Spring Day has never left the Melon charts for more than 3 years now. (Korea doesn't have Spotify so Melon charts is the most popular streaming platform in Korea) It is the longest charting song in Melon charts 'history and I heard that it is still often randomly played on coffee shops and other public places. Sort of like a daily reminder maybe. Armys call it queen Spring Day, Suga calls it zombie. Haha Maybe because it will probably never die and leave the charts. I love your reactions. One of the most genuine reactors I've seen here. ☺️💜
Thanks for showing that tough guys can like BTS and I love watching your journey, which id the same one I took last year. I learned their videos create a fictional storyline. It was crazy when I watched it. All of these music videos should be the Korean version, not Japanese. I NEED U MV (19+ version… the censored version cuts out a lot of the storyline) On Stage: Prologue VCR Run MV Epilogue: Young Forever MV WINGS short films (These are critical! Make sure to find versions with English subtitles!) Blood Sweat & Tears MV Love Yourself Highlight Reel Spring Day
The thing is that in Korea you can't talk about something ike that publicly, especially in the kpop industry so they had to cover the message with the help of their agency to avoid being blacklisted. (That's why you can't understand the MV without the explanation). That's one of the many reason why we love the boys so much, they are doing more than just making music! If you want to know more about the Sewol tragedy, here is the full documentary (You will probably be very sad and very upset while watching it) : ua-cam.com/video/dhME_nj5CWc/v-deo.html
Tha ks for mentioning this. I saw a vid explaining how BTS had to cover up the true message behind the video. That's why the vid clearly shows imagery of the tragedy, but the lyrics are carefully worded to avoid getting blacklisted.
@@amethystarthur7499 There's even more details that are not listed in the explanation video that shows the link between the MV and the event (for exemple the clock in the laundry room stopped at 9:35 - the hour the ferry sank, or the fact that they keep saying 보고싶다 (I miss you). In the letters written by the family to their lost children this expression is used a lot.) They couldn't say how they felt about the tragedy but they managed to spread their message in such a beautiful way as always!
It's my impression that critiques of the government are not as consequential since that president was impeached, though. But you're right that their culture is based much more on honor & respect for elders and authorities, so that factors into why BTS has chosen to indirectly criticize the powers that be.
I won't forget that incident. I saw it in the news when it happened and I was really shocked. Those are kids for crying out loud, the captain and the ship crew are grown ups who should have help and protected those kids but they just abandoned them inside the ferry clueless and left them to die. It was outrageous :(
When Zach Sang asked them if they believed speaking about social issues in their music was a risky move, Namjoon answered "If somebody gotta say that, I think it should be us. Somebody needs to talk about those topics, why not say that?" and then Yoongi said "There's some stories that only we can tell, only BTS can tell" So they accept the preassure that comes with it. This is one of the many things that made me an Army. As a 27 YO woman, I've felt for a long time that, with today's pop culture this social critique had been lost for a long time, at least with the majority of singers, this is why I generaly don't get invested in today's music, with a few exceptions, I'm a 70s-80s kind of girl, you know?. Of course art can be fun, of course music can be just for dancing... but sometimes, you need something more. BTS is great at that balance, and I love what they are doing for people of all ages all around the world. PS. This is the interview: ua-cam.com/video/STLDAdhuLzc/v-deo.html
Some facts: - There is a speculation that the captain let the ferrry to helplessly sink because the ferry carried the overload amount of goods/stuff (presumably even illegal stuff) that were not reported prior to the departure. In other words, once the ferry started to have problems and was about to sink, the captain intentionally aimed to let it sink, in order to burry the evidence. The captain avoided to asking for/receiving any evacuation because then the evacuator team would have found those illegal items in their ferry. So here we can see that the children were "colleteral" victims of a corruption case. . - The media never reported the truth as they were paid. This ferry case is full of corruption. . - The most heartbreaking one is that the ferry was sinking over some period of time that was actually enough time for the students to send videos/texts to their parents, but again no efforts of evacuation ever proceeded until finally they were drowned. Even when the ferry was at the bottom of the sea, there was actually a sort of "compressed" air room (I dont remember the term) that was water proof that actually allowed some students to survive for a while. Yet again, no one was coming to save them. So they died not because of drowning, but because of lacking the air. . At the laundry room scene in the MV, the clock on the wall was set up exactly the same time as the ferry sank. . The government did not allow anybody to speak/reveal anything about the case. It is because the corruption case in the ferry connected somehow with some high level people at the government. Again, in this case, the students were treated inhumanly simply as colleteral damages. . At that time, it was hard for people even to send charity/donations to the victims' family or even speak about it, because they will get punished by the government. BTS had the gut to speak up through this song using symbolical/hidden meanings. .BTS had balls to release the song during the time period that this issue was still politically sensitive, thus easily risking their career. . If you see some reaction videos in youtube made by Korean people, they easily figured out that the song connects somehow with the tragedy. They recognized it. BTS themselves never admit about this reference. They stayed silent since this case was very sensitive and critical. For us, international ARMYs, it is hard to understand this without the explanation video. . - The song never leaves the chart in Korea. This song is endlessly loved by many people in Korea and used as a reference to represent various depressing situations, not necessarily about the tragedy. A while ago, in UA-cam, there is even a music video created by 100 Korean people who shared their sorrow about this pandemic situation by re-singing this song. It represented how thew were not able to enjoy the Spring Days due to this pandemic.
