Could you do a video about what all the simulator numbers mean and what is more important for beginners to focus on
I tried the tip of taking the club back with my right hand today in my club competition. Have to say this worked a treat. Have been struggling to break 80 lately. Shot 76 today and finished second place. Thanks Matt, this helped heaps. Keep up the great content.
This video really helped me, I had lost distance and accuracy off the tee. Without realizing I was cocking my wrists forward. Golfed today correcting this error. Distance increased significantly, ~30 yards and fairways hit way up as well. Thanks for your help
Another MSG video to start the day! Let’s go!!
Matt, I played today and, thanks to you, my drives and fairway woods were money. Thanks. My approaches were pretty good. Where I suck is at 1) lag putting and 2) short putting inside three feet. I'm sure I'm not alone. C'mon, live up to your name and help us out.
Loved this video. Lots of helpful takeaways for me. I'm definitely one of those people that fall into the "crushes a 3 wood, shanks the driver" camp. I think the straight-back takeaway is what I need to work on. I also like the fairway finder tip at the end. I'll have to give that a shot once I work through the bigger kink. I truly appreciate your videos, Matt!
Love the drill with the hardcover keeps my backswing on path and I feel I'm coming from the inside to impact. When my tempo is good I crush it using that drill.
Didn’t know the forward press was such an issue - dropped it today and it was a game changer. Awesome tip!
Awesome video and info Matt, grateful for your insight and golf tips, will put this in practice tomorrow. This issue on hitting top of driver is a recurrent one for me. Your energy is so good.
Great stuff. I was recently fitted for the new Rogue and the fitter kept saying all my numbers and data suggest my swing suits a 3 wood much better than a driver. I practiced a driver swing like you are showing and now I struggle with my 3 wood. #golfiseasy
I just watched one of your video's on 100 yds in...you are fantastic in explaining, in laymans terms...the term turn the screw when finishing your swing was epic...made everything click for me....
Thanks
Powerful advice! Thanks!
Another great video and content Matt! Brilliant tips to work on to get ready for the new season!!
Great video Matt. Your delivery is awesome! Love ya brother, excited to get back out this season.
I hit my 3wood the same distance as my driver. Been looking for answers a long time. Can’t wait to try these tips. Thanks MSG
Loved it. Now, we'll see whether I have the patience to make those adjustments: particularly the lowered fairway finder tee shot.
totally needed this, I just had a buddy take a video of my swing and I definitely forward press, need to get that out of the system ASAP
MISTER SHORT GAME = MISTER AWESOME TRAIN!!!.. Always enjoy what you put out!! ..
I'm using a Phigolf sensor with my 9 iron to keep my swing in shape ( I'm in Canada 🇨🇦)
I'm sure I'm speaking for most Northerners when I say ,"We live Vicariously through your videos ", keep @ er!!!! Hugs....
Excellent Matt great video
I’m a beginner who’s phenomenal at everything but driving. I tee it up low because I find the middle of the face practically 10/10 times. Which is a big leap for me. It still slices 80 yds while going 140 yds max.
Great video Matt
Another great video, straight forward easy golf tips .
Good stuff brother!!
Another helpful video I’ve been watching and practicing your videos have me hitting very good right now
Recently at the range I figured that I tend to hit the ball straighter and better overall when I stand far enough away that my arms are able to fully extend. If I'm too close I tend to stand up on it or leave the face way open.
Thanks Matt, great information! Love ya brother.
The tip of pulling the trigger is probably best for most club golfets, my triger is couple of small up down movement keeping driver head off turf, then into a slow back swing, my fairway hits are over 85%.
On that tip with the head cover. I went to a clinic many years ago. The guy who put it on said to take a piece of masking tape, the thin stuff, and put it across your floor straight back from the ball or a ball position. I did it in my living room and put a mark on the tape where the ball would be. Then you just practice slowly swinging back and just keep the end of the shaft along that tape line until you get your hands waist high. It works for me. Of course I do not have that house or wife anymore but I still use the tape in my new house. Just ingrains that path you want the shaft to follow. Just an FYI. You do not need to even have a ball or a club head. Just a shaft will do.
Great tip, your videos are fun and to the points!
