Honestly? I had never heard of BTS before my daughter started listening to them. I checked them out to make sure they were suitable for her to be listening to as she was only 10. To say I was surprised is an understatement. Not only did I fall in love with them myself (trust me, it's inevitable, just go with it), but I quickly realised that there isn't a single artist out there that I would rather her have as roll models than these 7 guys. Yes, on the surface they are amazing performers, but, when you look deeper, you will realise it's their messages of positivity, self love, acceptance, pushing for your goals despite what society expects of you, and many more, as well as their humble and down to earth personalities, that really makes me proud that these are the guys she looks up to. In the 2 years she has been an Army she has gone from a child that kept her likes and interests very much a secret from her peers (as she regularly, and still does, gets bullied for them) to one that is very unashamedly herself. Not only does she not care what others think of her anymore and is very confident in herself, but she stands up for what she believes in and refuses to let anyone feel alone. She attributes the change in herself to BTS, and I honestly couldn't be more proud. When I say you should be really happy that your daughters have these guys in their lives I really do mean it. It's also been amazing to connect with my daughter and have a common love for something, which I have to thank BTS for as well. I would highly recommend you checking out the video "THIS IS BTS - INTRODUCTION TO BTS PART 1" by XCeleste to just get a bit of an understanding as to where I'm coming from as it's much easier to see it for yourself. Their stories, their journeys and who they are as people are truly inspirational.

Your message was really touching to read. It made me smile and be even prouder for being a fan of theirs from the beginning to now and see all the different types of people they have reached and influenced. And to your daughter, she is a gem and very much beginning her life in the best way possible by just being more open and in expressing herself so early on in her life and that is just so amazing to hear.
      You should be so proud.
Thank you for sharing this! 💜

Another very good documentary (if a bit time-consuming; the segments are about half an hour each, there's six so far, and once you start you won't want to stop) is 'The Rise of Bangtan'. It gives a brief overview of K-pop and then takes the viewer through the boys' selection by Bit Hit, their training as hip-hop/rap idols, their debut, and the difficulties they had in taking on the established giants of the K-pop industry (SM, JYP and YG.) It's ARMY-made and still in progress, but very thoroughly and professionally put together.

I have listened to them on and off for a while, but have recently taken a deep dive into anything and everything BTS. I am a single mom of an 8 year old daughter. She was diagnosed as ADHD and level 1 Autistic. Getting that news was very hard and we had to make major life changes. I picked up BTS again and between the guys, the lyrics, and just everything with them, it has been very helpful. I even have my daughter listen to them. She may not understand what they say or mean right now, but the energy and feeling from the music speaks for itself.

Lol, it’s a little annoying how their most pop and colorful songs blow up in the US, while their hundreds of other songs are ignored by the media and radio stations. Although dynamite is one of my favorites, it doesn’t give the general public a look at what bts really is and what kind of music they create. I would say their discography is made up of hip hop, rnb, rap, pop, ballads, trap, and a little bit of rock.

    • @starglqm

It blowed up because it's an english song and it's upbeat. The general public loves the song and it's popular amongst them which is also part of the reason it's so big.

If you like rap you should check out DAECHITWA by Agust D (Suga’s solo rap), CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP by jhope ft Becky G. (it’s all filmed in 3 shots and all the effects you see are real), and PERSONA by RM to round out the rapper introduction (3 rappers). Then I’d recommend MIC DROP, CYPHERS 3&4, and DDAENG EXPLAINED (the wordplay is insane and you have to experience it). For fun end this series with the vocal line rapping DDEANG.
Then I’d dive into recent live performances of their older music. And for the vocal line (4 vocalists)-Jungkook is the lead vocal but they are all incredible. Tae has a low, dark, rich voice (SINGULARITY, WINTER BEAR)-Jimin lives in gorgeous high notes (FILTER, SERENDIPITY)-Jin is airy and ethereal (MOON, EPIPHANY)-and Jungkook is a RnB BEAST in my mind but he does it all (MY TIME, STILL WITH YOU, EUPHORIA)-he’s particularly well known on Twitter for covers of songs like NEVER NOT and 10,000 HOURS) I like PAPER HEARTS, WE DON’T TALK ANYMORE, and PURPOSE. Check out their solo work as you’d like but also you have to watch vocal line LIVE performances like PIED PIPER, DIMPLE, THE TRUTH UNTOLD, ZERO O’CLOCK, and HOUSE OF CARDS.
(Another reminder: live and subtitles. They are insane live.)
Next I’d suggest watching some super significant songs/ moments like: British ARMY surprising BTS by singing their song in Korean when it wasn’t scheduled (WEMBLEY YOUNG FOREVER) and LY:TEAR (context: the group contemplated disbanding and one of the rappers wrote the beat and they all wrote their own verses). I mean they pretty much always write their own shit but just FYI! Also remember to search for lyrics on live performances, you can always find a fan who has done it here on YT.
To round out your introduction you should watch an INTRO TO BTS video-there are a few you’ll find w/ tons of views that are a must since they’re all so freakishly talented. Kind of remind me of Wu-Tang, obviously the music is different but rather for their collection of people who have perfected their craft. And they grew together.
The first two members RM and SUGA (originally underground rappers) have been together almost 10 years. They were meant to debut as a hip hop group until they added singers. Jungkook, the youngest, was like 13-14 when he joined (15 in Korean age) and the members practically raised him. They even went to his high school entrance and graduation ceremonies-they’re now between the ages of 23-28.
GOOD LUCK! As you can see it’s quite the rabbit hole of a top quality body of work. 😅

