LYRICS:
Please use this song in your commercial
I need the money, so please use this to sell something
Please use this song in your commercial
A fast food franchise, office supplies,
A brand new hair dye, a dating website,
A suicide hotline, a new way to exercise,
A preview for a movie that is coming out in July,
A political campaign, a new video game,
A medication that you didn't know you should be taking
Any product any service this is the right song,
Your target audience will be singing and dancing along
Please use this song in your commercial
I need the exposure, my house is in foreclosure
So please use this song in your commercial
Oh to have a song in a national campaign
Millions would hear my song and they would say
"Have you seen that commercial?
You know the one about that thing?
The song playing in the background is really great!"
A credit card company, join the military,
A new way to make yourself less hairy,
Life insurance, medical insurance,
Cat insurance, insurance insurance,
Financial institution, the one that took my house,
If you use this song maybe we can work something out
Any product any service this is the right song,
Your target audience will be singing and dancing along
Please use this song in your commercial
The music industry's dying, but consumerism is thriving
So please use this song in your commercial - Комедії
Who Here in 2024🎉?
Angry at how brilliant this is. Damn.
it's almost scientific... :/
hey Jack, your here to? ;)
I know right, it's great!
jaaaaaaaack
omg Jack, stop using other channels to boost your own
It's disgusting how insanely catchy this song is, haha.
Not really most of his songs are awesome he's a comedy performer but it can still be good music
The song is awful
@@prpwnage9296 Explain
@@hedgehogthesonic3181 it just grates on me
@@prpwnage9296 tbh this is probably good. this is drawing attention to the artisticly bankrupt music created just to gain radio play and make money.
finding this grating could mean you dont like phoned-in music.
The golden times of youtube are (probably) over. But this guy was one of the big great ones who made the platform so fcking great. It was people doing this for fun and not for the money. He hasnt even placed ads before the videos ❤
Agreed
I miss the old days :(
Yeah man I am back here just damn 15 years went by this fast... f*ck me....
I remember when his songs were on his website before UA-cam became what it is
He's one of the best! 👌 Been watching him since 2 girls 1 cup song and Show me your genit@ls! 🤣
If I hear this song in an actual commercial, I am absolutely going to buy whatever crap they are trying to sell me!
Me too, I hope it's for something I want.
Cullen Newsom i hope they use for whatever im hungry for right at that time. I didnt even know i was hungry for some KCF
He really does need the money after the production value on this. holy heck
I'd imagine he'll be doing fine seeing as he has all his TV monies from The League.
*****
You for get about all the money he makes from these youtube videos. There's a reason the more famous people become on Yt the high their production values go. It's because they make that money and way more back.
***** all that lucrative fxx money.
I can’t even imagine how long this took.
Firs you gotta hire a band for the background music, singers for backing vocals, a producer to mix the song, a camera and lighting crew, lets not forget about all of the actors, locations and sound stages, and wardrobe for the actors, just so much stuff I can’t even wrap my head around it. I know this is common for films and tv, but seeing where Jon started, it’s really cool to see. Big props to everyone, so proud of Jon, seeing how far he’s come, etc.
Not to mention all the graphic designs and costumes for the different "generic brands".
All the folks who helped make it are in the description
You and I both
The actors can bring some clothing
This is legitimately a really catchy song lol
Right !!!
Rather like how "Pop 101" by Marianas Trench was crushing it at being the very thing it was satirizing!
that's kind of the point
It's got the Pachelbel chords just like Radio-Friendly Song. Literally the catchiest way to write music for some reason.
Jon Jafari and Jon Lajoe need to make a song together.
2 Jons, One Song.
That can't physically happen because if it did, everyone's heads that heard it would implode.
Add Jon Anderson from YES.
The amount of work put into this video is unbelievable.
Because its fucking wack... that is what I cant believe...
I expect better from Jon...

Jon made a video? YAY!
The production quality of his songs these days is incredible.
not considering the amount of money he has these days
Still, the quality isn't the same.
Ludwig Mascarenhas Exactly. You can't spell commercialism without vagina.
I'm disappointed at how many people are belittling this gentleman in their comments like he is not supposed to be this talented unless he is Robert DeNiro or somebody super famous. WTF?
He is clearly professional in what he does. Stop downplaying people, and acting so surprised at what they do. It reeks of jealousy and a lack of respect. Jon Lajoie is excellent and has great videos. End of story.
Disappointed I haven't seen this in the Super Bowl yet
Alright Bet if one day I get a company and 6 million dollars I’ll contact him and use it
I actually believe using this song could boost sales for particular companies.
Nice try, secretly Jon Lajoie,
Jon has really risen up. I remember watching his earlier vids and asking why he wasn't famous yet. He's really gotten a lot done
Taco
Not only is he famous... he is very *super famous*, and a lot of people know he exists!
And you are not so are shit
xXxluigi1122xXx He is genius lol
xXxluigi1122xXx He used to be a baby. It's hard to rise out of that.
The fact that this has been out for 7 years and is only at 5.4M views is terrible. This deserves all the views.

