Thank you so much Nurse Scott. I have had a fear of needles most of my life. Your reassuring words and tone made all the difference for me. The cough really made it painless. I have had low T for a long time and was so afraid to inject myself. My Dr thinks it will make a huge difference in my overall health. He sent me a link. Until I found your video, I was not convinced I could do it. I’m truly grateful.
This helped me so much! I am needle squeamish and just started having to give myself injections. Follow your instructions to the letter, perfection. No pain, no fuss. Thank you so much for this content.
Nurse Scott you’re the GOAT of painless techniques!!! Thank you so much for this video. I had my first injection this morning and froze for a second, but turned your video on and literally followed you step by step. The “cough” technique really worked! I used a 25g 5/8 needle and felt nothing. Thanks for helping us all out because truly no one wants to stab themselves, but this process is so much easier now going forward!!!
I feel so accomplished right now! 😂 I’ve been sitting for the last almost two hours trying to psych myself up to administer the shot. I used no less than five alcohol swabs because I kept thinking it was no longer clean from waiting so long and repeatedly touching the skin to stretch it and not following through. I told myself I would reward myself with a new pair of boots I looked at yesterday and did it almost immediately. There was absolutely no pain and from now on I will be able to do it without hesitation! 💉
Thank you for being so kind to people who have to self inject! You would think working in the medical field would make it easier to self inject, but because I have such time muscle mass is difficult for me to stretch the skin at all. This was so sweet and kind.
I watched your video, I followed all instructions, unbelievable I felt 0 pain, the cough part is just magical. Thank you so kindly. As a matter of fact, we share the same name.
Oh you’re a GOD SEND. It was slightly painful tbh, but the sheer relief of getting past the jab part made the little bit of pain tolerable. You’re a very calming presence, appreciate you!

Thank you so much for showing us how to inject properly! I was given B12 to take home over a year ago and never taught how to do it correctly. I just injected in my thigh and absolutely no pain and quick. I was tired of my arm being so sore! Appreciate you taking the time! ❤
My wife is starting HRT and asked me to do her IM injections for her. I hope this helps make it easy for her to take her medication without pain! Thank you!
Thank you for your video. Started TRT a couple weeks ago and would sit for almost 30 mins hyping myself up. Didn't use to fear needles, but going through chemo for 4 tears and a stem cell transplant and have had hundreds of needles in me and pretty much developed PTSD from it all. Doing the cough and dart method has certainly helped.
I'm about to start TRT. My test came back at 235 and I'm 53 years old. Man, when I saw that first needle I said Oh hell no! I didn't realize it was just for getting the fluid out of the vial. LOL EDIT: I just did my first injection. I will admit I was a little nervous, but I really didn't feel a thing! Thank you very much for sharing this information, Nurse Scott!
Better than mine, 109 at 45 y/o (early morning lab) yikes! I'm a biological cis man, just testosterone issues since early 30's, but never this low! It has fluctuated, but no insurance for a long while. I used to use topical TRT (androgel. axiron) but my insurance won't cover those, so it'll probably have to be injections when I see the specialist (urologist.) IDK what to expect, not bothered about the shot, but topicals mimic natural levels throughout the day (declines as the day goes.) So here I am, trying to learn how to do it. Thankfully not different as b-12 (except thicker) but haven't used those in a long time, so needed a refreshment crash course, so that's why I'm here. Best of luck to both of us.

Dude! You have no idea how much I appreciate this video. I was so PSYCHING myself out. This helped tremendously. It honestly didn't hurt at all and I'm sure I'll still have to get used to it, but this was phenomenal to get through the first one.
For 7 years I’ve done subq shots, which started to hurt more and more for some reason and turn me off from doing my shots consistently altogether. Did my first IM tonight with this video and now I feel the excitement from getting my T dose again. Thank you
"For 7 years I’ve done subq shots, which started to hurt more and more for some reason and turn me off from doing my shots consistently altogether" Me too, I have the exact same problem, Ive been doing it for years and for some reason the last 3 were incredibly painful and even caused my quad to spasm. Im trying to get the nerve to try it again because Im late on my injection again because of it.
