They're actually big in the US but the real problem is that the music industry in America acknowledges their status & popularity but limits them and puts them in a box where they won't outshine their American counterparts. The US radios for instance wouldn't even play their songs bc they're not in English. These days, the media would most likely report nasty rumors & negative news about them rather than their record breaking achievements. Award shows won't nominate them even if they're highly qualified for a number of categories. They were even categorized separately under K-pop where the only competitions they have are Korean groups, which is crazy cause they can very well compete with American artists in several categories.

They were accused of copying another band because they changed their hair color. They put on school uniforms and got accused of plagiarising another group. And the logo for their Japanese album is accused of plagiarism again 😅Recently, Suga was accused of plagiarising Korean culture for Daechwita mv... And Suga is Korean, and Korean culture is for all Koreans, yes? Now you understand how silly the accusations are. Chart manipulation is even ridiculous. They were poor, they had no money for that. Nobody can accuse them of faking concert receipts though because the evidence is in the crowd. You can't fake that!

And we all know why they did that..it was *a famous k-pop group* in Korea at that time and their fans and company saw BTS getting success which they didn't liked, a small company group getting success.. every army know the group i am talking about..that group and BTS are good with each other..but their fandom 😌.. their fandom and other k-pop group fandoms United together to hate on BTS..we still hv prove on twitter 👀 they hate that BTS are so big now..not their favs..the reason even now other k-pop fandoms hates BTS soo much!! & The *Black ocean* other fandoms together did!! A lot of other groups where called out for supposed chart manipulation as well. Although the other groups were from the Big Three (SM, YG, and JYP Entertainment) so the accusations were swept under the rug rather quickly.

When I first watched this a couple months ago and I was a noob to BTS, this is the one I got pissed off at too and I totally get why people are protective of them with the vulgarity, the prejudice, the discrimination and the blatant racism against them. There is so many ignorant people in the world just wanting to bring others down and here BTS is trying to bring people up and spread positivity. This one totally got me in the rabbit hole. And yes! Why do we have to search to find them? I haven't listened to the radio since I found them. I now stream my favorites and search for new music on the internet. Radio can kiss my ass......so can toxic twitter

Watching this made me cry because I remember when people said that they will never make it, and look at them now. I'm so happy that they got what they deserved, they deserve all this fame and I hope that all the haters will realize that what they are doing is wrong. And I'm not saying that not liking them is wrong, it's not wrong perhaps it's fine because we all have different tastes and we can't like the same things. But don't fricking say "Bts are gay, bts look like girls, bts don't deserve their fame". Imagine being them and then hearing people saying that you don't deserve your fame, would you feel happy? Now you know... Sometimes, you will see that we can come across as super-protective and we snap easily when somebody tries to say something questionable about them. But these boys went through all the possible shit (excuse my French) and all they wanted was to sing and help people have a better life, whenever possible. Plagiarism? They even accused them they copied the hair colors of other boy bands.

I think it's the other way around. Erich Fromm wrote in "The art of loving" that loving yourself is necessary to be able to love other people. So other people, who love themselves, may be able to appreciate you even if you don't love yourself. But you may have hardships in forming relationships with those people because you can't really love them.

I have listened to KPop since 2010, and hear about BTS around 2015, but I didn't know why I was not in to them at that time. I just keep listening to other group. When they was comeback, i watch their MV about couple time.
Last November, I gave up with my job because my depression & social anxiety gotten whorster, so I have a lot more time at home, spend my time by watched youtube.
And on their last comeback with "ON", I start to love their music & performance, I listen to their another songs, even the MV reaction from youtuber. That moment make me found this video "BTS: From Nobodies to Legends". Their story gave so much motivation & inpiration to me, especially about the meaning of 'Bangtan', From BTS, I know about the word of "Expectation", I realized that I live my life by try to meet others expectation and it make me unhappy as person. I keep watch their music & content, know their personality, their messages and etc. Since then, I stan for BTS and I'm obses now. I start to do what I love to do, start to love my self and build on my confident back. I do youtube too this day, I love BTS so I make some videos of BTS update per day. And the most bless is I got so much love from ARMY around the world, I feel like not I'm alone.

