
very tasty I like the toasting of the oats, the fennel seeds that's a cool spin on breakfast I love the smell and flavor of fennel. I am going to have to make this for breakfast here soon
These vids are so nice , really love it :)
I always put instant oatmeal with my fruit. Can you eat oatmeal uncooked?
Te amo! Eres increíble !!
Love this!
Many years ago I heard (as a tourist) in Scotland that their morning oats-porridge is salted, in contrast to England - where they put sugar in it (they were very proud with the salting-way). It seems to me I have a lot to catch with modern British food, and I think I'll be happy to fill the (political/gastronomical/ historical... :) gap with your toasted oats, mango, etc. Thanks for uploading.
now you just need 5 more servings to feel like you ate something. XD
Yes 😂
Yes for the fruits, but I find oats decently filling in the morning, especially once you start chucking in seeds and nuts
to get the juices out of the berries it be really good to use salt to
This looks amazing! Need to get some fennel seeds
LOVE IT!
Love love love this. :)
Úžasné uklidňující video :) a pro nadšence lesa ještě víc, protože ti tento pocit znají. Teďka si dám ještě dva týdny práce a pak hned vyrážím někam pod stan.
I will try it this weekend! Yummy... Will it work as well with strawberries instead of blueberries?
I know you guys mean well, but all of these "nutrition facts" are so random, I don't know why you're constantly trying to push them out. I mean, how is it usable for the average viewer/consumer? Just because you eat blueberries, it doesn't mean you won't get cancer. And you have to eat a ton of bananas to gain any sort of weight from them, it can hardly be regarded as an issue. I wish you would ask how all of this is useful, rather then randomly just bursting it out. Because all it really seems to do is confuse people, which is evident by the comments.
I know right. Jamie loses a lot of credibility going all-in with the superfood nutcases.
it's a shame that the guy who used to be the 'naked chef' who didn't care much for all the bullshit around cooking, Mr. "no way; it's not me, it's the food", is focusing more and more on food presentation, self-promotion and branding and 'super' food this and that...
I'd rather watch some more of 'Jamie at Home', and the old 'Naked Chef' episodes that this bullocks about 'super' foods... Please Mr. Oliver, go back to the basics...
+FiXato i agree, really do enjoy jamie at home over foodtube but we have to recon what jamie did for the country and the eating habits all over the world. He's pretty close to being the face of fighting obesity.
***** Well that's my point. I don't think it makes people eat healthier food, because I don't think they will care about this information. But more importantly, if you are overweight, it doesn't matter that you decrease your chance of getting cancer by eating blueberries. It just matters that you eat any fruit. I can't imagine anyone standing at their vegetable market thinking: "Should I get some strawberries or some blueberries? I better go with the blueberries, because they prevent me from getting cancer." It's just silly to think that.
There's a difference between making people conscious, and making people confused. It's not just about the message you're trying to convey, it's also about how you deliver it. Are you really making people more conscious about what they eat, or are you just scaring them away?
***** I like to think that I'm a realist. But I guess that depends on your perspective.
Which brand oat they use? I would like to get it :)
pretty expensive breakfast
Good to know about the bananas! I only like them when they've only just turned yellow anyway 😄
This is just yummy, please do more breakfast videos! :))
3 little minutes? This easily took 20 minutes.
hotdogsvin nope 3 mins
and then you need to tidy up afterward...
Did he cook the oats?
his 3 minutes are never 3 minutes...
xD then you do not know how to cook but i think 5 min is better for the average cook
Anyone else think food tube should do more breakfasts? :)
This is a lovely video, I should try this sometime. Laughing at how 80 percent of the comments seem to be about the banana bit, though lol
I just had a blueberry muffin! I'm healhy toooooo
Please ignore his 'advice' on bananas, it's untrue and literally makes no sense. Bananas are healthier (and tastier) when ripe!
it does make alot of sense. if u have ever tried a green banana it is alot less sweet as less sugars have developed.
