Spent my entire 40s feeling like I was under water despite forcing myself to work out, eat right, etc. Tried treatments for depression and ADHD since my symptoms mimicked those issues, but only got side effects. Finally, got TRT and it is life changing. Was always an athlete who thought it was an illegal drug, wish I woulda started ten years ago wouldn’t have lost a decade to misery. I don’t think you can judge people without knowing their story. I’ve literally gone from hating life and barely surviving to thriving and driving. And my biceps look pretty good too.
So you're talking about these clinics that I really don't know what they're doing.. Where do you suggest we go what?Type of doctor do we see..I'm 53.. I work out try to live A healthy lifestyle but dam i'm still tired.. any input Would be helpful

Two things stand out. Derek is super knowledgeable for someone who’s not an MD, and Peter is super humble for being a practicing MD with what appears to be a true quest for knowledge from someone who has useful info to share.
Despite public perception MDs are particularly knowledgeable about their specialty, not everything health related or will often talk like the know something like TRT when they may have just looked up the guidelines before you talked to them in their office
I was 33 when I got tested and my levels where the same as a 83 year old man. I couldn't play sports or get it up. I was fat. Now I do 1cc a week for last 3 years and I play 5 hockey games a week and gym 4 days a week, dropped 50 pounds, and play with girls 3 days a week. I feel unreal. Thx trt
@@jackkollman9683 Proper hormonal function is as important to mental and physical well being as insulin is to controlling blood sugar. What you are saying is equivalent to saying "just power through your diabetes, no need to take insulin." Take a few weeks and get some basic education in how hormones work before posting such things.
I do a daily 0.08 cc injection subcutaneously into the fat, I’m 167 pounds 14% body fat 36 years old my testosterone levels were 200 in the afternoon prior to starting now I said around 600. No longer have depression or anxiety, and now exercise for an hour and a half a day six days a week and I’ve been doing this for 2 1/2 years. I didn’t have the energy to play with my own children after work I didn’t have the energy to do anything around the house. I didn’t have the energy to be a man, flat out and simple this change my life for the better.
This is true and great and glad you’re getting your body restored and balanced. However, no need to inject daily. The 2 long esters-text cyp and test E, are 19 day and 21 day esters. 3 day high. It’s done twice a week-not every day. And IM injection is the proper way.
@@miamilifeandfitness false daily better mimics the natural production release produces acne and long-term issues. My levels are stable and sit at a more consistent range without the roller coaster of doing weekly, or twice a week. When you use those injection methods, you’re riding the massive testosterone load for the first day and then declining all the way until your next injection day. No need to do that. No need to do into muscular. MIT study proves that subcutaneous can uptake testosterone and 85% effective rate compared to into muscular.
@@notme9798 what size of needs do you use? And where are you injecting. I want to switch to subQ and I’m thinking 25g 1/2” and doing in belly fat. I’ve done insulin needles with peptides in that area but don’t think that size will be good for thickness of test.
I've been on TRT for about 8mon now and I can say at least for me it's changed my life. So many physical and emotional issues that this has changed. I want to say it's helped. Plus changing my whole life style. Diet and exercise. I was 285. Now I'm 235. I feel amazing. Get blood work and see what you can get started
Glad to hear that. I’m overweight and all I keep hearing is TRT is just gonna make you bloat and be even fatter you need to get fit before T. But i don’t have any damn energy after work cause low T…
@@miguelcisneros5654 my doctor automatically told me trt will make you feel 25 again. I was very skeptical of what I've researched and for me my biggest concern was my hair. I know it sounds crazy but I decided hair or my health. So I went with it. Best decision i made. Find a doctor that specializes in it. Get blood work done. Everything you said i had the same issue. Work all day and too lazy to do anything now..10 or 12 hr shift is nothing. After that i workout eat and it's changed my life. It doesn't bloat you or anything like that. Only thing I've noticed is extra body hair i never had before but that's it. Go for it. Hope to hear from you if you decide to.
@@Leo6933 honestly i dont know because I couldn't loose the weight. It's difficult to explain. Like I was in a daze i was at a point where I was lazy didn't want to do anything. Always tired. I didn't even want to go outside with my kids and play. Go on vacations I literally would go to work and then home. Lay around all day and do absolutely nothing. So to answer your question I feel like since i first started taking trt. It's like my eyes were open. Wide open. Everything was clear. I was focused. I was excited I was motivated. It was amazing. My back knees none of that bothers me anymore. It's pretty remarkable.
@@DanielFlores-ru4ij Well I’m happy your doing better. For me when I took it I realized I didn’t really need it after I got my nutrition and exercise regimen on point.
A book that changed my life in ways that I never could imagine is "Secret Testosterone Nexus of Evolution".Drop whatever you're doing right now and go find that book. Trust me after I implemented things from the book my testosterone levels went beast mode
Started TRT at 59, 3 years ago, and it has really helped. I have worked HARD in the gym and take just enough to keep me st normal levels. I still have a way to go but my body and energy level has changed dramatically. I look forward to exercising daily rather than feeling like a tired slug.
What was your T prior to start TRT? I am 60 with 601 level and on the fence about starting TRT. Sleep well but some bedroom issues and mid-section looseness is an issue. Push pull legs w/out one cycle/week.
@@deca10 Every year during my physical the level kept going down....finally when it hit 300 and my Doc would not get me started, I switched doctors. Very happy with the results. At 601....not sure...that is not really low....

