- In this follow-up episode, we're taking Jay's Roush S550 to new heights. After our initial upgrades in our previous video, we've added a VMP Return Style Fuel System and switched to E85. The dyno is ready - will E85 be the secret sauce for more horsepower?
We're not stopping there... We swap the 3.4" pulley for an even more aggressive 3.0" pulley. In the last episode, we gained 70 rwhp without touching the tune file. Now, with the VMP return style fuel system, E85, and, a smaller pulley, we're expecting fireworks on the dyno.

I always thought that the 15-17 s550 front ends look better than the 18-23 just my opinion
They do look better I prefer gen 2 coyotes all the way.
Absolutely
Dr.Horsepower "JD" a huge thank you! I should have swapped to the VMP Gen3R, VMP Return Style Fuel System including VMP Rails, E85, 3" VMP Pulley and the VMP secret sauce Tune years ago.....Car runs incredible....many thanks!!
i have a genuine roush car and mike weedin from VMP has it running great. i can wait to save up for a return style system and see what numbers i could get with my little 2.3 blower
I made the switch to the Gen3r a couple years ago. My rods and pistons Gen 1 made 900 rwhp on a 2.9 with ID1300x and VMP return style fuel system. 👍 I’m building a 5.2 Coyote right now and hope to turn it up a bit more.
Awesome!!! Thanks for your business and support!
Your gen 1 on borrowed time
@@maximusvonce1381 Yeah if you read the post the built Gen1 lasted 4 years until it cracked a cylinder. I am currently breaking in my 5.2 Predator block Coyote that I just finished building.
Oh i thought it was a stock Gen 1..Horsepower will not crack a cylinder. Either you detonated or overheated engine.. Built Gen 1 will take 1000wheel easy.

Nice Work! What does that 3.0 pulley equivalent to a 72? And what injectors were used?
Thanks 👍
It's equivalent to a 79 mm. He has DW95lbs
What wheels are those? I like em!
Thank you, Spec1 Wheels
What injectors are you using in this build ? I may have missed it.
DW95s
How much power can this engine handle reliably on a day to day basis?
They live a pretty long life at 800-850rwhp on E85. You are not going WOT all the time so that helps a lot.
Would you mind sharing the lbs of boost on the final pull? Thanks
Last video the 3.4 pulley made 12 psi, assuming 1 psi per .1", 16 psi was the 3.0"
Allthingsboost is on the money. 16psi peak give or take a little.
@VMPPerformanceTV I have a 2015 with a Gen3R making over 925whp on 14lbs using a 72mm pulley. I have aftermarket cams though. That must be why even with less boost, has more whp than your final pull. That's the only thing I can think of.
@@project1x227 that's the equivalent to a 2.8 pulley, and equivalent to 18psi, which is where your extra power is coming from. LT headers, free flow exhaust and cams all drop boost like you said.
do these roush mustangs have built bottom ends? or stock internals?
Stock internals.
What’s the iat2 temps vs the newer Odin? Is it night and day?
From pump gas (kit levels) of boost up to 16-18psi, they look very similar. The advantage of Odin is in higher boost (20psi+) applications. But, we offer cooling modifications to bridge that gap for high power Gen3R builds. Rebecca's race car runs a Gen3R at 1200whp and has no issues with IATs.
@@VMPPerformanceTVWow! Thanks. That’s good to know. I’m contemplating the idea of swapping my Procharger but miss my old Roush punch… any idea if the 3100 rotors will be out in 2024?
We don't have a specific ETA established yet as there's still product development and testing going on. The TVS2650 is such a killer rotor set that covers such a wide range of goals while retaining that "punch" that everyone loves, including us!
Are the boost numbers similar between the gen3r and Odin on the same pulley ?
Rebecca's 11 5.0 looks like mine, but i make 300wheel less.. lol
