Every time i watch, i notice something new and wonderful...I feel inspired, every time i watch....thank u, those that made this available but most of all thank u to mr jones....u r a wonderful artist sir.
wow...all i can say. ive seen lots of these hand-carved guitars, and i am usually pretty impressed. but some of these have just taken my breath away! mad respect for this man, really. maybe someday i could be building guitars like this, hopefuly!
I love the positioning of the input plug for the cable on this guitar! Not a lot of brands do this there is usually a bolt that needs to be tightened to sure that your input plug doesn't fall out but this one on this guitar looks fail safe and I bet that guitar sounds awesome!
Awesome guitars. You don't have to be a guitar player to appreciate them, but it doesn't hurt either. Great attention to detail. Very nice planks of wood. I would die to own one, but could never afford to pay what they are rightfully worth.
I used to build guitars then I watched this video and now I'm rethinking my life decisions haha kidding but wow what beautiful guitars. The wood sculpture is obviously what makes them so incredible. I could look at these for hours. I'm sure they play amazing as well.
@dokaz u are right, I don't know who u are. I assumed that if u were one to have one of these beauties, u wouldn't be here, commenting on his video, u would be on stage with it.
Modern day cnc is amazing, and no the cnc cant imagine anything, it just reads codes and macros, however a modeling package can produce this same thing and then you could program off of the model. i have done detailed design and machining like this. also you could reproduce this guitar easily if you had a 3d scanner, or a cmm. but i have to admit this imagination and detail that he has here definitely shows he is a master of his craft
@zircle1 Modern CNC is pretty amazing. You could program something close to this level of work but in the end CNC balls will not cut the same way knives and files do. You also have to conciser that a CNC will not imagine these types of works on their own or be able to look at a hunk of wood and plan the carving around the figure. W. Jeffrey Jones guitars are all unique and will never be reproduced. For cool examples of inexpensive, mass produced CNC guitars check out DBZ Guitars.
I carve as a hobby, Have you ever tried scraping carvings using broken window glass? it saves a lot of chisel hassle on fine work there is a video on youtube called "glass wood scraper" (its not my video) gut it will give a good idea on how to use it, Glass is razor sharp, cheap and easy to find.once the broken edge is blunt, just break another piece and away you go.. use the flat, rounded edge and tip for all different work..Good luck on your next project, i hope i was helpful
I was going to say...the level of detail, that's not regular luthierie. I "carved" a guitar body this week hope someday I can get close to this level. I have to wonder though, how is the SOUND.
A real craftsman, beautifully designed, Beautiful choice of woods and combinations of wood. These guitars and bases are like eye candy to me. rgl101614
Nope, if you knew him you'd know the level of work he puts into everything. Growing up I spent days in the shop with him, watching how he did everything and watching a lot of his guitars progress from start to finish. Since he's my uncle and all...
YOu can do a rough cut of the design with the CNC, and then do the rest by hand, to make it "custom" you know, and not just let the machine to the thing
every woodcarver use a router or arbotech to rough out carving relief any that say they dont are most likely tell little fibs the guy who did this is clearly an incredible woodcarver but i bet his best buddy is his router and dremil
@dokaz understand that these guitars weren't made for u. even if u did have the money they weren't made for u. they were made for a very specific bunch of people.
fair play to him but i dont get why anyone would not use a router to rough out its not cheating it save a lot of blisters i make rocking horses and use an arbotech cuts my time by hours
Yep... Jeffrey's work isn't for every one. The Dragon Wing sold a long time ago so you couldn't have that one if you wanted it. You could pay $10,000 for a Paul Gilbert Fire Man if you like. Oh.. and not for nuthin' but all the guitars you named one have one volume.
Guitars like the Dragon and the Oi take lots of time but that's nothing new for Jeffrey. W. Jeffrey Jones is professional sculptor who has worked for, among others, Todd McFarlane Toys. So putting in the long hours on detail is nothing new to him.
As a guitar builder myself it is truly humbling to see these works of art. All are masterworks by any standard. Mindblown. Thanks for the post.
Every time i watch, i notice something new and wonderful...I feel inspired, every time i watch....thank u, those that made this available but most of all thank u to mr jones....u r a wonderful artist sir.
It's good to see that real art is alive and well and coming from your heart and hands. Kudos to you! Fine work my friend.
wow...all i can say. ive seen lots of these hand-carved guitars, and i am usually pretty impressed. but some of these have just taken my breath away! mad respect for this man, really. maybe someday i could be building guitars like this, hopefuly!

