This is the best practice for lower back pain. I’m highly recommending for everyone who I know are suffering from lower back pain. I do have on and off back pain and this practice combine with my phisio session make me recover much faster. Thank you Caley- you created amazing work. ❤
Thank you Caley. I hurt my back about 6 yrs ago, and lost all my ballet flexibility. Yoga has been a huge part of my restoration and gaining back all my back strength and flexibility. I loved this class:-) thankfully through yoga I haven’t had back pain in ages but it still tightened up on me so this was great! Please do more of these type as I loved the way you taught us, not just telling us to go into a pose. Thank you again!
love her classes. really builds foundational work and pairs it nicely with the breathe. This one in paticular is a gamechanger for me, as I have lowerbackpain due to one leg being longer than the other.
I love all of Alo's yoga classes here on UA-cam! This is the best explanation of protecting and opening your lower back through yoga I've ever heard. I was a dancer for 20 years and have been dealing with chronic SI pain and surrounding muscle tightness. In yoga, flexing your lower back is "cooler" looking, but Caley's moves and tricks have already brought space and relief to my lower back inflammation. Thank you Caley & please offer more advice like this- it's hard to come by! xx
Thank you so much ❤ Best practice and tipps for lower back pain (and legs). It would be lovely to have more videos like this for back pain. In any case: Thank you very much
What an amazing class ! Holding the poses were not easy, definitely a gentle challenge 😅 And the twisting tutorial was definitely the cherry on top. Thanks for this Caley, my back is grateful and happy.
I love all of your classes. Have you ever thought about maybe doing a class for folks with Scolious? Yoga is my favorite thing to do to relieve pain in my lower back for Scolious. I think you could teach some amazing tricks and tips!
Yesterday I was in A&E with a back injury sustained from lifting a heavy disabled child and twisting to put them on a bed. My back cracked and i was in complete agony for many hours. I had numbness in my legs and feet and was prodded and poked by the doctor at the hospital to ensure there was no adverse spinal injury. I could hardly walk. The painkillers did not work until they gave me Diazepam and Ketorolac. I came home last night worried that I could never do yoga again. I used to be very active but now at 51 years old yoga is all i have. I have spent the day searching for some yoga i can do whilst in recovery. I have just finished this gentle restorative sequence and will continue to do this until I am fit and well to flow. Thank you so much Caley for this invaluable class.
my lower back is feeling soooo lovely, i also find it amazing you you provide us with so much important knowledge about the poses, so thank you so much! ❣️
Great class for the lower back. I have chronic low back pain and extremely tight hips from a lifetime of quick reaction sports like basketball and tennis. Also Caley's voice is nice blend of soothing yoga and enthusiastic energy. Well done. My back and hips feel great.
Thank you YOGI=COACH CALEY ALYSSA, I loved the class, it was the first time I practiced this class. I dont have lower back pain, GLORY TO LORD, but I do carry a lot of weight all the time, besides I love to LEARN with you the meaning of each pose. Thats pretty cool & sweet of you, God bless u, xoxo D.
Thank you Caley, this just has been so releiving and I feel my whole lower back activated and warm ...learned that I can apply more about applying spine flexion and how to twist in a healthy way as well...great :)
This was one of the best classes I have ever done. I have been trying to increase flexibility with the Avanakadasana (don't know how its spelled) and I actually hurt my lower back and hips so much that I couldn't walk for a day. I've also been trying to open my lower back up for ages but have had such a trial in doing anything even with a daily practice. I finally found the poses to help me in this class. This is going to be my go-to for a long time. Thank you so much, Caley and the team. I just want to do this class again and again and again!
5 days of very bad lower back pain. On the second day I started doing this class, and every day since I have done it. Before the class there is a significant tilt forward in my posture, but after the class I am able to walk vertically again. Thank you!
Great class! This really changed my practice, and gave me some relief from my low back. More instructors should learn these tips instead of pushing people into poses. Yoga is hard enough on its own, yet even harder with injuries. Would love to see more like this!
It’s a great flow for the lower back. I feel instantly relieved after this, thanks so much! The last one with knees together and feet apart is magical....so soothing thank you 🙏🏻
did not realize just how much tightness I had in my low back before this practice! this is a total life saver- my spine was making all sorts of noises as I went, but felt so refreshing in the end!
I was having a really bad lower back pain and right after this class, my lower back no longer hurt and was able to sleep through the night. Thank you so much!!!!!!! I’ve learned so much bc I was doing so many other yoga moves that actually compromised my lower back. You are amazing. Def saving this video for my future yoga practice.