BTS and BH were very brave to speak up. At that time it was against the government for public figures to speak bad against the President who ineffectively let this tragedy become even bigger. Actually, BH and BTS donated money to the families of the victims and one father expressed how touched he was because his daughter (an early army) had died in the tragedy.
Not sure if it's because of me being over-emotional and stressed out nowadays but I really cried watching the explanation. Yes, I've been an army for 4 years now but still, bts manage to make me respect them to a higher level everyday
BTS is really telling stories in societies in best possible ways. I would recommend Baepsae & Spine Breaker next.. fun songs, but meaningful.. thank u for the reaction💜
That's why I love BTS. in every song they always have a deep meaning and a beautiful message for us to be strong and wise to face life. Spring Day song is a song that tells about tragedies in Korea that should not be raised. the local government is trying to deter anyone who tries to open this tragedy. then BTS also never revealed the story behind this song. we (Army) try to understand the meaning of this song ourselves. Love your reaction Mad Ang 💜💜
BTS are so different from a lot of other artists. There music isn't music it is a novel full of information to help shed light of important events or subjects, to help us through difficulties, to improve ourselves, to show that we are loved and important or to just make us happy. They love us and they show it constantly. RM even said that this song is also about missing those that are alive and that you love but for whatever reason you can't be with them. In May, during a VLive RM did with Suga, RM told us that he couldn't listen to this song without wanting to cry because it made him miss us even more. BTS hasn't been able to see ARMY since before their Map of the Soul 7 album release in February. The reason he had been listening to SPRING DAY is because they were practicing and recording it for the DEAR CLASS OF 2020 performance and rehearsing it for their Live Stream concert they did in June. It was the last song for the live concert and you could see them all trying to hold back their emotions at the end.
The Sewol Ferry tragedy was an unbelievably sad event. The teacher who was in charge of the students on the field trip survived the sinking, but later hung himself. According to a note found in his wallet, he wrote "Surviving alone is too painful. I will be a teacher in the afterlife". When I read about this it broke my heart into a million pieces. I'm not a citizen of South Korea, but I feel the deep pain of the students' loved ones. One can only hope that such a tragedy must never happens again and the necessary reforms have been carried out by the government. Thank you to BigHit and BTS (RM in particular because he wrote the lyrics) for releasing such a beautiful song that resonates so deeply with not just the people of South Korea but with people all around the world.
Idk how the crew on that ship can live with themselves after what they did...absolutely disgusting. The fact BTS decided to do this speaks so much about their character and why i love them so much. thanks for doing both videos!
I have known that the captain was centenced but he killed himself i dont know if he got to be in jail. I still get goosebumps when i remember the audios of the kids who were traped in the ferry calling their parents before they died, its one of the most heartbreaking things ive heard in life
I just admire them so much, they’re much more than a pretty face and so many people don’t see that. Being an army is the best decision I made and I’m so proud of all the things that they’re achieving, I love them. Thank you so much for your reaction, stay safe!
This is why BTS is so incredibly special. I'm always so protective of this song when I know it's about to be reacted to. I think it's their most important work to date. And is up there as part of my big 3 - SPRING DAY, FAKE LOVE and BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS. They're artisans at their craft. Very happy you took the time to watch this.
This is another BTS song that keeps me in tears everytime i see its MV. The meaning behind it really hits me 😥 May all the departed souls Rest in Peace 🙏
the way you interpret or give insights to the mvs really amaze me.👏 this is one of the reasons why I like your channel. Thank you for this fast reaction . We're getting spoiled here too 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
This is one of the reasons why so many adults love BTS, it's refreshing to see a group of young men speaking up, complaining and questioning things. Outsiders will never understood, unless they give them a chance.
It never fails. I always get tears in my eyes when I watch these videos... And there's no harm in making your own interpretation, BTS just want you to be able to appropriate their texts and find comfort, reflection or an answer in them. The tragedy of the Seoul ferry is horrible with more than 250 schoolchildren dead. The captain committed suicide afterwards because he felt guilty for his mismanagement of the shipwreck... There is a Wikipedia page of this tragedy, you should read it... but the message of "Spring Day" is universal. Today the system in the world is oppressive, and too many elites build their happiness on the misfortune of social, racial or religious minorities... And at some point you have to stop and fight against injustice even if it is on a modest level... The middle of the train does exist in the society, it is the amorphous people in front of people's misfortunes and serve the elites for crumbs . Thanks
You know, I start to stan BTS since 2014 after listening to their song Boy In Luv thinking that they are the same like any other kpop group..but slowly I get to see several difference things abt them ..and to tell the truth, after seeing their growing when they release this Queen song Spring Day, I finally get it..BTS are special and Army are great fan base ..I never regret I got into this fandom since 6 years ago ...And to see you react to their video, it makes me happy and I'm satisfied myself eventhough BTS those all that ..Thank you for your existence ..Your video may be an inspiration to anyone ..you are one of my inspiration too ..place where I can ease my tension is by watching your video 😄 Love from Malaysia
This was how I fell into the rabbit hole.. but my video was blood sweat and tears. Then the explained video. It takes you on such a different journey when you find out the meanings behind their music. There has never been an artist who can do this to me.