Wow, for there isn't a word to describe this! Congratulations on your work!
Awesome guitars. You don't have to be a guitar player to appreciate them, but it doesn't hurt either. Great attention to detail. Very nice planks of wood. I would die to own one, but could never afford to pay what they are rightfully worth.
I would like to see and hear some of these pieces played
I love how clean the work is
A truly mind-bending luthier. Jeffrey Jones GUITAR KING
Absolutely astonishing work. So inspirational
Screw the CNC machine, these designs are off the hook all by themselves. Beautiful.
Beautiful work. Your a master
Beautiful, thank you
Just fine sanding of wood alone takes a lot of patience let alone carving intricate stuff. This guy is good.
these guitars are gorgeous
i wouldn't even care how they sound
i'd just look at them all day
A piece of art..! Just AWESOME::!
Великолепная работа! И спасибо за вдохновение!)
I used to build guitars then I watched this video and now I'm rethinking my life decisions haha kidding but wow what beautiful guitars. The wood sculpture is obviously what makes them so incredible. I could look at these for hours. I'm sure they play amazing as well.
Beautiful guitars. I am not sure that I could ever part with one of those after building it.
His guitars are amazing... Oh yea, those Searcy pickups sound pretty good too ;)
if its not art, what is? love it. thank you.
amazing !!!
@dokaz u are right, I don't know who u are.
I assumed that if u were one to have one of these beauties, u wouldn't be here, commenting on his video, u would be on stage with it.
Beatiful guitars, and beautiful music also, whats the name of it?
works of art... they should be played never let your work of art collect dust or hung in a case, it was made to be played, enjoyed.
What's the name of the music. I love it. And I love the guitars/basses. Brilliant art both of them.
I was wondering the same thing

@Evenleeyod You might want to Email Jeffrey. I understand he has two shop prototypes that might be had for a song.
@SearcySW I'm on your side dude, these guitars are brilliant..i was really just pointing out the cost issue..peace
hello cant you post a youtube video of that guitare finish please !!
@lilwayne910728 It's Jeffrey playing one of his guitars.

i know this guy does it by hand, but you can use a CNC router to make the exact same designs for a fraction of the cost...if cost is an issue
awesome
Amazing Guitar work.
Can you please share the background's song name?
It really reminds me the song "hey" by The Pixies..same bass line..
I carve as a hobby, Have you ever tried scraping carvings using broken

hey i know the question is gonna be off topic but whats the backgroud music?
We're can I have one custom carve made for me...since I'm not in that wonderful profession...
@joesteele93 Nice work!! Very well done.
A real craftsman, beautifully designed, Beautiful choice of woods and combinations of wood. These guitars and bases are like eye candy to me. rgl101614
Wow, absolutely stunning, beautiful guitars. What a talented man he is. Would like to hear one, would love to own one.
they cost alooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of moolah O.O
Nope, if you knew him you'd know the level of work he puts into everything. Growing up I spent days in the shop with him, watching how he did everything and watching a lot of his guitars progress from start to finish. Since he's my uncle and all...
Wonderful, you have a super cool and talented Uncle there. Hope it rubs of on you.
Wow!!!!
its like solid state vs tube carveing puts soul in machines dont
I dig it. But it must take forever to make
I knew it sounded home recorded :P
I want one :/
YOu can do a rough cut of the design with the CNC, and then do the rest by hand, to make it "custom" you know, and not just let the machine to the thing
I get a lusty feeling looking at these guitars. I picture the kinky things we'd do together.
every woodcarver use a router or arbotech to rough out carving relief any that say they dont are most likely tell little fibs the guy who did this is clearly an incredible woodcarver but i bet his best buddy is his router and dremil

you can do it with a router but where's the passion...?
Yep... Jeffrey's work isn't for every one. The Dragon Wing sold a long time ago so you couldn't have that one if you wanted it. You could pay $10,000 for a Paul Gilbert Fire Man if you like.
Oh.. and not for nuthin' but all the guitars you named one have one volume.
all guitars are handmade
Not only that, but to hire, let alone buy a CNC machine would kind of eliminate your entire point.
Guitars like the Dragon and the Oi take lots of time but that's nothing new for Jeffrey. W. Jeffrey Jones is professional sculptor who has worked for, among others, Todd McFarlane Toys. So putting in the long hours on detail is nothing new to him.
they r sooooooo fuckin' pretty O_O did u sold ur soul to devil for makin' guitars?))
why all this satan.. love..?is the evil and the suffer a cool thing?
