It would take you 2 yrs to watch all the content about BTS they are absolutely exceptional artists and humble humans. Watch Suga one of the rappers and PSY do their song 'That That'. Each member have done their own solo endeavours all fabulous and different genres too. Their fans are called ARMY (and I am one) are massive throughout the world and in Butter the guys made the word ARMY with their bodies as a tribute. All the guys are doing their mandatory military services atm and all will be out in 2025 when huge concerts are expected. There's no pop group like BTS they even spoke at THE UN about world youth issues and Pres Biden invited them to White House...also French, Italian and US luxury brands have BTS members as ambassadors.. please research how they started 13yrs ago it will impress you and you'll understand why these 7 guys are so loved appreciated and respected. I've left out so much about them but this is a quick overview. 48 year old ARMY from Norway here. BTS is short for Bangtan Sonyendan - Bulletproof Boyscouts. These are 7 gifted, hardworking artists who blend together to create an amazing whole. They write and produce a lot of their own music, and have contributed since the very start. Three rappers, four vocalists - but the rappers sometimes sings, and the singers sometimes rap - and even the worst dancers are better than many professionals. Recommend Fake Love, Black Swan, Fire, Dope... Also, recommend checking the time stamps on the videos - they've been doing this since 2013, they STARTED as "bad boys" with a lot of rap and hiphop, and have explored a number of different genres since, from straight pop to latin pop, R&B, neo soul, ballads and what not. You're in for a treat!

I’m not into KPOP, still not, but BTS got me into the rabbit hole. They aren’t just performers. They are also deep lyricists. So check out the English translation of Mic Drop. They each bring something to the team, & they’re always focused on the overall unified impact/messaging of a song. But individually, they are different & they each have their own strengths & musical vision/goal. There is so much to learn & enjoy from watching their performances, shows & lives.

3 rappers (RM & Suga were underground rappers pre-BTS and J-Hope was a street dancer) and 4 vocalists. The rap line write most of the group's songs (esp RM, the leader). J-Hope is the dance leader, they do have choreographers then J-Hope teaches and drills them. BTS started in 2013 as a hip-hop group then became more and more diverse - they do it all. Don't expect any other K-pop group to be like them though - BTS were always outliers and had to overcome a lot to succeed. I'm 70 and I jump for joy when I hear BTS. I even have 4 large framed photos of them so I can see them every day and so everyone that comes in my house can see them so I can introduce them to, hopefully, new fans. Turned my daughter and grandsons onto them and now they do the same thing. 💜

