I was looking for this comment, and from Trent of all UA-camrs, and, ofc, travelers, what a compliment. It was through Trent’s channel that I found yours, you both have phenomenal exploration channel content.
@TrentTheTraveler Thanks again for watching, Trent! Still a big fan of your content 🎬 While it would be nice if it could be faster, I'm having steady growth one adventure at a time 🏕️ I'm in it for the long run and the love of exploring 😉
I like your content, I think over 7k subscribers is very good especially in what appears to be less than a year of channels existence. I’ve been at it a lot longer and haven’t hit 1k yet 😂. Of course I’m not consistent anymore either. I think you are doing great and you will “blow up” soon.
Wes you really have a cool thing going with your channel. Me and my wife ran across you not too long ago here on UA-cam and we are hooked on your videos. It's nice to find a really kind hearted person that a family can enjoy. Thankyou Wes. 😊😊😊
Thanks Josh, so glad you and your fam are enjoying! I definitely try to keep my videos family friendly and interesting, so glad you can appreciate it 😊
7:17 oh my god I thought that was a human face!!! Glad you made it out safe I feel like with the amount of foot traffic there l, a bit of luck was involved with this one
@WesWherever pretty similar do what you do or what someone would "normally" eat I guess XD pack up a nice big cooler and some dry goods. He had a nice two burner Coleman stove and he'd normally make coffee or heat water up on the smaller tripod stove like you use. He's always been outdoorsy. He had a job during college as a white water rafting guide, then spent 20 years in the air force. He'd often take us out for day trips on the weekend, and for a few bigger camping trips throughout the year. When I was a preteen he got into archery, so a lot of camping trips are him going out to participate in a competition. He's in his early sixties now and still goes out because he enjoys it, and because he wants to stay in shape so he can pack up and haul out meat during hunting season. I dont like to tent camp much anymore, but I love daytrips. Anyway, continue to stay safe out there, you go to some interesting places!
I particularly love the cooking / snack ideals in each video. I’m glad to have met your mom, which led me to your channel. She’s an awesome woman, whom raised an incredible man.
I love camping off grid or at a campground or even my moms yard you are courageous to camp in these places I will watch and pray your safe traveling and sleeping ya make it to Minnesota I will help ya find a place or let ya use my backyard and fire pit
Thanks, Jeremy!! Yeah these places can definitely be pretty spooky and unconventional, but I do love trying new things and keeping it interesting! 🏕️ Going to try and do an episode in each state on my way back to the west coast. When you see a video in Wisconsin, you'll know I am close 😉
So glad I’ve discovered your channel. Sending you support from England 🏴 it’s crazy you don’t have more views and subs 😮you’re content is so good, keep it up - I’m hooked 😎
i LOVE the fact that you live it up a little with what food you bring with you to these places. I mean- perogies with carnalized onions crisped up with a torch (brilliant idea btw)! I binged almost all your videos today. They're relaxing and super fun. Great job with maintaining a certain vibe from the beginning. Love 'em.
The minecraft noises get me every time. Native to PA here and love seeing the state get some love. Often times overlooked, but there are so many random little nooks and crannies that are full of interesting bits and bobs. If ever you find yourself back for whatever reason, scope out some of the abandoned rail lines. One of my favorites has been converted into a rail trail, Columbia Reading line specifically. Also, I absolutely love pierogies and those looked delicious.
That meal looked so good, and loved that shout out. Wes, always so kind and mindful! (Watching this for like the 4 time haha, just love the vibe of all of your content, can watch it all on loop. Cheers Wes!
So glad like them! 😊 For the bare minimum essentials to start out, you'll want a tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag & pillow. Other gear I would consider optional would be a camp chair/table, portable stove, lighting options like a headlamp/lantern, a knife/multitool, etc. You can find most of these pretty easily at Walmart or any outdoors store. I would recommend buying more affordable budget gear to start out if you're unsure how much you'll enjoy camping or how often you'll get to go. Hope you enjoy getting out there!! 🌲
Great stuff again Wes I would’ve had a tough time sleeping there 2 ! at least you had the high ground and I’m guessing if anything large try to climb up there you would’ve heard it especially when you’re senses are on alert for anything. The lightning bugs must’ve been very cool to see probably gave me a little comfort at least get some sleep. I have slept with mice in unclosed area in Maine little cabin it makes for a long night with mice running around by u head ! Look forward to your next adventure be safe out there, my friend 👍🐆🐆😎
Glad you enjoyed this one! Yeah I tried to be strategic sleeping all the way up top - only one way in and out, so I would have heard them 👂 True, the lightning bugs were pretty calming to see, but could not overcome the power of the mice 😂😂 I will make sure to stay safe 👍 Thanks again for watching!!