I've been on HRT since 2018 for PGF started at 1 ml per week switched to twice a week at half dose. My first year I switched to subq from IM and the twice a week schedule with life changing results. Age 45- 6 years in - I've switched back to once a week injections and found no adverse effects. I did think that it would help me be more muscular but primarily the differences I'm experiencing are lower fatigue, lower joint pain, better function, improved mood. I cant imagine going back to the way I felt at 39.
@sandeephunjan some people have other issues leading to hypogonadism. At 29yr old my total testosterone was 42. Trt changed and possibly saved my life.
@coachjsu I felt better my first few years with 2 shots per week. 6 months ago I switched to weekly shots and feel no difference. I still feel great. My doc said that with longer term HRT that my body would more efficiently use the T
I’m 49 and trt was night and day difference in mental clarity energy level mood stability and sex drive through the roof. I cycle off every few months and it’s not hard for me. But when I restart I’m back to feeling as if I’m in my 20’s. I will not be stopping ever.
I'm 41 and I've been on TRT for about 9 months. For the first 6 months I couldn't get above around 500 nanograms per deciliter, they kept cranking up the dose. I started doing a split dose of twice a week and now I'm over 900. Only side effects have been acne which is not terrible on my back, but weirdly I got pretty severe acne between my pecs, and it's very stubborn stuff that won't go away. I've had it for like 3 months now. It is weird being my age and waking up with morning wood every day, but I'm not complaining. I honestly haven't noticed much of a difference in terms of gym performance and muscle growth, but the biggest thing for me is that it works as like an anti-depressant. I am always in a good mood now.
I got acne too but I found a couple secret weapons. The first is Niacinamide. I take 250 mg twice per day. What this does is regulate your oil levels. And the other thing is just plain old Dial antibacterial soap. Your body is creating too much oil, which creates an environment for rapid bacteria growth. I’ve cut my acne in half, if not more, by using these two things.
I started TRT at 51 doing weekly injections of Cypionate through a local clinic. Great results. Within the last year I switched to pellets. A bit more expensive but extremely convenient, especially as a frequent traveler. Plus no highs and lows. Overall I think it’s worth the extra expense.
@@keiththomson9628 Gotta respectfully disagree. The pellets last between 5-6 months, depending on activity level. I’ve done labs at various points during each stretch and every time the numbers are spot on. The T leeches out at a constant rate that even a shot per day can’t match. The trick is in the initial dosing. The proper number of pellets need to be inserted. If that’s done correctly you are locked and loaded for the duration. No thoughts or worries for 1/2 a year. I won’t be going back to injections.
Steroids has a lot of benefits, particularly for muscle recovery and strength. Personally, as an athlete I use anabolic steroids to speed up recovery from intense training or injuries. They also really help in rebuilding muscle tissue and enhancing performance.
Test Enan is commonly used in hormone replacement therapy to address low testosterone levels, promoting muscle growth and improving overall well-being. Tren, on the other hand, greatly enhances muscle size and strength. Speeds up recovery from injuries as well.
Totally agree. Steroids helped me recover faster and maintain muscle mass, especially during intense training or after injury. It's amazing how they can support bone health as well, which is crucial for people with conditions like osteoporosis.
There’s no doubt to the benefits of steroids. Honestly, it has greatly impacted my life. It played a major role in achieving my desired physique. People should learn not to abuse these substances and act like they are all bad.
Hey everyone, I’m looking for reliable sources for both steroids and protein supplements. I know it’s crucial to be cautious with these, especially with steroids, so I want to make sure I’m getting them from trustworthy sources. For protein supplements, I’m also interested in recommendations for reputable brands. Any suggestions or advice on where to find safe and high quality options?
I've been using TRT for a year now. My levels were at 200. I'm over 40 years old and work out almost six times per week. I started working virtually, and by the end of the day, I was done, sore, lethargic, etc. After three months on it, my level shot up to over 2000 using 100 ml per week. I lowered it to 25 ml per week, drew blood again, and it dropped to 900. So, I've been using 25 ml per week. I feel it mostly in my daily lifestyle, work, workout, recovery, etc. I also eat lots of protein, fat, and few carbs. I haven't seen any gains in my strength on any of my lifts, but that's okay-that's not the purpose of this TRT.
I'm really hoping you're mixing up your terminology here. People are generally prescribed .5-1ml of test c/wk in the US. You aren't using anywhere from 50-100 times the common dosing. Maybe you meant to say mg per week. But even then your numbers would be considered absolutely off the charts for those doses.
@@donmerrigan2362 Yes, each bottle is 100 mg, so I'm breaking it into 4 shots. I'm taking 0.25 ml per week; that's what I meant. Apologies for the confusion.
I’m one of the OG’s. I have been on TRT for. 16 years. I started when I was 32. I’m 48 years old now. I would probably make an interesting case study. My has always been 200 mg per week split into two doses self administered. I think it’s had a pretty dramatic positive impact on my overall health in that my calcium score is still zero and my cholesterol has always been high I do not take drugs. In fact, I refuse to. my triglycerides are also high yet. I had my first calcium test five years ago and it was zero then and it is still zero now. 200 mg of testosterone for me puts me around 750. And it will put my free testosterone around 50. Over the years I have gone on and off for as long as six months because quite honestly, I just gets tired of sticking a needle in myself
@@marken816 not 100% sure tbh. In the beginning, it was quite the delicate balance finding the right dosage along with the right amount of anti-estrogen. It took about a year to get everything correct. My calcium score is zero and I’ve had it tested twice in the last five years so clearly there’s been no ill results from not taking statins in my case. Only other real side effects are a little bit of water retention, and overall body hair growth and I don’t know if that’s because of the testosterone or just getting old.
35 yr old male. 5' 2" inches 146 lbs. 100mg/0.5ml a week. Peak was 926 total, 194 free. Estradiol on a peak was 31. Trough 6.5 days later, 540 total and 101 free. I'm super happy with these numbers. Pin every Friday like it's my birthday!! 🎉🎂 Only thing is my ferritin bottomed out, like bottom-bottom, bottomed out. 4 ferritin, 40 iron. Iron binding capacity is slightly over 100% 428/425. Im on an every other day iron, lactoferrin and copper regimine and to try and get these numbers higher. Just started this. September 9th is my next ferritin and iron check. As far as the test levels are concerned, they are $$$ at 100 mg a week. Definitely don't need to go higher, but to focus on my iron and ferritin.
Your free T even at peak is kinda low imo. Hell even at trough most guys feel their best if it’s above 200. You may feel good now because of how bad you felt with low T but I don’t believe you are fully optimized. Optimized free t would be between 200 and 300 regardless of peak or trough.
@@Kstephens07 I was on 200mg every 10 days before this. Had a total of 1250, free of 255, estradiol of 48 and that I beleive was on a trough lmao. This 100mg a week is working out perfect for me. I dont wanna be in enhanced ranges, just higher than what I was, which clearly I am. I was at a total of 227 with a free of 34 before starting all this. My bodys androgen receptors work very well.
@@BiHuSrcu one year ago actually, so my body has most likely stopped making it's own. These levels I obtain on peaks and troughs should be the ones I obtain for life at this dosage. Only thing I need to do is get my iron and ferritin up and my labs will be *chefs kiss*. Not only that but this was 3 days after injection, which could be SLIGHTLY lower than an actual peak. Usual peak via IM test cyp happens after 10 hours up to 2 days so... We can probably assume, but can't prove I'm right at 1000 ng/dc total and slightly above 200 free and im 110% happy with that. Anything above that and I'll be pushing into enhanced ranges and that's not what trt is for. That's called testosterone sports therapy or testosterone enhanced therapy in the realm of going above normal high levels. My energy levels are already through the roof and (SOMEHOW) I'm suppose to feel even more like super man when I get my ferritin and iron up.
Honestly peak 926 sounds optimal to me, i like how they said that injecting twice a week at least might help decrease those super abnormal peaks…what made you get on trt?
I'm 48 and was hypogonadal. Now I'm at 586ng/DL. This book goes into real detail and gives insight to things others don't mention. Complete Guide to Testosterone by James Francis.
In Sweden, if (IF) you make it past the narrowsighted doctors that stares blindly at the reference range with complete disregard for symptoms, the only injectable option for trt is 1 gram every 8-12 weeks (6 weeks first injection). NO hcg under any circumstances.
That’s straight up dangerous. With that amount in a bolus injection, there’s definitely going to be aromatization and all the side effects that come from that, e.g., gynecomastia, which would require tamoxifen or similar. Tell that doctor to take some endocrinology courses and report back lol.
I started out with 300mg cypionate. I went to 200mg every 2 weeks and still had hypogonadal symptoms. Then went to 150mg every week. My test runs at 600 ng/dl and am doing great.
I just recently got my 1st test bottle of 300mg, the pharmacist said to take one injection every three weeks and that the bottle should last for ten different injections. How do I start this out right?
@@fifthchild8265 You want to take at least once a week, preferably more. Waiting two or three weeks in between injections is NOT the way to go. Smaller more frequent doses have the best outcomes as it keeps your T levels steady and avoids the high peaks and troughs.
@@fifthchild8265 An injection every 3 weeks is a horrible idea. The half life is way too short for that kind of spacing. So assuming it is 300mg/mL in a 10mL bottle You want ~100mg a week, which I would spilt into two injections. So 50mg twice a week. 50mg is 1/6mL so 0.16mL on a 1mL syringe twice a week.
I’m 56, 6’1” and 230lbs at water tank tested 8% bodyfat. I have a natural testosterone level of almost 800. I also travel 75% for work and head on the family. I train at 4am on the morning to get in my workout before work and family obligations and eat healthy even when traveling (grocery stores instead of restaurants etc.). I don’t care what anyone says it absolutely your lifestyle that affects your testosterone levels so if they are low then change the poor choices you are making. These TRT clinics give it to anyone and it will screw you up.
Same. I stopped exercising and was earing shitt. For years. Got my t tested and it was 180. I was told my testosterone woukd never go much higher naturally. I started eating well and lifting daily. Now I'm at 750 and feel better than when I was 20. 25 years ago. Do the work.
@@whatthefunction9140 Thank you. I have no idea whatmine is but I lift hard but at 64 the results are less than inspiring. I’m tempted but probably wont make the jump.
I was absolutely ripped and run a half marathon weekly zone 2, two fast interval runs a week, lift 3x full body heavy per week, macro nutrient compliant with a coach. I dropped a ton of muscle and strength and my vo2 plummeted. I had no idea what was going on, super sick 24/7. A doc finally diagnosed me with systemic mastocytosis and eosinophillic leukemia. I started taking targeted chemotherapy and my blood work for anemia and a lot of other messed up stuff normalized but I still felt like crap and couldn’t get my strength back. My bench had plummeted from working sets at 225 lbs to 135 in 6 months. I had my T tested and total T was 180. I’m at 500 now and am finally symptom free at 50 years old two years later. My work ethic has been far above most I know as I served in special operations until 24 years old and never ever stopped taking care of fitness. Some people DO have real medical issues and your own testimony doesn’t negate others experience. Yes there’s shady clinics out there.
That's genetics, I was foing everything alright and my test was still low at 28, needed trt, before hopping on I tried 2-3 years to fix it , no success, you can't extrapolate your story to others as there are many factors such as genetics. In your case you seem to have good genetics for high t, but your life style led you to low t. In my case I had low T even doing everything allrigjt, sleep training, nutrition, low body fat...
I’m 68 I’m on it. I had levels around 400 but I didn’t have explosive power in the gym anymore. I got on trt but I needed boron to help free test up. If you love hitting the weights, you want to hold on to your muscles, you want to train for and perform better in your chosen sport then I say go. I love training.
I think you're in the wrong community. 60 year olds here with 700 test admit to taking trt. Go to one of the actors that gain 40 pounds of muscle in 4 months and post this
I started TRT at 37 (45 now) My total T was in the 200s but I was fat and unhealthy. I might have jumped the gun yes I admit. Thankfuly I did it after having children. I have to say that I feel very strong in the gym and I don't lose muscles easily with lower body fat. I actually look better than when I was in my 20s and training. I take my shots every other day and no side effects ( I have high BP but that's genetic and controlled now). To me, I have no regrets what so ever. One serious negative is that libido is very high. It's not always fun when you have to work.
A good friend of mine living in Colorado has had a hematocrit over 50 for over 20 years and says its common where they live and pregnant women have to leave from the higher altitudes and even as a child is still growing until they become much older but its zero health problems for adults and many live a healthy long life and take the hematocrit fear over 50 with a grain of salt.
One thing I did hear you discuss was how supplemental testosterone can restore estrogen in the male to levels that help slow down osteoporosis. It is estrogen not testosterone that directly inhibits bone breakdown and promotes bone formation. There are animal studies where instead of testosterone they give DHT, the primary sex androgen in men. This results in lower estrogen than pre-DHT and results in greater bone loss.
I'm 39. Taking sustanon 250 1ml every 10 days. The primary goal was to treat low energy and low libido. Earlier I was living a really active lifestyle and this has helped me to return to this, and it has increased my concentration on work. I have not have any serious side effects. I was against steroids when I was was younger, but for older guys like me I think it is nice the option is there.
That's because when you were younger and naive and didn't realize steroids were a medicine before people started using it solely for cosmetic reasons. Most of American (including doctors) are still clueless.
I don't like when two experts talk to each other about this. It's like they don't consider the audience's relative knowledge. I do like when Derek talks about it to his own audience on his channel because he understands how to word or phrase information so that the average gym goer can understand.
