Been playing support for years in ESO. Siege master in Cyrodiil. Buffs/Debuffs and pocket heals. Semi tanky. Hybrid 30k stats in Mag, Stam, Health 35k and resistance 30k with impen 1800. It's actually quite fun.
Since I suck at PvP I usually default to support, but I'm not complaining I love being able to help the group like this as it is waht I am best at and with this awsome Info I will be able to do it better! Thanks 😁👍
Playing support can definitely be a great way to first get into pvp because if you make a mistake your build is much more forgiving, and you are more likely to be able to recover from your mistake what with all of your healing and tankiness - whereas a bursty damage dealing build can't say the same. And like you said, it is really fun to be able to help the group! Good luck! :D
Thanks for this useful info. I am trying to get into healing and I wanted to take my templar into midyear mayhem but I just haven't got her ready! I need to get barrier and warhorn so I need to go in. Also I haven't leveled sword and board. I find it amazing how you and others have such good knowledge of different skills and debuffs and how to counter them. I think pvp players are so smart
You are welcome, I hope it can be of use to you! I’d highly recommend a sword and board as a support for those amazing passives! But if it’s just not possible to level it in time for the pvp event you could definitely heal with a lightning staff or ice staff backbar, you just won’t be as tanky. Pvp is ever changing and very dynamic, so we have to really stay on top of all of the constant changes and how they affect metas and all that, so you will find that a lot of pvpers are actually quite well informed and knowledgeable! Happy midyear mayhem, have fun!
Haha, I hope you meant 13 kills and 1 death ;) But yeah! My duo partner and I can often go a whole match without a single death, so he'll get a score like 15 - 0, which in high MMR bgs, is very impressive! :D
I know the feeling! 🥲 A lot of my close friends from eso don’t play anymore - pvp just isn’t the same without the whole squad! And it can definitely be a challenge to heal a pick-up-group in battlegrounds 😅
Oh wow nice, that class is great as a support (as a stam based support AND a mag based support)! I'm so jealous of their little teleportation vine skill haha that looks so fun and useful!
@@Arttea Yea totally! Im a roleplayer at heart I like to get Into it, so mainly chose the class for the fantasy of it. Rolled a woodelf (despite being magicka dont @ me) for the fitting theme! Super Happy with it!
Making my first PVP support build (Argonian Magplar), thinking of using Pariah on body, Transmutation on weapons (lightning and resto staves) and jewelry, and the Gaze Of Sithis mythic with a 1pc Troll King. Thoughts?
That sounds pretty solid! Argonian plus Troll King 1 piece is a lot of extra healing power. Consider running a Frost Staff in place of a Lightning! It lets you block using Magicka, which is clutch for saving Stam for CC breaks. Destructive Clench with a Frost Staff is also remarkably cheap, *and* applies both Major/Minor Maim (-15% damage done!) to your target, rooting them in place. As an added bonus, it also leaves the enemy slowed and taking more crit damage, too!
I’m trying to build a support on my main, a nord necro. I’m looking to go more on the side of a tank with some debuffs and I’m really looking for ideas in putting it together if you have thoughts! Probably mainly a small group 3-5 people total and open Cyro so there are some outnumbered situations.
If I use pariahs to test out in what class / race and other sets would you pair up with it ? I'd be using vampire aswell . Oh and would it be a 6 heavy 1 light build or 5 heavy 2 light ? Any recommendations welcome :)
Hey! Thats a real nice view and inspiring content to build something self and dont just pic copy something meta. Im playing a necro healer and like the idea using a shield and sword on my backhand. But i cant find a sword/shield that would fit. I mostly wearing tanky set. I got the sword and shield from the Dragonstararena wich got a cool set bonus - do you have any preferences for a sword/shield?
It's great to see a woman doing this contest most of the content creators are men not to say there's anything wrong with that but it is nice to have a different perspective. You go girl.