BTS is one of the few bands around that I've heard (in my 48 years) that is not only genuine, but also never phones it in. You can tell when an artist REALLY means what they sing and BTS always means it. That's so freaking rare.
I love your voice and songs. And your dad jokes remind me of Jin. 😂 Also I really love and appreciate when people who have similar values and ideals as BTS react because it gives me faith in the human race again. "they're like therapy" YES! Now you've got it. I love a lot of artists and songs but no song and no artist has ever made me feel comfort the way BTS and their songs make me feel. It's the main reason i am an ARMY. I feel like I'm healing my broken self slowly because of them
"Love yourself" is such a hard concept to grasp but thanks to BTS, i've grown to appreciate myself more, to take care of myself and to focus more on myself than others.
I've grown so much from the past me that I will never get tired of being thankful of BTS for teaching and showing the way to self improvement, self appreciation and self love and seeing more ARMYs and even non-ARMYs feeling the same way I do never fails to make me proud and happy for them as well.

I´m portuguese, very proud of having 50 years old and even more proud of being a BTS fan, one sad thing is that radio stations in Portugal NEVER play BTS songs...Not even 1!!! The other one is people calling me names because i love the boys and say i´m too old to like "This kind of music"...But you know what...Fuck them because due to these kids i learned how to LOVE MYSELF! 💜💜💜
Seeing you peel their layers and understanding them and us more and more with each video is pure joy. This video only showed small headlines of all the hate that they received over the years (and still do). As u saw some of the remarks in this video were just a few months ago.. around new years.
The plagiarism accusations were so ridiculous but intense that it trended and was in the news and they were asked about it in press conferences. They were accused of buying their own music in large quantities to manipulate the charts and they had to file a law suit to shut everyone up and openly stated that they were too broke to even consider doing that.
There is so much more that you will get to know in this journey that will make you respect and understand them even more.
BTS teach us always to love ourselves... and they help us do that step by step.

It's that they use their power and influence for something good and not just to be better than other people. Disclaimer: this is one of my hot buttons....sorry for the length here....
Unfortunately, in the US, the music and radio industries are all about profit and protecting their market. They claim that most don’t play BTS music on the radio because the label has to approach the stations and establish a relationship and promote the music in a way that lets the guys earn the right to be on the radio. But when fans point out artists in the US, from the US, who come out of nowhere from small companies and make it big in the US, then the stations imply that a ground level grassroots effort requesting the music made the stations realize how big this unknown artist might be, and that artist “explodes” in the industry and becomes huge, the next big act on the radio.... sigh....not quite....
ARMY calls stations with great regularity, requesting the music, promoting the group, interacting with the DJs in one of the biggest ground level grass roots efforts I have ever seen, yet most stations refuse to play their music...,they claim either the genre isn’t aligned with their programming or that they only play English speaking songs....when they actually play hip hop and pop and rap and rock and they also play songs with some Spanish, including a few that are primarily Spanish with English.... and many English songs we Native English speakers cannot understand anyway due to the way the vocalists pronounce the words........
my local station played BTS’s “Boy With Luv” last year when BigHit had partnered with a US record label for promoting the album....the song was in the top request countdown show each weeknight, typically number 1,.... but then it dropped off their regular playlist, and I noticed that even if I called and requested it, I never heard it again....one of the DJs finally admitted that they were not allowed to play it even if it was the most requested song of the day..... so the whole notion that if enough people are requesting it then the DJs will play it and the stations will support it since it has such a strong following and likelihood of bringing in and keeping listeners for their advertising is garbage. It is about money and power and protecting those bringing in the money and power straight to them, regardless of whether the listeners want it or not,
I have given up on most stations because they play the same 30 songs over and over and over, and most of them are soulless or sound just like the last popular song or are sung in English but I cannot understand them anyway - I am not a Korean speaker but understand BTS songs more than some of the English ones these days, and I am willing to look up lyrics and connect with music that way but most of the English songs that I cannot understand typically don’t have lyrics or meaning worth investing time in.....
ok, sorry for the rant/ramble/soap box..... I love music and am so disappointed in most promoted US artists these days and the stations who promote them.... but I love BTS and their music and appreciate you getting to know them more.