So for example they were talking about FSH and LH being low versus the testicles just not working. So your body puts out a signal called FSH and LH and that tells your testicles to make testosterone. Sometimes your body is putting the signal out good but the testicles aren’t working. In that case they were saying it’s best to just get on exogenous testosterone. But if your testicles work fine but you’re just not putting off the FSH and LH signals for them to make it then sometimes it’s better to figure out why those signals are low. It could be diet or lack of sleep. Also they were talking about the half life’s of the different types of test. There’s an ester attached to the testosterone that basically acts as a timed release mechanism. Whatever kind of ester used will determine how often you need to inject. However they were saying that regardless of that if you divide the dose up and inject every day or every other day helps keep estrogen low.
I tried sub q for 4 weeks to see if I would get those benefits they talked about. I did not, in fact I felt worse. I switched back to IM, felt way better, more focused and energized and motivated.
How often did you pin and what was the ester? I’m wondering if I pinned propionate daily sub q if that would get those benefits. Seems like it would mimic closer to how it happens naturally.
You guys didn’t mention the scrotal cream that’s working for a lot of guys that’s strange because I would think that would be something more important to talk about other than that Dom nasal spray
I was in a motorcycle incident and had some trauma to my balls, went from being active and healthy to feeling lethargic and unmotivated in about the timespan of a year. Got my test levels checked and found out they were low. Never had symptoms of low test prior to the accident, so can only assume it was from the trauma. Anyways, been on TRT for the past 4 years after thorough testing from an endo and continuous monitoring every couple months, and I've been feeling great and back to working out regularly and feeling renewed motivation
how do you determine if the low testosterone is a testes problem versus a CNS problem? How do you solve it when its a CNS problem? What is the long term plan if you want to maintain your own level, and only topping up to achieve benefits? Will you always destroy your own testosterone production if you take trt?
You will have to look at age, physical activity, and nutrition then if you are under stress constantly or have other mental problems there goes your CNS, and overtraining can also cause a problem. If you remove much of the stress or at least manage it your T levels should go up. Remember a certain amount of stress is necessary but being the right kind! Hopefully, you're not under constant stress as it will take you down and set you up for health problems and crush your testosterone but jumping on TRT is not the answer right away unless everything else is in check first and if it is and you are not too low you will want a reputable TRT clinic to try other routes first and if only then if you still can't get to point of good levels where you are feeling good then TRT will come into play. Depending on your age going on TRT at a young age you can recover or at least you should back to good levels but not everyone can after going on TRT and ending up on it for life. I no longer believe this will be the case shortly as we have made improvements and in fact, TRT will also fall by the wayside as LH TRT is here and will cheaper and covered by insurance with only needing one injection every 2 years as well as being cardio protective.
Work on maximizing your body’s ability to function efficiently, naturally. I think too many men think that they will go on TRT and it will remedy all the decades of neglecting their body’s own abilities to increase athletic performance. It’s not just about being less stressful but how about a clean diet, daily exercise, proper hydration, proper supplements, sleep hygiene. Improving endurance and evaluation of max watts or increasing your VO2 max and HRV. Perhaps the path of most resistance that few men will ever take since they can solve their problems with a testosterone replacement therapy the rest of thier lives and will feel amazing doing it that way.
enclomiphene and blood work would be a simple test. if it raises your T level significantly, it's a pituitary issue. If it doesn't affect your T at all, it could be gonads, but could also be that your pituitary won't produce LH even with reduced estrogen activity
Exogenous testosterone given in a therapeutically active dose will always shut down your natural production. Which is fine if you are dependent on taking T and will do so for life. Way too many guys think "Well I'll try it for a while" and dabble with it here and there. Much better to see where your at, take action to improve your health and try to raise it naturally. If that doesn't work then go ahead and got on T knowing it's for the long haul.
My doctor has just put me on the below. Most recent test result was 11.8nmol/l and has around that as an average for the last 2 years. I had one result at 5nmol/l but that test was in the afternoon. Cypionate: 0.25ml Twice weekly. (Monday & Thursday) HCG: 0.2ml After mixing with 0.8ml of BAC water three times weekly. (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) Tadalafil: 5mg Once daily. Optimistic to see how this changes things.
I’m 77, just an average guy, and am really interested in my health. I thought this posting would clarify some things for me however it was like listened to the Chinese phone book being read to me.
As a post prostate cancer patient on TRT, I administer testosterone cypionate daily, to minimize aromatization into estrogen and conversion to DHT. I have an unproven suspicion that estrogen “may” be involved in initiation of prostate cancer, as it is in breast cancer, and DHT is more active in binding to androgen receptors than testosterone, so I feel that there is no good reason to “kick the sleeping bear” any more than necessary to get normal testosterone related body functions working again. A year into TRT, PSA remains undetectable and I feel normal again. PS Derek knows more about hormones than any endocrinologist I have ever spoken to, and most don’t have a clue about how to do TRT properly. He should have gone to med school.
I’ve been on TRT for 5 years and I found that my sides near diminished splitting my dose twice per week also I had to get realistic on the fact that I didn’t need the max TRT dose of typically 200 mg week, for me my sweet spot is 60 mg twice weekly. I would recommend to go by labs and how you feel not ego💯💪
Splitting doses also minimizes impact on H/H and BP. In our clinic, I've noticed men on at least twice a week injections have a much lower frequency of erythrocytosis and have much smaller increase in blood pressure. Interestingly, I also see much lower H/H levels and less BP fluctuations with subcutaneous injections, whether once a week or more frequently.
For me I was 38 got my labs done for normal health check my dock added metabolic panel and hormones. I was 163 total testosterone. She told me to go exercise, eat better loose weight and sleep come back and we test again. I did that for a few months, came back I was 201, weeks tested 90 days later I was 178. I started TRT that week and it changed my life I sit at 750-800 and have taken years to dial it in and I’m still learning. It’s a choice and a lifestyle you will have to live with once you start there really is no going back if you are truly suffering from male hypogonadism.
I do microdosing daily injectjons wherever the needle will go. Testosterone cypionate 160mg a week. So about .12ml per day. I have minimal side effects estrogen and prolactin stay in check. Zero issues with hematocrit and hemoglobin. Free test around 278. And total test 750ng/dl 24 hours after my injection. Ive tried every protcol known. This works best for me
I'm surprised they didn't discuss the new daily oral TRT options (sold under the brand names Kyzatrex, Jatenzo and Tlando). Because it's pill form, it's more convenient than pinning daily and it's only twice/day instead of 3-times/day of Natesto.
Problem you have with any oral version is bioavailbilty and your guts optimisation to break it all down and utilise it efficiently. Pinning is a lot more accurate
I’ve been dosing daily subq for 12 months no ups and downs, acne or other side effects. My hematocrit prior to the switch from weekly to daily was 53 to 55 which required monthly donation now with daily 50 to 52 still high but steady. Prior to TRT it was in the 47 to 48 very steady. I’m very fortunate that my hospital has a program that tracks all my blood test over the years. Therefore easy to compare trends. I transfer 200mg vial into 10 syringes a pain because it’s so thick and a very small dose but it works.
A little tip, use bigger needle to draw, smaller to inject. And warm up the vial or the syringes under hot water it helps liquify the oil and goes in easier!
Yes on the daily. Yes on the acne once a week inter muscle. It stopped within one week of subq. A small amount once in a while now. SMALL amount on my nose!
I’m 40, loved TRT, have genuine low test, never touched PEDS. Had to stop, was killing my hair, even on finasteride. I’m too vein lol I’ll feel sluggish and skinny and keep my thick head of hair
Peter Im 53 an had a testosterone level of 123 (felt horrible). Im prescribed test cypionate 200mg inj. every 10 days. I don't feel life changing results as many talk about. Should I talk to my DR about 1/2 the dose every 5 days for a more consistent result?
@@Nogi-aka-DJNugz I was told the effects would take weeks to feel anything. Who knows if it's placebo or not. I felt the effects almost immediately. Couldn't sleep for like 2 days. Once my body stabilized, after a couple weeks, slept like a baby.
@@TILLEYJS I went to bed and woke up at 3 am ready to run a marathon. That was almost a week ago and the fatigue is mostly gone. Working on better sleep protocols
@@Nogi-aka-DJNugz once you get it dialed in, the side effects will subside. The big thing I learned was less testosterone injected gave me more total and free. With less estradiol. Started at 140mg. Went to 160mg(total test went down). Am now on 85-95 mg test cyp a week.
I am not a roidcel anymore and not interested in doing TRT for now. But IF I DID I would do test prop frequent administrations instead of enanthate. less sides (blood production, blood pressure, and aromatization). Hopefully not need an aromatase inhibitor. When I was doing 350 mg test (beyond sensible TRT dose) for a few months and getting bloods done my test was supraphysiological obviously but so was my estradiol. Not good. Like Derek says you want to minimize the disparity between the massive peaks and valleys and try to emulate physiological/circadian testosterone production. Your test is highest in morning and gently drops throughout the day till it's bed time. I came to that conclusion on my own after experimenting on myself and putting info together. nice to see Derek and Dr. Attia confirm that reasoning.
I didn't understand a dang bit of this video. I went to one of those men's clinics and they told me I needed to take t shots. I saw my doctor and he said he didn't recommend it. I think my test level was 190. I don't know what to do or who to see who knows about this.
190 is way low. General medical practitioners usually have no clue about this stuff. If I was you, I would run with the T clinic. But your choice, obviously.
It’s mainly about whether you have symptoms of hypothyroidism. Symptoms like low libido, low energy, inability to burn fat and difficulty building muscle, to name a few. 190 is very low for total testosterone. I would be surprised if you aren’t experiencing symptoms.
I have low T as a complication of Crohn's disease, something to do with not metabolising cholesterol, idk, my Endocrinologist explained it to me. Have some other issues caused by Crohn's too, such as low Cortisol, low Vitamin D, and a bunch of other stuff. TRT has definitely helped me.
I regret ever going on TRT..... I have been on over 10 years under a physician, I have tried bi-weekly, tri-weekly, daily injections, I have tried cyp, prop and cyp/prop combos. My doses have never been ridiculous... they are small to achieve/maintain physiologic levels.. Currently I am on 12mg's of Prop daily... anyway.. since being on TRT my sleep has been non-existant/destroyed (severe apnea developed since starting trt), I do not see any amazing benefits in the gym (most likely due to lack of sleep).......... Although my numbers on paper look great/optimized, I certainly don't feel that way.... seems like I spent half my time on TRT chasing numbers and now spent the other half just trying to feel good and never been able to get dialed in... so with that said, At the end of the summer I am going to go off TRT.... so if anyone has a good protocol for going off trt I would very much appreciate it.
@@ryanroseevans its the trt....there is a documented relationship between trt and apnea. Never had issues with sleep/apnea until starting trt. I know the apnea /lack of sleep is the cause of all my issues which is directly linked to my trt.
@@btk03z19 That sucks to hear. I have experienced nothing but positives on TRT other than holding water if my diet gets even a little off. I am assuming you use a CPAP? Ive had apnea for 15 years and must use a CPAP to stay alive. I had to start taping my mouth shut after starting TRT.
@@paint3ball I was really heavy (278) back in 2022 and went to the doctor to see what was going on. They said I was pre diabetic and stage 1 hypertension. They kept saying to lose the weight. Went on keto for a year and lost down to 195. It was great. But then started getting gout attacks every other week back in January. It was so weird. I went to four doctors, each with a different specialty and they kept saying it’s a Uric Acid issue. Got that tested and while I was on the upper side of the range, I wasn’t really that high and still within range. Then it happened again in August and I was over it. Couldn’t walk for two weeks. So my wife was googling and found a study that has a link between low T and dehydration. Docs said hydration was key with helping prevent a gout attack. So I was like a Hail Mary is better than nothing. Limped in for the first appointment and 124. Overnight the gout attack was gone. Dude, since then I have lost 14 lbs and never feel dehydrated. Sex life is 1000x what it was and can hold the erection to the length I could when my wife and I first met. She is going multiple times in one session now which has changed a ton of our household mental health. I 10000000% support getting tested and aiming for 800 T. I get checked tomorrow to see how the 6 weeks have been. I do injections and my wife administers, she likes knowing the treatment is happening. $200 a month with Doc supervising. They have me on gonado as well, which I haven’t noticed any difference one way other on that, so I’m trusting that’s good to have. But the T, completely worth it.
Any update? I'm 35 and numbers aren't far off yours. I've implemented lots of lifestyle changes, supplementation, diet, etc for the last 3 years and my testosterone has barely budged (my max is 280 currently but I was at 200 when I started). How do you feel and what are your numbers at? I am worried about starting TRT but feel like I've tried everything and still feel like shit (mainly fatigue and anxiety - I can fall asleep at 7 PM every night, that's how I tired I get throughout the day).
Absolutely my dudes! Week 6 and I have slimmed down a bit, my manboobs have flattened out, and I sleep better, gout problems I was having constantly are gone. Sex drive with my wife is through the roof. It’s like someone put a battery in the system. I don’t deal with any testosterone anger or painful nipples or anything like that.