For sure - I am playing as an altmer (I absolutely love their “spell recharge” racial passive, I think it synergizes so nicely with the support role because of all that extra stam sustain that you can get) and my gear weights are 6 heavy, 1 light. All my pariah body pieces + 1 engine guardian helmet are heavy, and then I have a light engine guardian shoulder. I deal with the speed penalty by utilizing “race against time” for major expedition and I use 1 swift jewel ☺️
Magicka NB can be pretty damn good at support/heals. They have the best burst heal in the game, called Shrewed Offfering I think (only problem is, it can only heal ally not you) The Bolsterign darkness ult is amazing. It does an insane amount of healing, gives 70% increased speed, and gives major protection. Crippling grasp and aspect of terror (or mass hysteria) for CC's, not to mention Blood Funnel spammable and Refreshing Path for movemnt and healing HoTs. Toss in Volcanic Rune when dipping around corners while getting pressured... or on a breach,,, easy peasy. I actually used that ability plus aspect of terror (ranged fear) to end a hard damn inner breach fight one time.
Indeed, I am aware, but I play a STAMblade! 😅 In terms of group utility, mag blades do unfortunately place incredibly low in all pvp tier lists, although it is of course possible to still heal with one, it’s just not very optimal because of their class toolkits. Many people (in both pvp and pve) refer to nightblade healers as “resto staff skill line, the class” for a reason
@@cypherdroid I actually didn't mention any traits, so thanks for asking! I prefer to use "powered" on my resto staves so that I can pump out stronger heals, and then I will either go with defending or powered again on my 1h (for my sword and board) and sturdy on my shield since I do a lot of blocking. Hope that helps!
Meritorious, hitis hearth also great support sets. My support negate has over 4k mag recovery and use the support purge. Its pretty op. Usually run arksis for group ulti gen on front bar, a support healing set on body. Brp resto and eg or lord warden monster sets.
Oh yes, Arkasis is another great set because it is both a selfish set and a group support set! Imagine it on an Argonian with some potion cooldown glyphs! :O
Oh yeah that synergizes really nicely with their racial passives as well! I think that if I were to ever make another toon to play support in pvp, I would have to try out sorc so that I can bring negate to the party :D That's such a fun skill. Unfortunately, none of my friends play sorcs so we are currently without them! >.
@@Arttea shit yall need one. Not for bgs really but cyrodil it's huge you can negate so much damage. I had a Stam negate that ran dead waters last patch when we volendrung wearing dead waters also I'd reroll negates immediately after a ulti dump with the hammer it was broken as hell. Guess it was 2 patches ago actually
I've always sort of struggled with figuring out the right mundus for these when I try running support. Should I be running Ritual for more healing? Atro? Steed for health recovery and speed to keep up?
Solid question, I think it depends. Most really good supports that I know of run the atro for more mag recovery - this is SUCH a crucial stat for supports. It's the mundus that I have ran for years. If your build has an excess amount of mag recovery (which I'd find hard to believe mind you - I've had 4k mag recovery in previous builds of mine and I could still benefit from more haha) then perhaps the ritual would be worth considering. I could also see how the steed would have been good in the past, but now that health recovery is halved in pvp zones because of the "Battle Spirit" buff rework that occurred in the Blackwood update, I just don't think it is as good anymore, especially since if it's speed you are craving, you can slap on a swift jewel. Hope that helps! :D
Thank you! I am wearing: Ebonsteel Cuirass Wayward Guardian Hands Thieves Guild Greaves Silver Dawn Sabatons Knight Of The Circle Shoulders Honor Guard Girdle Symphony of Blades Arms Pack Weapons
I like Prayer Shawl on my PvE healer, but not so much in PvP. It can be hard to keep allies overhealed in PvP, and Prayer Shawl isn't very smart in applying shields to allies who don't already have one. Combat Physician is similar, and far more reliable in that it procs from Critical Heals on your allies. It does require you to build *for* Crit, though. Brands of Imperium is a pretty good set. It gives you and allies close to you a pretty big shield when you take damage, although only once every 12 seconds. You can put it on your Back Bar (typically your defensive bar) so that you can offset the downtime by switching when you take a lot of pressure. That can allow you to run an Arena Resto Staff, too!