I personally think one of bts’ main strengths is that they appeal to different age groups (I’m currently attending university and I know a lot of fans who are older than me), for their discography is so various! There are songs like dynamite, funky and care-free, but most of their songs are actually much deeper, mature and lyrics oriented: they always put meanings and thoughts into their work and that really shines through. Their discography is extremely varied. there are the poppy songs your daughters like and more hip hop/rnb/rock based songs as well, many times on the same album.
Also, there usually aren’t subtitles on live performances but you can get subtitles on music videos or look at lyric videos. They write and produce many songs, so their lyrics are truly well done and worth checking out😁

also, hi from a fellow metalhead! i actually currently play the guitar in an alt rock band, but when i was a few years younger, me and my uni friends had an amazing few years on the metal scene (my favorite crowd to perform to, ever). so naturally, most of what i listen to are the genres which i play, since i have to constantly be in shape :)
but Bts somehow creeped up on me, lol. my friends find it hilarious when riding in my car we go from Cirith Ungol or some other obscure metal band to a Korean pop band, lol. but it’s fun.
but you might not become as taken as i did with them, which is totally fine. i’m sure your daughters will appreciate your respect towards their interests, which is amazing in itself.

@@ashleyder9164 I love South Korean dramas & have been watching them since 2004. It's how I got into enjoying Kpop, tbh, because the dramas always have lit af OSTs, sung by Kpop idols, for the most part. Anyway, on NetFlix is a K-drama called 'It's Okay Not to Be Okay' where the main female lead happens to be a children's story book author and illustrator. All the books in the drama are animated and reminded me so much of the movie 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' in their styling & color texture. I love that animated movie so I wanted to know if these books actually exist. To that end, I discovered that the drama scriptwriter got hit up by South Korean citizens/fans over the book that they issued a set amount to promote the drama. At the time of the drama, there was no way to purchase them outside of South Korea. I discovered a company that purchases products on your behalf, and YES you can submit requests if the product isn't listed on their online website, and charge the customs fee and send them directly to you. I got all 5 children's books plus the both parts of the 2 part written script, in book form, of the drama from the company for $170 shipped within a week via DHL in perfect condition without any issues. Anyway, I noticed that this company does sell BTS Bomb lights and they're available. The website is called
Harumio. There are reviews of the company online. Of course, now you can get the books I bought from companies on Amazon, but they ship them USPS, UPS, or Fedex which, in the last year, have become way more unreliable than DHL. ...just saying.