At 67, I went Carnivore 16 months ago, fixed me right up and my Testosterone level has doubled. When you do any hormones, testosterone, insulin, or another to correct a deficiency it can and more than likely will throw off another hormone in your body and cause more problems ....best to change lifestyle first before doing any of that stuff.
That's why it a prescription medication. It need to be monitored by a doctor to keep things as balanced as possible. Is it a perfect balance? No, but the cure sill has to be better than the disease. When you're at the levl where you need TRT, you no longer have the luxury of a lifestyle change. You're way past fixing it solely by lifestyle of diet.
have to disagree - desinged by nature means you have ups and downs. but with daily injections and the half life of 4,5 days, you dont have downs. only with cream you could mimic nature.
For me the fitness lifestyle and training as it self is for me the entire world. That‘s why I‘m on TRT, i loce training everyday and still be able to drive the rode bike for 100km or even more. I do 120 á week. So I‘m able to train nearly every day. I love moving and training, maybe because of my adhd.
I have been on TRT for over 10 years and have had prescriptions from different doctors. Some prescribe it every 4 weeks and currently every 2 weeks. None of the primary care physicians I have seen would entertain any information on half-life or information I would try to show them from the Endocrine Society. So, the bigger issue is trying to get Doctors educated. They are supposed to be smart so why do they fuck up so bad and not give a fuck. My current doctor is very adamant that I do not take the testosterone more frequently than every 2 weeks so I have to lie to him. I have lived in small towns for the last 10 years so I do not have the luxury of finding a better doctor.
Maybe you can find one online? I would strongly suggest a minimum of twice weekly! I think its because Testosterone is still taboo. But there are good endocrinologist out there!
My experience has mirrored your own. You'll likely have better luck with endocrinologists. GP's are nearly universally terribly uneducated on this vital and common issue. Your doctor is insisting on bigger spikes and longer troughs which is terrible for your body!
I've come to the conclusion that the only place to find good doctors is in major cities and even then you have to be very selective. I don't know what has happened to the medical profession - most of them don't seem to give a fuck about anything - most are poorly informed, don't keep up with medical literature and lack in depth knowledge and understanding. And in terms of being caring, you'd probably get more interest, empathy and care from a block of wood.

