I personally think Orion is a lot more beautiful however, and maybe more emotional. Its more of a celebration of life whereas To live is to die is like a funeral
I’ll always remember Orion as the first Metal song that made me tear up. Amazing chord progressions and melodies. Also, Cliff Burton being a frustrated lead guitarist. 🤯💪🏻🤘🏻
Of any band musically really. This is a fucking orchestra, incredibly well composed. Even more insane to think of the time they made this in without the technology we have today. Like I’ve heard this song thousands of times and I still cry when I really listen to it
Hearing this for the first time, 35 years for me, still brings loads of emotion out of me. Now seeing my 10 yr old son air drum to this recently made me tear up ❤️
It’s a great instrumental. The great thing about Metallica’s music is they speak through their instruments and take you on a journey even without vocals. I highly recommend another great instrumental by them is “To live is to die”. I tells a story just through the feel of the music. Hope you enjoy it. ❤️
My two older brothers used to call me “strange” & “unique” because I loved (love) this band, they'd always ask why I liked them so, my answer was simple and always the same... “If you can't hear it, then there's no need for me to explain it to you.” Lead guitarist Kirk Hammett was only one of the many reasons I picked up the guitar... I loved, and I absolutely love the sound(s) one can makes while playing the instrument, you truly become one with it! Your reactions to songs are both sincere and beautiful. Thank you for being you!
Beautiful reaction. Ive probability listened to this song 200 times. Maybe more. I will never, ever tire of it as the magesty of it is simply glorious. Thank you for viewing it with us ❤❤❤
Awesome reaction, nothing better when you can see someone feel the song and not just listen to it, music like this is not meant to be listen to, you just close your eyes and feel the music and let it take you on a journey
Hundred times yes!! When she felt the voice of the guitar in "Orion" then i would love to see her reaction to the desperation, anger and grief which deeply lies and is expressed in the instrumentation of "to live is to die". Her feelings will bloom and her tears will run. For me it is the best of the three famous metallica instrumental tracks
Never in my life have met a human, in person, who felt everything I feel when I hear it. THANK YOU. This is by far by favorite "song" by Metalicalla. Your reaction let's know you will love Metallica S&M. With the San Francisco Orchestra. If you don't know all their songs, you will love them all at the end. Just start with that album. You will be very moved.
I have always loved this song. And i talked about this song and Cliff Burton, with my best friend from childhood on, just few days before he took hes own life. It was three years ago, now i can listen this again. And Fade To Black is another one.
This band is part of my culture from when i was growing up. I was listening to this stuff right when it came out. They have other instrumentals you should see as well. To Live Is To die, Call of Ktulu to name a couple. I feel a strong bond to this music, so to see you first experience, and seeing it make you have feelings, brings tears to my eyes too. I look forward to more like this. ; ) I approve. 👍👍👋
For me this song means EVERYTHING- An extremely powerful & emotional song. It takes you on a journey- on a roller coaster ride through time and space- memories from the past- good times, more simple times, friends long gone, places you’ve visited- childhood-a trip through time- and your brought back to our time near the end with the original opening and message “your alive for a reason- there is much to do-keep on keeping ON” Your reaction is absolutely spot on, and I completely understand. Just beautiful. 😌🙏🏼
When this album came out I used to play it till the tape started having dead spots because I would rewind it over and over and over for this song. Haha before CDs. I was in 8th grade. Such a great decade of metal
All 49 year old males tear up to Orion, listening to this on my Sony walk man, blowing up several speakers and my eardrums, rockin out in your own world was Metallica back then, Orion will forever be timeless. Cheers and thank you.
Had this played as the wedding party was being introduced at our wedding. I got a lot of compliments about it. From the coolest people there, naturally 😎
la verdad que hermosa y sincera reacción ! en mayor o menor medida nos pasó creo a todos al escucharla la primera vez ! obra maestra de METALLICA ! Saludos desde ARGENTINA 👍👍👍👍
The riff after 4 min always makes me hold my breath is so good, I swear. I agree with you about the guitar doing the vocals so beautiful. Makes my heart beat faster
It makes my soul fly!! The fade in at the beginning and the fade out at the end, give one the impression that it has no beginning and no end. It's eternal.
The beautiful thing about Metallica's instrumentals is that you can interpret the meaning of the song in any way you want. The songs take you on a journey, but where that journey leads is up to you. There are two other amazing instrumentals on the albums before and after this one. The first is The Call Of Ktulu and the other is To Live Is To Die, and both are just as good as this one.