I remember first time i knew the meaning of spring day, i end up with days watching video and news about the sewol tragedy.. Knowing that 200 something student, almost 300 died because of it.. Not yet mention the survivor that cannot continue live due to burden in their life, they suicide.. So does some of local diver who help the student by themself since government takes time to take action to help the victims, end up suicide too coz cannot help as much as they want to.. Its sad..its so sad.. Too many injustice on that tragedy.. Not only the ship crew but also the government who did covered it up..they wasting time by ask the student to wait there..only wait, and they keep waiting until the ship is sinking,,Eventho actually they have time to escape.. a lot of student body found with broken nails trying to go out thru thick window on last minute.. Its too sad. I am sorry..
BTS is known for their social consciousness around the world as well as in their own country and the way that they did this music video was not to get anybody upset but their underlying visuals showed their concern for the tragedy! The Sewol Ferry tragedy 450 people including over 300 students we’re going on a field trip, the government and the media completely purposely kept things from the parents 298 students lost their lives that day because of negligence to me it was a homicide when I completely read the whole story The media said Everything was OK when it wasn’t! The captain and the crew left the boat when an actuality the captain and the crew are supposed to be the last to be evacuated from any ship! the ferry boat was not in good condition to have so many passengers and the boat was sinking at an angle until it was completely submerged! In the documentary that I Watch gave more details about the tragedy especially the The president of South Korea was nowhere to be found at the time no one could reach her by that time there was no government assistance till it was too late! This tragedy ended up impeaching and removing the president of South Korea! All of the lies and coverups will never bring back those students who tragically lost their lives! And you have to commend BTS for making a music video where it Shows in a clever way of the injustice of that terrible tragedy! 💜
There is a documentary about the tragedy! You must watch it! One of the man who rescued some teenagers took his life after so much pain.He never forgotten that scene. So sad!
BTS never publicly acknowledged that this is what the song was about- I believe there was definitely fear of blacklisting and govt action at the time There is a documentary that is not too long that talks about the Ferry accident that is worth watching to understand how terrible it was. I have heard many Koreans- women and men of a variety of ages say this song is very special to them and they listen to it when they are feeling down etc.. I think that is why it is still on the Korean music charts after all these years. It holds a place to Korean people. It is a sad but somehow hopeful at the same time- I think it is a very special song.
RM was in a Park under a tree , he saw a leave fall and wrote this beautiful Queen of a song SPRING DAY 💜💜🙏🏻 This song has been on the korean Charts over 3 years now!!!💜
The dance choreography for this song is breathtaking (one more thing to watch 😁). Very contemporary & in the comeback show, the boys wear school uniform inspired outfits 😢.
When you begin to unravel what happened when the ferry capsized and its aftermath, it is even more unbelievable. Much of it was not known for months and even years because the gov't clamped down on the media. People lost their jobs just for mentioning it. That's why BTS is sooo amazing. They never mentioned the ferry in the song. They didn't have any ferry in the video. It got by the censors... but still everyone knew what this video was about. On the day the ferry sank, the president was MIA. For 8 hours. No one knew where she was. The coast guard was called much later. Parents were not given any information. Most live rescues were done by private fishing vessels. When the coast guard got there, they stopped all the rescues and wouldn't let anyone near the ferry. They rescued people/ bodies that were floating on top of the water, but refused to enter the ferry itself. We still don't know how many people were trapped inside. In the aftermath... lies were told to the parents, who waited for days. A tale of corruption at the highest levels slowly came to light. Since the ferry was 'rubber-stamped' through the permitting process, graft was suspected. This led to large scale protests against the gov't for media control, corruption, blacklists. The captain of the ferry was tried and sentenced to 3 years for manslaughter. Protests on a massive scale continued every weekend. Over 50 people tried re the corruption, and finally, in 2017 the gov't was toppled. Nutshell.
sadly I hadn't known about this tragedy at all before i got into bts, then i started to read more about it. amazing that they influence to do good by speaking & bringing up such serious topics and help the world acknowledge the injustice being done just a brief information, if any of you are interested: The passengers were teachers and pre-graduation students who took a trip in their last school summer. Only 172 of the 476 passengers were saved, and the remaining 304 died, 250 of which were teenagers aged 15-16. The court sentenced the captain to life imprisonment, convicted of mass murder. The tragedy was missmanaged by the previous government, families firstly were told that everyone was alive. BTS & Bighit secretly made a donation (it was discovered lately): 100 million won to support families. At some point money were needed to start the searches for child remain bodies because the government rejected to lift up the ship. Only two years later the government finally lifted up the ship after the president get impeachment cause of her corruption. The open support was a risk for famous people to get blacklisted & sued by the government due it was a taboo topic. That's probably why the MV is quite metaphorical. But helping people was always the most important thing to the boys and they keep it true to themselves Spring Day is the Longest Charting Song in MelOn History (korea's Biggest Streaming site) and is Still Charting. It's cherished a lot. If you want to know more deffinetly go and read about it, things like that shouldn't be forgotten. Also, the song & the MV could be interpreted in more different ways, the aim is to comfort those who need it. I hope y'all are doing great or working on making things better!