Another great program my friend. Be well.
very helpful ,cheers
I have a problem of taking the club back too far inside on the takeaway and a forward press as a trigger. I need to work on this before the golf season in Michigan. Thank you for doing this video.
Awesome, thanks fella!
Great tips! 😎👍
This guy is good! Thanks for the tips and the videos. Keep it up!
Excellent video
Great work
Oh and I took my new Callaway Rogue ST Draw out today. The ball was going but I was hitting it on the top of the driver like you showed. Going to work on fixing that. I think the shaft was also an inch longer than I am used to. I cut it down and re gripped it.. Sunday will tell the tale. My old driver was hitting up on it no problem. Really want to catch the middle of the face and see what it feels like. The rest of the face feels hot....
Some of the best 1 liners in the game, sir. Cheers.
These tips are money. Much appreciated!
Congratulations on the 300k!! Keep up the good work
Before Arccos I was using 18 birdies love that app! I always end up hitting super low on the face too can’t break it currently.
Same swing. Same ball position. Consistency.
Nice swing man!!
THX for this video , I took some of this advice and it worked for me, !!!!!
Hey Mr SG my wife and I really love your content. She doesn't play golf but gets a kick out of your reports on the High dollar country club visits. As far as ball position for the driver....check out an oldie but bestie you tube video from Rob Bernard on hitting the driver. This is my daily setup and ball position always stays the same. It really is a good watch.
If your forward press opens your club face then you don't know how to forward press. When done correctly your lead wrist will bow which closes the clubface. If you are coming in with an open face after a forward press then you are pressing your hands away from your body instead of towards the target. Also, a forward press will not work if you tend to have an arm swing. Forward press is for golfers that really rotate their bodies thru impact i.e. Dustin and Collin.
As for taking the club inside, again you are not rotating your body/shoulders correctly. You are using your arms. Although, I agree somewhat with Mr. ShortGames drill for this, the real fix is to make sure your shoulders are rotating correctly. The shoulders should get closer to the ground each way. So on your backswing the lead shoulder will feel as it is really coming under you and the shaft will feel like it is coming to the inside, but in reality because of your spine angle the club is rotating up/under you, which is keeping on plane.
But I get it.... everyone is different when it comes to flexibility, mobility, athleticism, experience, etc.....
My New fairway finder is replacing the 3w with the TM Mini Driver, then I still have regular Driver, 5w, Rescue, 3i, 5-9i, 48, 52, 58
One of your best video 😜
If you want to make a video training up some local hacks, let me know! Me and my buddy I golf with are by Buford lol love the videos and keep up the great tips!
Ive beeb golfing for 2 months. And your videos have gotten my ball speed to 160mph. My score down to +8. And finding a lot of fairways. Thank you!
This is obviously witchcraft....
@@scrout what is?
@@krissingh528that you've made more progress in two months than I have in 20 years...
@@scrout lol ive been practicing like crazy. Just got out of college sports and looking for a little hobby
The tips are great but what shoes are those?! They are 🔥🔥🔥
The las tip is interesting. Gonna try it out
Hey what size grip do you have on your driver? Is that a mid size plus4 or a standard plus 4? Thanks
My slight forward press is going to be a tough one to solve. I definitely need a new trigger!
Hey kids, classic example of early extension @ 9:31. Watch as Matt’s right hip moves towards the ball and his head moves away from the ball in the downswing. Luckily it’s subtle and playable but it’s there! (Coming from one goat humper to another). Maybe another video on that Matt 🤣
Noticed it as well, was looking for this comment, lol.
Why does it seem like I'm watching flea from red hot chili peppers doing a demo🤣 dude. Nice tips, to me to hit the range again.
Congrats on 300k! Well earned!
Great video Matt! I am going to work on the drill with the head cover for sure. I don't take it too far inside (maybe I do though) but it may improve where my club ends up at the top of the backswing.
I used to use 18 birdies but when I started tracking my handi cap it does not work for a course that had a score rating if less than 69
I’ve been adding the Justin Thomas thing into my driver swing where he kind of brings the club slightly lower and then goes back
I have too. It's actually helped with my early extension.