Such an amazing song. Unforgiven would be a good Metallica song to listen to, and there is a part 2 and part 3 in later albums. If you want tmore instrumentals from Metallica, The Call of the Kutulu is great, off the Ride the Lightning album.
That was my first Metallica song that I heard. That was 1986. Be a Metallica fan by that point. And yes, I sometimes cry to that song too. Thanks for your impression and reaction. That was great. Have a good time.
To be honest Metallica's Orion off their undisputed thrash metal album Master Of Puppets is classic instrumental song ever written. At the same time it was Cliff Burton's last album with Metallica when tragic struck and listening to this song was emotional for me too.
I love the instrumental tracks like this (especially this one). it is ALL about the music & how it makes YOU feel. Without any lyrical interference or guidance pushing you to an emotional response the artist wants to instill. it is ONLY about you. Great track. Great reaction.
Thanks for your video, it’s pretty intresting and it made me see that i’m not the only one who feel this song as deep. The middle break part always makes me cry too. It’s so deep, so powerfull, sad and joyful at the same time … it has so much things to say in it ! And you really express it in your video. A big thank :)
Cliff's classical experience really shines in this piece. Long before S&M, i used to daydream about what it would be like hearing an orchestra playing this and Disney making a "Fantasia" style video for it.
Metallica were so good in the 80's at coming up with this sort of art, they are masterpieces and Cliff Burton there bassist who died in a tour bus accident in 86 was a huge inspiration behind these pieces of music, beautiful reaction was great to see how the music moved you even though there were no words, that is what Metallica can do, take you to a place deep down and play on your emotions, especially there early stuff
EMPRESS, yes the way you described the song at the end was perfect but I have to say that your reaction was an experience for me and it was so beautiful
Your reaction is beautiful to behold. ♥ Maybe it's my age, jaded, very few songs ever managed to make me go through the range of emotions you went through. Thank you for experiencing this through you. As for another song, sadly I'm not that big a Metallica fan to recommend anything you haven't heard before.
Loved your reaction to my favorite Metallica Instrumental. You started getting emotional at my favorite part of the song. You said it and I like to say great music you love is something you just don't listen to but it's something you experience. It elicits an emotional response. As it did with you. Check a couple more Metallica Instrumental songs - The Call of Ktulu and To Live is To Die.
"To live is to Die" is a tear jerker, if you know the backstory of Cliff and his passing.
for sure. "Nutshell" By Alice In Chains has a very similar feeling.
I personally think Orion is a lot more beautiful however, and maybe more emotional. Its more of a celebration of life whereas To live is to die is like a funeral
@@oharryc it was played at Cliff's funeral
I was going to say the same. If you wanna feel say, put that track on :)
Beautiful reaction! This is a powerful song. I'm sure most of us shed a tear with you 😂💙
I’ll always remember Orion as the first Metal song that made me tear up. Amazing chord progressions and melodies. Also, Cliff Burton being a frustrated lead guitarist. 🤯💪🏻🤘🏻
@Jacob Andersson
His approach to Orion is very “un-bassist”. Cliff’s attack is more like a guitarist here, as if that was his true calling.
@@bigbrutalbassbeer410 You could also say that he innovated and expanded the use of bass guitar. Frustration was not a part of his vocabulary.

No, its just a figure of speech.

To me, this song is the high-water mark of Metallica. I get goosebumps every time.
The whole album is.

Yes, this and Call of Ktulu are my perennials. I love their instrumentals.
Hearing this for the first time, 35 years for me, still brings loads of emotion out of me. Now seeing my 10 yr old son air drum to this recently made me tear up ❤️
I understand your reaction. Orion speaks to me, a beautiful story of death, rebirth and the struggle of life.

Instrumental is indeed the right word.
Just look what Cliff's part at 9:09 does to people.. It is such a masterpiece, Cliff was a legend ❤️
Me suscribo porque alguien que reacciona así al "Orion" se lo merece 🤘🤘😈😈
My two older brothers used to call me “strange” & “unique” because I loved (love) this band, they'd always ask why I liked them so, my answer was simple and always the same... “If you can't hear it, then there's no need for me to explain it to you.”

Just like any classical piece would be.

Don't forget about Suicide and Redemption on Death Magnetic, not my favorite of Metallica's instrumentals, but still great none the less!
I absolutely love the emotions this instrumental pulls out of people. It gets me too! Cheers!
This song really showcased their musical talent!!!! Love these guy’s 🥰! Your smile makes a happy beginning for the day. 😁