BTS is a K-pop(Korean Pop) band made up of seven members, three rappers (RM, Suga, and J-hope) and four vocalists (Jimin, Jin, Jungkook, and V). They all write, compose, and produce for all of their albums and their most recent music video “Life goes on” was even directed by the youngest member, Jungkook). BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan which translates to Bulletproof Boy Scouts it also stands for Beyond the Scene. They are also known internationally as The Bangtan Boys. This name is incredibly meaningful because they said that it is their job to shield the youth of the world from the bullets that society rains down on them. They debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment, which is now Big Hit Labels, in Seoul, South Korea. It was originally supposed to be a Hip-hop group but the CEO of Big Hit, "Hitman" Bang, later decided to debut them as an idol group. Every member has solo work separated from the group. You should definitely check out some of their solo work, it is incredible. They were told that they wouldn't amount to anything and that they were untalented their entire careers. All seven members used to live in a single bedroom apartment together and even know after the extreme success they have achieved they still live in a three-bedroom apartment together, called the Bangtan Dorm, even though most of them own their own apartments. They said that it just doesn't feel right not being together and that they feel lonely without each other. They are all bonded through their hardships and are just a large family since they were put together when they were teenagers. The oldest being 20 and the youngest 15 at the time of debut in 2013. They almost never talk about the normal recycled romantic love and breakup cycle. Throughout all their songs they preach self-love, self-acceptance, female empowerment, mental health, and they also speak out against social injustices and so much more. They believe that lyrics are one of the most important parts of music and they strive to connect with all of their fans through their music and lyrics. They even have a fictional storyline that goes through their music video called the Bangtan Universe aka the BU. Along with their storyline, every single one of their albums follows the phases of life that the band members are going through at the time. For example, their first album '2 Cool 4 Skool' and it was about school, school boy crushes, and the expectations of adults, at the time of this album they were all still in school and their most current album, “BE” is about the pandemic and how they are getting through it and giving hope that we will come out the other side of this better than we were before. They are also incredibly prolific. They have 9 studio albums, 3 single albums, 11 compilation albums, and 6 EPs. That includes two full Japanese albums. They just got nominated for their first Grammy and have dominated the Billboard charts with three number ones in the last few months. They even held the number 1 and 2 spot for a while. While they are huge, I think it is important to mention that they are also some of the most humble people that you will ever meet. Jin, the oldest member and a vocalist, released a song called Abyss, for his 28th birthday, talking about how they are people more talented than him so he doesn’t feel that he deserves all of the praise that he is getting and it was eating him up inside. Thank you for giving bts a chance and reacting with an open mind.
P.S. Dynamite is in all English and it is their only all English single to date. That crazy upbeat peppy kind of song is a very small part of their discography.

With BTS’ lyrics your kids are in good hands! Most of their songs have deeper meaning, talk often about self-love, confidence, socio-political issues, psychology, philosophy and mental health awareness. BTS actually have made my nieces and nephews (12-16) more interested in Carl Jung and self-analysis and psychology since BTS last few albums were inspired by Carl Jung’s theories on individuation. My favorite trilogy (3) album from them is the Love Yourself where the albums are connected by a theme of discovering self-love. BTS also created a Love Myself Campaign with UNICEF to protect children against violence and bullying. Part of the proceeds from these 3 albums goes to the campaign. They have sad songs but BTS have a hero’s journey theme usually where problems get resolved. lol Dynamite not my favorite style from BTS either, but it is just a fun song and it’s on my cardio workout playlist haha. Lucky us BTS does so many different genres and have over 200+ songs so there’s something for everyone. I mainly listen to BTS’ rap, hip hop, R&B, edm and rock tracks. Since you like metal I think you’ll like “Dionysus”, “Not Today”, “Fake Love”, “Mic Drop, “Interlude:Shadow”, “Fire”, “Outro:Tear”. Glad you’re giving BTS a try and hopefully it’ll help you bond even more with your daughters. 💜

i don't get what's wrong with discussing mental health issues in music, especially the negative parts of it which includes suicidal ideation when one feels extremely hopeless. it's surely confrontational but there should be nothing wrong with listening to music that discusses these subjects - it helps to normalise feeling this way and show people that they're not alone.

For the meanings of the songs:
Black Swan is about the fear of losing your passion for what you love to do. For BTS, that's music. Black Swan is a masterpiece 😍 You'd be surprised to see how psychological many of BTS' concepts are.
ON is basically a song to say "bring the pain on". It's a declaration that they won't stop working hard, they're ready for the hardships, bring it on, this is what they want to do.
Life Goes On is the lead single from their newest album that talks about their feelings during the pandemic. The song's message is clear from the title - it's purpose is to heal everyone during these impossibly difficult times.
Dynamite is the first and only English single they have. They didn't write the song themselves, which is actually really rare for them. It wasn't planned really (they were supposed to be on tour), but they heard it and wanted to release it to spread joy and happiness to fans during this covid situation.