wow! very very helpful... for any of my friends that struggle with low back pain I'm definitely recommending this video! this was extremely educational for proper rotation and alignment and I truly believe anyone who avidly practices yoga (OR NOT) will really benefit from it! I will be practicing this on a rather frequent basis!
Amazing video. Thank you!! I have been practicing yoga daily for 2 years but suffer from scoliosis as well as joint inflammation depending on the weather or my diet and yoga has actually injured me or pushed me too far on too many occasions bc teachers don't teach in a thoughtful manner and the classes I take aren't divided by level, in fact new students look to me as the model student to mold their practice after which is a very flattering complement I get in so many words so often but I often find myself being surprised that teachers don't give modifications or explain poses even when they see a new student in class. It's made me want to switch up what studio I attend and I also want to start teaching so I can teach yoga well and carefully. I just really love this video so much and even shared it with my brother David who was just diagnosed with scoliosis. I've known I have a 37% curvature for years but he's just experiencing unbearable pain now and had his curvature confirmed by his doctor this week which was upsetting for him bc he's very physically fit and intune with his body. So I just want you to know this made a difference in my life. I will keep re-doing this video each day until I remember every bit for good. 💖💖☮
Hi Joy! Thank you SO much for your feedback and for sharing your story with us. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed this class and found it helpful. Sending you lots of love! xo, alo
This is amazing. I have a spine disease called Ankylosing Spondilitis and this is so great for that! I love that you paid attention tot he sacral area. Will be sharing this!
I have been searching for a yoga workout I can do while having a sciatica flare up and this was just fabulous! Some yoga workouts for low back pain trend too much towards stretching, but this one was also challenging, as well.
Thank you so much for creating this video! I already can see how my back will change if I practice these regularly. Really, thank you, it will make the world's biggest difference 🙏
Thank you. I appreciate the good points you make that are specific to back issues that are often neglected in yoga. I agree that low back extension is the key. One question: any suggestions for psoas pinching in certain postures? Your closing pose with knock-knees is a good suggestion, but for me it pinches a bit in the creases because of tight psoas.
Hello I love what you guys are doing. I also love this particular video because I have lower back issues. I want to get into yoga more. This is day 3 in a row. However watching this video showed me that some moves in the other videos I was doing isn’t the best for my back. Can you tell me what videos I should focus on consistently that will help me elongate my spine and release back tension?
It’s amazing how we are all connected, I recently have been having pain in my sacroiliac joints and have stopped doing yoga for a bit, do u have any advice on poses I should avoid? This video was helpful for me to know some techniques to help. Thanks Caley you have been very inspiring to me during this journey! 🙏
I don’t know what I did wrong but the cow face at the beginning was hurting my lower back and it was playing up again during this video. I will definitely try it again another day though !
🌈 Ciao Caley Adriano is here, I want to know that I practiceing yoga aaaalways also between this pandemic occurs, sometime I practice with you. I read already about this pandemic few year back, Krishnamurthi? I can't remember but he sayd about the 3 war world was a panfemic. I don't know if yoi remind myself but I was bikers, skydivers that was in coma with accident bike!? ❤ I love you style 👋 I wish you all the best Caley 🎶 NA-MA-STE 🙏
Most of these exercises for me was sheer agony. I have fibromyalgia so not sure what the best thing is to do. However I will keep trying this exercises to see if I gain any improvement. The pain I experience tends to be on the right side of my body. My right side leg socket I experience excruciating pain. When you sit back on your legs prior to the twist just the sitting back on my heels I cannot do. I experience sheer pain with my feet which makes me struggle to sit back on my heels.
im 68 yrs old have Spondlodlylosis or something like that...is much worse than the regular spinal stnosis...I' was scheduled to have surgery....6 hour spinal fusion but minutes prior to my surgery, they discovered I was severly anemic...8 hemoglobin, way too low for a big surgery like that....my legs are numb, sciatica driving me nuts...will this type Yoga help or do more harm?

24/2/23 Pushing the thighs away as the knees pull in while lying on my back was most effective for my lower back. Thanks Caley for your cues 😄🙏🏾🌻

Omg this was SO good!! The ‘cracks’ felt so good in my lower back!

Knees together instead of feet together knees apart is an amazing tip that I hadn't heard before - thank you!
I take away the push-pulls, @ 23:09. Really good stuff indeed, I coud feel my sacral area opening-up. Thanks!
I have chronic low back issues that I have to manage - so thank you for this!

19:55. That’s what I’m talking about
So if I can’t sit on my feet while kneeling, what’s the alternative?
Lost me at the block
Lots of 'teacher talk' and block work in this session.
Thank you!