Ironblood, Buffer of the Swift, Aetherial Ascension. I tried to pick one of them for defensive stats. Now you showed me Mark of the Pariah and I like it too. Im a bit confused. Which one should I take you think? Also watching your channel for a while and you are doing great. Keep it up
Those are all pretty solid sets! As of right now, the meta defensive set is Pariah - pair it with the passive "undeath" from stage 3 vampirism (up to 30% damage mitigation based on missing health) and you are damn near unkillable (I'm not a vamp on my support, but I really ought to be haha). Even non supports are wearing it. For example, the stam meta is more or less Pariah + Clever Alch backbar + Vate 2her frontbar + Balorg. So Pariah has my money :D Thanks for the kind words! :)
Haha, I got the idea from TwoMad, he uses the song "My Tears Are Becoming A Sea", by M83, only slowed and pitched, here is a link to it: ua-cam.com/video/H6riKx6UxgA/v-deo.html
Hi Arttea. I started playing eso like 3 months ago and i want to explore the pvp environment. My main character is a sorc and i want to ask you if i could make a solid build with this class, expecially for Cyrodiil (which is my favourite mode) and where i can find pvp builds. Thank you for the video :)
Hello! You absolutely can do very well as a magsorc right now - it is arguably the easiest class to play and it is capable of doing a lot of damage while still being tanky because of their strong shields. It is a class that has always performed well in pvp, and especially so in the no-proc cyro meta and now burst meta. If you are looking for some great builds to run for more solo-play, or when playing with a small group of friends, I would recommend the following websites: eso-pvp-builds.com/ nirnstorm.com/eso/builds/ Cheers!
I am using royale reshade! I have a link to it in my description (sorry I’d link it here but I’m on the mobile app atm) But I highly recommend it! Makes my game look stellar and it doesn’t take much of a toll on my performance either
I play a solo healer. I’m running mighty chudans, reactive and winters respite. Probably gonna switch out WR for sanctuary. Anyone have thoughts about this?
Ah man, playing solo as a support must be rough, as you won't always be able to optimize yourself for your allies since you don't know what sets they are running or what they are capable of in battle (and likewise, what the best way to support them is)! I would definitely stick to utilizing general healing sets (like winter's respite) because everyone, no matter their experience or their build, will always appreciate a little extra healing! Good luck out there and mad props for playing solo and helping people out! I'm sure you don't get thanked enough for your assistance in battle!
I only generally do the battlegrounds. I run to flags, I defend, and GET THE BALL!!! I die alot, I don't fight that much, my ego isn't that big for me to care. I focus on the objective and thats about it....deathmatch...I'm screwed lol.
When it comes to playing with a group, battlegrounds are my favourite as well because of how quickly you can get into fighting. And hey man, props for playing objective! While I really do enjoy brawling, I do find it kind of annoying when everyone plays deathmatch every time, regardless of the match type lmao - like, can we at least play deathmatch/kill each other on the flags? ;p
Hmm, well, I would stay away from sets that give you health recovery (like eternal vigor or alessian) because your vampire passives would really not compliment that. As a necromancer, while you may have access to a self purge, you do not have access to a purge for your group. If you aren't keen on the idea of using the ever-expensive alliance war purge, you could try the light armor set: curse-eater. You could proc it from "render flesh" - I also wonder if it would remove the defile that you'd get from casting it (if it does, that would be amazing!) If you'd like to just use the alliance war purge, one of the best support sets to use right now is transmutation (because of the burst meta). Gossamer may also not be a bad idea depending on the kinds of fights that you are getting into. As for selfish sets, I think Pariah is one of the best ones this patch! But Daedric Trickery would be amazing for that major heroism - it would mean more colossi for your group! I've suggested a handful of sets that I think could work well, but ultimately, it really depends on your group composition and the kind of pvp that you're doing! Good luck :D
If you are duo-ing, you don't really need a fully specialized support, but as of writing this comment, rallying cry is a great support set to use in a small group (such as a duo). You could pair this set with your preferred defensive set option and act as a tank of sorts that can group up players while your duo partner bursts them AND provide a great defensive/offensive buff to your partner through RC.
