7 years later, and this video helped me a lot today, thanks for the content!
So glad to hear the video helped you!
Your content is always precise man,
Thank you very much for all of this!
Thanks so much for watching!
"0 means freaking cold" 😂😂😂 very true. If it makes you feel any better we don't understand celceus. We get that like 0 is freezing and 100 is dead but that's about it. 😂😂😂
Please help how do you adjust your head lights ????
Excellent. Thanks!
Does anyone know if these stepper motors can squeak/squeal?
I've got an annoying squeak that very much sounds like it's coming from the instrument cluster. It sounds a lot like an old-school car with a squeaky speedometer/tachometer cable, which of course these don't have. The squeak is also very much in sync with road vibrations, so it seems like suspension or bushings except that it sounds so much like it's coming from the instruments.
They definitely can wear out over time and react incorrectly.
do u know how to remove the visors? ANYONE?
“zero means freaking cold” 😂
Doesn't it? Lol
Hi, regarding the swap of gauges, do you know if any sort of reprogramming is necessary? I’m faced with replacing mine due to LCD segments in odometer only partially showing. Can I swap another plug and play providing mileage is similar or will I still need further intervention to make it work? I’m seeing contradicting info on this.
You can try contacting these guys and see if they can help you out. clusterfix.net/store/product/03-09-nissan-350z-odometer-display-repair-service/
In your video to the left of the cluster is a dash vent. I need to replace it. Mine is cracked. Can I access the vent to remove it from there or another way? I believe there is a screw on the backside that holds it on. Actually both of them are cracked from sun beaten. Texas sun.
Larry Bustos From what I remember it's not hard to take off. There might be one screw then it pops off.
Anthony, can you help one of the 3 gauges on top of the radio don't work is the first one, is dead the other two are working ( oil, battery) is a 2004 350Z, thx
Might have to change that one gauge with a used one.
I have an automatic 06 touring and there is a huge metal plate right under the steering wheel that isn't allowing me to get a good angle for the back 2 screws when unscrewing the bottom plastic piece any advice?
Can you remove the plate?
They rpm light in my gauge doesn’t work do I have to just replace the bulbs like you said in the beginning of the video
The shift indicator light that blinks red?
Anthony, i have a problem with my 350z 2005. the lights of the dash dont go on when i turn the lights switch on . i check all my fuses and they are ok. i dont know what to do. i recently got the car and i didnt know it had this problem. can you help find the solution, thanks.
Do the lights on the stereo dim and the HVAC control lights turn on?
nice sound!
+Heriberto Gomez You can here the exhaust more here ua-cam.com/video/Ujo19gaTQaQ/v-deo.html It does sound smoother now though since some carbon has built up a little in the exhaust.
I’m not sure if this is a stupid question but I have to get a new gauge because I think my old one gave out. None of my lights work at all. I just am getting one shipped to me but if I were hypothetically to adjust the miles, have you made a video on that?
No unfortunately I have not made that video. I would call the dealership and see if they can program it for you.
So if I buy a used one with same make a model with similar mileages it doesn't need a relearn?
Technically no
Any chance a 370z cluster will plug n play on a 350z ? Any info will help. Thanks!
rolando e. limon Not sure about that. I don't know of anyone trying.
Hey Anthony it's Hex from RJM Performance. My Z is in Mph and wanting to convert everything to kph, so gonna order new gage cluster, redo all the LED's to a colour I like, but curious to know where to find the led screen that shows digital read out of mph and temp and all that stuff, the one on the very left of the 3 in the middle, where do I find one in kph bro??? Thanks for your Z help :)
You'll have to find it used at the junk yard, or online
I got my gauge cluster today, happy to find your vid. One question - how about mileage? Will my mileage update on new cluster?
It will stay the same of what's on it. You'll have to get it reprogrammed.
@@AnthonyJ350 well, I have replaced it already :) In my country you just need to legalise new cluster with different mileage and they change data in government database so on next MOT all will be legal 😃. In your vid you missed one thing which I came across during my replacement - on the cover there is one little speaker with cable plugged in - don’t pull it before unplugging the connector ;)
Overall great video, I’m happy with my new cluster 😁
@@olson9168 Thanks for watching, I don't recall seeing a speaker in mine.
Have u ran into the problem where the speedometer dont work abs, tcs and slip light on?
No I haven't yet, sound like you have a faulty speed sensor somewhere.
You know what happens if I break off the part next to 7:20 when you were pointing is it replaceable or is my gauge done for?
Check Z1 Motorsports if they have the part available.
@@AnthonyJ350 I’m not sure what the part is and for some reason it looks like a speaker center?
very useful .
Thanks!
You happen to know the size of the replaceable bulbs?
Sorry I do not.