Another reason I truly love this group is because every song has substance, true emotions and is sung from the heart. No other group or individual other than Taylor Swift show their emotions through their music and lyrics. Well, she just sings about failed relationships while BTS sings about their struggles, emotions, tragedies, haters and most of all, for their fans to love and respect themselves as well as others. I’m sick of other artists just using lyrics that rhyme but give their music zero substance. That’s is what separates them from ALL other artists.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I really looked into this tragedy after first hearing this song and the explaination video by DKDKTV. One of the things that was so horrible, was that after the captain and crew were rescued, the coastguard pulled their ships back and refused to try to rescue anyone else. Fishermen went out in their own boats to try to help and were kept back away from the sinking ferry. all the while this was going on the frantic parents were screaming and crying at the docks begging for anyone to help. Divers even asked to go out to the ship to rescue any that might have found air pockets to survive in, but were kept away, being told it was too dangerous and there wouldn’t be any survivors. A few fishermen got to the ship and saw kids beating on the windows begging for help. They tried anything they could to break the windows, but couldn’t get to many. All the while the coast guard sat in their ships refusing cries to help. I have NEVER been so sickened by such insidious and horrific behavior. The fact that BTS made this song and that it has never left the charts, becoming a national treasure speaks volumes for how hard this tragedy affected Korea and still does. The fans call this song the “Queen” Suga referred to it as the zombie song that wouldn’t die
BTS layers their songs. The MV, the lyrics, even the beats/melodies. This allows people to dive as deep as they personally want to, from just thinking a song is a bop/banger to being army and search for the deeper meanings/theories. So, it’s great to simply like a BTS song, and it’s also great to go deeper. Don’t downplay your own interpretation. That’s one thing BTS encourages these moments of reflection. What you see/hear comes from your own experiences and thoughts. The explanation just gives you more... Edit: besides remembrance, this song encourages us to have hope that “spring” will come. Survive. Survive for the promise of a spring day in your own future.
This song and the explanation video are really good to suggest to people who want to know WHY BTS are special and different. They handled a really hard topic with dignity and grace while trying to spread awareness about a horrid tragedy that could have been avoided. What breaks my heart the most is those kids COULD have gotten out if they didn't listen blindly to the people in charge. IE: the captain and crew. I don't see it mentioned a lot but my take away from the laundry scene other than the clock showing the time the ferry went down but Jin is seen through the window of the washing machine which is circular - like a porthole in a boat before it starts turning back and forth to mimic what happened with the ferry. I dare anyone to watch both of these videos and not get emotional at the end. These boys are true artists who aren't afraid to speak out against injustice and I admire them beyond words most of the time.
Because of finding out the meaning of the song and the meaning behind the music video actually broke me over a year ago when I was a newer fan. Instead of making me into the song, it actually made me avoid it. Because it made me depressed thinking about it. Later when BTS released the “lovely” version of their dance practice (which is just them having lighthearted fun during practice), it helped me a bit to get over the sadness and enjoy the song for what it is. With the Class of 2020 performance, it gives me new meaning and acceptance of the hope that comes with it. I love them and love this song which is a masterpiece. Anyway, there’s a reason why I myself don’t usually recommend Spring Day early on for newer fans (not until later), just because of my first reaction to the explanation, even though I think it’s good we should understand the meaning eventually. That’s the thing about BTS songs, you can totally relate to it even though you may not initially know what inspired it.
The song is more relateable now in our situation...we cannot see each other because the pandemic, and we miss each other and can do anything as usual...we missed people a lot
Spring day video just makes me hug every single one in my family even tighter and to not forget to tell them how much I love them. You’ll never know when’s last time you’ll ever see them again. Never take their presence for granted.
i love this song with all my heart. i can't listen to it without crying and its one of the first songs i heard of BTS'. and i decided that i would be a part of this fandom always.
That's why I love BTS they are not just an ordinary kpop group, they are far away from everybody. I'm gonna support them always. Thanks for been so kind, honest with your reaction. I love that!!! 💜
When they performed Spring Day recently at the UA-cam 2020 Graduation Party ppl were surprised but also confused bc they haven’t performed it in 3 years and it’s not a song they’ve promoted internationally however a fan pointed out that had those kids that died in the tragedy survived they would be graduating this year from university and so it’s seemed like BTS performed the song after 3 years in tribute to them.
That's why I like BTS. Music is the only means of expression they have found to express themselves (dixit Namjoon) In each of their songs there is a message. Whether it's related to the parallel Bangtan Universe or for the Army or against the system. In a committed song there's "N.O." (for the school system), "Go go" (for the over-consumption and dumbing down of young people), "Not Today" (against minorities), "Am I Wrong" (against corruption) and not forgetting all the haters! I am proud to support them! Thank you for your very interesting and sincere comments!
BTS is definitely more than just an idol boyband. They are artists in the truest, deepest meaning and essence of the word. Thank you for appreciating their work and recognizing their talent.