Wearing gaze of sithis would pair horribly with utilizing a sword and board, which is a must have for a lot of different kinds of pvp scenarios as a support. But I don’t doubt you, I’m just curious - what makes the gaze of sithis good for supports (is it for ball groups? Off-supports?)? And the problem that I see with crafty alfiq is that it is neither a selfish nor a tanky set. While the extra lines of mag will give sorcs bigger shields and slightly buff your healing tooltips, it just can’t compete with sets like sanctuary, which increase your whole groups healing by a tonne!
@@Arttea I run gaze + crafty + spell power on NB heal with invisibility(da meme heal). Crafty will give more sustain over healing power but y will stay in combat for a longer period of time. Y can overheal on NB even in pvp without any problems. Gaze is good for flat rez and I don't block as much on this set-up. The idea is to give more dmg to yr group via spell power + ms increase + buffs to yr group/armour debuffs to them than single out one opponent and overpower him. So basically y are waging a war of muvement. Gaze is good on a heal in pve as well because healing monster sets are unreliable (only symphony and troll kill are somewhat good + y have cp node that emulates symphony of blades) and y don't want to die because if y do it's probably a wipe for a group.
I roll and streak out of trouble more than block on my sorc healer, so while I haven't farmed up the Gaze yet I'm thinking of working it in. It's hard to part with Earthgore, though, even though everyone just rolls out of the scary blood rain so Earthgore only gets to tick once >.
I have the feeling that I always get this one guy who tries to fight a whole team on his own and dies 20 times before he starts yelling at the team that they don't play together :D
Never played support in PvP always been the one they chase and heal and let me destroy. I used to 1vX but after having a support heal us through a zerg v zerg... Its like nah we aint going into cyro without one. And here i am learning how to do just that so I can help the boys
Hell yeah brother 😎 It feels sooo good in cyro especially, like when you can help your smallman wipe up a whole zerg 👌👌👌 I've literally 3v20+ed before and it felt so good to just watch the homies mop up a zerg without needing to LOS at all ;p
Exactly some of the sets never even heard about. However I aleays thought symphony was the king support helm but after seeing so many earthgores go against me in bgs or cyro.. I know earthgore is king in cyro
There is an enemy in the game who will defeat you and your entire group, even with this bild... or any bild. It defeats everyone! Invincible, unstoppable, immortal. The name of this enemy is - per-freaking-formance (lags!Damn boy that laags!). So... in the end, it even kill your desire to play the game... God bless Zenimax, stay safe out there, peace!
Hhahaha at first I was like “pssshhhh who is this guy talkin’ bout he’s crazyyy” and then you said “lag” and I was like “no ok he has a point” 😅 Lag is the most difficult enemy of them all 😩
Damage reduction for your group will always be better than healing done. Gossamer is better than most healing sets including sanctuary and sets like winters respite. Plus if you’re a warden healer you should be using minor evasion wings.
I think that depends on the situation and the group, again. Gossamer could be very redundant if you are playing with medium armor groupmates that like using elude for that evasion + expedition. And not every single fight is going to be one that requires that your group be standing in a lot of AoEs, although granted, many are. I also found that, in light of the nerf to the uptime on the 5 piece bonus, it would be ideal to *have it active on both bars for higher uptimes, which would also make it tricky to comfortably incorporate into a tankier support spec, whereas a lot of other healing sets can only be one-barred for comfortable uptimes. This is not to say that it is a bad set, of course, but I would think that more healing done overall is still preferred because it is always appreciated, regardless of the type of fights that you get into.
@@Arttea I don’t have anyone that runs a major evasion skill even if they run medium armor mainly because we don’t do kitey play style. If you don’t actually stand and fight as a group it makes it a little useless to play in a group but to each their own I guess. Most ultimates in the game are AoE and reducing them by 20% makes a big difference when ppl think you can just carpet bomb another group and it’s a good deterrent to bombers if you just stack aoe heals on a flag and when they try to bomb their damage is reduced. I’ve stacked a build with major/minor mending and had 35K + mag with my 40K radiating regen and really beefy tool tips on my other heals too and it doesn’t help nearly as much as damage reduction does.
