thanks! that's likely because the people in the band are not only killer musicians, but genuinely dig playing pop music, and aren't cynical and shitty about it like most trained musicians are
Its hard to believe how such a great youtube channel like this only has 30k subs despite the amazing, informative, quality videos that are uploaded quite regularly! As a highschooler aspiring to be a musician, I think your videos definitely do give me a very realistic view of a musician in the real world that I lack knowledge of. I just feel lucky that I have found a youtuber who touches on the subjects and topics that I've always wanted to know in the most entertaining ways possible.
Your whole band is great! It's cool that you get to be a part of the happiest day of this couple's life. What makes a gig fun versus not fun for you? You seem to have much more fun at this gig than in vlog#1. Your subtle envelope filter sound is cool. It's just enough to make it noticeable without being ridiculous.
Haha! I wonder if it is a bass player thing (At 5:32) to always check the volume knob whenever there is a micro second of pause in the bass line? I know that I do that about 7895 times a gig or so.. Great video, as always!
Adam, as a guitarist and a composer, I have such a deep respect for your ability as a musician and a composer. Please keep making these awesome videos! You inspire me!
Awesome as always men! I would love to hear some thoughs about Frank Zappa (maybe a video?), his melodic aproach o something about his bassist or anything really! (Also you should check bassist Pedro Aznar, amazing musician)
I'm a metalhead who plays in a country cover band. It's a weird change from what I like to play, but we have a blast. Even with the pain in the ass and the doldrum of travel, rehearsal, waiting, etc. when you play a great gig, it makes it all worth while. Great vid. Way to wait til you were about to kick in and play to cut at the beginning. I sort of hated you for a second.
Just amazing! There aren't that many bands, which can perform the songs better than the original. Is there going to be a full version of "I've got a feeling" someday? That song was just a killer. Not only the mood of the song, but also the singers running from stage into the wedding party. Perfect.
I love watching these gig vlogs, they are very inspiring. The amount of effort and thought it must take to arrange those entrance songs is incredible. A lot of brain power and co-ordination on everyone's part, well done as always! It would be interesting to see what a video of your band rehearsals would look like (if you have time between all the gigs to rehearse at all, that is!), just to see how efficiently you get through those too! ;)
Wow both of those female singers are on point, that's hard to keep for an entire night! In fact, you were all tight as hell! How did you get that tone on 24k? I've been looking for some type of effect that can get a really synthy tone on my bass, but with like a tearing sound on each attack... It's hard to describe
Awesome set! In my recent experience with playing at weddings (I'm an amateur) I could only get old cheesy romantic gospel Brazilian ballads. Best song I'd ever played in a wedding was A Thousand Years, which I actually sand with my wife :)
dude you play like fking hell crazy good xD congratz for everything from Portugal. Even at a gig like that, we can see how much you like what you do :)
Hi Adam. Thanks a ton for all the great info and inspiration your channel offers people. I have a question about the drummer in the wedding band's musical choices. He seems to play quite busy parts, but to me it seems to fit the mood and feel quite well. But I'm not concrete about my thoughts on that. Can you talk about a bit about your thoughts on a drummer's musical responsibilities at a wedding gig like this in your next Q&A? I feel as though my personal preference is a tad biased and could use your perspective. Follow up question. I'm moving to Toronto in 6 months, and have experience doing these types of cover gigs, on a lower profile, and am looking to step up to something of this musical demand. From where I am now, what would be the next few steps in breaking into this type of scene? Who do you even need to get close to for a chance to audition? Thank you again for all the spectacular content.
Bro! I am loving this series! (not actually crack cocaine). much respect and appreciation for you going the extra miles to do the camera work to document this. Pleeeease keep it coming! (little more drummer cam if you can) -still subscribed as hard as i can
A couple of things: 1. I love the "jazz scat" keyboard patch (at 1:20), and as ridiculous as it might be, I've been hearing it in a ton of music lately - especially Dilla style beats. 2. Before you deleted the original posting of the first gig vlog, I made a comment on the video asking if you could go into detail in the future about The Metropolitan Players' live sound setup. I play a ton of special events with my band and we use the same Presonus board that has popped up in these videos - but I'd love to know more about the other gear you all use and how you go about soundcheck.
the gopro 4 is weird and foggy when you are shooting from the dark to light.. I had the same issue at a gig I did the other day.. I think there is a setting that helps that from memory.. gotta check it out myself :)
Great vids. Awesome band. How often and for how long do you practice together? And what's the name of the girl singing "Respect" (3:20)? Where can we find more of her? She's fantastic!
How do you prepare for a gig like this? Do you and the rest of the band get together to rehearse before the gig? Are you given the list of songs to learn? How much time do you usually have between landing a gig and playing said gig?
Y'all gotta work some P-Funk and/or George Clinton into that set, dog. How amazing would it be to start playing Atomic Dog or, like, Aqua Boogie out of nowhere?
That's one pretty badass band. You don't see bands a lot that are playing popular music and actually KILLING it
thanks! that's likely because the people in the band are not only killer musicians, but genuinely dig playing pop music, and aren't cynical and shitty about it like most trained musicians are
Must cost a fortune to hire this very talented band.
It is known that wedding gigs pay more
The stage presence and voice of the singer during RESPECT was beyond amazing.
Man your drummer looked like he was having a great time at the end there
Sorry, but the last gig vlog spoiled me. I now expect to see an aloof cat in every wedding show.
Well, now I need to go back and watch the one with the aloof cat. Thanks. :)
Aloof haha. Hilariously fitting.
At 6:41 your drummer had so much fun ahahah! Sweet!
Such amazing musicians, especially the drummer
This drummer looks awesome to be playing with!

