Once you promote and have a second active slot, try out the combination of Iron Will + Field Medic. If your entire team is down and you would otherwise lose the entire mission, you can get back up and revive at least one and sometimes multiple people. If you manage to get back any HP during Iron Will (resupply, red sugar, vampire, you name it), you will actually stay alive afterwards yourself as well. This has saved me several missions already that would've otherwise failed. I can't find any other perk combination that makes even remotely as much of an impact than that.

This path is for those who do multi-player. A suggestion if you play solo, swap the revive perk for the see-u-n-hell perk. It will help with melee damage in tight situation, as well as wiping out the horde that killed u, while Bosco revives you. Bosco has the ability to revive you up to 4 times with the right load out.
Is Hover Boots not considered a good pick?! I thought the ability to get to low ground without taking fall damage, or to save yourself from being dropped from a height was super useful!
It's also very good on the scout, since you can use it to mine out footholds in walls in the time it takes your grapple to recharge. This lets you collect resources high up on walls without relying on engineer platforms.
It's not bad, I think it's just easier to do without than some of the others. Dash is a much better mobility option for most classes, field medic probably saves more games than any other perk, having an extra damage sponge with Steve makes beast master super useful, iron will also saves missions (and combos really well with field medic on scout), and heightened senses is super important on cave leach missions. Hover boots is by no means bad, it can just be supplemented more easily than the others with a bit of practice and overclocks like hoverclock or special powder. Just my opinion though.

Milligin I’m enjoying the few missions I’ve played so far but my biggest issue is always finding my way back to the drop pod once I’ve collected everything...any tips that might help me with this at all as I find mollys tracking beacons are sometimes super hard to follow.
DerpyMcSquirtle there’s a couple things that might help. If you open up the map when the drop pod is coming in you should be able to pan around and see where it is in the cave, that should give you a general idea of where to go. If you have an idea where it is, don’t feel like you have to follow the mule because some times she paths in a way that’s very hard to follow. Once the drop pod lands, there should be an icon on your screen at all times that indicates the drop pod, if you aren’t able to see it on the map this should at least give you a general direction. The majority of the time it will spawn somewhere you’ve already been before so you can make your life easier on the way back by clearing better paths through terrain as your are going along in the mission. This way you won’t be on the clock for the drop pod leaving if you have to make a path for yourself through a complicated cave.
DerpyMcSquirtle when you use the map (terrain scanner) you can zoom out and get a lot more information, I believe on controller it should be one of the shoulder triggers to zoom out. If you pull out the ping tool, the mule will always be outlined, even if it’s through a wall, this should help if you are losing her from time to time. Make clean paths through dirt as to not get stuck on them on the way out. If playing driller by chance, you can drill straight to the drop pod (though this may require some upgrades to the drills first for drill speed or fuel).
at the time when this was made, the tiers effected how fast the passive indicator came up on screen (which was on the tool tip for the perk before the rework). whether this is/was intentional or not, there were additional mechanics not listed on the tool tip. The final tier of it was either instant or .2 seconds, I do not know if this is still the case in game or not. I have seen a number of people who don't think heightened senses is a good perk but the fact is that it was one of the most highly requested features by new players for 2 years.
Because active perks (blue perks) usually cost more than passive perks (red perks) and the other perks on that tier I didn’t pick because they weren’t available or cost too much. Follow the route I gave in the video, it is made for driller specific.

If you ever can’t get one of the perks I listed in the comment for you, spend points on a very cheap perk to make progress. Grey matter is oozing out of your ears trying to prove some point, go beg someone else for help, keyboard slug.

Follow the one in the video, the perks I tell you to get are good. That is the correct path. If you want 5 perks for driller that are viable at max difficulty take iron will, dash, vampire, resupplier, deep pockets. Just take random cheap perks to get to those ones. Typing ffs makes you sound so impatient, just go to a random DRG stream and ask the streamer to babysit you and tell you a route.

You don’t understand this because you are not good and inexperienced. You ask me if I am dumb but you literally have the video explain baby feed you the information that it is maximizing your perks to get to the end of the tree while getting good perks. Your infantile brain can’t make any assumptions along the way? You think this works some way it doesn’t? A lot of the perks are good and situational, there is no one build, close your mouth while you breathe.
@@BMiBudz i have given you two custom options since you can’t stop drooling for two seconds and make a choice for yourself. Take what I tell you in the video OR aim for those 5 perks that I listed. Almost all of the perks in the game are viable at the highest difficulty, most of them are optional enhancements. You can’t mess it up, you literally unlock all of them after a while, this video shows the most important route which is to get to the end of the tree, that is literally all that matters. Pick whatever perks you want beyond that.
Honestly doesn’t matter when you are picking value perks but second wind is like one of the worst passive perks in the game. It’s ok and you can take it cause it’s on the first tier of the tree but it doesn’t do anything. If u wanna come talk about what’s better/worse, I’m live every week on twitch with other drg veterans, happy to hear thoughts on perks.
ROIBR you will eventually be able to unlock every perk in the tree, it takes a long time to do. It’s not the end of the world if you pick up perks that you don’t like since eventually you will unlock them all.

It would be many many more to unlock everything but this is a lean way to get two slots while still having a couple good perks unlocked early. At 150 points you should be able to get almost all the way to the last tier with only a couple unlocks left before the passive slot unlock. I hope this helps.

Travis Romig depends on when that was, it is still an amazing perk. The passive version of iron will from beta was meta defining. With its single use per mission, there are many other active choices that are competitive with the perk.

Seems like I wasted a lot of stars upgrading my perks. Didn't know you can pick something from tier 1 to count towards unlocking tier 4 for example.

I have less than 100 hours and have almost every perk. So it's not that bad if you spend then wrong.