Not to be overly tangential as this song and explanation literally on every listening brings up tears, but I am thinking how is it that in America an ongoing tragedy of lives being suddenly lost (almost 150,000 at the point of this writing), families thrown into chaos (over 4 million affected), and government cover up and mismanagement doesn't evoke much emotion in us for the individuals who are physically and emotionally suffering? Here they are statistics more so than individuals afflicted by tragedy. There is no real call not to forget them. So as Americans our hearts are broken with Sewol and BTS's multifaceted tribute, but in the US the occurrence of large scale tragedy is deemed more or less part of the landscape. Perhaps it wasn't sudden enough, but hurricanes are not particularly sudden and we feel for the victims. I don't know but Spring Day which never fails to rip at my heart also makes me contemplate why Americans cry over somethings, even fairly removed things, yet do not experience other similar things in the same way. Just thinking out loud. Love your feeling to one of BTS's deepest songs/music videos.
That’s why I love BTS, their music is not just music, it’s on another level. People who think BTS are just pretty boys who make little girls scream couldn’t be more wrong!
This song got me to appreciate them even more.. there is no end to their love and ability to bring things to life so beautifully.. I fell in love with them after Spring Day.
This is why BTS is great. Spring Day never left the charts and is still being played randomly in public spaces; not only cos it sounds good, but also for the public to not forget about the tragedy, to keep the victims in their hearts and mind, so hopefully this can never happen again.
I love love LOVE your reactions man!!!! 💜💜💜 I think the meaning of this song even though it is very sad, is in memory of the people who died, and at least BTS has done something very worthy, very beautiful to remember them. But I'm of the opinion that the interpretation, what makes us feel a song, varies from person to person and can change from the original sense, and that's ok. When I hear this song... yes, it is sad, but it seems wonderful to me, it moves my heart and makes me think that I am lucky to be alive, to have my daughter with me ... I hope I have made myself understood 😁 my english is veeery bad... BORAHAE 💜💜💜
I can´t believe. I am the first visit in your channel. This is 12.00 a.m. Midday. in my country. I enjoy to song at the beginning, thank you. . I don´t want to lose any details again. Thank you for your fast reaction after yesterday "Spring day". Love this song. We should not forget that tragedy. RM and Suga wrote the song. From Argentina. (Agust D2 "Dear My friend" is sad too.) but I love "First love" and "Fire. Please, Next reaction!!!
I need a review of ''Parasite'' from you , tell us when you're going to watch it [also a tip for you , go blind into this experience , don't even watch the trailer for the movie you'll thank me later ] it might seem dull at the beginning but the whole thing it's a metaphor ...and have lot of deep meaning in it
Thank you Ang for the reaction! BTS have always stood up for the youths eversince they were youths themselves and they have never shy away from oppressive matters like societal hierarchy and the govt slip ups and the boomer generational power trips. They have not exactly say it out loud , but their music have always told us what they feel about the society and that's why people are hating on them for it. They just cannot believe that an idol KOREAN group is changing the world by the power of their music ONLY and wishes to push the narratives that the boys cant think for themselves. They have shown us time and time again that they are here to stay for the long run and they are here to change the world. The company actually gave them the artistic creative freedom to talk about the society/what they are feeling at that moment through their music and i am so glad that someone is actually doing that. They are leading this generation and we are here to help them achieve it. The medias and and radio stations have always bashed them for being korean but i love that they ARE korean but they talk about the world issues as well.
After hearing how they stood up for the families by writing this song and donating money even though the government was Black listing any group/actors/actresses that spoke out against them made me respect them Especially since they were just starting up around that time and their company was close to bankruptcy, their integrity, grace and humbleness always speaks volumes.
Nice reaction glad you understand now. When I heard this song for the 1st time I felt hopeful and bittersweet. And learning more I was astounded too. So glad they shined a light on this. Terrible thing that happened and we should not forget. I love hearing this song. Feels! -baby Army Brklyn, NY
Spring Day explanation was one of the first thing I've watched after starting to get interested in BTS and I just knew that those guys are very special. Not only as musicians but as humans too💜
Thank You for reaction Spring Day...BTS Our Queen Songs Our Kings...amazing, unique lyrics... ferry SEWOL Tragedy many people... The tragic death of mainly young people... Music, compose and MV... Emotional, beautiful, sad scenery... I'm crying..always... SEWOL...We Remember... Be Safe Everyone
안녕 I'm so happy for your reaction 😍 Now you start to understand why BTS is so special for us, they have a unique way to communicate and connect with people. They are truly artists, with a deep sense of human responsibility. Every song that you ear has the ability to change your mind. They really talk to ours hearts. I love them so much and I have an infinite proud of them. And I have so much proud of you. You must stay strong and keep who you are. We love you and support you. Don't forget that we are here for you. Lots of love from Portugal 🇵🇹💜
Thanks for reminding me this song again. I love all BTS songs and it is hard to listen Spring day often, I played all their albums on playlist. So it takes time to back to Spring Day. Whenever I watch Spring Day, I am always tearing up. But I'm willing to watch Spring Day reaction over and over again to remember those kids. I love this song so much and respect BTS sooooo much!
Love watching your videos. You’re the real deal. BTS ARMY are also the real deal. Very deep, intelligent and insightful people. The music and the meaning behind the songs is very special to us. Almost like a secret code or secret club. But all you really need to do to be accepted is just appreciate and respect the boys for the amazing artists and people that they are. 💜 Thank you for giving them a chance and for your sincerity.