So, all music videos on the official BigHit channel (BitHit is their label and the YT is Big Hit Labels. They also have a personal channel called BangtanTV) have english subtitles available. Unfortunately award shows and live performances rarely do. If you want a good reliable place for accurate subtitles I would suggest Doolset Bangtan (doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com). She has lyric translations for BTS and all their solo work and she also includes explanations for any cultural references or wordplay that get's lost in translation. I'm not sure how deep your daughters interest in BTS goes (if they just enjoy the songs/music videos/dances, or if they go deep into the lyrics and universe that BTS has created) but either way, there are no better role models for your kids than BTS. I am not going to type out an essay on BTS, partly because some ARMY's may be doing that as I speak and I don't want to be redundant, but also because I'm a big believer in experience the full journey for yourself if you want. This may sound hyperbolic but discovering BTS has been nothing short of life changing for me personally, but it's also valid if your interest is purely to see what your daughters are listening to.
If you are interested in their story I would recommend The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS from The Asian Theory, or This Is BTS Part 1 by xCeleste. I also would recommend watching both speeches they've given at the United Nations (one was back in 2018 and the other just a few months ago and are both on UA-cam) and their Class of 2020 commencement speech. They are great speakers who are offering a lot of wisdom and comfort to the world.

The mic-y lights the fans (ARMYs) are holding are BTS's official lightsticks (ARMY Bombs). They're usually used at live events and concerts to cheer them on (kind of like a futuristic version of a lighter lol) and they can even be connected via bluetooth to all be in sync so the lights can all change to the same colours and go with the beat of the performance.
BTS are known to try a lot of different genres so you could like a lot of their songs even if they're not the same your daughters may love lol The songs they performed here were all from this year: Black Swan (although that was the orchestral version, the actual song on the Map Of The Soul: 7 album is different, you should check it out), ON (from Black Swan0s same album), Life Goes On (their most recent single, the album, BE, only came out a few weeks ago) and Dynamite.
If you'd like to listen to their songs with lyrics, you can watch their official music videos for their singles (on the channel Big Hit Labels) and turn on CCs, or read fan translations on a site I'll leave in the comment down here (they're brilliantly detailed whenever something gets lost in translation and they're much better translated than "lyric videos" we find on UA-cam tbh).
Ps: a member was actually missing cause he had a surgery in November so he hasn't been able to participate in recent performances. You can see they had some empty spaces during some parts of their choreographies and they didn't sing his parts live.

None of my kids are into Kpop, but they listen when I listen. My husband rolls his eyes whenever Dynamite comes on bc I've been looping the BE album. Once you listen with the song lyrics (closed captions) and watch some of the behind the scenes videos (on BangtanTV channel), you will understand why so many ppl in the world fell in love with BTS. The members are genuine. Their characters, personalities, values, and work ethics have not changed in the last 7 yrs. Their lyrics are deep and address current societal issues. You might also like Fake Love, Dope, Fire, Save Me, Spring Day, Blood, Sweat, and Tears, Black Swan, to name a few (there are so much more). These songs, in my opinion, are better representatives of BTS than Dynamite.

I'm glad you checked them. There's a lot more to BTS than meets the eye. That's especially true because the music industry and media try their hardest to put BTS into a box because they're a wild card no one expected and they didn't have a hand in their rise to the top.
I'm sure you'll find tons of songs that you'll enjoy because they really are genre-bending. They don't stick to one thing. In fact the poppy sound of Dynamite is quite rare for them. However, that's the only song of theirs that gets radio play in the US since it is in English, so people end up getting a skewed perception of them.
I think you'll be really impressed if you look into their lyricism because they really have such beautiful, philosophical, vulnerable and intelligent lyrics. The guys are wise beyond their years and there's a sincerity about them that really has won over millions. It's refreshing to see people who really are all about the music and giving what the world needs. They are very vocal about societal issues in their music. They are all about personal growth. You could say their entire discography is a journey of self-discovery, and in seeing them find themselves, you find yourself too. Their music is very layered, to the point where many of them have separate explanation videos because they have that much depth. Their songs manage to be both personal and universal at once. It's a balance that not many are able to execute. You could say their lyrics really won my literature-major heart.
They really make me want to root for them because they work so hard and have had to prove themselves a million times over to get the recognition that their peers who have industry support get. You can always count on BTS to maintain their integrity. I'd say your daughters have found some brilliant role models, especially if they were to look into more of their music. But I understand, kids tend to like catchy things and Dynamite certainly is a earworm hehe.. Dynamite is not the kind of song that would typically be my taste, but there's something about BTS deciding to put it out when they themselves were struggling with the way all their plans for this year went down the drain. They said that this song made them feel joy again and they wanted to help us feel it too, so in that sense, it is meaningful to me.
I think you will enjoy songs like Fake Love. Black Swan and Louder Than Bombs and Blue and Grey. You can check out their MVs with captions on their channel BangtanTV. You can find translated lyrics for all korean songs including their B-sides and mixtapes if you google doolsetbangtan. She explains the lyrics with all the intricate wordplay and cultural context as well. It elevates the music experience x100 when you know how genius the lyrics are.
This really became an essay. Sorry about that hehe.. Just happy to see someone realise that BTS are immensely talented. :D Hope to see you dive a little deeper. Also it's sweet of you to check them out for your daughters despite your misgivings.