All of these are their real names, although some have stage names..* They are divided into two parts, there is the vocal line and rapline. * (In each Kpop group it will usually always be like this*) The rapline: 1 Kim NAMJOON (better known as RM and the leader of the group) 2 MIN YOONGI(better known as suga, AGUST D) 3 JUNG HOSEOK( better known as jhope, He is also the dance leader and subvocalist) The vocaline: 1- KIM SEOK JIN 2- KIM TAEHYUNG 3- PARK JIMIN 4- JEON JUNGKOOK( he is the maknae,, born in 97).. BTS beyond this k-pop. I have never seen such a diversity in the discography, both solo and group, from anyone. Always pay attention to the lyrics, this is their main component along with beautiful music. You just need to learn about them gradually and not make any categorical conclusions about them. BTS is 7 very different, talent artists, over 11yrs in music industry (2 of them made music even before BTS). They have 300+ (400+?) songs, solos, units, collabs, (allso japanese, english), singles, solo albums, OSTs (original soudtrack to movie/serie)... BTS has variety shows, dance practice, award shows, behind making MVs, docu series (Disney+, Prime video)... they have been involved their music (and careers) from begining (what was/still is quite rare in k-pop). Being born and raised in the west, I started off my BTS journey being prejudiced, assuming the band consisted of “soft boys” because the first few songs I listened to were super poppy, and like boy with love was very pink. As I dove deeper, I realized these guys are savage af in real life and I began to fall hard for them. Their songs have deeper meaning than you would think. Often times 3+ layers deep. Which I wasn’t used to because the music nowadays is all about who has more $$, who gets more P or D, etc etc…took my brain a little bit of training to interpret all the layers but now I feel smarter 😁. Bts is known for their diversity in music. You’ll be blown away by when u get into their solos…they’re all so different yet they work so well together. And YES! Bts is a beast on stage. Don’t get me wrong, other groups have great dancers and singers, but the energy level and passion on stage, BTS is on a different level Their discography is 500+ songs including the solos and the members wrote the majority of their songs. Even if they didn’t write it, they had a heavy hand in the creative process. They are very involved in what they want to do and be as artists. For example, jungkook (jk for short) has aspirations to be a global pop star. In his recent album “golden” he experimented with different pop styles of different eras. Whereas RM went the Indy experimental route. The rest of the members went totally different paths too There are 7 members. 6 of them are currently fulfilling their mandatory military enlistment. The eldest member Jin just completed his in June. The next one is jhope who will complete his service next month, and the remaining members will complete theirs next June. They prerecorded sooooooo many songs, albums, content for the fans while they’re in “hiatus” it’s ridiculous. Their work ethic is unmatched. The amount of content they’ve released while they were/are “on a break” is more than some artists release in their entire career and none of it are fillers. Everything is high quality stuff Bts has been snapping up new fans even while in military. They were already selling out stadium world tours in 2018….when they come back in 2025 and plan for their comeback world tour, it’s going to be the hunger games to grab concert tickets. With BTS, everything is deep. Their lyrics, their music videos... Everything is meaningful and has a reason behind everything. And they love their fans so so much
BTS began in 2013, so there is a massive back catalogue of music for you to explore. BTS is not like pop bands we have in the west, they started as a hiphop group, but now cover many genres of music, including rap, pop, latin pop, edm, hip hop and much more. A lot of their best music is in Korean, so just put your subtitles on as the lyrics are very meaningful. They write, compose and produce their own music and write about social issues like mental health, social anxiety, societal expectations on young people and self love. The group is made up of 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, all extremely talented and experienced, with rappers starting in the underground scene, dancers in street/contemporary dance, but from early ages. Basically, most of them started in their musical endeavours at young ages, as they are now all late 20s to 30. They are all undertaking mandatory military service in South Korea at the moment (apart from Jin, who has just been discharged). They undertook solo projects just before they enlisted, but will be back together as a group mid 2025, when they all have finished military. BTS have always had solo projects and it doesn’t mean they disbanded, but it is just a way to enable the individual members to express their own individuality and style, so when they are a group, they are still bringing this together as a whole. BTS have global fandom, called Army, with approximately 90 million people of all ages as fans across the world, most definitely not just young girls as is often assumed as the stereotype. Ages range from 20s to 70s for both men and women, because they are not a boy band that is just writing about love. In fact, if they write about love, it is usually multi layered and is not about romantic relationships, but self love etc. Just a small warning, in any fandom of this size, there are a tiny minority of solo stans and antis who can be a bit toxic, but the overall majority are supportive and are attracted to the BTS message of positivity and self love. They sell out stadiums globally as the biggest group in the world currently (not just the biggest Korean group). If you want to really see how diverse and talented they are, you need to watch/listen to their korean songs. They made 3 english songs during the pandemic to cheer people up, but the korean ones are amazing and I prefer them. They are also known for their dancing, as they have a lot of complex and difficult choreography, which adds to the spectacular MVs and live performances. Some MV's to start: Black Swan, Fake Love, Idol, DNA, On Kinetic Manifesto, Dope, Fire, Not Today, Airplane pt 2, Save Me. Live performances to start: Festa 2021, Tiny Desk, MMA 2019, Proof Live 2022. Rap line songs to start: Ugh, Outro Series, Cypher series, Born Singer, Baepsae (Silver Spoon). Vocal Line songs: House of Cards, The Truth Untold. There are also a lot of videos of their dance practices if you like the choreography. Just look up Bangtan TV you tube site and there is a playlist. To learn more about their backgrounds and a bit of their personalities and of course their names, it is really worth watching an introduction video. The Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mairi has the best summary and snapshot into them as a group and individuals, in my opinion. The members are: RM (Kim Namjoon) - rap Suga or Agust D (Min Yoongi) - rap J Hope (Jung Hoseok) - rap and vocals Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook) - vocals Jimin (Park Jimin) - vocals Jin (Kim Seokjin) - vocals V - (Kim Taehyung) - vocals All 7 members have recent solo projects as well as their older ones, which they undertook before entering the military, and which have been released either just before or throughout the period they are serving. 3 rappers (RM & Suga were underground rappers pre-BTS and J-Hope was a street dancer) and 4 vocalists. The rap line write most of the group's songs (esp RM, the leader). J-Hope is the dance leader, they do have choreographers then J-Hope teaches and drills them. BTS started in 2013 as a hip-hop group then became more and more diverse - they do it all. Don't expect any other K-pop group to be like them though - BTS were always outliers and had to overcome a lot to succeed. The members all have solo releases as well that are wildly different from each other yet all incredibly solid. There's a TON of content. Welcome to the rabbit hole, boys!

I'm 70 and I jump for joy when I hear BTS. I even have 4 large framed photos of them so I can see them every day and so everyone that comes in my house can see them so I can introduce them to, hopefully, new fans. Turned my daughter and grandsons onto them and now they do the same thing. 💜

BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan translated to Bulletproof Boy Scout; in English, it stands for BEYOND THE SCENES), is a South Korean group of three rappers and four vocalist, that debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. they are not only good looking boys. inspite being superstars, they remain to be soooo humble. and this is the very first reason I got into this rabbit hole.
BTS beyond this k-pop. I have never seen such a diversity in the discography, both solo and group, from anyone. Always pay attention to the lyrics, this is their main component along with beautiful music. You just need to learn about them gradually and not make any categorical conclusions about them. BTS is 7 very different, talent artists, over 11yrs in music industry (2 of them made music even before BTS). They have 300+ (400+?) songs, solos, units, collabs, (allso japanese, english), singles, solo albums, OSTs (original soudtrack to movie/serie)... BTS has variety shows, dance practice, award shows, behind making MVs, docu series (Disney+, Prime video)... they have been involved their music (and careers) from begining (what was/still is quite rare in k-pop). Being born and raised in the west, I started off my BTS journey being prejudiced, assuming the band consisted of “soft boys” because the first few songs I listened to were super poppy, and like boy with love was very pink. As I dove deeper, I realized these guys are savage af in real life and I began to fall hard for them. Their songs have deeper meaning than you would think. Often times 3+ layers deep. Which I wasn’t used to because the music nowadays is all about who has more $$, who gets more P or D, etc etc…took my brain a little bit of training to interpret all the layers but now I feel smarter 😁.
Bts is known for their diversity in music. You’ll be blown away by when u get into their solos…they’re all so different yet they work so well together. And YES! Bts is a beast on stage. Don’t get me wrong, other groups have great dancers and singers, but the energy level and passion on stage, BTS is on a different level
Their discography is 500+ songs including the solos and the members wrote the majority of their songs. Even if they didn’t write it, they had a heavy hand in the creative process. They are very involved in what they want to do and be as artists. For example, jungkook (jk for short) has aspirations to be a global pop star. In his recent album “golden” he experimented with different pop styles of different eras. Whereas RM went the Indy experimental route. The rest of the members went totally different paths too
There are 7 members. 6 of them are currently fulfilling their mandatory military enlistment. The eldest member Jin just completed his in June. The next one is jhope who will complete his service next month, and the remaining members will complete theirs next June. They prerecorded sooooooo many songs, albums, content for the fans while they’re in “hiatus” it’s ridiculous. Their work ethic is unmatched. The amount of content they’ve released while they were/are “on a break” is more than some artists release in their entire career and none of it are fillers. Everything is high quality stuff
Bts has been snapping up new fans even while in military. They were already selling out stadium world tours in 2018….when they come back in 2025 and plan for their comeback world tour, it’s going to be the hunger games to grab concert tickets. I’m confident to say they might even break Taylor’s world tour numbers

There’s a lot to unpack when it comes to BTS as now they’re doing their mandatory military service until 2025. But they’ve released their solo projects so you can check them out. And yes BTS are versatile artists and so good at different genres they got everything you need!

With BTS, everything is deep. Their lyrics, their music videos... Everything is meaningful and has a reason behind everything. And they love their fans so so much
BTS began in 2013, so there is a massive back catalogue of music for you to explore. BTS is not like pop bands we have in the west, they started as a hiphop group, but now cover many genres of music, including rap, pop, latin pop, edm, hip hop and much more. A lot of their best music is in Korean, so just put your subtitles on as the lyrics are very meaningful. They write, compose and produce their own music and write about social issues like mental health, social anxiety, societal expectations on young people and self love.
The group is made up of 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, all extremely talented and experienced, with rappers starting in the underground scene, dancers in street/contemporary dance, but from early ages. Basically, most of them started in their musical endeavours at young ages, as they are now all late 20s to 30. They are all undertaking mandatory military service in South Korea at the moment (apart from Jin, who has just been discharged). They undertook solo projects just before they enlisted, but will be back together as a group mid 2025, when they all have finished military. BTS have always had solo projects and it doesn’t mean they disbanded, but it is just a way to enable the individual members to express their own individuality and style, so when they are a group, they are still bringing this together as a whole.
BTS have global fandom, called Army, with approximately 90 million people of all ages as fans across the world, most definitely not just young girls as is often assumed as the stereotype. Ages range from 20s to 70s for both men and women, because they are not a boy band that is just writing about love. In fact, if they write about love, it is usually multi layered and is not about romantic relationships, but self love etc. Just a small warning, in any fandom of this size, there are a tiny minority of solo stans and antis who can be a bit toxic, but the overall majority are supportive and are attracted to the BTS message of positivity and self love.
They sell out stadiums globally as the biggest group in the world currently (not just the biggest Korean group). If you want to really see how diverse and talented they are, you need to watch/listen to their korean songs. They made 3 english songs during the pandemic to cheer people up, but the korean ones are amazing and I prefer them. They are also known for their dancing, as they have a lot of complex and difficult choreography, which adds to the spectacular MVs and live performances.

All 7 members have recent solo projects as well as their older ones, which they undertook before entering the military, and which have been released either just before or throughout the period they are serving.
Just to give you an idea of people they have collaborated with (either solo or as a group), Usher, Halsey, J Cole, Coldplay, Sia, Nicki Minaj, Charlie Puth, Steve Aoki, Anderson Paak, Wale, Warren G, Fall Out Boy, Lil Nas X and just recently RM has released 'Neva Play' with Megan Thee Stallion, plus more. Also if you like Psy, look up 'That That', which was produced by Suga of BTS and the MV has him in it as Psy persuaded him to rap on the track as well as produce. While undertaking their mandatory military service they are not permitted to do anything other than the military work, including promote their music and shows. They prepared music, travel and reality shows, picture books and documentaries before they enlisted, which are gradually being released over the 1.5 years they are away. So there is a lot of content, both recent and a back catalogue of about 300 songs.