Hi Ang! I'm so glad you don't have to go so long not understanding how truly important this song and MV are and the true meaning behind them. I remember when the Seowal (sp?) tragedy happened. For two years I just loved this song. I thought it was gorgeous and kinda sad but dang...I had no idea it was about the ferry accident and I cry every damn time I see it. I will never see this song or MV the same again. GREAT reaction, as always, cause you're real, man. Thanks!!
The explanation video for Spring day is a masterpiece and deserves an award! The piano instrumental 🎵 is so beautiful that I consider it to be the true essence of this poignant tribute. Your reaction to this is similar to how I reacted when finding out what the song was really about. There's usually more than one meaning behind BTS songs. I learn so much from other Army's who mention the real deal in the comments. Thank you ARMY 💜 I think that making the lyrics reflect loss, yet having the mv clearly send the message about the Sewol tragedy is pure genius. This is one of the many reasons I have delved further down the BTS rabbit hole 🕳 since first falling in Feb this year. Thanks again for another great reaction. I hope you will soon be able to get 3 more strings for your guitar 🎸 Borahae 💜
I learn so much as a human being from your videos. I used to not be able to put words and define the way I feel some time, but what your saying in your videos is so relatable and true
ARMYs have probably told you this already, but it is said that you find BTS when you need someone like them the most. I've never had a "phase" as a teen, I've never cared about celebrities, singers, bands. I loved music, especially rock, but I wasn't interested in the artists themselves, I didn't consider myself a fan of anyone, I just wanted to listen and enjoy some songs. I'd known about BTS' existence since 2013 and again, didn't care. But then, during a really crappy period of my life, I found them again, by accident. I used to watch a vlogger, she used one of their songs in the background and I fell in love at first listen. I didn't plan on anything, I wanted to be just a casual listener, as usual, but I fell. Deep. In the hole. Now I am 25 and I'm a BTS fan because everything they do, everything they stand for, everything they ARE is exactly what I want to be surrounded by at the moment. They've inspired so many people to do good, to share, to love, it's truly amazing and I'm glad I am here to witness all of this, I am glad I am on this side, their side, and I get to admire these seven men who speak to me through their art like no one has ever done. Thank you for giving them a chance! It means a lot to us. Have a great day!
There is nothing superficial about BTS lyrics/mv. They really hit the feels, thank you very much for your reactions. Now do a fun/ happy one you’ve earned it.😁💜
BTS not just a group, theyre voices, and ARMY not just fans like others but also we active on charity or donation, BTS and ARMY not superhuman but were ANPANMAN who trying do and giving the best for lives, trying to spread message to help each others, army fight for bts to get top is not just for their popularity but we know they have something (voices) impact to open more people eyes in this blind world, were not perfect family, but together we trying to be better human and community💜 even just slowly and step by step we'll trying to spread our wings
And RM wrote this song while sitting in a park thinking of those missing their loved ones. When people finally understand BTS they realize they are so much more than music. They are true artists. Many of their songs have more meaningful, deep messages. I'm always so impressed by how deep the members of BTS are. You should finish the trifeca and react to Spring Day Live. The choreography is beautiful.
Ang thank you for these 2 amazing reactions. I ‘like’ before even watching them. I had my mind blown years ago when I watched the explanation and more respect for BTS. There is another video by Italian army which you can view at your own leisure for better understanding of the Sewol tragedy. For deep meaningful lyrics, always BTS. Thanks 💜💜💜
This song did touch me a lot .. Every time I see I can't help but tear up .. Thanks for reacting to the video and explanation. I feel the same... I couldn't believe it. But every time that day comes, the artists remember him. And we as armys too ..
I'll agree😂 couple songs more and I'd even buy an album of yours Sir! But only after BTS upcoming comeback and new album coming in August, I'm saving up😂 but AFTER that, drop the EP sir!🤩
This is one of many reasons why i love them and why Armys love them so much💜 I was so shocked as well when i watched the explanation video and i cried knowing what happened .. BTS is the Best💜 Thank you again for reacting to those videos, Genuine Buddy😊💜
You made me smile a lot with your billy Jean mash up 🤣. Spring is THE queen of their discography! Even if you don’t got the time to make a. Idea you should watch the dance practice and the comeback stage for spring day, the are so cool (if you didn’t already, sorry If I didn’t notice. Edit: just saw that you did a video for the live!). The scene with Jin standing at the bottom of the staircase taking a foto with his hands is also a part of the storyline of the Bangtan Universe, I am pretty sure. I recommend Snowpiercer a lot! It’s a great movie!
I was happy to see a notification for your new reaction video when I got home today. Need something to cheer me up. It's just one of those days where one stupid little thing got me stressed out so hopefully this will help me chill while I drink my iced coffee. I remember when I watched the explanation for this video, so sad. I love BTS having meanings in their lyrics.
