I really do hope that ESO strives more to horizontal progression rather than vertical. I'm also huffing a lot of copium in that I hope that the "Styling" is less focused on "how much can we shove into the crown store/crates". Wardens have been pleading since the release for Cliffracer and Bear reskins. I for one would love to change Cliffracer to be a Raven, so I can further distance myself from those loud monstrosities.
Good lord that's some juicy info. Thanks for summarizing the event. I'm really interested in seeing how scribing will increase build diversity but I agree with your sentiment on high APM. Just stated a brand new character for my new gaming PC (former console-only player)--hopefully I’m through al the zone stories and dlc before this comes out because it looks AWESOME 👏…
Oh man, good luck with your questing journey I've been playing for 5 and a half years now and I don't think I am anywhere close to finishing all of the zone content. I'll definitely have to make some progress with all of that because I do kinda want that new skin from the 10-year achievement 🤩
Thank you for the video! Based upon a few things you covered, it dawned on me that if there's a class based on hermaeous mora (arcanist), I can see the potential for a class based on the glass shard theme for ithelia! I really like the way the glass shard theme looks. Anyway, good video!
I am cautiously optimistic about scribing, but I am horrified about what meta-chasing PVPers are going to be able to do with it. Mega curious to see how the scribing system works across characters and armory. I imagine each character has to go through the quest but are the chosen grimoire abilities and perks the same for the next character after the first unlocks it? Will abilities already unlocked for secondaries? Not a fan of how current companions work. Each character should experience the quests if the player chooses to emphasize the R in RPG but should be unlocked across the account if they want to jump into combat straight away.

Still in my opinion Necrom felt like a gap year, where ZOS started to understand their players more but couldn't fully give up its bad reward systems (read crown crates and crown store in general). In my opinion ZOS still hasn't done enough to get ESO out from the overmonetization hell... But the direction is right and i will ram every sorc with my kagouti mount scribing ability in Cyrodill, when Gold road releases.

I was thinking the same thing! I'm gunna start saving up my writ vouchers juuuust in case they add a scribing altar to the master writ vendor's inventory just as they did with the transmute station - especially if we can sell it hehe
I'm excited for this! Thank you for sharing your experience! I wonder though.... will other's be able to see our customized scribing? I run the Monolith of Storms set on my sorc, and no one can see the cool lightning rods causing all that damage. I was disappointed in that. I hope these aren't hidden.
Yes, we will be able to see everyone else’s scribed and styled abilities - the devs assured us of this! The lead combat developer mentioned that it was important to them that we the players will be able to recognize what attacks are coming our way in pvp. So if we get hit with a customized soul burst, we should have an idea of what all just happened to us because of the visual differences that each soul burst skill will have (ex: a soul burst with a shock damage focus will send out a shock wave). Styling should be able to be seen by other players as well, but the developers did mention that if styled skills create issues in pvp environments they may disable styles in those environments only.
Loved this overview...I gotta ask, was there any mention or discussion of any changes to overland challenge? I know they don't want to change anything for casual players but an optional change would be really nice, and I'd love to hear them even mention it.
This notion was not explicitly brought up at any of the roundtable discussions that I attended, but when I was actually chatting with Brian Wheeler 1-on-1 he said to me that when discussing the idea of a more difficult overland experience with the team, Wheeler shared my silly "questing with 1 health point" video with everyone, and how I essentially made overland questing more trickier myself that way haha. At that point I brought up the concept of the ability to wear a mythic item or something that could potentially make overland content more difficult. I did this because him telling me about my video reminded me of a conversation that sparked in my server *about* the potential creation of a "hard-mode mythic" shortly after I had dropped that video and everyone was talking about it. That's all that was really said, but I did find it interesting to know that a more challenging overland experience is definitely something that the developers have been discussing - Wheeler basically confirmed that.
@@Arttea Thanks so much for responding! I'll keep my expectations low but it's nice to hear that they've even discussed the possibility. In the past it always seemed like they've shut the idea down entirely.