The message that BTS transmits is the message that you want your children to hear, hopefully more and more artists will worry about spreading it. Love when you included yourself in that 24% I am also a metalhead who fell deeply in love with these 7 precious human beings and their message.
I'm 52 and part of the 24%. I also retired from the Air Force and now in the BTS ARMY! My daughter and I have seen them live 3 times and have tickets for 2 pending concerts. These guys are INCREDIBLE!

BTS is so much more than pretty children and the world only sees that. in the last video where you reacted to the song the last of Suga you mentioned the irreparable loss of a great great artist like Chester. I love Linkin park and Chester's loss still hurts. and this makes me think that very few people realize that although artists have money and luxury they are not happy and that very few artists talk about mental health and emotional problems, since it is like a taboo subject. BTS is why it has impacted to touch those themes in the song MIKROKOSMO talks about suicide that we are special and we should not disappear. 'They were never nobodies..' Of all the reactions to this video that I've watched, you're the first person I've heard say this. It made me really happy. I have no problem with the title, and I completely understand the point of it, but in my own heart, that's always been my thought. They were never nobodies. None of us are.
I'm an older ARMY myself, and my devotion to them - that is the most accurate word, I think - developed over time, as it does with so many of us. I've never felt such an emotional connection to any other artist or group. For me, it was two things that really cemented my support of them. One was the realization that after all of their struggle & hard work, when they finally achieved 'success' as we define it, their response wasn't self-satisfaction. They never complained. They didn't look back at all the people who made things difficult for them and gloat. Instead, they continued to look to the people who brought them there, and they felt their responsibility even more keenly. The greater their voices have grown, the MORE mindful they've become of how they use them. That's rare. I think that's extremely rare.
And the moment I finally considered myself ARMY was watching a recording of one of their concerts, and in the closing remarks Suga said that we're beside them on the mountain they're climbing. No one's ahead or behind. We're holding hands, and making the climb together.
This is life. This is the truth. These boys know that, and they work everyday to come from that space, into the world. It's how we should all strive to be, and I'll love them forever for shining that light.
It's such a pleasure to watch new people come to see just what those of us who love them already know.

The speech of RM is really speaking to my heart and soul. Loving yourselves is a lifetime work for everybody. i think it's one of the reason why 33% of their fans are over 40 :D. matthew was actually at the concert i went to! it was and is by far the single best concert i've ever been to. nothing will ever top that experience, i don't think. they have saved my life countless times and i'm so very thankful for them and what they have taught me.

Just imagine the psychological toll they must've experienced with all this sht they've been receiving. They almost disbanded last 2018 because of the weight they could barely carry. They don't deserve any of those negative things they got. BTS or not, no one deserves that especially BTS aren't even harming people. People needs to realize these celebs they're mocking and stupidly spreading hate realize they're actual people and human before they became a public figure.

It's like 3am here in New Zealand when you drop reactions, so I am always late. I have been ARMY for about 5 yrs. A group I have recently fallen in love with are Ateez. They are amazing and I know you would love them too. Their debut song is Pirate King, but others that are so good, Say my name, Hala hala, Wonderland, Wave, Answer, Illusion.. and so many more.
not only their music we love, we love them as good people... they are so much more than their music... they are truly legendary...the fact that the western industry keep trying to sabotage them any way they can truly broke my heart..they deserve respect... since right before the covid hit they were over here in the US promoting but radio still refuse to play their music even though army called in to request for their songs to be play.. they keep giving us one excuse to another.. I heart radio, People's choice, mtv, grammy they all did BTS dirty, using them for cloud only... that's why army are so protective of them.. I truly love and respect these 7 precious human beings.. Thank u for giving them love.. they deserve so much more..