Jury's out, but the caloric difference of ripe vs underripe fruits is likely negligible. If you're overweight, it's probably not the bananas...
in Latin America they use green Plantains which are packed in vitamins. would like to play with this using plantains.
Going to give this a go!
Looks very good. One question: Why no milk with the oats? Would milk be okay with the oats? This looks like a muslix type of thing.Looks quite healthy.
which gas cooker are you using? Is it portable?
Looks delicious, but does toasting oat without honey or oil make it crunchy ?
Not a chef nor a nutritionist yet this is my breakfast lol. Add some toasted nuts for extra crunch and nutrients. Yum!
Gosh man. A banana is ready to eat when it's speckled. It's full of starch when it's green, which is the same amount of calories but way harder to digest, casusing constipation and (by the way) more likely to be stored as bodyfat. There you go - green banana....pfff
+Koobee Tee "more likely to be stored as bodyfat" nope, nothing is more likely to be stored as bodyfat. It all depends on how much energy you use, not what you eat -.-
+Koobee Tee THANK YOU!!
I was yelling at my screen!! Since when is any fruit best to eat when it's unripe?!!
Who is this nutritionist?!!!! Come on, Jamie! It is soo terrible for digestion. You gut will hate you for attempting that green banana, not to mention that furry bits (very technical) on your tongue ughhh! Speckled and almost mushy is when bananas are at their best.
+Louisa Moy p.s. banana sugars are great sugars in moderation!!! Your body can digest these sugars and are a great energy boost for breakfast!
thanks for an interesting beautiful breakfast;
well a high cholesteral is not bad and bananas are best when dark(has more nutrints)
Wait, are you saying bananas make more calories as they ripen? Pretty sure they dont, that doesnt make much sense.
+J583 They don't. But it will contain more sugar.
+MeldinX2 But its completly irrelevant since starch isn't healthier than sugar.
+J583 right thats what i thought xD. But you know even if the ripe bananas had more calories, I wouldn't care. CAUSE RIPE BANANAS ARE LIFE. AHHAHah sorry i really reallly really love ripe bananas :P
+lowloww100 I like them not to sweet, but if you wont to cook with them I`ll go with the ripen ones
He forgot to make the scrambled eggs... wait, only all these carbs are the breakfast? I would be hungry within an hour.
I wouldn't blend any fruit, fruits with yoghurt, but I would eat it with the oats, either way. The rosewater thing, I never tried before 😃
Is there a way to substitute the Yoghurt by something that doesnt contain milk?
Your fennelseeds seems smaller than the ones I've bought here in Sweden. Does the large ones work as well?
that nutritionist has got to be a joke right? "you're best off eating it early on really"
REALLY? It's a natural piece of fruit FFS don't worry about the ""sugar""
James Sherwood a nutritionist probably knows more than you about nutrition
cool !!!
"If you're looking to lose a bit of weight eat un-ripe bananas" - Jamie Oliver. Professional Chef
starchy goodness on a plate. Good luck trying to eat this without 4 liters of liquid.
true
Not crazy about the un-ripe banana. I'd say just eat 1/2 if you want to reduce the sugar content. Plenty there in the mango, blueberries & yogurt. This looks good, except that I was surprised the oats were only toasted & not cooked. This all seems hard to digest, to me. Nope. don't think it's for me. I have cooked oatmeal & blueberries most days.
omg i used to subscribe to this chanel like before 2 years go n i lost my email. . n i found this channel again happy😊
you had me at blueberries
Quite lovely! You get a little of the fat from the coconut, some carbs, protein from the yogurt and lots of vitamins and antioxidants from your fruits. Very well balanced! Thanks Jamie!
Lovely!
Yum!
This guy is a pretty good cook. He could probably make a living as a chef.
please do more breakfast ideas
Which seed he used , i have never heared for something like that before
That's different... Cool. Thx
i have always likes the green bananas the best i actually dont like yellow bananas im just happy to hear that im only healthy!