3:22 that harmonic bend
wow those were some awesome bass fills, you're my goal man

Great video, as always!
Följer du samma basvloggar som jag? :D
Magnus Hedlund Verkar så!! :D
Lol nope look at every guitarist play through / live performance ever haha
I swear the volume knob has a mind of its own. I'm surprised someone hasn't invented "locking knobs" yet.
3:52 that dance floor is SOOO well lit! I always find if the dancefloor isn't dark, people don't want to dance.
I freakin love how happy and into what he's doing your Drummer is around 6:20+ :D
I've replayed that lick at 4:35 about a million times. So sick.
It looks like you are having fun Adam, and that’s what really matters. Best wishes to you. I love all your videos.
Best gig vlog yet! Keep it classy, bro! Cheers from Brazil.

That drummer is so happy, I wanna be friends with him.
Excellent Adam... enjoyed this! Quality performances all the way around!
Adam’s bass tone RULES. Such a great player, and great band.
I love watching these gig vlogs, they are very inspiring. The amount of effort and thought it must take to arrange those entrance songs is incredible. A lot of brain power and co-ordination on everyone's part, well done as always!

I love these vlogs Adam! This drummer is amazing too haha
Ecstatic drummer made my day
Seeing Adam and the singer so into respect and jumping around is just hilarious, and I don't know why
Outstanding, Adam. Thanks so much for sharing.
Weddings. You guys have great patience.
Thanks for taking the time to put these together. It's a great inspiration!
3:20 wow, what a voice
Amazing work, I want a full recording of that gig :D
dude the singer around 3:30 made my put my drink down and verbally proclaim how funky that was she killed it
Damn bro the band straight up rocked 24k magic! 👌do you have a full video?
I like you a lot as a musician, and a person, very humble and modest, I wish you the best.
These gig vlogs are so freaking awesome, they make me wanna try and start a band
the drummer is having so much fun its great to watch :)
Wow both of those female singers are on point, that's hard to keep for an entire night! In fact, you were all tight as hell!

Octaver + Programmable Envelope Filter. He's gone through his rig in a previous Q&A video.
I've never thought of joining a wedding band in the future, but damn do these gig vlogs make me want to, so badly.
Awesome set! In my recent experience with playing at weddings (I'm an amateur) I could only get old cheesy romantic gospel Brazilian ballads. Best song I'd ever played in a wedding was A Thousand Years, which I actually sand with my wife :)
I like the placement of the F clef here. Seemed like a nice gig!
HEY i golfed there and i remember this place where everyone is! cool. The bagels there were bad though.
@ 1:19 "the lick"
dude you play like fking hell crazy good xD congratz for everything from Portugal. Even at a gig like that, we can see how much you like what you do :)

Shure looks fun! Tight band you got there Adam.
That is a helluva kick ass wedding band!
Bro! I am loving this series! (not actually crack cocaine). much respect and appreciation for you going the extra miles to do the camera work to document this. Pleeeease keep it coming! (little more drummer cam if you can)
-still subscribed as hard as i can
Holy shit I can't stop rewatching the drummer around the 6 minute mark
Awesome gig, really shows how professionals can perform.
This is great stuff, can't wait to see more.
thats it.. I'm learning "We are family"
Well, original is rather simplistic, comparing to what Adam is playing ))
copypaiste tycho 👌🏼
high five :D
tycho is the jam. only just recently realized all the wierd time signatures he uses and his bass tones are great. not to mention the synths
I can't find the version Adam and the rest are playing.. :/
A couple of things:
1. I love the "jazz scat" keyboard patch (at 1:20), and as ridiculous as it might be, I've been hearing it in a ton of music lately - especially Dilla style beats.

Fuck, man... This band sounds perfect even through the cam audio! I'm impressed.
Adam, you're an incredible bassist!
This is really pushing me into applying for a wedding band. Looks like alot of work.. but fuck stacking shelfs
24K "synth" bass line. Dood! Doodzilla, even. That and keys made the whole song.
FUN GIG!
Thanks for sharing AN.
Wow. Just so good.
the gopro 4 is weird and foggy when you are shooting from the dark to light.. I had the same issue at a gig I did the other day.. I think there is a setting that helps that from memory.. gotta check it out myself :)

Enjoyable! I love that you named it "24K Magic" :)
AWESOME. MORE PLEASE
Sick video man, really enjoying these.
How do you prepare for a gig like this? Do you and the rest of the band get together to rehearse before the gig? Are you given the list of songs to learn? How much time do you usually have between landing a gig and playing said gig?
0:26 I feel you Adam. I feel you.
Hi! Could you make a video on your gigging setup/gear? Do you use a DI-box? And an active monitor for your bass AND the general monitoring?
Yea bro!!! Mosholu Pkwy!! Bronx boys represent!!! Luv ur work man. This band is killin!!!
looks like everyone was enjoying themselves. nice
Killing. Nice one Adam. Great editing.
Y'all gotta work some P-Funk and/or George Clinton into that set, dog. How amazing would it be to start playing Atomic Dog or, like, Aqua Boogie out of nowhere?
That girl can SING!
Nicely grooved Sir!
Good thing for working musicians that there are rich white people blowing crazy ammounts of money on weddings.
Lots of fun!
How is it called the song played at 3:30 ?
+Jd Tejeda Aretha franklin - Respect

That bass pov cam was really cool
You're like, a really good bassist.
3:16 what a performance! #respect
