I love how the music changes tone between zones. The first one is pretty relaxed because you're cruising above everything on a plane. But when it gets shot down and you have no choice but to continue on foot, the music feels quicker-paced and more desperate.
I personally have to disagree, the first act is more quicker paced because you're fighting against what is practically waves of enemies while act two has you travel by the bar area which is relaxed

I like how Tails was too lazy to remove the rockets from the bottom of the plane after Sonic 2
He still used the rocket engines on his plane in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Coming from someone who hasn’t played Mania, but played more classic Sonic games and is mainly a Sonic Archie comics fan, the fact that Team Hooligan suddenly appeared in the boss fight made me so happy, they haven’t been in any games since I think Sonic Fighters!
Sonic jumping off that plane made me think of a thought I had as a toddler. Couldn’t people just jump off a plane right before it hits the ground in plane crashes? Lmao

The opening sequence and Act 1 is gucci as hell... Gotta love a groovy entrance with Sonic on the plane in the morning, cruising through the desert. I also really love how the lighting changes halfway through. The atmosphere is awesome with this one :)

You know if I didn't know any better, I'd think that this game was made by TREASURE (Konami)...The stage design, the music even the graphical effects and arcadey looking sprite work all screams treasure... Some might not agree with it, but I think this is still probably the best sonic game ever made to date... Nostalgia done right...

Act 1 is so hard, there's literally no way you cannot get hit. The music is awesome though. At least it was not as hard and long as Sky Fortress Zone Act 1 in Sonic 4 Episode 2.