I completely understand what you were saying about memories and thoughts. "if you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present." ~Loa Tzu Only the present exists, unfortunately we feel the need to live in a time that does not exist. We are uncomfortable living in peace due to attachment of an experience or an outcome. Once you release attachment, that is when you begin to live in the moment, the one and only time that truly exists 💜💜
Your interpretation was great as well, because it's yours and, most importantly, is authentic to you! Although those explanation videos are excellent and give you new insights, what YOU really see and feel by yourself is so precious. And that's the most important thing about their music and art, feeling emotions and relating, but also always finding something new💛
Spring Day has never left the Melon charts for more than 3 years now. (Korea doesn't have Spotify so Melon charts is the most popular streaming platform in Korea)
It is the longest charting song in Melon charts 'history and I heard that it is still often randomly played on coffee shops and other public places. Sort of like a daily reminder maybe.
Armys call it queen Spring Day, Suga calls it zombie. Haha Maybe because it will probably never die and leave the charts.
I love your reactions. One of the most genuine reactors I've seen here. ☺️💜
cool
Thanks for showing that tough guys can like BTS and I love watching your journey, which id the same one I took last year. I learned their videos create a fictional storyline. It was crazy when I watched it.
All of these music videos should be the Korean version, not Japanese.
I NEED U MV (19+ version… the censored version cuts out a lot of the storyline)
On Stage: Prologue VCR
Run MV
Epilogue: Young Forever MV
WINGS short films (These are critical! Make sure to find versions with English subtitles!)
Blood Sweat & Tears MV
Love Yourself Highlight Reel
Spring Day
wow so interesting!
In the letters written by the family to their lost children this expression is used a lot.)
They couldn't say how they felt about the tragedy but they managed to spread their message in such a beautiful way as always!
Thats why i stan bts there not also an idol. They artist. So many songs to be reason why i love them the message and the lyrics so inspirational
so true, they are not kpop idols
Some facts:
- There is a speculation that the captain let the ferrry to helplessly sink because the ferry carried the overload amount of goods/stuff (presumably even illegal stuff) that were not reported prior to the departure.
It represented how thew were not able to enjoy the Spring Days due to this pandemic.
dang did not hear that.
Spring Day is the queen of the charts for good reasons!
i love your explanation! goodjob ami! and the captain actually committed suicide after that incident because he felt too guilty.
Also bts actually donated the the victim famillies. Along with the song..they risked being punished.
When bts say that they are affraid of losing themselves not the fame.. The y mean it because they don't only show this with words but actions as well.
Spring day makes me emotional every time. Even before I understood what it was about, it still hit hard.
Soo sad!!! Glad they helped!!!:'(
That's sad omg😭
Not sure if it's because of me being over-emotional and stressed out nowadays but I really cried watching the explanation. Yes, I've been an army for 4 years now but still, bts manage to make me respect them to a higher level everyday
Same here! 🙏🏻💜
i feel u
I literally cry everytime i see it
BTS is really telling stories in societies in best possible ways. I would recommend Baepsae & Spine Breaker next.. fun songs, but meaningful.. thank u for the reaction💜
Yeah! Baepsae and Spinebreaker would be great 🤩👍🏻💜
Ditto! Great suggestions for vids speaking out about societal suppression.
Yes, hopefully he reacts to bapsae dance practice and explanations
@@carovp8219 👍🏻💜
Oh yes. Definitely a good couple of songs. ❤
Thank you 🙏❤️
BTS are so different from a lot of other artists.
I still get goosebumps when i remember the audios of the kids who were traped in the ferry calling their parents before they died, its one of the most heartbreaking things ive heard in life
@@carlaa2207 I don't think I could listen to them, that's too heartbreaking. I'm not surprised he killed himself, all that guilt and shame.
The meaning behind it really hits me 😥
May all the departed souls Rest in Peace 🙏
the way you interpret or give insights to the mvs really amaze me.👏 this is one of the reasons why I like your channel.
Thank you for this fast reaction . We're getting spoiled here too 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I feel like I’m the spoiled one, thank you 💜🤗
This is one of the reasons why so many adults love BTS, it's refreshing to see a group of young men speaking up, complaining and questioning things.
Outsiders will never understood, unless they give them a chance.
I have been waiting for this reaction. Thank you. From J-ARMY 🇯🇵
Thank you ❤️💜🔥
It never fails.
There has never been an artist who can do this to me.
that is a good one too... so many .... they are so special...
"you remember the fun and the thrill, and to think how it's over." 😭
BTS is known for their social consciousness around the world as well as in their own country and the way that they did this music video was not to get anybody upset but their underlying visuals showed their concern for the tragedy!
GGGUUUUYSSSS A REMINDERRRR
KEEEEP VOTING ON CHOEAEDOL AND STARPLAY ,,WE ARE LOOSING ,,ARMMMY ITS TIME TO PAY BACK ,BUCKLE UP
The depth of their artistry is unmatched....they use their platform to address so many injustices...I knew you would appreciate it...💜💜💜💜💜💜
You know spring day hasn’t left out of the top 100 in the korean music chart since 4 years or so.
😔 Heavy, tragic heartbreaking....but remember we must. Now go listen to something uplifting
I'm with you. This song is so deep, and heart-wrenchimg that I think am upbeat BTS song is I order...
RM was in a Park under a tree , he saw a leave fall and wrote this beautiful Queen of a song
SPRING DAY 💜💜🙏🏻
This song has been on the korean Charts over 3 years now!!!💜
The dance choreography for this song is breathtaking (one more thing to watch 😁).