That looked and sounded proper creepy, good job for sticking it out! I really like the looks of your cot, is it hard to setup? I took and old one to a festival and it weighed a ton and was a nightmare to put together.
It was probably my creepiest adventure for sure!! The cot is really lightweight (2.66lb/1206g) and relatively easy to set up. The only tricky part is when putting the spanner bar base pieces on, you have to use your bodyweight and slightly bend them into place (they are what keep the cot fabric taut). I found it easy after doing it a few times and getting the feel for it. I definitely recommend it though! I have links to all my gear, including the cot, in the description 😉
SO COOL!!!!!!! I've been there for a walk-around about 5 years ago and wondered if I could do a night or 2 camp there about 4 years ago during lock-down. Thank you for the recon' and fun video!!! Now, I need to get some time off! I live about 2 hours from there!!!!!
Glad you are carrying on the tradition... I would love to try some 😋 I do have my great grandmother's recipe, I really should try making them sometime! 🥟
❤😊 hey Wes I absolutely have been binge watching your adventures on the little islands, kayaking , bridge camping abandoned highway camping, You give me the wants to go on these adventures I would love to go kayaking with you I've never done it You're amazing continuing your travels safe travels was
Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoy all the different types of locations 😊 So happy that the vids inspire you to want to get out there and explore 🏕️ Hope it feels like you're right there with me on the adventure. You should definitely try to kayak if you ever get the chance! I would recommend a rental or a cheap inflatable kayak from Amazon/Walmart (and life jacket). My first kayak that got me into it was around $60 and I had a ton of adventures with it 🛶 I will stay safe, thanks for watching!!
Funny note about mulberries - there was a tree on my school campus when I was little and the berries would fall and ferment and squirrels would eat them and get drunk and behave as you might expect a drunk squirrel to lol
That's so good to hear Beckett, inspiring people to get out there and enjoy nature is really one of my goals!! Hope you enjoy it out there 🌲 Thanks again for watching bro!
As a young child I remember traveling on that road. It's fascinating to see it now. I'm in my 70s and love your explorations. You are very brave and we benefit. Thanks!
Really enjoying the contet man! If you're still looking for places in PA to check out, I know of an abandoned slaughterhouse outisde of Scranton. Let me know if you're interested and I can provide more details!
I'm a new subscriber.I love your adventures. When i saw you in the East River NYC, NJ And camping in that old bridge in the gap off 80. LOL thats all my old stomping grounds. I now live in northern Maine in the Baxter State Park area. If your ever up this way give me a shout. Plenty of adventure and things to see. I own 160 acres of land your welcome to camp on even an off grid cabin nobody is using.Use it as a base camp.. Because there are many places to go up here. Anyway, keep up the good work with these videos. I really enjoy them!!!
Hi Harry, so glad you are enjoying the adventures! Your old stomping grounds really have so much to offer in a relatively close area... really been enjoying that about the Northeast. I am making my way through Connecticut now and plan to have at least one adventure per state. 160 acres... that is sweet, and I do plan to make it up to Maine! I will definitely reach out if I make it up to your neck of the woods, really appreciate your kind offer 🙏 Hope you continue to enjoy the future videos! 🏕️
You are so brave and adventurous you scare me some of the places you visit doesn’t look very friendly or they are very lonely but I do enjoy your content. Good luck in all you adventures! And please take care! 💕
Glad you are enjoying 😊 I really find these places fascinating even if they are a bit spooky. I do try to switch it up and visit all different types of locations though - should have another fun island adventure coming out next week 😉 Thanks for watching again, appreciate your support!
Glad I ran across your channel. It just popped up. Maybe it’s becusse I watch camping with Steve kinda religiously. Be safe bro looks like your doin some wild adventures. Subbed Forsure & cheers with a non alcoholic beer from ca.