If you start TRT, make sure you also take the meds that prevent testicular atrophy/ shrinkage. They will shrink in as little as two months after you start only TRT.
I started Test Cyp last year at 24 years old and I started at 250mg a week. My numbers sky rocketed and I felt great but my doc recommended I shoot every 10 days instead of every 7. Bloodwork is perfect btw
@williepie yes "black market". I was very skeptical until I did research on the place I use and found out they are the oasis for IFBB pros and fighters. I bought my own purity test kit and made sure everything I get is GMP manufactured.

Yes, indeed mate. I feel the same way. I'm new to this whole thing and although I just about understand, to an extent, what they're saying, it's still so confusing
Just do it for 3months at 120mgs weekly split into twice a week injections, once Monday, the other Friday, keep it simple, keep it consistent, allow the first month to pass before you expect any change. Anything prior to 30days will be placebo.. if you don't like it PCT off, your nat production will come back to where you were. Or include HCG during your test run. But HCG can hinder the results or be able to decipher what's doing what.. better just to keep it simple TRT only IMO unless your trying to have children... but for a 90day test run just T
Find an actual doctor. As in a mens health clinic. Try to find a small local one if you can. Have an entire blood panel done. They will know what to look for. You want to know your free test. Testosterone number isn’t what they treat. You’re treating symptoms. Low total T isn’t good and isn’t healthy. I take .50mg a week. It changed my life. It’s amazing. But it isn’t a short cut to anything. It’s medication I need. My test was at 260. Free test was around 5.3.
For normal TRT (within range) use, they are only positives MINUS slowly becoming infertile (unless you cruise on HCG or Proviron, but you can't cruise forever on them) ... atrophied testes. Stay within upper normal range of tst, hematocrits and estradiol, you'll be good to go. You will actually improve your long term health.
Gentlemen, I am 6 foot one, 185 pounds with abs, and I’ve had visible abs most of my life. I am 41 years old, and testosterone last blood test was 927. I have never taken any steroids. I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t have social media, I don’t watch porn. I live my life outdoors, go to the gym four days a week and lift, hike, play music. It is 1000% all about how you live your life. Stop listening to the snake oil salesman. None of these guys on testosterone look good at all. And it will age you like crazy. Live your life outdoors, doing things, put down the phone, stop watching porn, and have a healthy sex life and have sex every day, do not masturbate. This is my advice.
I already had most of the negative side effects from TRT as pre-existing conditions. None of them got worse after I started. In fact, some of them, like sex drive, improved after I started.
My Test level was 350 nanograms per decepticonliters , urologist put me on Clomid/chlomiphene 6 weeks ago and now I will be doing blood work and get the results on Monday. I haven’t really noticed an improvement yet , I guess I was just expecting to feel like a super hero.