@@independenttntn3276 I figured out (I think) that it was due to my low body fat percentage. I weigh under 120lb, and was not able to grab much fat for my subq shots, so it hurt. And when I did IM with 1in needle, even that was too long and was making me hit bone or something. So I’ve been doing my IM shots in thigh with a shorter, 25g x 5/8 needle (what I used before for the subq) and I have almost zero pain now. You can also try to ice the area a bit before injecting so it’s numb. And don’t tense up, that might trigger the involuntary muscle spasms. It’s happened to me twice. Very bizarre feeling.
Thanks again Scott. You have really helped me out. I used to be an EMT, but my self-injections were pretty uncomfortable until I followed your instructions. Now it's all good!
Thank you Nurse Scott. Just did my first injection. I'm not squeamish, but wasn't too sure about injecting myself. Your tutorial gave me the confidence to just do it. Painless and easy, just like you promised. Many thanks!
Thanks Scott. I’ve been on gels for awhile and wanted to go to injections because every two weeks or gels every day just made sense but I wasn’t sure I could do it myself. I have no problem with getting shots or giving blood but for me injecting yourself is a mind game. You don’t get a lot of information from the doctor in details like you give here. I’m so glad I found your video before I attempted this myself. I can say this was absolutely painless. The coughing technique is an absolute blessing. Thanks so much!!! Anyone wanting to change from gels to injections just follow what Scott says you’ll be glad you did!!!!

I've been on HRT for almost a year and I've been stretching the skin, but doing it SOOOOO slowly because I'm scared to mess it up, but this explains why it still hurts after so much practice! Ill definitely be saving this for when I do my next injection :)
I just did it! I was putting this off for months. The anticipation of doing it and the thought of the needle going in was the worst. No joke, I had to pump myself up mentally to do it. (My inner Goggins was calling me out.) But once I did it exactly like the instructions with the skin stretching and coughing, zero pain, zero blood. Thank you!
Thank you!! Just did my first shot of test. 1 inch needle, didn't feel a thing 😂 I was sweating beads with an svated heart for 2 minutes before i made the plunge. For a while my brother would do them but he just moved to start medical school, and my wife gets really nervous doing it herself. This was the first time I’ve been able to do it without causing bleeding, discomfort, and soreness. I feel much more confident moving forward so thank you very much!
Oh my goodness this was amazing!!! I was so nervous but it worked so well! My 3 year old came and stood by me just as I was about to do it and the only comment she had was "cough into your sleeve ok?" When I did the jab and cough 😄
Wanted to add my thanks!!! Days 1-4 of injections were terrible and stressful. Day 5 we added the stretched skin and the cough and I was informed she didn't feel it at all. Thank you so much!
2 months ago I switched to 2x week split dosage with a 29 gauge 1/2" insulin needle. Wow! What a difference in comfort. Fast, easy, and painless. No hesitation as before and no need for the cough technique. Something to consider, guys.
Do a little research and find out how totally screwed up your body and brain become when you are clinically low on your b-vitamins. I think it is great you are taking your shots. I am sure you will feel an immediate improvement in your overall well being with the proper amount of b vitamins in your system. I watched a video of a woman who said she could not absorb b vitamins through a pill, so she got a liquid concentrate form and you just put a dropper's worth full, under your tongue and for her that did the trick. That's what I do for my b-complex vitamins. I'm diabetic and I think my blood pressure pills and diabetes pills screw up my levels of b vitamins in my system. So I take the concentrated version under my tongue. There are great videos out there that discuss what levels you need and how you need to either inject b vitamins is you are low, or mix the b vitamins with your saliva to get it to absorb into your system. Check them out !
thanks for the video just gave my first shot 10 min ago, didnt think i would have a issue but holding that syringe looking at the needle i was wrong. I did you stretch / cough and jabbed didnt feel a thing was just all in my head. Thanks as my doctor and phamcist gave no directions and my instructions with the medication said follow doctors orders...
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I was never taught how to inject properly so I have been struggling through it for months. As terrifying as this was, it was 100% painless! I am so happy this randomly came across my feed.
Thank you so much for this. Also, a tip for folks who have trouble psyching themselves up for the stab, i found it was Really helpful to play music while setting everything up and then counting along to the beat, getting the rhythm in your head and moving the needle on the fourth beat. I recognize that this might not work for everyone but it helped me at least.
