If it's not clear in the final cut-despite some of its mod tiers being lopsided, I really appreciate how all of warthog's OCs are at least reasonably good. The mechanical stuff in the video aside, I'd recommend anyone who uses it to try switching to a different OC than they normally use for a change, you pretty much can't go wrong. And despite how long this took to get out(in my defense, I'm taking computer science classes right now), a whole lot of the struggle was getting this video down to a manageable size. Pretty pleased it wound up under 30 minutes. Other drg test/info videos: ua-cam.com/play/PLqTo6tQ9tCOrABARyls3C94qzGo6TW3h_.html

Good luck with your CS classes! Thanks for putting out amazing DRG content as always. Just started getting lots of Warthog OCs so this video came out at the perfect time.
Please do one of these for the sludge pump, the gun is so complex yet the in game info is so lacking, besides, is one of the coolest and more unique guns in the game imo.

Fun trick with turret whip - Place your gemini turrets close together and shoot between them. Given only one pellet is needed to activate the empowered shot, you can have them both shoot, simplifying the cooldown, saving shotgun ammo, and increasing DPS.
Note that this can sometimes be overkill and end up wasting ammo. If both turrets are aiming at weaker targets that would normally die to a single whip shot, then the second one gets no value. But when dealing with higher hazards, this is pretty rare, as guards and praetorians are very common
@@rustycrowbar4250 Please, go to 1:59. If you need three warthog shots to kill a grunt, most likely that's a problem of the wielder, not the gun. I often need two mind you, my aim is not great, but one-shots are VERY much possible. Including on hazard level 5, with 3 others in the lobby.
seeing you take the time to calc armor break chance per pellet per each successive punchthrough has now allowed me to understand why you take months to make these
The shot at 27:24 is just so goddamn satisfying -- showing off the oneshot capabilities on the first two grunts and then the stun on the third, timed with the voiceover, all in one shot. That's some good editing right there.
Every time i watch one of your videos i learn that one of the mods i've been running for the past 100hrs has actually been hurting more than it's helping. i go tweak my build and find the game even more enjoyable. thanks for the great content!
I just thought of something you could do to buff the Miner Adjustments mod that doesn't step on the toes of any of the other mods. Give it spread negation when engie moves like Gunner's Deadeye mod for the Bulldog. It would encourage a run and gun engie playstyle who has already taken accuracy mods/OC's.
Turret whip ammo consumption is fixed, so if you run Gemini turrets (even if you use a single turret) you can be more ammo efficient since each turret whip consumes a lower % of your total ammo.
Wooohooo!!! More LazyMaybe content. Today is the best day. No real shocks to my system like I've had in some of your other breakdown videos, but some good info and inspiration to try and use the shotgun more. I'm one of those filthy dwarves that takes turret whip because I know it's super strong, and then only remembers during evac that he can whip his turrets. Gotta get better at that, and using warthog more often rather than the other primaries is the prescription. Thanks for this series, and know that the whole DRG community appreciates your insight and humour!
I was just talking about engineer's primaries today, and I have to say they're all decent, but Warthog is the daily bread that gets it's job done. It's just weird that most engie's secondaries are so much stronger than the primaries, usually it's the other way around.
This is, by and large, the absolute best DRG content on UA-cam. Your break-downs remind of Spirit of the Law's AoE 2 mechanics videos: thorough, comprehensive, and test how things actually function in a real game. I look forward to every single one of your uploads. You're one of like two UA-camrs I have notifications turned on for lol

I would like you to know how much I appreciate these videos, going all in depth for such detail pleases my autism very much. The effort you put into them; testing, field-testing, recording, formatting, editing, everything, it’s all worth it, especially from a guy who undoubtedly knows what he’s talking about with a soothing voice. love the videos, oh so so much, keep it up :))
I very much enjoy these vids aesthetically for your voice and how you present them visually. My obvious reason for watching is the math, experimentation, and general feeling of being taught something useful. It's a nostalgic feeling of being back in college taking a course with a teacher I enjoy who lectures on a subject I find interesting. Very well done! Given the chance, I'd gratefully watch a 2-part episode for these if you decided to break them down into a short, nitty gritty personal preference vid with a quick why you enjoy them (~5-10 min vid) followed by a much longer one with these explanations on calcs and suggestions of possible builds (based on what is best viable for Haz 5, or for fun, ect).