I have already done several hours of more fundamental research, so I already understand those topics. For me this video was perfectly executed. Rehashing beginner stuff in every single video would just make them unnecessarily long. I recommend finding some beginner videos and building up your fundamentals.
I’m thinking about starting TRT, I’m 47 and 5’8 160lbs, I exercise 2 times a week and have good energy, but lately I’ve been finding it harder to get motivated to exercise, I’m wanting to put on more muscle, but I seem to lack the motivation feels like brain fog, will TRT help mentally and physically?
My doctor told me that between the ages of 25 and 75, free testosterone decreases by 50-60%, from 430 ± 100 pmol/l to 220 ± 80 pmol/l. The testosterone concentration decreases by about 100 ng/dl per decade. The most important thing to do before starting TRT is to understand the cause of the low free testosterone level, as it could be a symptom of another important disease. I had hypogonadism and my level was 63 pmol /l at the age of 47. I started TRT 100 mg per week. Now I am on 250 mg per week but it is my decision to increase it this way. (I don't think my doctor would approve of this) TRT is very addictive and completely changes a person's life. I'm not sure what my reaction would be if someone told me I should stop taking testosterone. I'll probably deny the situation and continue using.
I am 44, I was diagnosed with hypogonadism at 43. My insurance won't help because they label it as a "lifestyle choice". I don't know what to do at this point.
One thing I wished they would have touched on at the end is what is the best ether for sub-q injections. I keep seeing mixed data on being able to inject cypionate sub-q.
I ran subQ cypionate 3x 100mg per week and was able to move my hematocrit down to 50 from 56 vs once a week IM. No more blood donations... Also, check your blood profiles (CBC) and ferritin levels. You might see that frequent donations stress those values. Its best to avoid doing it if you can
I’m really intrigued by the number of men that are now using trt in the past few years. Was there a law that recently changed? A breakthrough in the production of testosterone? What’s the explanation? As enticing as it seems to restore one’s youth, I find it hard to commit to having injections done for the next 40 years or so. The possible long term effects are concerning.
I’m 21, sitting at 240 naturally. Gonna be injecting 200 a week to help with bodybuilding and kind of an intro into cycling gear. I’ve heard every negative opinion so it’s nice to hear informed people
I am almost 40, have big muscles, still pop accidental boners like im 17. Only thing I take is protein shakes. Its not needed bro. Body weight/ compound lifts, eat leafy greens, cut way down on alcohol, no mcdonalds. Don't let all this bullshit make you think you have to inject yourself with chemicals. especially at 21! if you start you might impair your own testosterone function
I've been doing 0.3 at three times per week and it keeps me in the 900 to 1000 range. I had hypogonadism from a varicocele, so my natural baseline without TRT was around 150. I load insulin syringes once per week, so they're ready to go on injection day. I use a 29g insulin needle into the upper vastus lateralis and the thick liquid has no problem going through the small syringe
I'm 56 now soon to be 57. I'm 5 foot six at 160 pounds I eat correctly and I've been going to the gym my whole life at least three times a week. First time I had my testosterone tested was back in 2007. My total came back at 362. I've had my testosterone checked every year from that point. And at one time my testosterone was at 246 and that was tested at 7 o'clock in the morning. But for the most part, my testosterone range from 305 to 380 since 2007. I did have it checked about a month ago at 3 o'clock in the afternoon and it came back and 236. Do have an appointment with a urologist next month? I'm thinking about starting TRT.
Tried testosterone replacement therapy. Great at first. The effects tapered off. I got acne, my hair fell out, my testicles shrunk to peanuts. I stopped. Never again.
@@photo80sjeff84 doesn't always happen. Just see how you go. If you start losing hair, you can either take meds/treatments to help prevent it, or stop the trt
@@photo80sjeff84 I’ve learned that one injection per month isn’t enough. I took it upon myself to split it up and start doing 100mg once per week. I’ve noticed more motivation to do things but nothing for libido yet. I’ll re-do blood work in a few weeks to check on my levels.
I would like to see the correlation between testosterone injections and prostate cancer. I took testosterone injections for 4 years then got prostate cancer. I also had to donate blood to keep my red bloods cells down and had to take an androgen inhibitor. I ran into an internist that said he believes the testosterone caused my prostate cancer. He said men’s clinics will say it doesn’t cause prostate cancer it just feeds it but he believes it causes it. Is there any data about this?
I don't have any correlation of trt and prostate cancer. My prostate levels have gone back as a matter a fact. My Doctor always asks about my diet and exercise because he said it's natural for prostate levels to go up not ever backwards.
Fist, sorry about your cancer. And second, a spurious correlation. Anything's possible, but steroids is not typically the cause of prostate cancer. Just so you know, ALL men will suffer some prostate issues at some point. Steroids or not.
Here's a question for anyone on TRT. I've been on it for 5 years. If I don't work out for 3-4 weeks, I get crazy cramping(spontaneous). Anyone else get weird cramping in general? Dose(test cyp) is 90mg/week. Potassium and magnesium is normal levels. 43 years old.