You're everybody's hero today. Im very sensitive to pain, so even the painless jab was still quite uncomfortable, but I DID it. First ever T dosage, and all on my own. Thanks a million, gonna rewatch this video every week until I no longer need it lol
Amazing, thanks for this super helpful tutorial. Just self-injected for the first time and it was a breeze by following your instructions. No fear or stress, just "did it". Didn't even feel the needle.
Injecting in a hot shower helps big time imo. Oil thins out, muscle is more relaxed, and the skin is a bit "softer". Expanding the skin on the injection site in the shower is also a huge benefit. You can also use a half inch 100 IU insulin needle in you deltoid, thighs, chest, calves, ect.... You just need to back fill it with a larger need to draw up the oil.
You didn't inject it intramuscularly though, did you? B12 should almost always be used through an s.c. injection. Most B12-Solutions can be used through IV, IM and SC injection but unless there is already an intravenous catheter attached or you have some tissue illness that doesn't allow for s.c.-injection, you should ALWAYS go for the subcutaneous injection as it is by far the one with the least amount of risk. I.M and I.V always come with a comparably high risk. Even though we have a pretty good understanding of the general location of veins; it still happens pretty often that a simple IM injection paralyzes a person for life, because a significant nerve was accidentally hit and cut. I.M. should only be used over S.C. if the medication is specifically only allowed for S.C. (like most insulins or heparin and enoxaparin for example) it needs to be absorbed rapidly and an IV would take too long to administer due to bad veins. Classic examples would be Morphin and Midazolam in emergency situations.
@@creativeself7147 yes, B12 is prescribed and administered IM. I highly doubt it happens “pretty often” that IM injections paralyze a person for life. Don’t fear monger.

Just gave myself my first test shot using this video as I did it. Worked like a charm. 36 years old and ready to get back to life in a big way!!!
First time no pain in six years!!! 😊 Wow, the cough made all the difference. Best how-to video on UA-cam. You are blessed
I’m a retired nurse and I feared getting shots. I need to administer my own b-12 shots 2x monthly, and I tried your method and wow it worked😊! Thanks
Definitely watching this video
I’m an RN and clinical facilitator for nursing students. This is such a great video for helping folks who are scared of giving or receiving injections, and I love how inclusive it is for anyone who might need to self-administer IMs. Thanks!

You weren't at all concerned over the contaminated injection site from his fingers and shorts, and aspirating the needle which is no longer recommended? I'm in nursing school now and almost everything he did goes against what we are being taught.
@@dgjax99hey I am not scared of injecting needle just scared of hitting a nerve or veins please give suggestions. I want to do IM but even 1 inch needle can’t reach my glutes muscles. I am skinny fat my delts have pretty small muscle can’t inject there. Remains quads but i am heard they have lot of nerves have tried 1 2 shots but little sharp pain so I didn’t do my shots. Any recommendations subq give me large bumps which stays for weeks
@@dgjax99 😂 smh
OMG! When I say I was FREAKING OUT just THINKING about giving myself this shot I am not kidding! I put it off for a week! Then decided to check out some videos and see what I could come up with. THANK GOD I found this site! I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH! I watched it twice then did each step along with Nurse Scott including the cough-barely felt a thing! EASY, EASY, EASY! You're probably freaking out too if you've watched the video...I'm telling you-no need to freak out! Just do it! You'll be glad you did! THANKS AGAIN!!!!
Thanks, Scott. Every time I have to inject myself I let the video play in the background. 40+ injections and little to no pain so far. Thank you alot. :)
ok, I've been injecting a 25G needle with 1.5ml of fat burner and B12-super thick and long needle. I hate giving myself injections every week, and it ALWAYS leaves a big bump and it's sore for a few days after. This technique was super easy! I honestly still don't believe how painless it was . THANK YOU! I didn't do the cough, couldn't get myself to incorporate it...but it was so good! thx again :-)
My first injection was absolutely painless! I used a larger "Green" needle. The coughing trick was spot on THANK YOU!
just gave myself HRT shot for the first time - It was painless!!!! thanks so much for the video! ( like many I had fear but your technique worked like a charm, stretch, cough and dart.. perfect! I laughed because I thought hey,,, where is the pain??) NONE!
I had a really bad experience injecting the last time. I have to tell you, this was the BEST video to watch!! This time it was painless and 1000% times better! Thank you so so much!!