@@coreybroussard5264 nah my mates don’t kite, they brawl in medium armor since they play classes like warden, DK, and necro, which can be very tanky in medium armor - and they get healed well enough by me to stack nicely 😁Not arguing that damage reduction isn’t bad, it’s amazing, and gossamer should definitely be considered! But because of uptimes, and because you can shield allies from damage in other ways and because there are more unique/not redundant abilities that you can bring to the group, (and mostly because of how you have to ideally have it active on two bars) I was reluctant to include it in this montage. But like I said in this video, it all really depends on your group and situation, so thanks for sharing your insights!

You are most welcome! Good luck out there and have fun this mym!
Been playing support for years in ESO. Siege master in Cyrodiil. Buffs/Debuffs and pocket heals. Semi tanky. Hybrid 30k stats in Mag, Stam, Health 35k and resistance 30k with impen 1800. It's actually quite fun.
Great video. Nice clear narration 💯👌
I'm pretty new to eso so this was pretty informative thanks, didn't even realize a support pvp build was possible seems like a fun playstyle ^~^
Ay welcome to ESO! Yeah I eally enjoy that playstyle for group pvp! 😄
Good luck! :D
thanks for the music feature once again :)
Players like you arttea are the reason my battleground scores are like 1 kill and 13 deaths.Support roles are super important to a good team.
Haha, I hope you meant 13 kills and 1 death ;) But yeah! My duo partner and I can often go a whole match without a single death, so he'll get a score like 15 - 0, which in high MMR bgs, is very impressive! :D
this would be fun to do if i had friends to do it with
I know the feeling! 🥲 A lot of my close friends from eso don’t play anymore - pvp just isn’t the same without the whole squad! And it can definitely be a challenge to heal a pick-up-group in battlegrounds 😅
@@Arttea especially when they don't block or dodge any attack...
Thanks a bunch for this! currently levelling a warden that i plan on doing pvp with, and im definitely gonna have to try it as a support!
@@luckybreadchop Omg haha I would never judge! I'm a rper too ;p You're roleplaying as a spinner eh? So cool!
@@Arttea Indeed haha! Thanks im super excited for it!
What sword is being used here? I don't recognize it.
Turns out it was symphony of blades from Depths of Malatar
Excellent video! :)
Thank you kindly, I’m glad you enjoyed it 😌🙏
Good vid! Very concise.
Stumbled across your channel and love this. Mind sharing race and gear weights?
For sure - I am playing as an altmer (I absolutely love their “spell recharge” racial passive, I think it synergizes so nicely with the support role because of all that extra stam sustain that you can get) and my gear weights are 6 heavy, 1 light. All my pariah body pieces + 1 engine guardian helmet are heavy, and then I have a light engine guardian shoulder. I deal with the speed penalty by utilizing “race against time” for major expedition and I use 1 swift jewel ☺️
@@Arttea THANK YOU
The chibi is hella cute
Isn’t it?! Vulkrin from the server does suuuch a good job 😍
Thank you so much! I've had so much fun drawing their characters! (≧▽≦)
I play your videos in the background as I play
Hey nice video and info, I wanted to heal in pvp and this video was super informative thanks
Cheers! I'm really happy to hear it! Good luck out there 😊
@@Arttea sorry I don't know if you mentioned In the video but what weapon trait you recommend for healing in pvp ?
@@cypherdroid I actually didn't mention any traits, so thanks for asking! I prefer to use "powered" on my resto staves so that I can pump out stronger heals, and then I will either go with defending or powered again on my 1h (for my sword and board) and sturdy on my shield since I do a lot of blocking.
Hope that helps!
@@Arttea definitely helps thanks
are you running pariah in them bg clips? just a curious argonian other than that great video
I am indeed! 😊
@@Arttea ya its pretty nasty I use a nord bc negate builds in pvp need all the ulti gen you can get.
@@mandrake925 tell me about it ;p
and omg that sounds like the dream 🤩 too bad they nerfed DWG but still!