Nutshell.
sadly I hadn't known about this tragedy at all before i got into bts, then i started to read more about it. amazing that they influence to do good by speaking & bringing up such serious topics and help the world acknowledge the injustice being done
just a brief information, if any of you are interested:
The passengers were teachers and pre-graduation students who took a trip in their last school summer.
But helping people was always the most important thing to the boys and they keep it true to themselves
Spring Day is the Longest Charting Song in MelOn History (korea's Biggest Streaming site) and is Still Charting. It's cherished a lot.
If you want to know more deffinetly go and read about it, things like that shouldn't be forgotten.
Also, the song & the MV could be interpreted in more different ways, the aim is to comfort those who need it. I hope y'all are doing great or working on making things better!
I literally cried throughout the video. Thanks for taking the time to understand the video and the lyrics. They are wonderful and talented people. 💜
That's why I love BTS songs, they have deep meaning.
Love your feeling to one of BTS's deepest songs/music videos.
this is a very compelling and convincing fan theory
That’s why I love BTS, their music is not just music, it’s on another level. People who think BTS are just pretty boys who make little girls scream couldn’t be more wrong!
This song got me to appreciate them even more.. there is no end to their love and ability to bring things to life so beautifully.. I fell in love with them after Spring Day.
This is why BTS is great. Spring Day never left the charts and is still being played randomly in public spaces; not only cos it sounds good, but also for the public to not forget about the tragedy, to keep the victims in their hearts and mind, so hopefully this can never happen again.
Bts are so meaningful and I think that's why they're so great 💜
I love love LOVE your reactions man!!!!
Thank you ❤️💜
I need a review of ''Parasite'' from you , tell us when you're going to watch it [also a tip for you , go blind into this experience , don't even watch the trailer for the movie you'll thank me later
] it might seem dull at the beginning but the whole thing it's a metaphor ...and have lot of deep meaning in it
Thank you Ang for the reaction!
So happy you are reacting to BTS and realize that they are more than just a typical boy band. They are so much more than that.
After hearing how they stood up for the families by writing this song and donating money even though the government was Black listing any group/actors/actresses that spoke out against them made me respect them
Especially since they were just starting up around that time and their company was close to bankruptcy, their integrity, grace and humbleness always speaks volumes.
Not only as musicians but as humans too💜
Thank you for your reaction to this! I was so hoping for this! 💜
....... loving your reactions! 👍😊💜

Now you start to understand why BTS is so special for us, they have a unique way to communicate and connect with people.
Great reaction. Thank you for your kind words. The song is very impactful and amazing. Keep going!
Thanks!!
Yep....So much for captains going down with her ship!
Messed up, they’re horrible!
These guys Videos are like Pink Floyd for the eyes.
Thank you for reacting to this. It’s one of many, many great songs.
Leave it to the BOYS to bring it to light !!!
and we can now appreciate this song in a beautiful
way!!!! thank you
I learn so much as a human being from your videos. I used to not be able to put words and define the way I feel some time, but what your saying in your videos is so relatable and true
Awh thank you
You are currently my favorite BTS reactor..always looking forward to your reactions.. More power and God bless
Yesss 😊😊😊
I so love your heartfelt responses. You are one of the good ones. You nice. Keep going. Fighting.
Thanks for you honest reaction as always, this song is very special and powerful. Send you a hug 💜✨
Not gonna lie, i’d like a full version of that Billie Jean rendition👏🏼
Maybe next video lol I’ll do it with my 6 string guitar next time 😂😂 ( I’m missing some strings)
Mad Ang i’ll be patiently waiting😂
I'll agree😂 couple songs more and I'd even buy an album of yours Sir! But only after BTS upcoming comeback and new album coming in August, I'm saving up😂 but AFTER that, drop the EP sir!🤩
Six strings would be great!
Amethyst Arthur I agree 😂😂🤘🏼
This is one of many reasons why i love them and why Armys love them so much💜 I was so shocked as well when i watched the explanation video and i cried knowing what happened .. BTS is the Best💜 Thank you again for reacting to those videos, Genuine Buddy😊💜
I just found your channel but youll be surprised yo know that almost all of BTS Songs and videos have meanings like this. Love your reactions!
It’s a great movie!
i saw the videos of the students trapped inside. so absolutely heartbreaking. i was overwhelmed with sadness and sorrow. god bless their souls.
If you are at peace, you are living in the present." ~Loa Tzu
Only the present exists, unfortunately we feel the need to live in a time that does not exist.
And that's the most important thing about their music and art, feeling emotions and relating, but also always finding something new💛
I just wanted to say to you, I'm so happy you are a part of ARMY. Your heart shines through the screen.
Awh ❤️ thank you
BTS is not just about music. They represent one way to help you live your life better 💜
Memories and future thoughts.... Intangible: definition, not tangible; incapable of being perceived by the sense of touch,
Thank you
This video is proof that BTS is special other Kpop idol groups wouldn't DARE talk about the problems in Korea outside of the music industry
This is my favorite song ever. Thank you for this!...watching from the hospital with my mom.💜
I was waiting for this. Hehe thank you! Still i wanna cry everytime i watched this mv. Please continue to love & support BTS. 💜💜💜
Great video today!! This has always been 1 of my favorite songs by them. It’s so emotional. 😃
