    PERFECT, When I was 4-5 years old my Dads buddy had a 66 Nova Brand New and they built a Drag Racer Almost exactly like this one. I believe it was even the Same color. My Dad was one of his Group of Friends with a Garage. So his buddy's brought their cars to our house a lot. I was bitten by the bug early on. They fired that Chevy 2 up and the Down spouts fell off the house and the windows where Rattling. I was in love. My Pop had a lot of Nice old Chevys and Drag Raced OUR FAMILY 1966 biscayne 283 -4 speed on the Weekends. That man Could Shift a Car!!! And come off the line like a Pro. I Remember hanging on the Chain link fence at Lapeer Drag Strip in Michigan watching him. Thanks for this build it brings Back Good Memories. I lost him 4 years ago.

    Why can't more Hot rod TV shows be like this?? No BS or foolish drama. Just cool cars being built...the right way...and in realistic time frames.
    Fantastic project from start to finish. Black steel rims on back are super cool.

    If I used the Jerico Tranny 1st gear would be 2.36, 2nd gear- 1.88, 3rd gear 1.53, 4th gear 1.17 and 5th gear 1.00... That's what I run in my Pro Comp. If I used the Muncie, 1st gear is 2.20, 2nd gear is 1.64, 3rd gear is 128, and 4th gear is 1.00. as always. The M - 21 Muncie is the best ,spaced out, close ratio transmission that they ever made. Sometimes with the Jerico I've had to experiment with different gears many time to feel like the gears feel all the same while I'm shifting. Process of elimination, but it works. The ones that I gave you are the closest to the muncie feel except the 1.17 4th gear which keeps me pulling along. Good Day Sirs.

    after breaking the upper A frame in my chevelle i took the straight axle out of a old dodge pick up of my dad's and worked it in under my chevelle, also giving way more fredom to modify the frame when later in the next year spring when i dropped the hemi into it. Up side was i no longer had to carry to diffrent rim styles as i all ready had a ford 9 inch front load diff in it on leafsone alternation i done was i used leaf springs from a Datsun pick up on the front axle wanting the shorter length spring than the dodge had. as well as the datsun springs had a softer arch because i did not want the stance or a air plane in take off mode as i call it, back in my drag racing days things were alot diffrent rules for modified street if had a roll cage and brakes and no steering peices held with bailing wire was about all you needed to build some thing to go faster than the guy beside you. now the as i callem woosies pout if some one is smarter to know how to modifie things like valves crannks ect ect to make hidden inside mods to pound out more ponies. in my eyes drag racing is how to build more power more speed to beat your oponant in the same bore bracket and flat estimated et brackets

      Look at Mike Finnegan's Blasphemi, he has driven that thing 1000s of miles with no problems and if you built one and drag raced it, you'd definitely get into it, I promise you that

    A lot of these UA-camrs getting paid for View, seem to get a lot of pride out of opening packages and bolting stuff on ,we never had a UA-cam sugar daddy paying the bills ,we had to go to the junk yards or fabricate our own parts and that's where a lot of the fun was . I'm not hating I'm just pointing that out.

      You might like halfass customs here on youtube. He makes and fabs and uses a lot of used parts.

    Is this impressive?...hard to say. Without prices, who knows...My guess is $50K in this sled...is that impressive?...NOPE. What was the cost of the car to begin with...superclean and probably worth a few bucks.

    • @kayleb1109
      @kayleb1109 4 роки тому +1

      Impressive that you can make this with almost purely bolt on parts and considering the condition and if it was a numbers matching engine, you could be looking at a reasonably decent price tag on the nova, money isn't everything, you see guys build gassers for less than $10k and have insane amounts of fun at the drags and on the street

    Ruined a perfectly beautiful car. All it needs is more horse 🐎 power and the right set of tires and rims. I owned a 1967 with the two speed six banger. It was a beautiful car 🚙 but I was young and could not afford to build it up the way I really really wanted two . I was a in the 11 graders in high school. That was way back in 1975. It was a shower not a goer .

    Yeah it's cool but don't get your hopes up finding this clean of a car to build. Like nothing in the real world and not on a show goes together like this. You will spend an hour fighting a bolt and hating life for a while.