I've made it through all your videos in short time and I'm really loving the content. Your videography is great and I love the sunrise timelapses and morning sleep ratings, haha. The blend of GoPro/360 cam/drone/timeplapse shots are so perfect, too. You do an impressive job of capturing things like your boat launches and kayaking that blends your perspective with the "context" shots from the 360. Very relaxing and interesting to watch. Your intro/outro music gets me every time, too, reminds me of a Mac Dre beat, which feels very fitting with all your videos around the Bay!
I would need a covered net with a cover to camp in there, too many bugs and birds for this old Girl Scout camper and leader, would rather sleep in the woods than in there, you are so brave.
Yeah I quickly realized it was a mistake to leaving my tent at home! Glad it still worked out okay 🙏 So cool to have a scout leader watching, hope you can appreciate the vids would love any wisdom you can offer!
@@WesWherever I slept with snakes, alligators and spiders the size of my hand in Florida, but had a tent or little screened placed there, always carry some kind of screen little tent, I must all the birds creeped me out most. Lol
Yeah the acoustics in there were otherworldly!! And not knowing if I was alone there added some creepiness 😬 I did the halo chant in there but thought it was a little too cringe to put in the video lol
That's really kind!! Still feel imposter syndrome about making videos... I am merely a camping-enjoyer who decided to start posting to UA-cam 🏕️💙 Glad you have been enjoying!!
@@WesWherever you seriously make great content. You have professional level filming, audio and really smooth transitions. Keep it up man, your content is gold, don’t ever doubt your skills!
Finally I was able to watch this! I love your videos 🥰 That place was really cool and scary at same time, just like your abandoned bridge video. I liked this one better though, and I'm glad you are safe 😊 Good thing you had a bug net 👍 I bet the fireflies looked magical. Your dinner looked so yummy too! My Grandmother used to use fresh dill on many of her cabbage dishes, I always loved that. Stay safe! 🙏 I can't wait until you post your next video! ❤
Glad you ended up enjoying it!! It was definitely an interesting combination of spectacular and spooky haha. Dill adds such a nice touch to so many dishes, your grandmother definitely knew what she was doing 💙 Thanks for watching again and being so supportive and encouraging, Suzanne!! I will make sure to stay safe! 👍👍 Next vid will be an island adventure, which I know you really enjoy 😉
Appreciate that Amy, so glad you're enjoying the adventures (even the spookiness 😜) So good to hear that you like outros! I know a lot of people leave before getting to the end, but I still like to make the endings really fun and wrap up things up as best as I can. Thanks so much for watching!!
Just found your channel yesterday, your videos are so charming and I love learning about new secluded areas in the bay area. I wish your videos were longer and I wish you success with your channel!
Thanks, so glad you have been enjoying the adventures!! Even though I'm having a ton of fun on this road trip at the moment, I do miss the bay. Looking forward to getting back there... feels like infinite places/ideas to explore around the bay! 🌊🏕️
Hiya, Algorithm just showed me your vid, I watched it all ofc. Stunning location, am a bit surprised that the Petrol Heads haven't claimed the place as their own, doing a quarter mile run through a Tunnel like that with suped up cars would surely be the point! Especially with no Cops about, got to be better than an intersection take over. But really what a sweet location, super quiet with only the odd local taking a quick trip through the tunnel, I bet he loved the silence :) For mice and other noisy critters have you tried leaving them a 1/4 of an Oatmeal bar or Flapjack in a far corner? When I saw that road leading to the Tunnel, all I could think of was all the camping opportunities in the woods either side of the road. Wish you well Sir, hell of an epic adventure ahead of you :)
True, it would be such a cool spot for drag races!! On my way out the next day, I did see 4 bikers and a dad walking through with a stroller, so definitely seems like people like to make use of this tunnel. That's a good idea about leaving some food for the mice. If I could give them enough to get full and not want to come search near me, that would really work out! Thanks so much for watching 😊
There are actually 2 tunnels there but there isn’t road access to them. On one end they took out a bridge and the Turnpike Commission uses the other end and it’s gated and meets up with the new road just passed the service plaza east of Breezewood. There is another abandoned tunnel west of Somerset that was turned into a wind tunnel and used by Indycar and F1 teams.