Rhyming exposure with foreclosure is absolutely genius 👌
Yo you have no idea how excited I got seeing a JonLajoie video in my inbox. GOD LEVEL.
You sir, have great taste.
U sing good :D
I was thinking the same thing. It's been too long.
Make another Swag Song, dammit!
Grace Hilger
No he doesn't. He's auto tuning for a reason lol.
I better hear this song in a commercial soon!
Is it weird I’m still singing this song in 2024 not for the irony and parody but just how good it is!
Absolute best and most brilliant line:
The music industry's dying,
But consumerism is thriving.
I weep for our future, but at least Mr. Lajoie brings some laughs to cut the pain.
"ART IS DEAD"
~Some artists in 500 B.C, probably.
That's why he is here
I will be laughing when this actually shows up in a commercial.
Oh dear, the irony would flip upside down and crumble into a supermassive black hole and devoure the entire universe! D:
I love how Jon could be a typical musician if he wanted to, but he instead likes to be outside of the box.
***** yes
yeah Jon could probably rock the charts if he wanted to
Yeah I was thinking that right away the guy has a great voice and the tune and everything to the song is beyond catchy.
This song should be used in a commercial
this song is still stuck in my head after that wild 6 years
Me too. Still listen to this.
@@Rudis_Garage Bitches, I'm here from Oct 2022 and it's STILL IN MY HEAD!
The irony of the song is that this video looks like it has pretty good production value. Must have cost a lot of money.
GEE JON, MAYBE THAT'S WHY YOU'RE LOSING YOUR HOUSE?!
Sometimes quality over quantity is worh it. Mr. LaJoie you just keep getting funnier, and this song has an amazing melody. :D
The song playing in the background of this commercial is really great
This is a really great song. But I wonder how many people took the time to really give it an introspective. The video reflects the song, which is summed up by the final lines; about how the music industry is dying, but commercialism only grows stronger day by day.
But the "character" singing the song mentions about how he needs money and lost his house. So it's also a statement about the economy. He's pleading with corporations to use the song for any sort of ad campaign. So there is a necessity for cash. Let's put a pin in that and save it for a moment.
Throughout the video, as the various company mascots begin to form a dance party around the band, we see more of the "Suicidal Hotline" guy. At first glance, it would seem a little out of place. Sure, one could argue late night television tends to show those sorts of commercials, but all of the other campaigns are common and happy-go-lucky.
So bringing back the pinned concept from before, the "Suicidal Hotline" guy represents, I think, the "singer's" (obviously not Jon Lajoie, but the character he's portraying in the song's), depression and desperation. The idea is "If I can't make the money, if I don't make it. I might as well kill myself." I'm not asking anyone to support that notion or agree with it, but it's very clear that's what the 'character' is feeling.
But even if one were to put all of their figurative eggs in one figurative basket, and end it all if things don't work out, the world will keep spinning. Life goes on with or without you. And the companies that you're begging to support you or even just pay attention, will likely just use your death to make themselves even more money. And that's why after the guy shoots himself, you've got "Flo" standing over his corpse selling life insurance.
Despite this being intended as a comedy track, I feel like there's enough irony and poignant commentary to make this a legitimate criticism of the music industry, commercialism, and Hollywood. I mean there's a whole wealth of concepts I have not even touched on such as the chords and drum beats used to play the song.
This song is absolutely genius. As another commentator said below, I can not even fathom how there are any dislikes to this song. The only valid reasoning would be if people saw through the upbeat tempo and saw the hopelessness and pointlessness of a life in the industry. Viewers should remember that Likes and Dislikes are for quality and concept, not simply how it made you feel emotionally.
Bravo, Jon. Bravo.
I tried to give my girlfriend an introspective once, she made me sleep on the couch for a week.
While it's a great song, the fact that this song was released on UA-cam shows that the industry has changed. The internet basically gave everyone access to pick and choose what they wanted, and you know what? People want that ability more than anything else. So from napster grew Spotify and Pandora, and while those companies pay they artists, they pay them millionths or thousandths of a cent per play, again, set by the new market. People know they can still get it for free but, hey, I'll pay out of a little guilt I feel for basically stealing so here's some money and now everyone is happy, supposedly.Beyond that, most of the money comes from ads, and given the actual success rates of online ads, it's not surprising that the advertising doesn't pay as much per play as they used to. People still buy CD's and Vinyl is making a resurgence, but it's too late. Most of the record stores (except for a few niche, popular ones) disappeared, and ticket sales will always be good, if the band is good.