My dad uses REANDRON® 1000 which is the same as Nebido. He injects 4ml every 12 weeks. I understand the half life is longer but that doesn’t seem optimal, are you able to advise on an alternative to Nebido or best injecting frequency? Hi, Any advice would be appreciated... Diagnosed with hypogonadism and required to do TRT. My levels are stable and sit at a more consistent range without the roller coaster of doing weekly, or twice a week. Only side effects have been acne which is not terrible on my back, but weirdly I got pretty severe acne between my pecs, and it's very stubborn stuff that won't go away. I've had it for like 3 months now. It is weird being my age and waking up with morning wood every day, but I'm not complaining. I got acne too but I found a couple secret weapons. The first is Niacinamide. I take 250 mg twice per day. What this does is regulate your oil levels. I think you have it backwards. You can control your levels much better with injections.
@@keiththomson9628 Gotta respectfully disagree. The pellets last between 5-6 months, depending on activity level. I’ve done labs at various points during each stretch and every time the numbers are spot on. The T leeches out at a constant rate that even a shot per day can’t match.

In fact, I refuse to. my triglycerides are also high yet. I had my first calcium test five years ago and it was zero then and it is still zero now. 200 mg of testosterone for me puts me around 750.
A Bulgarian doctor I follow says that most men with Low Test do need TRT, but it's Thyroid Replacement Therapy that's actually needed.
Lol
Do you mean "do not need" or "need"?
@cheetahwolf8978 thank you for sharing your experience. Could you tell me how’s your TRT protocol?
how do you determine if the low testosterone is a testes problem versus a CNS problem?
See how you respond to clomid or hcg

HCG: 0.2ml After mixing with 0.8ml of BAC water three times weekly. (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
Tadalafil: 5mg Once daily.