You actually converted me on the Gemini turrets, but you didn't even mention the increased range on the MK II. It's not a big gain, but it is something to consider. Edit: I would also like to add that your videos are the best breakdown of mechanics i have seen and i love it. You give the how and why of things, which is so useful.

Man your videos are the best. I've been trying mini shells and watching your gameplay has me ready for magnetic alignment. It's hard to tell the difference in the midst of haz 5 but seeing the videos back to back is so clear that it's just not working for me due to the two shot minimum.
Really enjoy how you went over turret whip, couldn’t find videos explaining why people enjoy using or why it’s good now I feel convinced to run it more than full auto lol
Would be awesome to see more videos like this, especially with the new season soon approaching. You have a good voice and cadence for this sort of thing, not to mention your incredibly detailed knowledge and expertise on the subject matter.
Niiiice mate, just rewatched all of your videos cause they are so good and informative and thaught the algorithm recommended me an older one but here I am watching a new video. Keep it up, I really love your videos mate 💪
Imo the biggest problem with ammo economy warthog is that engi is overloaded with excellent ammo-hungry bug killing options, which means if you make warthog have more ammo than his secondary and his turrets, you lose some ammo efficiency at the _resupply_ step of the process. If you soup up when your secondary and turrets are completely empty but warthog still has some leftover ammo, that's wasted ammo on the warthog that could've been replaced with damage mods, and that gets even worse if you're in circumstances that call for (and allow) double dipping. Ideally, you want all three of your weapons' ammo consumption to just about line up to make the most of your soup pods.
I'm a little bit surprised by the fact that you didn't mention the synergy between the Stunner OC and Turret Whip's guaranteed stun. In fact, that's the main reason why I don't take defender system on my turrets, since the extra damage on my shotgun means that it feels like (will probably have to go and run some number tests) I consume a similar amount of turret ammo killing praetorians. If anything, it's usually less, since I often only need 2 turret whip shots along with ~a little bit less than a mag of warthog ammo. I understand that's actually less ammo efficient in the long run, since defender system giving increased damage doesn't hurt those situations. Not to mention that warthog ammo is more valuable than turret ammo, generally speaking. But I still run it because of it's higher time to kill for praetorians and how defender system really limits where I can position my turrets. Although I do admit the longer range can sometimes be a deficit to my ammo econ, I usually take the ammo upgrade for turrets so that doesn't really matter. I've honestly considered running no T4 on turrets to prevent those long range turret whip situations, I end up keeping it just so I can redirect my turret away from those situations and hope my team understands why I'm pinging the random grunt on the ground for 0.5 seconds before I obliterate it with my turret whip. Although I will admit, I'll probably try out magnetic turret alignment after this video! I didn't realize that it allows you to one shot slashers! It's ability to do that as well as one shot mactera grunts along with it's accuracy allowing it to more consistently two shot spitters on the ceiling almost makes you into a mini scout. Which is funny, because I exclusively run RJ250 Compound for my Engineer secondary.
I haven’t watched the video yet but I’ve watched all the other ones in this series. I love your attention to detail, the humour mixed in and just the general style and concept. Fantastic work! I’m sure this one will be just as good as the rest.
Good stuff as usual. You always go all out with the numbers, and despite my love for all forms of mini-ammo, I do agree that minishells is hardly any different from just taking practically any other OC and taking the ammo mod. Mini shells is kind of amusing when you also go full-auto Miner Adjustments, but really, Lightweight Mags does the same thing with an amusingly fast reload speed instead of a bigger mag.
brilliant analysis, might have to give magnetic pellet alignment another shot, I always wrote it off because axis kronos said it was shit "why add accuracy? It's a shotgun!". Seriously love these breakdowns though, the probability trees cracked me up, thanks for doing the math so we don't have to
cant wait for Cryo cannon breakdown from you, I think it would be such as interesting, there so much to talk about this weapon! especially I want to hear your opinion on Ice Storm 11112 build, since almost every driller who using cryo - go Mr.Freeze build, and then actually killing bugs with secondary or othe utility the Ice Storm allows to annihilate every common bug on its own, + you basically become invulnerable from melee attacks while you holding m1 cause Cold Radiance on tier 5 don't get effected by freeze power penalty, which means you still can freeze stuff! and you have quite good ammo economy for drillers primary (of course if you not going for tier 3 increase flow rate)
Fantastic and informative video! I’ve always wanted you to do one of these for the autocannon since some of the OCs seem to have such minute differences that it comes down to preference while others completely change the gun for the better