RMs words always makes me cry. All members talks at concert at the end their words comes from their heart. They are so different from other artists. Thats why I love them. Because one of them. They faced things like I faced with my life. But their songs, lyrics are a miracle. You have to react to RM MONO. ITS LIKE A HUG FROM RM.

A son,brother,and a friend, they were born with this spirit inside they just got lucky that they found each other. I always felt that that word demim them maybe they weren't popular but they have always been somebody.
No, you weren’t wrong! When I tell someone that I love BTS (I live in Germany) everyone looks at me a certain way and afaik also many other armys from all over the world, including the US have to face a lot prejudices and have to endure the ignorance of the local music industry, for example radios not wanting to play BTS because a) they don’t sing in English and b) Bighit doesn’t do the paying thing with the radios.

When i watched this i did cry and i can relate on a personal level to what both Jimin and Yoongi went thru and also Jungkook (in my eyes) is a manifestation of the the 6 lads personalities in one person.
Also on a side note when they each speak by themselves at the end of their nots it reminds me of when i went to watch ‘Burn The Stage’ at the cinema and i cried thru out that documentary that my boyfriend had to hand me tissuses

Actually the industry knows that they are pretty big in America but since they do not benefit from them (they do not pay the radios to play their music, which counts a lot for the nominations) they always put up barriers to minimize their achievements. Thats why we always say that they are organic.
you're very right. the music and lyrics, dancing and explosive performances definitely caught my attention, but their message definitely made me Army. they're so humble and genuine despite all the fame, and it's strange but i feel like i have 7 friends who love me unconditionally even though i've never met them in person.
If BTS was played on the radio they would blow up. They are huge in America, we, (BTS & ARMY) are in the triple millions, even hard for us to believe, we are massive.

Sadly it boils down to discrimination. Haters always hate. But I think the American Music industry is scared shitless of these boys as they should be. What I think speaks volumes is that they can continue to try and deny deny deny but eventually the rest of the public will find out how amazingly talented and phenomenal this set of men are. Everything they’ve done they’ve achieved on their own without the help of many people in the industry it’s the people who listen and take the time to give them a chance, and then have the courage to admit how much they love them!It’s about so much more than the music. Honestly I feel American music industry got intimidated by BTS because they knew how amazing they are and it’s hard to compete with them if BTS actually blows up in American’s radio or award shows.
The reason that they were nobodies and got so much hates because they came from the small music company where Korea got big 3 music companies that have more money and power. Korean fans back then pretty much worship those three, when this youngster group like BTS from small company came out with this good music and had potential to go far and big, the other fans attacked them harshly. It was so sad but Bangtan boys never give up! And look at them now!! We are so proud of them 💜

Here in Italy BTS aren't promoted that much I had seen BTS on TV just 5 times. None talks about them and I actually get bullied for liking them, even a radio "zoo 105" played one of their songs then stopped the song just to say "why did we put this Korean guys with colored hair that make shitty songs and with a Fandom of twelve years old children that have shitty taste in music". I was very mad at them (all the Italian armys were, they apologized by saying more insults) because they are adults, by saying this things they basically saying to my bullies that they are doing great by bulling me (sorry for my English correct my grammar if I made some mistakes)

I am very happy to watch this video with you even though I already watched it several times. This video always touches me seriously. When they debuted, they were nothing but rookies from a small company. They were blamed because of their names, styles, music, etc. Haters just wanted to hate for nothing. But BTS kept going and they succeed at last.

BTS aren't ignored in america in terms of being a band but they're 10000% ignored in terms of their music , 0 radio play, being seperated in charts & award shows from others because their language , when they're talked about it's always about how many fans they have , but rarely about their music or impact on the industry ...
They are a lifeline of light and hope in a world that can seen so dark and lonely.