I've recently gotten very good at hitting fairways. I think I hit all but 1 last round, but I have a slice and aim accordingly to get that desired result. I do lose distance because of my slice but I'm in the fairway alot. Should I try to change things to eliminate the slice or just keep it as it is and putting it in the fairway? Thank you
Another video full of good useful information!!!! Is there much real difference between the Sim2 and the new Stealth driver? Going to get a new driver later this month and for the $$$$ is it worth it.
Thanks
It seems every club review I have watched there is little difference between driver the last 5-6 years. The consensus seems to be get the one you like the feel, sound, look of to be confident
Good video but I would really like to see your short game tips again. That's where my game really needs improvement. My chipping sucks.
What simulator do you recommend Matt?
What are your thoughts on beginners using a driver, given that it's the hardest to hit? Should they not use a 3 wood until they are good with that?
You know the old saying feels versus real is so true
What kind of tees are you using in your mat
I am just happy if the ball is not still on the tee after my swing
The tee shot is my downfall. That whole "drive for show, putt for dough" is BS. My handicap is in the high teens because I hit 3-4 bad tee shots a round, which costs me 6-9 strokes. Hitting three of the tee a couple of times a round is a murder.
BTW, congrats on 300K Subs!
Tee off with you 3wood or hybrid straight is better than long
@@kennethdias9988 Totally agree. I routinely tee off with a 4-iron or 4 Metal (no 3 wood) on shorter par 4s. But I still need a reliable shot with my driver.
@@normlang1994 choke down to get a more comfortable set-up if your mechanics are good with long irons and fairway woods metals that should do it or put a 4 wood shaft on your driver.
I’d love to carry 220
I have almost the same stat… 70%… but… are in the bush!… 😵💫
I'm getting a lesson today for my driver. No Idea why but my launch is so low right now. I took a 12* driver the other day and launched it at 10/2000 hitting 6 up and it is just killing my carry.
Impressive actually! That would be hard to do.
I don't believe just moving the hands forward is a true forward press or what the pros do but point well taken.
Looks more like Freddy boom boom Couples driver swing.
Mr. SG, what brand of pants are you wearing?
More short game tips, please.
Worst mistakes golfers make with their tee shots.
1. Constantly watching golf tip UA-cam videos and thinking they're going to somehow find the magic sauce that makes them better than horrible without even understanding the basics of golf that leads to them constantly changing their swings based on the advice of UA-camrs which subsequently never yields consistent results which creates this loop to go on forever.
2. Living run on sentence comments on UA-cam videos instead of practicing.
70% fariways is like amazing as it gets. excellent!
In reference to tip 5 I would just use my 5 wood which is already a fairway finder.
Why is it that I only 3 put the greens I hit in regulation ?
Bro, you look like SteveO's identical twin. Awesome.
Love you too
Mr. Long game today
What’s nice about your stats is you pretty much took the whole left side out of play! 6 percent? 🔥
For me 70% of fairways is below average because I play Golf one handed and due to the fact that I am not long off the tee I try and hit over 85% of fairways per round
You mention “triggers” and I’ve naturally developed one for my irons.. my problem is I have no trigger and feel like I’m floating through my driver swing. I’ll have to give some of these a try for triggers. Great content per usual 👌
The wrists, and not just taking the club back with straight arms. That’s me.
Why is pga tour average aoa with driver negative?
Me Playing Golf 6 month i have the Same Driver and Same Clubheadspeed but my Drive Never Go so Long :(
Mine is I get stuck with my hips then my arms take over and hit the 100 yard hook lol
Invisible cap?
Play 2 balls One is your drive wherever it goes and the other is a ball in middle of fairway rhat you drop out 240 yds. See which ball wins
Score can’t blow up in the bushes if were there the whole time anyway 🤷♂️
You're fun
google number and it's a company that has nothing to do with golf. scam
Love ya’ pal, but in the ball positioning section, you say the ball is off your left heel . . . It was not. You them said it;s lined up with your left ear. Er, not even close.
Sometimes I wish I could slice.
Ok so i hit high toe... try to hit low heel... high toe again....
Usually if there is a tight fairway I just hit a 2 iron
Is that because only God can hit a one iron…..
Great video as usual but you might want to adjust your face on camera, it appears to be a little bit behind.
I've watch just about every golf guru , they all get caught up in golf jargon . You did KISS it
Keep It Simple Stupid