@@Arttea That's perfect, thank you! :)

Thoughts on the Prayer set?
So Pariah has my money :D
Thanks for the kind words! :)

@@Arttea thank you (:
If you are looking for some great builds to run for more solo-play, or when playing with a small group of friends, I would recommend the following websites:
eso-pvp-builds.com/
nirnstorm.com/eso/builds/
Cheers!
@@Arttea Thank you for the response. I'll work on it!
Is PvP any good on ESO or people mostly do PvE?
Your game looks fantastic. What reshade profile do you use?
I am using royale reshade! I have a link to it in my description (sorry I’d link it here but I’m on the mobile app atm)
But I highly recommend it! Makes my game look stellar and it doesn’t take much of a toll on my performance either
@@Arttea Thanks! I'll have to check it out.
I play a solo healer. I’m running mighty chudans, reactive and winters respite. Probably gonna switch out WR for sanctuary. Anyone have thoughts about this?
Actually no sanctuary, it only works on group members
Ah man, playing solo as a support must be rough, as you won't always be able to optimize yourself for your allies since you don't know what sets they are running or what they are capable of in battle (and likewise, what the best way to support them is)! I would definitely stick to utilizing general healing sets (like winter's respite) because everyone, no matter their experience or their build, will always appreciate a little extra healing!
Good luck out there and mad props for playing solo and helping people out! I'm sure you don't get thanked enough for your assistance in battle!
Awesome vídeo
Thank you! 😊
I main Stamblade to so I had to make a support magsorc but I accidentally turn him into a ganker too
Lmaoo I mean that's what happens when you are a nightblade main I guess ;p
@@Arttea Very true 😂
I only generally do the battlegrounds. I run to flags, I defend, and GET THE BALL!!! I die alot, I don't fight that much, my ego isn't that big for me to care. I focus on the objective and thats about it....deathmatch...I'm screwed lol.
When it comes to playing with a group, battlegrounds are my favourite as well because of how quickly you can get into fighting. And hey man, props for playing objective! While I really do enjoy brawling, I do find it kind of annoying when everyone plays deathmatch every time, regardless of the match type lmao - like, can we at least play deathmatch/kill each other on the flags? ;p
Im s mag vamp nec what kinda build you think would be good?
Hmm, well, I would stay away from sets that give you health recovery (like eternal vigor or alessian) because your vampire passives would really not compliment that.
As a necromancer, while you may have access to a self purge, you do not have access to a purge for your group. If you aren't keen on the idea of using the ever-expensive alliance war purge, you could try the light armor set: curse-eater. You could proc it from "render flesh" - I also wonder if it would remove the defile that you'd get from casting it (if it does, that would be amazing!)
If you'd like to just use the alliance war purge, one of the best support sets to use right now is transmutation (because of the burst meta).
Good luck :D
sigh....what the hell is that sword style motif. I need to know
That is the symphony of blades sword - unfortunately, you can’t get it anymore. It was a crown store exclusive style.
@@Arttea awww...you know I didn't think you would actually reply to a video this old..... you going lady are pretty cool
Artemis Gordan?
Question, what if your group consists of you and one other person? lmao
If you are duo-ing, you don't really need a fully specialized support, but as of writing this comment, rallying cry is a great support set to use in a small group (such as a duo). You could pair this set with your preferred defensive set option and act as a tank of sorts that can group up players while your duo partner bursts them AND provide a great defensive/offensive buff to your partner through RC.
love the discord chibis
So do I 🥺💕
crafty alfique and gaze of sithis are good for supports

Currently getting murdered in pvp. I’m jus not a great damage dealer....😩 off to make a healer 😆
Hhahaha at first I was like “pssshhhh who is this guy talkin’ bout he’s crazyyy” and then you said “lag” and I was like “no ok he has a point” 😅
Lag is the most difficult enemy of them all 😩
Damage reduction for your group will always be better than healing done.
Been wrecking pve/support toons the last few days lol lol
oof, they better watch my video then ;p a support is no good dead!
