Jeff Chapman - Vocal Range
Вставка

- “Jeff Chapman is a long-time southern gospel singer, formerly singing bass for the Anchormen, and currently for the Kingdom Heirs. He manages to maintain a very chesty sound throughout his entire range, even down into the lower first octave. His higher range, while not utilised terribly often, manages never to sound strained, but instead retains the same power he uses to project the lower part of his range.”
Haven’t seen a comprehensive video on his range before, so thought it was time to do one in the few days I had spare after my exams. Apologies if there are any errors, I was in a rush.
Questionable Notes:
F4:
His Love - Live NQC 2006 (Unable to find any. Unsure of its existence and vocal origin)
• Jeff Chapman - The Kin... (while the context is obviously non-melodic and comedic, the quality isn’t terrible, and he sustains that pitch a few times throughout the video. In the end I couldn’t be bothered to edit it in)
Eb4:
His Love - Live NQC 2006 (Unsure of vocal origin, but it may be Jeff. Decided to leave it in)
F#1: www.facebook.c... (not actually sure if this note exists. Might be just some strange audio effect that occurs or something. not too sure but I'm definitely hearing something there. Decided to leave it in)
F1:
Jesus is mine - Anchormen 1991 (could be Bb1 or F1. Not too sure. Seems to come out too easily for an F1, but my ear tells me it slides to an F. I dunno)
Thanks to TRP for the original thread and vocal summary up until 2016. The rest of the research was my own.
Plans for the future: Not too sure. Was making a video for Tim Foust but got bored (soz). May come back to it eventually (and Geoff too) when I have a spare minute. Unsure of what my next video will be, but I’ll probably make a vocal range video for Hannah Reid of London Grammar once their new album comes out, but don’t hold me to that. Also want to make a video of every note on the piano being sung. Might be fun. Probably not. Thought about doing a vid on Lockie Chapman but I don't have time to note watch his material at the moment. Might also do a Glenn Miller low notes video, as well as Oktavism/basso profundo part 2. Possibly a video for Nicola Cavallaro. I've collected a fair few low notes between E2 and C#2 that I'm not really sure what to do with at the moment. Maybe one day I'll also make a female low notes video. Who knows
Thanks for watching
This geez really needs some more in focus pics of him
This has probably fucked up my Spotify wrapped for the year already
I don’t own any of the anything
12:10 is not Jeff. The performance is from 1995, before Jeff joined the Kingdom Heirs. The bass is Eric Bennett.
Desolé

Jeffs upper register sounds like every bass singer’s should
Jeff's low notes are so clean and punchy
8:40 is the cleanest A1 I’ve ever heard.
I think his A1 is my favorite part of his range.
Wasn't here for the diffusion.
.
His voice is purely impressive, a pure bass timbre and a dark tone as well, great video, nice clips
I’ll be honest, I’m quite a fan of his upper range, obviously those 4th octaves can be pretty hard for basses to belt but he honestly sounds pretty alright, and as always the massive lows he pulls out being as impressive as always
Very probably the best example of a virtuoso vocalist to be found among the human species.
And in a great stroke of luck for us, specializing in the BASS range!
Great video. Jeff is my favorite bass singer that singing today, also I'm friends with him on Facebook. I wish I could sing like him.
I've noticed a little mistake in the video. For the song "I Go To The Rock" in F#1, that not Jeff its Eric Bennett.
Oh crap yeah sorry that’s my mistake. I didn’t see that the video was from 1995, before Jeff joined. Thanks for pointing it out
Sorry for missing the premier I just didn’t get the noti 🤷♂️
Anyway your videos have so much time put into them! Don’t understand how you find so many clips it’s nuts
And 10:15 always catches me off guard
🥰
No About it

He is the best souther gospel bass i heard
Wow

Songs of 5:14 and 5:26 plsssss? :(
5:14 is good news from the graveyard not sure about the other one
5:26 ... the lord is great and wonderful.
What’s his lowest chest note?
Hard to say. I think he starts mixing with fry around A/G#1 for more power, but can evidently sing a nice modal A1 (have yourself a merry little Christmas)
Actually he has a G1 chest,it was from facebook and it was very very airy i almost though it was growl
@@freddiestudio7668 link?
F#1 chest ??
I think he starts mixing below A1. Depends on the note
@@matthewdockray9745 even some of his Bb1s/A1s were fried