Black and purple is the entirety of my main toon's identity as my favorite color combos so definitely that amethyst wall of elements is a go-to for me and I hope more to fit within that color scheme. Oh yeah and there's also some Lion imagery, my styles consisting mostly of Daggerfall covenant and Sai Sahan's shoulders so any styling that brings lion imagery would be GOATed, though I don't put my expections too strongly on that one.
Unfortunately, the styling options will be limited to colours for now, but just like ESO's other systems (Companions, Tales of Tribute, Antiquities) we will likely be able to receive more styling options in the future!

Im a pvp sweat too lmao channel abilities are feasible for bombing or ganking. Some of the skills can be used to proc some pretty lethal sets. Just dont want the new skills to break pvp combat.
Hmm my understanding is that styling is a new system that will come with the Gold Road chapter, so if you do not have access to it, you will not be able to use the styling system. I think if it was going to be a base game feature the developers would have highlighted this point or mentioned that styling will "come with Update 42" instead of "come with Gold Road". If I recall correctly, to unlock some skill styles you have to complete quests related to the scribing questline as well.
I could’ve gone to the event but i’m too busy with my life at home so yeah i pre ordered the Gold Road Chapter not so long ago really looking forward to the scribing skills it’s gonna be really cool 👍🏾 i’m excited for everything tbh 😂 you so funny btw ty for the video
I remember when i visited Germany, there was a "coffee shop" that had a weed plant at the front door. It had a little sign that said, "Please dont pick off my branches, I wouldn't pick off your arms." lol
I wouldn't be surprised if they do add the altar as a furnishing, but I imagine that the housing update they've been teasing will be much larger than that. And hmmm I could see the altar going for a similar amount of vouchers as the transmute station!
If you are referring to the glow that persists on your weapons when you have grim focus slotted on a nightblade, someone at the creator-only event did abruptly bring up that they disliked that glow, but the developers did not comment on it. My understanding is that this was a stylistic choice that the developers made not too long ago, so that glow is intentional and will likely not be changed. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of it either, but it is what it is I guess :')
ZOS: Hey our largest instance is PC/NA so lets have our 10 year anniversary event in friggin Amsterdam. LOL Thanks for sharing though Arttea love your content as always.
Every time I watch an Arttea video, I start missing ESO. Probably my favorite MMORPG out there right now but there are just a few things still present that always end up turning me off after a few months. Even if the chapter looks super good, I can't get that thought out of my mind. Such a conundrum. Anyway, thanks for another great video, and an excellent recap for folks like me that don't follow super closely!
I hope that someday the developers will receive information about the problem with body markings for animal races. The fact that applying cosmetics rewrites the texture of the skin - and often it is ugly.
Hey ArtTea! I hope you will make another "where to farm" video for Gold Road, like the Sailenmora one you made for Necrom! Super helpful. Thanks for your videos. P.S. really appreciate that you use actual game art for your covers, not "ai".
Hey there! I’ve been scouting for new places to farm in the new zone and if I indeed find a solid place (or someone in my community does that is willing to share) i’ll definitely make a quick video about it! And absolutely - I despise how generative AI is being used, and you’ll never catch me using that crap.
Honestly this is looking to be a fun chapter. :) I just started adventuring with a new character to 100% find all the lore and the quests in a very methodical lore focused manner so to suffice to say it is going to take me a LONG time to get that achievement. I'm going to enjoy getting it though when I do. :) Can't wait to see the types of skills I can put on my characters and having new visuals to go along with said skills is going to make each character feel unique. :) I'm defiantly the opposite mindset when it comes to the long explody staff skill. But it might be because I'm just imagining someone on a bridge in Cyrodill that casts that skill with a knockback effect and sends a whole Zerg into the watery dephs below. XD
Lmao yeah, kind of interesting how it's the only class that got a penalty through the class mastery script eh? I'm sure it's for balance reasons, but I'd be interested to read the little developer comment about it when the patch notes for U42 drop on Monday.
Looks like Gold road will be the END OF THE ROAD for me on ESO. Endless monetization and now this ridiculous Scribing. I'm checking out in June. Time to move on. It was fun I had a good time, but it's time to do something else.