Marvelous! Thank you so much. I've been giving myself injections for ten years and procrastinate every shot but this was flawless. No pain, no dread and I'll be damned that cough works. Thanks again!
I’ve been giving myself T-shots for over a year but was never that fond of the process until I tried your technique. It really worked. Totally painless!!! Jab and cough…that’s my new method from now on. Thanks!
I’m new at this. My doc is giving me TRT treatment and I never knew u can even take it this way. Omg. It’s amazing
This video is super helpful! I'm 1 year and 6 months on T and I'm still getting over the anxiety of sticking the needle. I'm used to doing them on the stomach area, but this video helped me get a very sweet and easy shot today on my thigh. Thank you so much, Nurse Scott!!
Wow!!!!! Zero pain. Zerooooo, i get major anxiety every time. Im 15 months into this. Thank you!
Never imagined I’d be able to do my own TRT injections but I can now thanks to this video. The cough is a game changer! Thank you!
Thank you so much!! I've been injecting for 15 years or more. I did the thigh a few years ago but got nervous and went back to my shoulders!! This worked so well!!
LOL
EDIT: I just did my first injection. I will admit I was a little nervous, but I really didn't feel a thing! Thank you very much for sharing this information, Nurse Scott!
😂 I tripped out when I seen that needle when I started trt 2 years ago
LOL@@demingusming456
Better than mine, 109 at 45 y/o (early morning lab) yikes! I'm a biological cis man, just testosterone issues since early 30's, but never this low! It has fluctuated, but no insurance for a long while. I used to use topical TRT (androgel. axiron) but my insurance won't cover those, so it'll probably have to be injections when I see the specialist (urologist.)
IDK what to expect, not bothered about the shot, but topicals mimic natural levels throughout the day (declines as the day goes.) So here I am, trying to learn how to do it. Thankfully not different as b-12 (except thicker) but haven't used those in a long time, so needed a refreshment crash course, so that's why I'm here. Best of luck to both of us.
mine came back 179 and im 31 year old man :/ thankful for trt tho
@@trappabishhI’m 19 and mine came out at 267 total :/. I got retested after around 2 months of clean dieting, exercise, and sleep and it only went up to 300 ng/dl.
My friends are all above 600
Thanks bro. I’ve been injecting for about a year and I would go slow with the needle and I just hated it. That was perfect what you just explained no worries now no pain. Great video.
My 57 year old son has muscular dystrophy and is just starting the two week injections. Due to him not having good control of his hand muscles I am going to do this for him. my 1st attempted injection is on Christmas Day. In the beginning I was thinking I am too scared and old but watching your video is giving me confidence. Wish me luck.
Never gave myself an injection. Your explanation and technique were spot on. Thank you
First injection down! Zero pain!! You freakin rock! My hands were literally trembling 😅 it was like there was no needle on the syringe!
Thanks I have always jabbed in my butt and scared of hitting a nerve in my leg but this technique is a game changer. I did everything you said. Wow that cough and stretch is so good I will pass that on. Thank you so much zero pain and zero blood. 😊
Oh my heavens! I was freaking out and I am a whole RN trying to give myself an IM injection. Like I didn't even feel it. You know what, no more finding another nurse to give my patients IM injections. Doing them myself. You da very best Nurse Scott!!!!!
i just gave myself an estrogen injection and it did not hurt at all!!!! you are kind and also a genius. amazing!!!
I know you posted this over a year ago, but I just experienced the first painless injection in my life following your tips AND on top of that learned that I was doing everything wrong minus the location. a few of my friends have also gotten some good use out of this video too :)
thank you so much for making this!
also the cough tip is absolutely phenomenal
Thank you
What have you been injecting if may ask?
@@a.k2156T = testosterone
"For 7 years I’ve done subq shots, which started to hurt more and more for some reason and turn me off from doing my shots consistently altogether" Me too, I have the exact same problem, Ive been doing it for years and for some reason the last 3 were incredibly painful and even caused my quad to spasm. Im trying to get the nerve to try it again because Im late on my injection again because of it.
@@a.k2156 0.5mL T cypionate weekly
Thanks Nurse Scott, just gave myself my weekly estradiol dose, the stretching and the coughing really helps ❤🙏🏽
I've been giving myself intramuscular injections once a week for 4 years and this technique has helped me more than any other I've ever tried. Thank you so much!! I don't have to force my wife to give me my shots anymore and I swear it's easy and doesn't hurt. THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!