Very true
That's called Collaboration 😁

Great work people, so interesting, keep it coming!!
Because its new, injections have been studied and done for a long time, they are safe and effective. Pinning > any other method.
Afaik oral testosterone is hard on your liver and often not preferred.
Omg stop
You don't need to pin daily on trt
Twice a week for me with insulin pin on delt. Couldn't be easier
@@HappyWolverine, agreed, but they discuss people who want to pin daily. My only point was that the oral TRT options would (somewhat) mimic that.
@@StelioKontoss Good advice on the needles, 21g for drawing 25g for injecting. I'd skip the water warming for hygiene purposes.
Outstanding I use a larger needle to draw but I will try the warm water method next time
No bumps from subq injections ? How much do you inject every day 0.2 ml? Did you had acne before from once or twice a week shots?
Yes on the daily. Yes on the acne once a week inter muscle. It stopped within one week of subq. A small amount once in a while now. SMALL amount on my nose!
I’m 40, loved TRT, have genuine low test, never touched PEDS. Had to stop, was killing my hair, even on finasteride. I’m too vein lol I’ll feel sluggish and skinny and keep my thick head of hair

Same. Did it anyway. Got my life back. You choose your own path. low t will make you not take chances. Consider that influence in your decision.
That should be a very easy decision when your numbers are that low!
190 is way low. General medical practitioners usually have no clue about this stuff.
If I was you, I would run with the T clinic. But your choice, obviously.
Drs are idiots.
Maybe its no the TRT thats the issue, TRT wont save your entire life if you still have your own stuff to work through.

I do injections and my wife administers, she likes knowing the treatment is happening. $200 a month with Doc supervising. They have me on gonado as well, which I haven’t noticed any difference one way other on that, so I’m trusting that’s good to have. But the T, completely worth it.

Just do it for 3months at 120mgs weekly split into twice a week injections, once Monday, the other Friday, keep it simple, keep it consistent, allow the first month to pass before you expect any change.

How do you get a Doc to prescribe it? Most of them won't.
I ran subQ cypionate 3x 100mg per week and was able to move my hematocrit down to 50 from 56 vs once a week IM. No more blood donations... Also, check your blood profiles (CBC) and ferritin levels. You might see that frequent donations stress those values. Its best to avoid doing it if you can
What size did you use for subq and where did you inject?
I’m really intrigued by the number of men that are now using trt in the past few years. Was there a law that recently changed? A breakthrough in the production of testosterone? What’s the explanation?
As enticing as it seems to restore one’s youth, I find it hard to commit to having injections done for the next 40 years or so. The possible long term effects are concerning.
I've had no long term effects at all. Check your levels and see where you are at before starting. Your body and mind will like it.

I use a 29g insulin needle into the upper vastus lateralis and the thick liquid has no problem going through the small syringe
I'm 56 now soon to be 57. I'm 5 foot six at 160 pounds I eat correctly and I've been going to the gym my whole life at least three times a week. I would really like to have erections again. I've tried pumping, Have tried all sorts of supplements. A friend who is diabetic, gets injections! Is this something I just have to accept?
I know 60-70yrs switched across to 0.5ml twice a week 250mg, massive change when using TRT Cypionate !
My dad uses REANDRON® 1000 which is the same as Nebido. He injects 4ml every 12 weeks. I understand the half life is longer but that doesn’t seem optimal, are you able to advise on an alternative to Nebido or best injecting frequency? I’ve tried to find information online but keep running into the same mainstream recommendation.
Nebido one of the worst for keeping test levels in tact. Enanthate or cypionate way better options.
Hi, Any advice would be appreciated... Diagnosed with hypogonadism and required to do TRT. Heres the problem, whenever I ake my test shot (Sustanon), I'm man down for 3 day's flat, no energy and the biggest issue is a really sore body, especially the joints. Hence I skip the next injection which is around the 3 week mark making it very inconsistent. Is there a solution to this or a way around it. I do feel good about a week later however, the initial effects are really painful and sore enough to not want to do it again. Thanks
You are not alone, I know people who inject 250mg Cypionate 0.5ml twice a week, real game changer !
New formulation FDA approved Aveed™ Testosterone Undecanoate that is given every 4 weeks for primary hypogonadism. I'm curious what the PK curve looks like for this med.
Edit, just looked at the PK curve and it isn't great, almost at baseline prior to injection levels after 42 days.
Did blood work and low test doc prescribed me test amd i do half cc a week no side effects at 44yrs if needed i will do half cc my whole life
What if add HCG on ny routine TRT???
I recently had bloodwork done, results were 325 ng/dL cfree test and 17.1 nmol/L. Should this be concerning that I’m bottom of range for cfree test? 36 years of age and a diabetic of 27 years.
Been super curious about taking T and anavar at 42 years old. I just want to heal quicker! And feel better in general. Improving my health and fitness always. About to have really good insurance too 😂. What are the first steps I should take before going into this? What should I know, what kinds of questions should I be asking my doctors?
I know I need bloodwork first, but I don't want to overlook anything that could be detrimental to my health.
That's not TRT. TRT treats an ailment.
How would i get on TRT in canada?
Seems impossible
I am in Ontario, gontonyour Dr. get a blood test for available and free testosterone. If the results are low, you can ask for a prescription.
In Ontario, they prescribe Delestryl ml every 4 weeks, and if no improvement, they can prescribe 1ml every 2 weeks.
Im 50 yrs old. 185 lbs. I bench and squat twice my body weight.. 5’8” with a 32” waist… im on 150 mills a week of Test Cyp amd life couldn’t be better.. i make it threw the work day now, my wife is happier, im happier and more confident.
I was a thin hardgainer with low test at 200 nanos per deciliter.. 165 pounds weak no energy… pecker didnt work that well and life was just a struggle daily..
My wife and I work out together. Eat one ingredient foods, pound the water, sleep well and the rest works its self out.
These gatekeepers in the fitness world need to get over themselves.. just cause you dont fuck with dont mean others shouldn’t.
Has Derek done any videos on Enclomiphene? Curious on its effectiveness compared to straight test.
Bad choice for long term.
@vaidasviper Why is that?
@@8Rider6 how many tabs you would need to take daily, if you want to reach let's say 600-900 of test? Is that even possible? Still would taking medicine. Liver won't be happy about that extra work either. But you know, it's everyone's personal choice.
@@vaidasviper So that's the answer is liver toxicity? Just asking as I don't know much about it beyond how it's marketed. It's not exogenous test, so your body won't stop or slow production of it like it would with straight up test which is an appealing benefit. Seems it's mostly used for HRT and said to "double" test levels, but if it's harder work on the liver, makes sense as not a great option either.
I wish they spoke more in Laymans terms so I could understand what they were actually saying, because I certainly haven’t had any success with my doctor explain it to me. What does once every two weeks a half milligram of 200 strength mean in the terms of what they were talking about?
Find a local mens health clinic. No primary doctor will want to help you. They want you sick.