I'm 39 yo, and my kids listen to BTS as their inspiration and BTS really give good influence, such as how to respect older, like to do charity, etc. And a lot of their lyrics (check out the translation) is about motivation and message such as love youself, dreams, mental health, empowerment.

I'm not going to go into a lot of depth since others have but I'd say it's a GOOD thing your daughters like k-pop when compared to what is considered music in America. These groups won't be singing about sex, drugs, violence etc. that's too common in western music and BTS are known for having a real meaning behind their music. Just a few examples:
Jin's Epiphany: he talks about the importance of loving yourself first before anything else. Even if you think you're not perfect you're just the way you meant to be.
Answer: Love Myself is along the same line as Epiphany that everything you've gone through - both good and bad makes up the person you are today and who you will become tomorrow. You shouldn't be ashamed of past mistakes because they're something that makes us unique and it's okay not to be perfect.
Idol: is an ode to self love and about not letting the words of anything else bring you down because, "You can't stop me loving myself!".
Finally from their latest album Be there's Blue and Gray: it's a heartfelt song where the boys are talking about how they too have felt depressed and stressed because of covid with the world changing in an instant. One of the members had intended this to be for his personal mixtape and he wrote it around the time he was suffering a pretty major burnout.
There's so much more but I think these songs give a good example of WHY they're so popular once you take into account the lyrics anyone can relate with.

1/4 of the BTS fans are 40 and above. Until I discovered BTS, I hadn't been that into music since Steely Dan and The Who. But they do the same kind of story-telling that really appeals to me. With very few romantic songs. Their lyrics are inspirational.

I am an 8th grade English teacher. I have spent YEARS avoiding mainstream music in America and specifically avoiding the K-Pop phenomenon that my students were into. I recently listened to BTS's NPR Tiny Desk Concert and honestly just wanted to find out what their names were. I got pulled into their music, which has covered SO many genres, and with most of their official music videos, you can put on subtitles in English. One thing that I always hated about mainstream music and rap (3 of the members specifically rap) is that I felt like the lyrics glossed over big issues or never addressed things that were valuable to our world. These guys are vocal about mental health, social injustice, self confidence/love, and very rarely put out songs that don't have some significant meaning behind them. Compared to most of what is in American music nowadays, I just think BTS has a lot more heart and meaning. I still don't get K-Pop as a whole and find most of it not to my taste, but I can say I love BTS.

Also, if you'd like an intro to BTS, I highly suggest the video by The Asian Theory called "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On". It's a good intro to who the members are, and what the group is about :)

When I first got into BTS 3 years ago I thought I realized the brilliance of how K Pop groups manage singing within such busy choreos and the trick is that usually each part is short so the singer just has to manage to keep their voice stead for 5 seconds or more....until J-Kook that comes in and did the killer center part in ON and held that for quite a bit a longer as he does ALOT during his performances...and the boys of course have their solo's where they dont have the help vocally of other members. The stamina is unmatched in American perfrmances.

The scene where they showed the BTS fans called ARMY holding their ARMY bombs (concert lite-sticks) BTS always showcase their fans. It’s BTS way of saying thank you. Some fans were saying “Borahae” means “I purple you”. A term that means “I love you”. Other fans were saying “I purple you”. BTS Army will add Purple Hearts in comments. That’s what it means. BTW - I’m a 65 yo grandmother who was introduced by my granddaughter in 2014 to BTS - It wasn’t until I bought her the 2014 BTS Memories DVD in 2015 - that I began to follow Bangtan Sonyeondan (Bulletproof Boy Scouts) also known as BTS. I felt like a found treasure. Their discography is amazing - their message is to help people love themselves and give hope and happiness. Make the world a better place. Work hard and perseverance.

You’ll fit right in with BTS’ fanbase, called ARMY. Your daughters are on the young end of the spectrum. Most of the fanbase is between 30-50 years old. 30+% are male. If your daughters take BTS’ lyrics to heart, then they’ll have a great support on their side as they grow up. Though with a father taking such an active interest in their interests, it sounds like they’ve got all the love and support they could ever want.