Hey there, I'm from PA, and love any sort of Urbex work. Since you mention that we could help "request" or make note of locations you should travel to see, I'd say definitely checkout Concrete City or Yellowdog village. Concrete city is by Nanticoke, PA, and is publicly accessible and is safe to travel and visit. Lots of good places though to set up camp. Yellowdog village on the other hand is located out towards Pittsburgh, and may be a little bit less public, but is rather cool. It's a small neighborhood that went abandoned in 2011. Most of the houses are still somewhat furnished. Love the content regardless!
I would never be able to fall asleep in a place like that. Any noise and I'd be freaking out. Salute to you for this.
The berries you are picking from the tree are Mulberries.... The tree is a Mulberry Tree.. 100% edible, Thank you for taking us along with you on another amazing camping trip...looking forward to your next adventure! Be safe!!!
They were delicious! Glad you could come along, and glad you enjoyed 😊 Thanks for watching, Dom, and I will make sure to stay safe! 👍👍
100% correct 👍

Thanks man, you are always welcome to come along!!
@WesWherever your trip to the Island in the East River islet would have been rough with friends!
True, wouldn't have been much room for many people!
I think that's the turnpike and tunnels that Post10 has featured a number of times in his videos. good camping spot :-)
I rode through one of those tunnels years ago. Very creepy but cool to see. Wish there was some maintenace done to prevent further deterioration.
Thats a pretty gourmet meal as far as camping goes XD my dad would love you. He loves cooking while camping
Right?! It was soooo good 😋 I would imagine your dad has some cool camping meals, seems like camp cooks tend to get really creative 🧠

Your intro/outro music gets me every time, too, reminds me of a Mac Dre beat, which feels very fitting with all your videos around the Bay!
Glad you wore a flynet... I heard a story about a guy sleeping under a tree who was blinded after a bird pooped in his eye.
Grim 💀
Lol
That echoed callout in the tunnel was awesome, had to put my big headphones on and crank the volume,
That's the coolest echo.
Yeah the acoustics in there were otherworldly!! And not knowing if I was alone there added some creepiness 😬 I did the halo chant in there but thought it was a little too cringe to put in the video lol
@WesWherever
Still , it had to be done it would be sacrilege not to.
I would've chanted the temple of time theme also
Damn fr something new to watch and love it i recommend
Great Video Wes! Thank you! The mouse 🐭 underneath your Bed was your included Free "security" system lol
Appreciate you watching again, Drew! Yeah I suppose he was 😂😂 Maybe he helped keep the bugs to a minimum 🚫🪳
This channel should and will have 1m subs really soon. cool to find a channel before its huge. loving the content man, great vids!
Keep it up man, your content is gold, don’t ever doubt your skills!

sweet firefly show
It was very magical! I wish it showed up on camera... going to get a better camera for lowlight soon 🌌 Thanks again for watching, Share!!
Great video! Outdoor Boys did a video here I think! Good luck on future adventures and good luck with the channel blowing up

Thanks for the reminder. I walked out to my Mulberry tree and grabbed a bowl of them. Nice video.
Awesome content ! I love the spookiness and cooking ! Love how you sign off and end each vlog🫡
Appreciate that Amy, so glad you're enjoying the adventures (even the spookiness 😜) So good to hear that you like outros! I know a lot of people leave before getting to the end, but I still like to make the endings really fun and wrap up things up as best as I can. Thanks so much for watching!!
Same tunnel The Bloodhound Gang used for filming their music video Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo. Bam Margera drove the bananamobile into the tunnel 😂
Oh I didn't even know that, so cool lol!
Great adventures, you should always carry rope.
Glad i found out about your channel.Nice video too
Glad you found it too 😉 Hope you enjoy all the adventures!! 🏕️
Great video especially since uncharted travel hasn't uploaded an "alone" video in a while
Glad you enjoyed... can't believe I haven't come across that channel! Definitely gonna have some fun watching those
That place is sketchy👍
Great vid man!
Another great video.
Appreciate that, Nick!!
Greetings from Poland Wes :) those 'third person shoots' look so cool! Looking forward to seeing your next adventures!