Wow i can't believe i had zero pain with the coughing! I am terrified of needles and this helped alot thanks man 🙏🏻 btw if you have anxiety like i do...i did a few "practice" runs with the motions (no needle or medicine) and it helped calm me down
Thank you so so so much!!! I've been doing injections for months, but I was feeling so anxious today and this REALLY helped me through it!!! And now I have great techniques for the future!! 100% will be back, you made me feel so calm. Thank you!!!
The cough tip is everything!
I did this real time with you. I was like he’s already ready to inject, and it’s a dart?! LOL the cough is a game changer!! Didn’t hurt at all. Thank you so much!
I've been on HRT for almost a year and I've been stretching the skin, but doing it SOOOOO slowly because I'm scared to mess it up, but this explains why it still hurts after so much practice!
Ill definitely be saving this for when I do my next injection :)
Big thanks from me too. I still have a huge bruise a week after i did it on my own. With your method, no pain, no bruise.
1:26 I was recommended this video right here by trans folk on Reddit!
Thank you!
Excellent video mate! Everyone has told me how bad IM is and I’m new to doing injections. Literally zero pain! Thank you

Just done my first self administered injection. Followed your tips and no pain. Was nervous over doing it but it worked. Thank you
Great help. I was doing it wrong. It hurt for days. That was painless. Thank you so much
You are brilliant!!!! Thank you so much. Following your instructions, I was able to do this for the first time without pain.
Thank you!!
Just did my first shot of test.
1 inch needle, didn't feel a thing 😂
I was sweating beads with an svated heart for 2 minutes before i made the plunge.
Had to look down as it felt like i had missed with the needle!
Absolutely no pain whatsoever !
I used a 27g needle as only doing a
.25 injection every 3.5 days
Thank you. I have Klinefelters syndrome and have to take a weekly injection.
Thank you so much! I’ve been doing my T shots on my own every week for the past year and I hate it. Today, was painless! You’re a God send
Thank you Nurse Scott! Just did my first intramuscular self injection and didn't feel it at all!

Super super grateful that you made this video. I'm taking IM injections for FET and proud to say I have not felt a thing. Thank you thank you!
OMG..THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!! The cough technique is awesome..literally did feel a thing and I am a huge wimp!! First B-12 shot in the books!!
I followed your instructions and didn't feel a thing!
Thank you.
Thanks! I've been on testosterone for a while and recently had a block in being able to do this myself. This was a super helpful demonstration.
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I was never taught how to inject properly so I have been struggling through it for months. As terrifying as this was, it was 100% painless! I am so happy this randomly came across my feed.
I finally did it, can't believe! Coughing is key haha, zero pain!!! For an instant I thought I wasn't gonna make it but I did it, thank you again!
You just need to back fill it with a larger need to draw up the oil.
thanks for the air bubble comment, I was so afraid of getting it wrong and insta dying from an air bubble lol😅
Thank you! I just gave myself a b12 shot. I can’t believe I was so hesitant. I’m a phlebotomist. Just human nature, like you said. Great video.
Is your b12 red/pink? Mine is and I can’t ever confirm if there is blood or not. Lol.
Thank you for this video! I just gave myself my first shot and your video made it so easy! It didn't hurt!
Now I can get my b12 on time every time. You're a lifesaver.
Damn that was easy! Just completed my first injection and used this method. Thank you so much!!
Thank you brother!! I used to have no issues giving myself injections and then I started making the mistake of going to slow and then muscle spasm and then started to build up a fear of it. I literally coughed and did exactly what you did and man the fear is gone!! Thank you again. You should honestly show glute and shoulder hits if possible. Just so people are aware from a professional!! Thanks!!!
I have tried like 6 times to just jam that bastard needle in there, but I am having crazy anxiety when I have the needle loaded up and ready to go. I literally have tattoos all over my body, and have never had issue with injections until now, when I need to administer them to myself. This shit is a wild ride. Thanks for this video, I am sure I will be back to it over and over once I finally get past this mental block.
You will. The more positive experiences you have, the easier it gets. That first one is a leap of faith, though. Good luck.