I am a mother of two and I was the one who introduced my children to BTS. They are amazing artist who really do it all - sing, rap, dance, compose, write, produce etc. They do all sorts of genre and do not like to limit themselves to a specific genre. You've gotten a snippet of it in this performance but you have not even scratched the surface. Their discography is insane and so eclectic. That is why their fan base is so diverse - there is something for everyone.
The most amazing thing about them is that their lyrics are so deep and meaningful and very relatable, and they are all-round really good and humble people, even with all the success. As a parent, I am happy my kids are listening to them rather than songs that has not a lot of meaning. They are really good role models too - incredible work ethic and so down-to-earth and appreciative of their fans. Their fan base is as diverse as their music - various age groups, different race and nationality. I am a 44-year old mum from Malaysia, and I am proud to be an ARMY, though a mature one.
You need to react to Crash Course to BTS which gives you a brief look at their albums and discography, and then to know what kind of artist they are react to This IS BTS by XCeleste. These two videos would give you some insights into their music and who they are, and you will probably come to understand why they are a global phenomenon and very well-loved.

I got to know BTS 4 years ago, when I was 14, and they helped me a lot back on 2017 when one of my best friends died.
Their songs have so much meaning, trust me:
    - "Spring Day" (that it's about losing friends and can't move on from it so easily)
    - "Magic Shop" (about not saying "be strong" but "you made me stronger, now let me hold you while you get stronger")
    - "Answer: Love myself" (well, you can tell what it's about, right?)
    - "Wings" (about not giving up and feeling proud of who you are and where you came from)
    - "2! 3!" (about new beginnings)
    - "Spine Breaker“ (about those who abuse of their parents in order to get whatever they want)
    - "Baebsae/ Silver Spoon" (about how difficult is the economic situation to the young people and how sick we are about listening adults say to us "Just try harder/ work harder")
    - "Blue and Grey" (about sadness and depression but Longing for a brighter future)
They have so much meaningful songs.
What I love about them is that, they are not always singing about a heart broken because a relationship, but about problems with themselves; learning how to love themselves, how to respect each other, finding themselves, while hoping for a better tomorrow.

Omg I almost forgot about "Dream" by Agust D, who is SUGA from BTS. That song is about now having a dream and just not knowing or having somewhere to go, or a reason to keep moving, but also saying "dream, I'll be at the end of your life to see what you have done. Your begging might be humble but your future will be prosperous"
And omg "First Love" and "Shadow" DAMN YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THEM
I most clarify something, he goes by 3 names:
      - Min Yoongi (his birth name)
      - SUGA (his name as a BTS member)
      - Agust D (his solo name, as a solo artist)
They have some individual projects but to show a piece of themselves, their own styles

I'm in my 40's and became a big fan of BTS recently. ON has a message about acknowledging your own darkness, or shadow, as being a part of yourself and stepping beyond it, taking ON the pain and rising above it to become a better person. Many of BTS songs (Dynamite not so much) have this level of deep meaning behind it, and many speak about self love and importance of each person for who they are. Many of the lyrics and music videos are influenced by books, movies and art. They try to stay away from political statements but have made a big donation to BLM movement, which their fans have matched the following day. They acknowledge the influence they have on their fans and are trying to leverage that to spread positive messages.
I think you should really be proud of your girls for listening to their songs and I hope they find the messages within the songs, too. In fact, I was so moved by one of their songs, Magic Shop, which talks about mental health, that I started reading the book Into the Magic Shop by Dr. James Doty that inspired the song. I'm reading it with my son who is 9. Really, no one out there writes music the way these guys do.

They promote anti-violence, they speak on acceptance, loving yourself, exploring your doubts and being a better person. It's easy for an outsider to get caught up thinking we are all fans because they are handsome but for most of us that is the cherry on top. Their message, personalities, passion for hard work, talent, and humility make them very easy to love.

Their album _Wings_ is like BTS' own _Revolver_ in my opinion. They really tried pushing the envelope and took artistic risks. Since they write, compose, or produce most of their songs, _Wings_ will be a great way for you to get to know the band. 💜

For example, I'm a hip hop fan so my music taste caters towards records like UGH!, Tear, their cypher series, Baepssae etc. They also do rock, rnb, pop, edm, and more. Dynamite is one of their most poppy/formulaic songs (for example, the fact that it is in english and is their only song in english) so I can see why you were turned off at first :'D