U talked about swapping from standard to metric. How do you do this ???? ?????
+specialformula14 Yup. Just get the gauges from a metric vehicle at the wrecker and it'll just plug in and work. No programming required. I do recommend getting the odometer recalibrated which might cost some money at the dealer.
Hi Anthony, are you doing anything to your headliner or you gonna leave it gray?
+rafael soto Leaving it stock. I hate removing headliners and I have so many other things to do to the car. Check out my Instagram, just made a new interior bit for my Greddy Infometer Touch.
Would a metric overlay read the actual speed if I were to buy one from blackcatcustoms
supras7 Not sure. You'd have to see the positioning of the numbers to verify.
Yes
Can you make a video of how to jack up the 350z onto 4 jackstands ?
+Belshazzar Oraha I guess I could, I have a Megan Racing H-Brace coming in and I have to do an oil change. Do a lot of people have issues finding the jack points?
+AnthonyJ350 My brother and I both have 350Zs, never been an issue.
Does that stepper motor affect the actually rpm’s of the car or just the gauges?
It's just the reading, doesn't affect the engine.
I DID A STAIGHT SWAP OF MY CLUSTER AND NOW CAR WILL CRANK BUT WILL NOT START ? ANY HELP
Is it lighting up?
I have an 06, manual, I swapped main and center gauges from an 05 auto, I realize now I dont have the rmp limiter option anymore, before I switched it I had it set at about 6500. Will this now be set in the comp, or dose it mean I cant have it set anymore, or .....??
The reason I switched it was because Im in Canada KM, my car was in MPR.
The RPM indicator was just a shift light to my knowledge. It didn't actually limit the revs.
Seems to run fine, thats all Im worried about. Thanks man.
Got another question, i came across a set of stock leather power seat from an 05, mine are cloth manual from 06, figured I could probably run power to the seats myself. Lol I hope theres no problem since I cant return the seat , nor would I, what do you think??
@@NH-ov6vb I've never checked, you'll probably have to run your own power to those seats. I don't know if Nissan pre-wired all of the cars.
Hi Anthony , my HVAC and STEREO don’t turn on either . What can I do?
ROBERT BanAles Sounds like a defective dimmer switch. Do a continuity test with a multimeter on all the fuses.
Is it a dimmer switch on the dash? Cause I look all over but I couldn’t find it .
ROBERT BanAles It's on the left side of the gauge cluster. Those 2 buttons.
Oh ok , I think I tried those before but nothing happen. Is it difficult to change the dimmer switch ? Should I follow your video on removing the cluster in order to do so? I’m afraid I have never test continuity on fuses before, but if it is necessary I will do it . I look forward to your comments.
ROBERT BanAles I have a video how to check fuses. Check out my "how to" playlist. I'd call the dealership to see if the dimmer switch it separate, it might be part of the cluster circuit board.
I buy an automatic cluster for my MT it will work???
Not sure
@@AnthonyJ350 I will tell you tomorrow when I instaled it
@AnthonyJ350 it work perfectly but doesn't have te Cruise control but you can use it anyways
@@Dusntman OH nice! Does the gear indicator light up?
It's blank with the AT check ligth on, also I don't hace the trip Milleage A and B
clutch video
Thanks for watching!
YeSir...
What year is your Z
2006
My rpm gauge reads 0 when I idle do anyone know why it may be?
Does it work while driving?
@@AnthonyJ350 yes but when I approach a stop it drops down to zero. Not right away but gradually. The car doesn’t bog or anything
@@joshl9358 Most likely the stepper motor is worn out.
@@AnthonyJ350 thanks is it possible to replace just the stepper motor?
Anthony I will appreciate your comments : Jesus Banuelos y/o Robert .
Thanks for watching!
Nice video. Lol @ saying freakn cold makes more sens then water actually freezing at 0 🤔 lol what? It makes more sens the canadian way.. it is actually scientific..
I'm confused with the American accent and yet pronouncing it as "zed."
I'm Canadian and we pronounce Z "Zed".
Hi Anthony, if you ask if the
Thanks for the comment!
Great video but i cringed when you revved the engine in a cold start.
Car drove for 20 minutes before it got to the shop.
2:57. Incorrect, it is not based on needle position.
Thanks for the feedback. What is it based on?
sorry bud.. Zero Celcius is when water freezes.. and 100 celcius is when it turns to gas.. i was raised with farenheit and it changed here in canada when i was 12 years old.. it's better in the metric system
especially when you turn to tools.. 11/16 or 13/32 inch sockets.. what a pain in the butt..
metric makes more sense.. 11mm or 13mm or 17mm sockets.. whew..

I agree and I know. I'm Canadian, but have an American car. You can't tell by my logo?