Now. That all being said, in order for an industry to be 'dying' it has to actually be failing, and it's not. It could easily be argued that the music industry exploded with the advent of UA-cam and MySpace, but we are talking about local bands, and independents thriving, not necessarily big name labels (though most do through their stars anyway). What's happening is that some artists are getting paid less, and really, that's ok. Because overall music is growing and open to more of an audience than ever before as well.
Edit: One last note. Merch sales can now be totally done by the band independently if they need/want, and take the middleman producer out - providing more funds to the band.
While I agree with you on some points, the music industry is not dying. It is changing. Instead of CDs and Records it's now mp3's. Just how the media is not dying it is just changing, from TV to Internet.
>Came down to see if anyone else saw the suicide guy and noticed him appearing throughout the video where he didn't belong.
>Read that
>Said, "OOOOOOOHHHHHH. THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE NOW."
>Realized you were my hero.
aaah, interesting! that idea's supported by the "drugs you didn't know you should be taking", showing that perhaps depression is more prevalent because of the rampant commercialism, perhaps linking it in to mass shooting victims
very interesting ideas!
To all the people claiming they want the "old jon" back, he did this same sort of theme with "Pop Song". go look it up! it was just as epic as this one is. I love all of his stuff!
Actually, NOFX did this theme first with "Please play this song on the radio". But that song WAS tongue-in-cheek.. not to say NOFX didn't sell out too in the end.
Jon's just in a mid-life crisis and took the easy way out to manipulate the masses. It's called "the Henery Winkler syndrome". One day you're cool daddy-o Arthur Fonzarelli, the next your Mr. Winkler making children's books for your 3 kids.
Val Valiant Five how did jon sell out?
Val Valiant Five
that song is super old, and sounds nothing like this one.... oO he doesnt seem to be going through a midlife crisis - and frankly, nor has wrinkler ever seemed like that either.
Val Valiant Five You're talking out your ass and nobody is buying it.
Cheers to you too!
~May the world be your oyster and may that oyster taste dahm good.
Honestly one of my favorite songs.. Jon is a genius
Pure Genius. I wish you were still as active and popular as you used to be. Forever Classic and memorable. John Lajoie.
can't wait for the Hilarious Alcoholics trilogy- will one of the 3 friends be quirky?
I'm sure atleast one will turn out to be the unlikely party animal when intoxicated
I like this, a lot, but gotta lose the suicide part, sorry. Fit something else in there.
Chris Jeanes lol yeah because Jon will listen to you and change his music based on your butthurt opinion.
D20MC Yeah I figured that too. not meaning hurt at all
8 years later and I'm realizing who this comment is coming from holy-
Watching video: wow this is quite calm for his video's :D
Last 10 seconds: and we're back :D
This is actually better than most pop songs :D
that's what's cool with his song parodies, if you don't mind the lyrics they're good songs (weather it be pop, rap...)
Pop Song is actually very good.
Darth Zed
i'm not a fan of this style, but it is also well made technically speaking (and the lyrics of course)
even the lyrics are genius though
Have u heard of Jacob Saggytits?
I just got an idea! 50 different companies should chip in and buy a 4 minute ad slot in the super bowl for this video
50 different companies should buy a full ad each with this song in it and make it play all the damn time.
Would be better than the latest halftime show
U had tha same I deal 3 years before me
the ending made this video feel more like Lajoie.
yeah, the first part was too nice and "innocent" that just isn't him...
This song is so good it makes me angry.. Well Done.. Absolutely Amazing!
As a person working in the "music for commercials" business, I hereby confirm that this song is an indisputable masterpiece.
And now you have the "Catchy Song" in the Lego Movie 2. You made it 😂
If I had a commercial that needed a song, this would be my FIRST choice!
IKR. Balls to the wall epic :D
"I need exposure my house is in foreclosure..." Great line.
"The industry is dying but consumerism is thriving" exactly
This guy is an inspiration to babies all over the world (or at least in Canada and The States).
People ask who my favourite UA-camr is. Let's just say, there is nobody that touches Jon Lajoie's content. Nobody. In many ways, he inspired me to start making videos almost 5 years ago.

Lil Dicky is pretty similar! But I get what you mean.
Hey There Pyro :)
I was Jon's fourth subscriber. The first video of his I saw was 'Pointless Profanity', and was instantly hooked. Around a year later I was a youtube guest Editor for December of 2008, and Featured Jon on the front page (Friends with God), he exploded soon after.

what would be really dope is if a company actually used the chorus in their commercial and changed the words to

Jokes on you, life insurance won't pay for a suicide
yes they will.. in the US they will as long as you took out your policy at least 2 years before the suicide.. they figure nobody PLANS to take out life insurance then wait 2 years to do it.. but if you want to play the long game they'll pay
xD damn that's weirdly explained :DD

The amazing thing about Jon Lajoie is that he could turn a totally commercial musician. He has a great voice and a band, plus his Hip Hop stuff cannot be beat lol..