Did you find any Big Loises while you were in Amsterdam?
Unfortunately not, although I did see a lot of two lips there
what the frick i saw this person at the event whats her name again.. arett.. no.. eritrea?
yeah something like that
Her: "you can't stop me."
Me: *pauses vid* "gotcha."...*unpauses video cause im interested*
I remember when i visited Germany, there was a "coffee shop" that had a weed plant at the front door. It had a little sign that said, "Please dont pick off my branches, I wouldn't pick off your arms." lol
Any info on the "new PVP feature"?
I have to assume the new thing being added to housing will be that scribing altar.
How many vouchers do you think it'll cost?
I wouldn't be surprised if they do add the altar as a furnishing, but I imagine that the housing update they've been teasing will be much larger than that. And hmmm I could see the altar going for a similar amount of vouchers as the transmute station!
Ithalia has been Mew Maxing it seems
Nice.
Man id spend to much time in those coffe shops 😂😂
The coffe shop thats not a cofee shop! My parents came back from amseterdam last month and apparently theres two types there lol!
Lmao yeah! I was like *ooooh coffee shop!* when I saw my first one and then took one look inside and knew I had rolled up to the wrong place
I feel like I'm the only one who actually wants pets to be usable by all classes. X_X
I don't like the idea that pets are only legal for Sorcerers :C
Is there any pvp update at the dlc. I mean any polishint for cyrodill or new pvp instance?
No pvp update in Gold Road unfortunately - that update will be happening in Q4 of this year.
@@Arttea Thank you subscribed
Cant wait to get a wood elf passive to eat people
🤨🤨🤨
YOU KNOW WHO ELSE IS HUGE
:(
did they say they were gonna remove that permanent red glow from my wpns?
If you are referring to the glow that persists on your weapons when you have grim focus slotted on a nightblade, someone at the creator-only event did abruptly bring up that they disliked that glow, but the developers did not comment on it.
My understanding is that this was a stylistic choice that the developers made not too long ago, so that glow is intentional and will likely not be changed. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of it either, but it is what it is I guess :')
ZOS: Hey our largest instance is PC/NA so lets have our 10 year anniversary event in friggin Amsterdam. LOL
Thanks for sharing though Arttea love your content as always.
Everybody is going to scribe the same 3 useful skills in it anyway and the rest will never get used it wont change nothing
I just know I’m gonna get ganked by a khajiit nightblade with all hot pink abilities that spray out hearts smh
Wish they'd making crafting more relevant and actually worth doing outside of making housing items
I hope that someday the developers will receive information about the problem with body markings for animal races. The fact that applying cosmetics rewrites the texture of the skin - and often it is ugly.
Not the cursed tea.
I know you were tryna poison me 😩
More twitch gameplay and neon ponies please!
Captain Arenthia 😉
Fine, I’ll sub.
Thx for info.
One thing I dislike about new zones is with every new one it makes the old OG zones look worse and worse lol
She looks like Meridia 2.0, and Meridia is my favorit Prince... so yeah Im all in for it
how does one say rip to a 5 year old character, ....... then switch to pc?
Neat
Did i miss the part where the styling system is monetized?
XD
Why does tempalr has a penalty on its class mastery tho
I hear enough complaining about the neglect the class suffers as is
Lmao yeah, kind of interesting how it's the only class that got a penalty through the class mastery script eh? I'm sure it's for balance reasons, but I'd be interested to read the little developer comment about it when the patch notes for U42 drop on Monday.
Because on demand 33k armor is way too powerful, I just hope they convert it to something less powerful, with no downside.
i HATE templar class mastery. Increase armor ok, gain ultimate only if below 50% health is already booooring, and you get snared, like... bro.
Looks like Gold road will be the END OF THE ROAD for me on ESO. Endless monetization and now this ridiculous Scribing. I'm checking out in June. Time to move on. It was fun I had a good time, but it's time to do something else.
